  1. That's a shame, I've long had a diary idea based around November of 2002 but the scenarios arn't up to scratch sadly. Yeah the 2002 Scenarios aren't very good, no offence to those who made them.
  2. You do realise that having the best league in the world and having the best teams in the world are not the same thing? Exactly. I have no interest in watching La Liga when the two top is always Barcelona and Real Madrid, and not one other team gets anywhere near the amount of TV money as those two (and by 'anywhere near' I'll take within 50 million Euros which shows how bad the problem is) and a third placed team that finishes closer to relegation than the title and has to basically bankrupt themselves in order to actually stay anywhere near the top two (there is a reason why Villa, Silva, Mata and Torres/Aguero had to leave Valencia and Athletico). Contrast that to the Premier League which is more competitive than it was 5 years ago, and the 'best league in the world' stuff is actually pretty valid.
  3. You see that rectangular thing made of plastic? The one with the rubber buttons? Yeah there's a button on there called mute. If you don't like the commentators then press it. And are people really surprised that this is happening? it's been going on for decades (see: Munich-United 1999 final moments, and of course this)
  4. Does this mean Rangers get the points they had deducted back?
  5. And watch has attendances decline rapidly and Cardiff get in even more financial trouble? No thanks. And to Colly, I think what the FAW gets from this is that increases the profile of Welsh football or some such corporate-sounding bs.
  6. Essentially the reaction of my Spurs supporting flatmate this^
  7. Robin, like most Dutch players, can't get on with his fellow Oranges. No real surprise there, but I really wanted someone to knock the smug look off his face after full time. And did Arsenal hire Fergie for this game, 5 minutes added on is ridiculous?
  8. I think it's more that he's expected to a very good player for us in the future, rather he's very good now.
  9. Though I agree with the sarky comment Birmingham won the league cup last season and went down. Cup competitions by their very nature will occasionally throw up a slightly out there winner, so Liverpool finishing 8th while winning a cup (even with those players, none of which is Steve Carr) isn't exactly a shock. Exactly. Didn't Ipswich do a similar thing as Brimingham like ten years ago or so?
  10. Because there's no reason not to remove to Ranjin Singh? Unless you've found something that says he isn't with the company any more? Agreed Martlaro though. He's working with the WWE Creative Team at the moment.
  11. There's a really big difference between the original MTW and later games. You should give either Rome or M2TW a go. Both shouldn't be more than £10 at the moment. EDIT: this was at metalman
  12. Wait... Zenit won't sign black players?
  13. Rome brought in a huge amount of changes from the original Medieval and Shogun games. Understandable if some of the fans didn't like them, I suppose.
  14. Download patch, start new game, include Brazil, january 2012 start date? Doesn't that just simulate the first half of the season, giving random results each time? Yeah.
  15. Download patch, start new game, include Brazil, january 2012 start date?
  16. The 'he plays for Barcelona' argument is valid. Not only is he playing for what would probably the best team in the world without him anyway, but in Iniesta, Xavi and Fabregas he's got some of the best providers in the world supporting him. Add to that he's playing in a league that is entirely set up to ensure Real-Barca hegemony and of course he fucking looks the best there's ever been ever ever ever zomgmessimaryme [/itvwankfest] Is he the best player in the world? Damn right he is. Is he the best player ever? No. Is he one of the best ever? I'd say wait until his career's finished but unless he declines very rapidly he'd definitely be on a list of the top 20 greatest ever today.
  17. The problem is, metalman, your point is wrong. Right, so because Zola and Bergkamp weren't fulfilling their main role, which is to score goals apparently, they aren't actually great players but had a "clear problem that needs addressing". Clearly I said that if they aren't scoring great players. Clearly. Oh wait, no I didn't. A striker's primary job has always been to score goals. If you have the players around you who score a lot of goals, like Wright and later Henry at Arsenal with Bergkamp, and Hasselbaink at Chelsea, then yes, you can get away with not scoring as many goals, and can still be a great player. But scoring goals is what a striker is expected to do.
  18. The problem is, metalman, your point is wrong.
  19. Yes, exactly! I mean just look at Dennis Bergkamp, Arsenal hero. Only scored a goal every four games or so. Despite that, he's an Arsenal hero and arguably the best foreign player ever to play in England! or, perhaps look to Gianfranco Zola, Chelsea hero. Only scored a goal every four games or so. Despite that, he's a Chelsea hero and arguably the best foreign player ever to play in England! That's a similar strike rate to Emile Heskey. Or maybe they're just shit because they weren't fulfilling their primary job, which is to score goals, apparently. Zola: Cost 4.5 million. Bergkamp: Cost 7.5 million. Carrol: Cost 35 million. Torres: Cost 50 million. You'll forgive me if I expect better than 1 goal in 6 games and 1 goal in 11 games from the two biggest transfers between British clubs in history.
  20. A striker's primary job is to score goals. If a striker is failing to do that then there's a clear problem that needs addressing. Spending 50 million, or even 35 million, on a striker who doesn't score goals is a big waste of money, no matter how many assists they make or excuses other people make.
  21. No he's not the best player ever. Probably not even top 10.
  22. It's a working relationship, TNA doesn't own OVW as WWE does with FCW. Keep it in the game imo.
  23. Playing Med 2 mostly at the moment, but have Empire, Napoleon and Rome. The Pope's a complete bastard.
  24. FIFA 12 and Pro Evo 12 on PS3, probably going to get back into Saint's Row 2 this week as well. Football Manager 12 on PC, as well as an oodle of mods for Medieval 2 Total War: Stainless Steel, Westeros, Extended Grand Campaign Map, and the Retrofit mod too. Might dl some others that take me fancy too.
