  1. The redid the FMV sequences, in an attempt to justify putting only 2 games in a box, and charging £20 for it, when they could easily have put all 6 in at once. Sly buggers.
  2. 'The End of Evangelion' Okay, seriously. Maybe it's just because I'm a Star Wars mark but the ending of Return of the Jedi (even though Empire was a better film), because there's just something about dancing with ewoks that is just so classic.
  3. (bbc.co.uk/football) The player says no but Real Madrid's director of football says yes? Strange...but I'd be pleased if he did come. Carlos and Bridge is a better choice than Bridge and Babayaro.
  4. I guess. Though I'm at the stage now of getting my ass repeatedly kicked by Dark Bahamut (he's sitting in front of the Sun Crest damn him!!!), so speedy levelling up is actually appreciated.
  5. Presumably because with the majority of ROM games (i.e. old ones) the companies are pissed off but it's not as if they're losing a significant amount of money so they won't bother with the complex legal processes and costs to try and combat it. Unlike the music industry, although whether they're really losing much money as a direct result of file sharing has been disputed.
  6. Have I missed something where being a strong character makes you bad? ¬_¬ I actually won that cup (the one in the storyline) the first time I played it. My brother was completely amazed, while I was like "what, was I not meant to?". They thrashed me on my second time in playing it though... 'Otherworld' = Best. CG. Music. Ever. Not that I've had the mp3 for years now... *slap* Computer generated 13 year olds...the lowest of the low.
  7. With no credentials to your name, probably not. I waited 14 months and applied to every job that came up in the English leagues - which included 13 Conference jobs. Rejected by all of them. I suppose they were put off when I handed in my CV and the only thing on it was "Won 4 Champions Leagues in a row as Glasgow Rangers on CM99/00..." How depressingly realistic. However if you've already been managing for one or two years then you probably shouldn't have a problem. Probably.
  8. The latest data update I found for CM01/02 was a 'CM Sorted' one which starts it at the 02/03 season. I used thedugout.com for this.
  9. I've given up trying to figure out who'd be a good buy for Chelsea any more. In the end I'll just sit back and see what happens...unless they let Lampard go, and then I'll be pissed. Announcement of Claudio's sacking this Thursday, you know it's coming.
  10. I don't even know what Champions of Norrath is... I also haven't bought a PS2 game in ages, although I am going to get Disgaea soon, as my birthday's coming up. Although since your other choice was Hitman then I guess that maybe you like different kinds of games. Haven't played Hitman, but I've heard nothing but good stuff about it.
  11. Scottish First Division. I'm supposed to 'battle bravely against relegation' this season too. Should be entertaining...for the other teams.
  12. I'm pretty sure Region 0 is region-free. I got one that's not available in Region 2 and it worked fine with all my various DVD players - multi-region, or even R2-only. Some Australian DVDs are R2, but a lot seem to be R4.
  13. I've just started a 'career' game on CM01/02 (ie. immediately resign and try to get any job and start from there). The reason it's CM01/02 is: - I can put on ALL 26 leagues and still go pretty fast, whereas with CM4 my computer wouldn't be able to handle it. - I tried on CM4 and after 14 months no-one would hire me. ¬_¬ Anyway, just became manager of the IMMORTAL Ross County! Brought in 34yr old keeper Gary Kelly from Oldham for £40,000. Forgot to put him in my squad for my first league game. Lost away to Inverness 4-1. Good times...
  14. I do actually refer to myself as a rabid fangirl because I am most definitely NOT a perverted fanboy. Rabid fanboy, you ask? Yeah, as if that doesn't imply perverted motives just as badly... And yes, Wakka is great. Blitzball is the only FF mini-game I've even vaguely enjoyed...except for possibly the skipping game near the start of FF9 I can't stand any of the card games and similar. Thankfully with these things you only *technically* have to play 2 games of Blitzball and stop there if you want to. Well...unless you want Wakka's Ultimate Weapon that is, in which case you're going to be there for 40 games plus. Damn sigils.
  15. In order of personal preference (of ones I've played. i.e. not VIII. I've got III aka VI on my computer too but I haven't got round to playing it properly) 1. FFX - really liked the characters. Well, except Kimahri. And the overall 'completeness' of this game, if that makes sense. Auron > J00. Oh, and Blitzball is addictive. 2. FF9 - Aside from the fact that I gave up trying to beat the last boss (eh, what good is an ending sequence anyway), this game was great. I think maybe I like the 'rural' style ones (like this and FFX) as opposed to the 'mecha' style ones (FFVII). Plus I think this is the one I've laughed out loud at most frequently. 3. FFVII - I've owned this game for a couple of years now and I still haven't been able to get into it enough to get past Disc 1. Seriously, I try again every so often and it just fails to appeal to me. The bad guys are good, but I couldn't care less about any of the people in your group. 4. FFX-2 - You...turned...FFX...into...Charlie's Angels...and...Yuna...into...Lara Croft...YOU...BASTARDS~!!! (Blame the perverted fanboys. ALWAYS blame the perverted fanboys. At least rabid fangirls never ruin games )
  16. I know Morientes played really well this last season, but I have the gut feeling that if he did come to Chelsea he'd just be another Crespo.
  17. Mickey. Bloody. Owen. Not that I also really dislike him or anything.
  18. Sweet, my aunt lives in Cape Town! World Cup here I come!!
  19. Looks like good stuff, plus my birthday is coming up so I'm actively considering it. Gonna take a look round the internet for a couple more reviews first. And DoubleX - yes, nitpicking indeed. EDIT: Eh...you know what, I'm going to save my money for whenever the hell Xenosaga gets released in the UK ("TBA 2004" - fuckers.) EDIT 2: Okay now I'm pissed: I think I might go and cry...and then buy random other (worse) games in an attempt to sooth my soul. *Adds Namco to ever-increasing list of US companies that have fucked me off with their lack of UK releases. And I hold grudges for a VERY long time.*
  20. Classic. For me, I was always with Sega (Master System/Mega Drive), and then move on to Sony (PSX/PS2). Used to play SNES and the like, but not to anywhere near the same degree. But then, I'm a Sonic loyalist. As for the contemporary consoles, there is but one reason why I'm PS2-only, and that is the controllers. I can't stand the Gamecube/X-Box controllers for one second (just like with Dreamcast, which is why I didn't get that either). If I could, I would definitely get a Gamecube as well...if only for all of the Sonic games (rather than just crappy Sonic Heroes) and the Rogue Squadron series Bring back the NES/Master System rectangular controllers I say...!
  21. Well, that seemed a little cold but he has a fair point. From what I've read about Mourinho, the main things people praise him about are: - Getting so far in the Champions League (which IMO is kind of hit and miss anyway) - Working well in Porto with a low budget (erm...) - Communicating well with the players (which, if I'm not mistaken, is something people praise Ranieri about too) I'm not saying that Mourinho is a worse coach than Ranieri, but I certainly wouldn't place him as a significant improvement. Opinions?
  22. Eat their first born first. And make them watch. ¬_¬
  23. Kids in America Billie Jean Two Tribes 99 Luftballons Come on feel the noise etc
  24. Though of course the whole deal with it being 4th place is because they alter them slightly every few years based on which are the better leagues at the time. Hence why England got a 4th one a couple of years back, Scotland got one taken away etc. All the '4th place' thing does is point out that, due to the overall quality of the league, the 4th placed team in England is likely to be as good or better than the champions or 2nd placed team from some other country. That way it's more realistic and provides for better football.
  25. Cynical reason: More teams = more matches = more money My reason: Because a tournament of only 8 or so teams (unless you took the champions of places like, say, Slovenia) would suck. And seriously, how much does it matter? Would you like them to change the name then? It is still the premier competition in Europe. I'd say it's far more enjoyable with the extra teams, because otherwise it would get so repetitive that it wouldn't evenb be funny.
