  1. Isn't the entire premise of a 10 year old boy still being 10 after 10 years of roaming the Pokemon world silly in the first place? I dont really mind things like a god pokemon or DNA pokemon. A pokemon that is deemed legendary just because it can make flowers grow is what is silly to me.
  2. Im the same way. Every game is the same thing with no REAL variety thrown in. You start with a pokemon, beat gyms, fight Team _______, make it to the Elite Four, catch legendary pokemon of the generation. But at the same time, I'm not bored with HG yet, mostly due to the fact I want to raise pokemon up by EV training and eventually have some battles with people over wifi. If you just play the game and ONLY that, then the games will get old fast, but playing against other people with their own move sets and stuff can keep the fun going. I also dislike how many legendaries there are. To me, Jirachi, Manaphy, and Shaymin just don't come off as legendary. The others I can buy, some just for being incredibly rare or whatever and the rest actually having a purpose (controlling space and time, etc). I hope they don't introduce any new legendaries in Gen 5, because how can you top Arceus? The only way I can see anything topping the creator of the Pokemon world is making a pokemon that is the destructor of the Pokemon world or something. Making a pokemon game like the handheld ones for a system like the Wii would be incredible. After watching some newish episodes of the anime and seeing the stuff they do in contests, I really want a game where you can sort of control your pokemon and the attacks it uses, combine attacks, etc. The series DOES need a shake up, which was why I was hoping they would maybe change the starter type set or something. I wouldn't even mind a Pokemon League thing where after you get all 8 badges, you enter a tournament that you must win in order to face the Elite Four. Just put something in to make it more different.
  3. The picture Izzy posted does kinda hit the nail on the head with the water one. Too much is put onto it to try and make it look, I dont know, cute I guess? Really hoping it's a case of Torchic where the first stage isn't something you'd really want to use but the final stage is bad ass. Im still hoping that we see more Eeveelutions this generation. A steel and dragon Eevee would be interesting to see.
  4. These are definitely the worst starters of the 5 generations. I really don't think anything will match up to the original Gen1 starters, probably for nostalgias sake, to me, but I really loved those ones. The next 3 generations of starters were good as well. It's probably just because it's been five generations of games, and near 500 different pokemon, because it can't be exactly easy to keep making new ones after so long and so many already made. My hopes were up on the new starters, though, and they did disappoint. I will at least hold up hope that the evolved forms of these three are more badass, since that is the way it's been so far in the series. It won't affect me getting the game (if I don't get bored of pokemon before then/can afford it), but they should have done better with the starters.
  5. I really don't think any of them are that good. The fire pig could be really interesting as far as second and final evolution goes. I was expecting more is all. The water one looks the least interesting compared to the other two. I also would have liked to see the 'grass snake' pokemon have no actual limbs yet, but that is the best one out of the three first form starters.
  6. After thinking about this over night, I can see the point people are making in why EA are right/have the right to do this. I agree that it isn't exactly a warm embrace to the used game market of buyers, and I would say that EA should really only make money on the amount of discs they produce themselves, not the amount of people who end up getting possession of the game. Why should EA make 500 bucks off of 5 discs just because 10 people were in possession of those same 5 discs over a period of time, when no new discs were sold that would require EA to go through the labor of creating more discs to sell? Then on the other hand I can agree with those saying that EA making money off of an online feature they are behind is in the right and such. It is a smart tactic on EA's part to make some extra dough in addition to the game discs themselves, and if EA are running their own servers for the online features, then it is more understandable for them to charge for online play. With an online code being a one time price of 10 dollars (it better not be a monthly thing ), buying a game used can still save some money if you wait long enough. For people who have trouble with money, then putting video games at the bottom of the list is a necessary thing to do. Last night I was agreeing with those that were saying EA are dicks for doing this, but now I am more understandable to why they may have and think they have the right to do this, especially if they run their own servers which costs money and labor and such to do. I can still understand why people are upset, though, since it does come across as a dickish move if you are highly part of the used game market. If I was into sports games at all, I'd be pissed at having to pay more money to play an extra feature in the game since I'm tight on money as well.
  7. What do you need/are you looking to get? I may be able to help you out with something. If you want some extra money I could send you some valuable items since I've yet to sell any of the nuggets or pearls I've grabbed along the way.
  8. So, does anybody have an extra lucky egg lying around? I dont really feel like attempting running into a 1% chance Chansey
  9. Ive been hoping that they'd change things up with new games so that it wasn't just the same thing over and over again with minor tweaks, one of them being changing the starter types from water/fire/grass to something like fighting/psychic/dark. It isn't BAD, but I just would like to see something like that. And I would guess the left is grass, top is fire, and right is water.
  10. I don't remember playing the third one that much if at all. I need to get a hold of these games again, though, along with some Torins Passage game that used to be on the computer.
  11. No. It'll double the increasing items EV yield. So if you fought a pokemon and would normally get 2 Speed EVs, if you used an enhancing item you would get 4, and with Pokerus added to that you would get 8 total.
  12. I've been in a retro game swing lately, and I seem to remember an old set of games where you would control a character in some story, and you would type into a dialog box what you wanted the character to do. I remember one of these games involving a key to a door to a house being inside a pumpkin or something, and you having to type in, "Pick up pumpkin/smash pumpkin/pick up key," stuff along those lines. Anybody remember these games and know what they're called?
  13. Edson, I could help you tomorrow since you're only in New Jersey and I'll be at a friends and be able to use his wi-fi. Probably only able to do it around 12-2pm, though. Friend code is 0689 7970 1546.
  14. Even if the show has a bad episode, I can't but help enjoy it still. It's a good quirky, fun, and over the top show with good to great songs covered superbly by the cast. The only thing I could say I hated about this weeks episode...
  15. Trying to get the pikachu with surf or fly will be a bitch. I ended up just saving the watts up for a few days, then spending them all on trying to get the three "!!!" box when looking for pokemon on the walker. I got the surfing one and I'm done with the course. Just beat Leader Blue for my 16th badge, though. And in only under 90 hours . Now I just have to level pokemon up (which will be a bitch) some more so I can battle Red, which from what I saw of his party will be loads of fun. After that I get to redo all the work I've done in actually capturing pokemon (I only have a main 6 that I use, plus Ho-Oh which is just going to rot in the PC Box) and raising them with certain move sets.
  16. So I got Heargold finally. Got it used and traded in some old PS2 games so it only cost 16 bucks. As addictive as ever, caves still suck from Zubat, Abra still sucks as the Metapod of the psychic pokemon . Game is great, though. Only on Route 35/36 as I've been focusing on leveling my main ones up, then off to continue the gym battles so I can eventually beat the game and go back to reraise pokemon with specific move sets.
  17. The pics revealed for the Gen 5 games on Serebii are amazing to be honest. The camera angle being lowered a bit makes the new graphics they started with D/P a LOT sweeter.
  18. Yeah, I spaced about Starmie being genderless. As for the finding a pokemon that knows ice beam, can you get into a double battle using a Smeargle and *insert another of your pokemon that knows/can learn ice beam* and use Smeargle to sketch your second Pokemon? I've never cared for shiny pokemon. They look cool, especially the shiny Charizard, but it wouldn't hurt me if I didn't get one. If I ever get Heart Gold I'll have to try battling Pokemaster DooXu, then proceed to lie about getting my ass kicked Has anybody gotten a Pokemon that has had that Pokerus thing?
  19. I just wanna be a cool kid I'm really hoping I can get this game at some point soon. I've been going through Bulbapedia and been thinking of pokemon I'd want to use in non-traditional ways/pokemon I wouldn't normally use as a main one for a challenge. Plus, the fact that Heart Gold and Soul Silver are more or less the biggest games as far as content goes helps too
  20. I'm just trying to sound smart after recently getting back into a Pokemon phase and attempting to learn all the changes from the original games . If you don't want to waste the TM right now, then I'd suggest going with Dewgong, Cloyster, Lapras, Articuno, or Glalie/Frosglass since they all learn the move via level up. Or head to the Veilstone Game Corner and just earn enough coin so you can just buy more Ice Beam TMs.
  21. It's anywhere in the forest, and I believe it's a 5% chance to run into one, but don't quote me on that. Also UPDATE I've found a way to get a Water stone, so that's set. Now is there anyone with Diamond/Pearl/Platinum who would be willing to trade me an Ice Beam TM? I can replace it quite easily from my Pearl, but again, I only have physical access to one DS, and my other option would be risky trickery using the GTS. Depending on who you want to give the TM to, you may be able to get it by other means if you get a male Smeargle, since the only move it knows is to copy a move from another Pokemon permanently (it'll keep the move after the battle), and breed it with a female of the Pokemon you want to learn the move.
  22. Probably nothing that informative or anything, but an article I found on the whole Chris Evans-Captain America thing, http://insidemovies.moviefone.com/2010/03/23/chris-evans-marvel-comics-captain-america/?ncid=webmaildl8
  23. Ill admit I actually started enjoying the new season towards the end, and Cole was actually becoming a good cast member. "Forget the mole. Im more worried about my throat pain... My T-Pain!" Not that I am sad it is ending, since I'm going to miss Jo/Drew and Kelso and that is more or less it.
  24. My friend played the demo yesterday. He really likes it, whereas I think it looks rather shitty and it seems like the Transformers game, as in it looks like it'll get boring and old incredibly fast.
  25. I seem to really just be watching out of habit now. Nothing is really THAT interesting anymore, and I agree about the writers reluctance to do anything out of the box. Noah dying would have been nice to see if only for the effect it would have on Claire as a person (evil Claire with trenchcoat from the future that we've seen?). Hiro spending pretty much the entire season chasing after a piece of ass was boring, but it's nice to see him back to normal without Charlie to worry about. Although I like Sylar as the evil guy, there is only so much you can do with him before he is just doing the same old boring stuff, which is how it has been for me lately. He goes after specials, takes their powers, people chase him. At least with him being a good guy (maybe) it is something different, though the turn for him was pretty anticlimatic. Eh, like I said. I wanna see one more season just to see the fallout from Claires little stunt. If they do a season after that, then they're just crazy people doodling kitties in crayon.
