  1. I just went to see Children of Bodom.

    COB Pwn.

Bodom are better than your favorite band

Bodom make your favorite band look gay

You wish you were at Children of Bodom.

    be jealous.

    Anyway on with more details.

Got the train to Euston last night, got tickets on the 4 for 2 offer so a return cost me, my brother and two of his friends £6.75 each. Score. Had a nice brisk walk in the cold down to the Astoria. I didn't want to get us lost so we ask two Evening Standard guys directions. They are very helpful. Got to the Astoria and joined the queue. It was pretty long, but we were thankful it wasn't half as long as the Nightwish one. Got in just as the first band were finishing. I was pretty surprised at the size of the venue. I thought it would be bigger than the Hammersmith since I always hear of the Astoria holding gigs. We got into the crowd to meet some more of my brother's friends and just as we got to them a pit started next to them. Got a little intense for my liking, especially when some gimp came in with a flying kick, so I took a position on the balcony upstairs. Second band were ok. Sort of like Soulfly, Sepultura, latin metal sound. The only English you could decipher from the lead singer was 'jump' and 'fuck'. It was awesome seeing everyone headbanging/jumping/arms in the air from the balcony. The moshes looks awesome too. Highlight of the night - some kid whos looking really out of place in a white t-shirt of whatever goes in the pit and starts spinning round swinging his arms and doing spinning roundhouse kicks, mid kick someone charges into him and he hits the deck. He gets up again and charges to the other side of the pit only to get shoulderblocked by this massive guy with a beard. It was like Rey Mysterio running into Andre The Giant. They took ages doing the Bodom set, and for some reason there was half a car there. No one quite knew why. Bodom came on and the crowd erupted. They were awesome. I'm not a diehard fan so didn't recognise all the songs, but the ones of Hate Crew Deathroll rocked particularly hard, such as Needled 24/7, Bodom Beach Terror, Bodom After Midnight, Everytime I Die and Hate Me. Disappointed they didn't play Kissing The Shadows, but that's because my brother's band do a cover of it and so it's a bit of a cult classic around us. At one point Janne started playing Bless This Child and Alexei said "Nightwish is not the issue here". They also teased Oops I Did It Again and Youth Gone Wild covers. Came outside, and was disappointed with the quality of the tout t-shirts. Managed to beat the other group back to Euston by foot when they took the underground (and paid a tenner more each for their train tickets to include the underground).

Overall, it was awesome. Bodom pwn.

  2. My girlfriend does Media at college and has do to a 4000 word essay on genres and stuff for Friday. As part of the essay she has to identify 5 films from 5 different genres which either break the conventions of the genre or push the boundaries of them.

An example would be something like Bugsy Malone - a gangster film, but all the characters all played by children and there are no bullets, etc. Also, something like Robocop has been identified as a scifi/police vengeance genre, but with an underlying idea of a Western - the sheriff against the bandits, superb marksman, spinning his gun before putting it in his holster.

So all you movie buffs flex your movie knowledge and discuss some examples that could be used, and help Lafunky get the good lovin'.

    Cheers.

  3. Return of Cole, although there probably wasn't any trouble for him Djourou seemed to of played well in defence even though he's a DM, I mean if Cygan (a DC playing LB) comes off for his LB replacement, surely you'd think he'd be slotted into central defence and the DM would come off

  4. Just started my first proper game on 06 with my team, the mighty Goons. Trying to keep it fairly real, so I looked into a few players we've been linked with. Signed Jacques Faty (who we always sign when I'm not Arsenal), Didier Zokora (wanted Diarra, but he wasn't recommended by scouts and wanted 65k a week, get out) and Mathieu Bodmer (wasn't sure whether to sign, but wanted some more midfield depth incase of injuries). Tried to get Isaksson, but Rennes wouldn't let him leave, so hopefully I'll get him in January or in the summer.

Not a great start to the season. Lost the Community Shield to Chelsea 3-1, but pulled it back with a big 3-3 draw at The Bridge (last minute equaliser by Cole, cunt), then a loss at home to Fulham. Got a bit of a dodgy group in the CL - Juve, Benfica and Schalke, hopefully I'll get through it though.

  5. I'm not reading through your dribble but no matter who you've come from, even if it's Inter Milan or Juventus, a team like AC offer you a contract, you're not about to say no.

Steven Watt has moved from Chelsea to Swansea. That's a bit shit, I always liked him.

Many have said no. If it's a bad career move, why would no player say no? Just because they're a great club doesn't mean it's the right move. In his case, it was the wrong move by far, so yes he should have said no, but clearly he seems to care about playing a few minutes of football every week for a big team and getting some extra cash.

  6. I got harassed in a kebab shop by a drunk guy in a 'Free Pete Doherty' shirt once. He asked me if I knew who Pete Doherty. I didn't. He said something about The Libertines and that he should be freed. My mate laughed in his face and told him to fuck off and that Doherty deserved to be inside. He didn't like it too much.
