  1. Good stuff, I've wanted to pick them up for a while but didn't want to accidently spoil anything about the other books I was reading if it was set too far ahead of them. Thanks for that. A quick look at Wiki and the current line up of 'Ultimate X-Men' doesn't look good at all. The art looks crappy as well, although it could just be the cover they have on display.
  2. Yeah I just read 'New Mutants' and 'Blockbuster' before that, both of which I really enjoyed. And yes unfortunatley I know 'all about' Ultimate Cable As you may have figured he's one of my favourite comic characters (regular Cable) and when I found out about the Ultimate version I was not pleased at all.
  3. Fair enough, each to their own. Although it saddens me that you say everything past where I'm at sucks Cos Im enjoying the series right now. Has anyone read the Ultimate Iron Man, Daredevil and Elektra, Fantastic Four or the Team Up books? Any good? And one more question while I'm at it; When does the Ultimate Extinction/Nightmare/Galactus thingy take place in respect to the X-Men and Spiderman volumes?
  4. Living in the UK I tend to get the volumes as its much easier. Also I find they're just nicer to keep, not to mention the added plus of getting a full story rather than having to wait months for the next part. I've recently been reading Essential Avengers Vol 1. (which is great by the way) and the difference in stories within issues is gretaly noticable. Each issue was action packed, and usually a full story. When the story went over a lot of issues it was something big. Nowadays you get a story in say six parts, and each month it only progresses slightly. Just an opinion, but yeah I prefer the 'volumes.'
  5. Theres quite a few decent priced comic dealers on EBAY worth a look. Pretty easy to find, so I wont bother finsing a link. If you weren't restricted to PayPal, I'd say Amazon is a great place. And to timmay I actually thought the only crappy volume of Ultimate X-Men was 5 (Ultimate War) which wasnt that bad, as it did a good job of setting up Return Of The King which was one of the best.
  6. Ultimate Spiderman is a good series, although Im at volume 7 now and Im getting a little bored with it to be honest. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Ultimates and The Ultimates 2... by far the best Ultimate lines in my opinion. Ultimate X-Men is also awesome, at volume 8 of that and its yet to loose a step.
  7. He's back The new look is awesome. Love the idea of having a gun and knife mixing the old school elements with the very modern looking new costume. No idea whos going to be behind the mask though, ideas anybody? I think it'd be great if they don't actually reveal who he is for 6-12 months, providing whoever it is would turn out to be a real shocker.
  8. Whos the chick in your avatar? I'd hit that >_>

  9. Awesomeness. I do have both (kinds of card) but generally try and avoid using the credit card where necassary, for pretty obvious reasons.
  10. That sounds awesome. Would it work in a similar way to subscriptions? ie I pay online via credit/debit card and I get posted the comics as they are released? I take it that it'd be a nationwide thing?
  11. Being in the UK, my nearest comic store is quite far from me so I find it hard to get a hold of US Titles (Marvel). Instead I just collect the trades which are roughly 6-12 months behind the comic releases depending on which titles. Since everyone else was doing it a few pages back, thought I'd throw a list out too; Uncanny X-Men The X-Men are my all time favourites, but this run with the XSE team is really bland I feel, hopefully the reshuffled team leading into the 'Rise and Fall of the Shi-ar' story will breath a little more life into it. Im pumped for the whole Messiah complex too, even though its going to be a good year or two away in the trades. X-Men Enjoyed the Peter Milligan (thats his name right?) run more than a lot of people gave me the impression I would. I like the stories and the art, while not perfect its no way as bad as some people say. Hopefully when this team gets the re-shuffle, the stories will make up for an art style which I really don't like the look of and what seems like a totally random X-team (Rogue, Sabretooth, Mystique, Iceman and Cannonball? WTF?). Astonishing X-Men. This recieves a lot of praise and rightfully so, its plain awesome. Can't wait for vol 4, as number 3 left us with somewhat of a cliff hanger. I dunno how long it'll be mind, heck I dont even know if that story has finished in the US yet New Avengers. Brilliant story telling combined with awesome art has completely revitalised the whole Avengers franchise which was (in my opinion) totally stale prior to Disassembled. Waiting for 'revolution' which should be interesting with the aftermath of Civil War, and some awesome new characters such as Iron Fist and Dr Strange. The fact that they're now underground, and not the super invincible team with Cap, Iron Man and Sentry is going to make it all that much more fun. Exiles. Only just started with this, and have read the first two volumes. Being a fan of the TV show 'Sliders' means I love this, and if the rest of the series follows in the same way as it started, the I can't wait to read more. Ultimates. Read all of 1 and 2, can't wait for 3 to come along. Without a doubt the best book in the Ultimate series. Ultimate X-men Great story telling, with a unique view on the X-men. I can't say I prefer it too the 616 X-men in anyway, but still a good book. Just finished Return of the King. Ultimate Spider Man Another good title, although Im unsure if I will continue reading. I've just read vol 6: Venom, but I'm starting to get a little bored with it I guess. Can anyone who has read a lot more of this series tell me if its gets better, or if its worth reading on? Thats what I'm reading right now, and today I just spent 2 1/2 hours straight reading the Planet Hulk Omnibus basically because I know the World War Hulk books will be out in January and wanted some background information as I havent read a Hulk comic since around the time of Heroes Reborn. I am so, so, so glad I did, this was one of the best ever comic books I have ever read. Great art and storylines all the way through. Greg Pak never misses a thing with his writing in this book, and I actually can't wait to read World War Hulk after seeing how it ended. Things I'm looking forward to reading; Yes, I already said I can't wait for World War Hulk to make it to trades but other than the main story, I really wanna read World War Hulk: Frontline as of all the books that came alongside Civil War, that was probably the one I enjoyed the most. Immortal Iron Fist I read the first issue as a marvel dot comic, so I cant wait for the whole first volume. A character I never knew too much about, but something tells me this'll be a good one. Phoenix Warsong I have heard good things, and I enjoyed Endsong despite it lacking a certain 'something.' Hopefully Warsong will have that 'something.' Mighty Avengers. Im already reading New Avengers, but Im willing to give this a try - the other side of the story post Civil War, hopefully it'll be just as good as new. Captain America Omnibus Containing 1-25 of his most recent run. Yes I know how it ends, but I read the first 5 issues via the UK collectors editions and really want t oread the whole thing as it seemed a top quality story. Anything else people could recommend would be cool too (Y)
  12. On another note, I dont know if he's doing it for a while, or just started but Nikki Sixx has just released an awesome solo song.
  13. Fuck you all, she was hot in that skanky oufit. I'd have done here, and would still. Who gives a damn if the performance sucked, she was hot dammit! What?
  14. Im glad you fine people have discovered the magic of Trapped In The Closet. My friends and I have created an awesome drinking game based on it, we've only seen the first bunch of chapters and await the rest to arrive on DVD soon. The Rules of the Trapped In The Closet Drinking Game You must have a drink/shot when; 1. A door opens. 2. A gun is pointed or fired. 3. A phone rings. 4. R Kelly rhymes a word with the same word (happens more than you think). If you're not wasted after the first couple of chapters then you're playing it wrong dammit!~
  15. Oh and congrats on getting 1st in the P25 this time, you earned it.

  16. I shall leave you awesome feedback when you post your next PPV, I'll predcit befoer hand too. If I feedback your current show I'll feel obliged to do the last 5, I dont have that much time. :P

  17. Agreed. Matt's is awesome, but the red eyes just kill it for me.
  18. I really liked the trailer, and am looking forward to it. It'll be nice to see a Marvel movie that isn't a sequel r remake. (X-Men, Spiderman, FF, Hulk)
  19. There you big bitch, I just gave you some big bitchin feedback.

  20. You suck at being on MSN dammit.

  21. Kari Sweets is super hot. Therefore you win :)

  22. Just got four trades through the post today Astonishing X-Men Vol 2: Dangerous Usually when there is a load of hype about something, I dont like it that much. But this series is well worth the hype, and despite planning to read things other than X-Men, I just couldn't not get number 2 after a great volume 1. Its full of surprises, twists and turns. And I must say Joss Whedon knows how to do a fuckin cliffhanger. The Thing: Freakshow I've never really read much FF before, but I read issue two of this series and decided to get the trade and read the whole thing. Its a top story, fun throughout with some great art which is just that little bit different to the usual marvel style. Oh and as a bonus you get 'Thing/She Hulk: long Night' printed in the back, which I have yet to read. X-Men/Black Panther: Wild Kingdom Love the X-Men and Panther is pretty cool, although I despise Storm, especially as leader of the X-Men. Haven't read it yet, but shall do soon and leave my thoughts. Avengers Disassembled I had heard much bad stuff about how this story was built up, but it just sucked etc. I thought it was brilliant, I'd read Avengers before but never got into it. This was a great read from the start. On that note I intented to buy the other Disassembled tie ins; Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Fantastic Four and Spiderman. A question for those who know. Do these books go in any specific order? Or are they all meant to 'accompany' the main story? Also, any of them particularly better than the others? I intend to get them all but ya know... jus wondering.
  23. I've heard good things abotu cable and deadpool? Can anyone help me? I'm looking for essential, or just very good TPB's that fit between where the UK Collectors Editions are now and the House of M story. If possible, recommendations for Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Captain America, Thor, Wolverine and Deadpool.
  24. Agreed. After listening again I'm finding it more likeable in general. But I still think its missing that 'something' they made them what they were.
