  1. I didn't know there was a film! Someone please tell.. which came first? did they make it from the book? Or did they comicize the movie?
  2. I'm more concerned about how creepy that picture is Howard is awesome, but lets keep it in picture form. A real life man/duck that talks is just scary.
  3. Just in caser anyones wondering, I am indeed allowing votes for Deadpool, Winter Soldier and Namor to count as in some way, shape or form they all are/have been heroes.
  4. So I felt like following suit with all the lists going on in The Ring, picked a topic I'm rather familiar with and went with it. I was going to do 'comic book heroes' but I dont know enough about DC (or others for that matter) to justify them. Why 25? I felt 50 was way too high considering this may not get much of a response (not sure how many comic fans we have here on EWB). Anyway, usual rules apply so its five choices per voter. 1st place votes get 5 points and 5th place votes get 1 point each. Voting begins now, and will close at 6PM Thursday 20th March (UK Time). The list, I hope, will be posted mostly over the course of the weekend. Get voting people!
  5. VII is great graphically for its time, has a great epic story and is heaps of fun. Of course we all know the acclaim it recieved. VI though, I love it. while the graphics are nothing compared to VII and onwards... its still a great, fun game with a whole bunch of cool characters (14 of them if I rememebr rightly). Never played IV.. whats it like? Also whats FF III on DS like? Any good? When I finish FFXII Ima gonna re-play VI, VII, VIII (I only ever did this the once), IX and if I can be bothered X and X-2. Yeah, I can't afford a PS3 so I'm re-living all the others instead of anticipating XIII. Also, the first time I finished VII I was at level 42.
  6. After getting about 3/4 of the way through I recently re-started FFXII along with a guide so I can pretty much get the most of of it. So yeah, Garamsythe Waterway on the way to sneaking into the palace. I decide to kill a bunch of Rats and gain a level or 2, knowing theres a Save Crystal right where I started to heal me. I get a nice big chain of rats, but by this point my health is mega low so Im running back when one of the mother fuckers kills me. Yeah, thats what I said. Game Fucking Over. At the hand of a Dire Fucking Rat. TWAT.
  7. Definitly Basch to play with, he's powerful, fast and seems to be effective with whatever he does. Total badass. But yeah, Balthier is probably the 'coolest' as a character rather than a player if you get me.
  8. Currently playing Mario Galaxy on my Wii and Zelda:Phantom Hourglass on my DS. Both games are all kinds of awesome, (Y)
  9. 1 - X-Cutioners Song 2 - Planet Hulk 3 - X-Men Visionaries: Neal Adams 4 - Secret Wars 5 - Essential Avengers
  10. In regards to the earlier discussion about Ultimate Sinister, I must say I throughorly enjoyed The Tempest, and his re-invention. Don't get me wrong, I am a die hard 616 Sinister fan. However I felt it was unfair to compare the two as all they really have in common is the name. Two totally different characters in a sense. Spoiler: Click here to viewNot to sound a hypocrite, but I also like the way they broguht in some similarities. The way he became super powered, a scientist doing stuff to himself (yeah sounds pretty similar). But most of all I loved the Apocalypse thing, it just leaves so many questions. Is he a psycho? Other than being a trigger happy killer, that is. Is Apocalypse real? Is he in Sinisters head or what? Its all going to be interesting when I get to the more recent stories with more developments.
  11. I'm gutted that I'll have to suffer through Avenged Sevenfold to see Maiden, but your friends aren't worth missing Maiden at Twickers with the Powerslave set Unbelieveable. Have you ever seen Avenged Sevenfold live? Truly awesome. I was already going to see maiden as it was, but the announcement of Sevenfold being there too just makes it all the more exciting. Honestly, Avenged Sevenfold, great live band. Although if its just 'not your thing' then fair enough.
  12. Saw Avenged Sevenfold a few days ago in Manchester. Was awesome Seeing Iron Maiden on the 5th July at Twickenham. Will be awesome. Also imagine my delight when I learned Avenged Sevenfold would also be supporting Maiden at that very concert.
  13. After seeing the Loeb 'bashing' in earlier pages I thought I had to leave my comments on the first issue of the new Hulk book. I never read his Wolverine stuff, so can't comment on that. As for Hulk, until Planet Hulk I was never able to get into a Hulk book for more than an issue or two without getting bored. Although to be fair it was written by Greg Pak, who can seem to do no wrong with the books I have read by him at least. I actually never saw World War Hulk, and will wait for the trades, but if Im honest it was the obvious marketing ploy of sticking a great whopping red mother fucker of a Hulk on the cover that attracted me. Anyway it was well written, it all made sense. It had a good helping of guest stars/co-stars (generally needed for a Hulk book in my opinion). Iteven had a nice little fight scene in the middle. Oh and a mystery of sorts to keep us guessing, and a cliffhanger of other sorts to make me come back for more. Oh and next issues cover just makes me wanna read it right away. So what I'm saying is Loeb has done a good job here. Well worth picking up.
  14. So yeah I just ordered Ultiamte X-Men Vols 9, 10, 11, Ultimate Spiderman Vols 9 & 10 and Exiles Vol 4. Currently enjoying all three of these books rather thouroghly... do tell... do they all stay so good upto current day storylines? (No need to mention Ultimate Cable, I have already heard much about this).
  15. Yeah, gotta say I am seriously looking forward to the new X-Force. Probably more than Messiah Complex in general, just looks so bad ass with all the knifes.
  16. Not sure about that. And I'm not sure who wrote this of the top of my head, but I throurghly enjoyed Civil War: Wolverine and found it to be one of the better spin offs from that story (the only other great spin off probably being Frontline). Yeah. On a similar note, I heard about an Ultimate Wolverine mini-series (I believe involving Loeb). Is it out soon? Or is it already out? If its already out, is it any good?
  17. So the 28th was my birthday. Since I wasn't here to open up a 'happy birthday me' tpe thread I thought I'd mention it here. Why? Because I just discovered that I share my birthday with one of my favourite modern day writers, Brian Michael Bendis. Awesome.
  18. Whos the hottie is your avatar? Clearly I need to debate her mass 'shifty/pervert'

  19. Wow am I fucked. Playing as Matt Hardy on 24/7 mode, started on SD! and won a ridiculous amount of number one cont. matches, never getting my title shot. After about 5 times of choosing to go to RAW, I finally arrive there and after beating ECW (yet again) I finally get a shot at Orton and win the title. I then won the World Heavyweight Title in a 3 way with all world titles on the line at Survivor (which is a total screw because you cant win the ECW belt, if you've done it you know why ). Oh and then I get told I can only hold one of the titles, so back to Smackdown! it is. Yeah so anyway, am I fucked now. I have a herniated disc in my back or something, plus an achilles tendon injury. I just had 3 extreme rules matches in a row at December 2 Dismember (making that about 6 Hardcore/Extreme) matches within about 3 weeks. Oh and now I gotta defend the World Heavyweight Title from Kane at Armagedoon. Yay On the bright side, I have a PPV match which isn't a) a number one contenders match or b) some kinda versus ECW match. EDIT: I had a glitch where when I was WWE Champ on RAW my 'name bar' during entrances had me as '* Champion'
  20. Thanks to Ebay and other sources (including my local comic store) I've been collecting a lot of old Marvel comics from the early years. Just read 'Journey Into Mystery #107' which saw Thor battle the Grey Gargoyle, great stuff. I am currently reading 'Amazing Spiderman Annual #1' which is the first time he faces the Sinister Six, also brillian so far. So as for an idea for discussion, what are people's favourite classic/older stories in comic books? Edit: An awesome quote; As Betty Brant and Aunt May are kidnapped by the Sinister Six.... Brant: Doctor Octopus! Why have you brought us here? May: A Doctor? How nice, such a charming soft spoken gentleman. Brant: You haven't heard of him? Don't let him decieve you! May: Now now, we musn't be predujiced against the poor man just because he seems to have some trouble with his arms.
  21. I'm having a clear out of a load of tpb's soon and Im gonna shove them all on Ebay. Thought I'd give you guys first chance to buy any of them first though. All are in good condition, most read only once or twice. Mostly X-Men, but a load of other stuff too. Anyone interested, PM me and I'll send you a list of the ones I'm selling. EDIT: I've got a bunch of X-Men (New X-Men (Morrison run), Uncanny X-Men from around the same time, Uncanny X-Men: The New Age, New Avengers, Astonishing X-Men, a bunch of Civil War tie-ins, and some other stuff too. I'll offer good prices too, 'specially if you buy a few things.
  22. Thats pretty awesome, the only thing is that he looks really old. Not that I'm one to talk, I suck at doing face structures on pictures like that. He actually looks like Terry Funk in the face, haha. But good stuff (Y)
  23. I have read all of the Ultimates stuff, and it was great. Although after reading Essential Avengers recently it makes me wonder if the Ultimates will ever face classic foes like Kang and the Masters of Evil. I know we got Loki, but it took right until the end of series 2. Still an awesome set of stories. Another good note, Amazon have all 3 Ultimate Galactus books in a boxset type thing for only £13.99 - not bad at all.
