Just to sum up how amazing and visually distinct this show and Breaking Bad are, I saw an underwater shot of a pool with a specific lighting filter and immediately assumed it meant we were seeing a character who only appeared in one episode of Breaking Bad before this.

I immediately thought of the cold opens for every episode in Season 2

Finally, the return of an all-time classic Breaking Bad character. Welcome back...

Francesca. I can't wait to see how she goes from this sweet, eager-to-please lady to the jaded, bitter version of herself in BB.

    Best line in BB/BCS history

They did the same thing with "Lisa the Greek." Before FOX had the NFL and thus was in the SuperBowl rotation, they would air "Lisa the Greek" against the SuperBowl and would alter the names of the teams playing from the original Washington and Buffalo

What the fuck are you expecting if not another human big bad? Robo-zombies?

For the show to take a risk and do something outside the box rather than the same formula every season of:

    • The group ends up in a new setting
    • Rick tells everyone how "they can start a life here"
    • Rick vows to just blend in
    • Something happens that causes tension with the group and their new hosts
    • Rick takes over
    • Something bad happens that sets up a big battle
    • In the battle, the camp is destroyed and eventually overrun by walkers
    • Our group ends up on the run, wandering aimlessly (potentially for a half season)
    • Back to step 1 and repeat

Say what you will about LOST, but they were willing to take risks and change the show so it wasn't six years of just trying to get off the island for the first time

Normally I would be right there with you but this is history! :P

I did the same thing in 2006 when the Tigers won the ALCS. Looking at the "AL Champions" hat only hurt more when they shit themselves in the World Series and lost in 5.

  7. This show needs an end date or a major reset. I didn't have cable last year so I missed most of the season and just watched this and was most uninterested. So it looks like we're set up for another season of plotting towards taking down a big bad.

But I still have hope for Glen based on this image:

I don't see how he was "humbled" or where the whole line of "He thought he could just walk in and be an MMA fighter!" comes from.

He never pretended like he was going to be good. He always said he was there to give it a try and nothing more. He was gracious in defeat and wants to get back to work.

This is the only thing I have issue with. In the pre-fight hype video, Punk said of Gall "He's fought tomato cans, that doesn't make you a professional."

Then he refused to shake Gall's hand at the weigh in and said:

    Quote

"I don't know, He was stuttering. He kept repeating, ‘oh you don't want to shake my hand, you don't want to shake my hand' or something like that. I'm not here to shake anybody's hand. I'm here to punch people in the face." (After Saturday night, though, Brooks was unable to do that, landing zero strikes in the fight with Gall that he lost in the first round via submission.)

He thought he could get away with acting like a tough guy and thought he could get away with trying to act like his wrestling persona and that backfired in every way possible. To me, the fact that he used his wrestling music showed that he wasn't taking this as serious as he could. If he wanted to show that this wasn't a publicity stunt  and he was committed to becoming a legitimate fighter, he would stayed as far as possible from anything to do with wrestling, but he didn't. So he can still say how much fun he had and how he's never going to give up, but you know that if he would have pulled the upset he would have talked so much shit after the fight.

They're not even going off the fingerprint honestly - just a few scars, my god.

Glad to hear about the Brendan thing however. I saw that as the real take away from the documentary anyways - he was way more of a victim than Avery.

Reading the decision, makes Brendan's involvement all the more improbable. The police's theory is that Brendan basically walked in on Avery raping and murdering someone and Avery's reaction was not to get Brendan to leave and have no witnesses to his horrible crimes, but invites him and encourages him to get in on and the raping and murdering, while taking breaks to watch TV.

God damn I'm still excited about the Olympics even after all the bullshit.

I was feeling the same way until I watched the HBO Real Sports special on the Olympics. God damn the IOC makes FIFA look like an upstanding organization.

Also, from that, I found out that the Olympic Torch relay was started Joseph Goebbels and the Nazis.

Bojack Horseman is amazing. Seriously, Season 3 is fucking art, it's just perfect.

I laughed and I cried in equal amounts. Episode 11 is the best episode of a comedy I've ever seen, I can't praise it enough.

I think I need the year to get over it emotionally!

I just started watching last night and am through Episode 10 of Season 2. This show has hit me square between the eyes and made my think about EVERYTHING in my life way more than a show about talking horse that is a washed up 90s sitcom star ever should.

If I was an emo high school senior, this definitely would have been my yearbook quote

Boy Meets World cast reunites on set of Girl Meets World

The season 3 finale's going to feature a full cast reunion of BMW, with the likes of Mr. Feeney, Mr. Turner, Corey's parents, Shawn, etc.

Pffft, they left out Frankie and Vader.
