Tom Cruise has the gun pointed at the chick. Taxi driver says don't shoot. Cruise says why. Taxi Driver pops him right in the side of the head, I mean seriously. Cruise was facing north, the taxi driver was facing east, and looking straight at cruise and shot straight ahead.

Yet next scene he's just lost a bit of ear.

They talked the whole movie about how the guy had never done anything before and he freaked out the first time he saw a gun, so yes he is not going to be the best shot. Why is it so unbelievable that he would be off?

In Fight Club, he shoots himself through the cheek, so the only real problem is the blood loss, The Collateral one is a little less explainable I'm assuming he was a shit shot.

Aren't movies supposed to be about suspending disbelief?
