Greatest Song Of The 90's?

Forgive me if this has been posted anytime lately, but I honestly haven't seen it.

I'm always seeing stuff about how 'Smells like teen spirit' is the best song of the 90's. I mean so many people act as if there was nothing anywhere near as good as the song. I certainly like it, but I'm not sure if it honestly is the best of the 90's. It was certainly good and still is, but I must say it's a little over played.

To say it had no competetion is pathetic. There were some big time songs in the 90's if you ask me. I think Madonna's 'Vogue' is certainly huge competetion and a massive song. Same goes for Michael Jacksons 'Earth Song'. There was obviously loads more singles brought out, so what in your opinion is the greatest song of the 90's?

I'd rank Pearl Jam's "Evenflow" above Nirvana's Teen Spirit personally. Stepping away from grunge Red Hot Chili Peppers released some great rock tunes in the 90's aswell. Radiohead, R.E.M., STP, Smashing Pumpkins. So many great alternative bands no rock fan should place below Nirvana. Heart-Shaped Box was the better Nirvana hit anyhow.

Smells Like Teen Spirit defined an entire generation, how was it not the biggest song of the '90's?

Because most of us are regretting that happening (even when we had no chance to), right Squancho?

Second, the topic is the greatest song of the 90s and that song was far from it. It wasn't even Nirvana's best song. (Lithium was the best, IMO)

I agree with many others who have said Hurt by NIN-- Johnny Cash's cover and haunting music video are amazing as well.

The song is with ease one of the most emotional songs I have ever heard and strangely tell two completely different stories ranging on who is performing them.
