Have No Fear…Fantastic Frank Is Here

Even before the fans could really get settled in their seats Fantastic Frank Ferdinand made his way out from the back and down to the ring with a microphone in hand…he had two crutches to aid him to the ring and a bandage that was wrapped over the top of his head. Jeremy Borash and Mike Tenay had hardly even opened Xplosion vocally as “Triple F” (as he was now being affectionately known) started to speak while being helped into the ring…

Fantastic Frank Ferdinand: I bet you people are enjoying every moment of this! (cheers)

Ferdinand managed to bend over enough to climb through the ropes – that were being held open by ringside officials before grabbing his back quickly and making his way into the middle of the ring.

Fantastic Frank Ferdinand: You all disgust me! Last week you all cheered on Sabu as he beat the living hell out of me! This week you boo me, as a crippled and maimed man! (boos) And all this because I am Fantastic!?! Because I admit the truth about being the most Fantastic man in TNA, on Xplosion, hell in the world! I am still undefeated, accept it! I am still the best you have Orlando! Accept it!

The crowd hated that even more as Triple F paused to adjust his crutches and bandage around his head. But before he could continue he was interrupted by the sound of music…the sound of Erik Watts’ music!

Erik Watts: Will you stop moaning and groaning there Mr Craptastic! This is the second time in three weeks I’ve had to come out and stop you boring our crowd half to death! We here in TNA are trying to attract people, not scare them away you know! The truth is Frank they want to see you beaten up, like what Sabu did to you last week – and that’s what I also like to see, you are good at getting beaten up – I mean look at you now! You sell it like a true champ Frank!

Watts removed his glasses and held them in his other hand before continuing…

Erik Watts: Every time you do this Frank I want to make an example of you…

Erik Watts: So next week I’m going to give you your first match back in the ring, but I’m not going to tell you who it is against – or what the stipulations are. If you think you are that “fantastic” you should have no trouble remaining undefeated…

Ferdinand started to speak again but his microphone got cut on the signal from Watts, Watts’ music then hit around the arena to finally shut up Ferdinand for good. The co-Director of Authority had the last laugh tonight.

60% - Fantastic Frank Ferdinand gained 1 point of overness from this segment.

Impact Highlights 1 – Raven and Hardy Continues…

Raven made his way down to the ring…He was accompanied by his New Flock and quickly grabbed a microphone as Slash, Sinn, Naturally Dark and Father James Mitchell stalked around the ring. Raven said how he was happy that despite everything he was able to meet Jeff Hardy in two weeks at Against All Odds. How he would be able to inflict a level of punishment never seen before in TNA, and how he would finally be able to strike Hardy off his list to destiny. He then paused before turning to his Flock in the ring…and announcing that due to the fact the match is Non-Sanctioned and not meant to even be happening that he would require backup around the ring…backup that would allow him to inflict the punishment required without any security or TNA officials running in and ruining his “fun”. So Raven announced that Mitchell, Slash and Sinn would all be ringside for his battle at Against All Odds. But with that Jeff Hardy’s music hit. Hardy strolled out from the tunnel with a microphone and immediately fired back at Raven, he said that if Raven was gonna have backup at the PPV…so was he. To which the Kru replied to! Ron “The Truth” Killings and BG James both came out in response to the request for backup and announced they would also be ringside at Against All Odds. But it didn’t finish there! Killings said he also had some friends that would be happy to cover the “Charismatic Enigma’s” back at the Pay-Per-View…THE INSANE CLOWN POSSE! WOW! THE ICP of Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J came out from the back to join the resistance! They would also be ringside at Against All Odds! The celebrations continued on stage with the ICP, Kru and Hardy as the New Flock looked on from the ring. Both sides had backup now, and “the Noose” was surely now going to go ahead no matter what…in just two weeks!

Tag Team Match

Kazarian and Shane vs. Knuckles and OK Revolution

Following the break Kazarian and Shane were ready for in-ring action against the young duo of Knuckles and OK Revolution. This all X-Division contest started off with Kazarian squaring off against Knuckles in a test of strength – which quickly turned into Knuckles whipping “the Future” off the ropes into an overhead kick! Knuckles then ran off the ropes himself and rolled over into a front splash…and a cover! 1…2…Shane broke up the count however. Kazarian then quickly rolled up Knuckles for a one count and managed to get himself back into contention. Knuckles was on the backfoot for a few moments following that – before managing to reach across and tag in OK Revolution, Revolution blocked a right hand from Kazarian before whipping him off the ropes into a hurricarana, it sent his opponent flying across towards his partner Shane, who then managed to tag himself into the match. Shane then fought off both Knuckles and Revolution as Kazarian pulled himself together and then aided his partner, Knuckles went onto the top rope and jumped off as Shane turned around – but got caught with a Superkick! Knuckles was clean out and (despite not being the legal man) was pinned for the three. Kazarian and Shane had won the match!

Winners: Kazarian and Shane

Impact Highlights 2 – Returning to your Roots

In a rematch from Final Resolution these two men had one hell of an X-Division type match up. Daniels thought he had the thing won in the first five minutes following the Angel’s Wings, but Skipper managed to kick out. Then the same went for Primetime after he nailed the Play of the Day for also only a two! The moves intensified all over the place as both men went for the win, but time ultimately wasn’t on their side as both men laid each other out with superkicks as the final countdown was made to the ten minute limit. With both men out and the time limit up the referee announced the match as a draw…and typically Petey Williams saw a chance to extract some damage on his battered opponents. He quietly made his way down to the ring and slid in behind both Daniels and Skipper with his title belt! He was going to for the second time in two weeks make an impact with the gold that would be up for grabs in two weeks! But Daniels ducked! And Skipper nailed a right hand! BEFORE BOTH MEN NAILED WILLIAMS WITH THE POWERPLEX! Without even thinking about it both Daniels and Skipper had returned to their Triple X roots! Both men just backed away from each other in the ring following that unusual moment…

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling:

Impact! Preview – Friday 11th February 2005

The countdown to Against All Odds is almost complete, this week is the final stopping point. Sunday will see eight matches go down on Pay-Per-View…and in preparation there will be four top matches on this week’s Impact.

The main event will combine the two main event matches surrounding the Jarrett “stable” at Against All Odds…The NWA Heavyweight Champion will see his two opponents for Sunday team up against his team of Sean Waltman and Abyss in tag team action. This will be main preparation for Brown and Savage as they look to the 2 on 1 Handicap match this Sunday, with both admitting they need this in-ring time in order to help themselves towards the gold. But one has to wonder what a bad result would do for their mentality heading into Sunday, mistakes here could just break their challenge heading into Against All Odds…Then there is also another equation to add to this in the form of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, the “outsiders”. They are facing Waltman, Abyss and (other Jarrett associate) Lex Luger this Sunday and will no doubt want to scout part of their opposition.

With so many men involved around this main event co-DOA’s Dusty Rhodes and Erik Watts have announced that security will be in-place ringside, hopefully to stave off the event of a mass brawl…which does look on the cards when looking at Impact. But whatever happens this is going to be the last chance for all of these men to play mental…and physical games with each other before this Sunday, and no one doubts that they will cease this opportunity…

But it doesn’t just all end there. This past week on Xplosion saw Raven and his New Flock send a potent message to Jeff Hardy, when they hung Shark Boy and D-Ray 3000 with Nooses. Hardy however showed no worry as he went on to defeat Christopher Daniels following the Flock’s dismissal from the arena, this must have displeased Raven…who wanted to get further into the mind of the “Charismatic Enigma” before Against All Odds. He now has one more chance this week to make a final impact before “destiny” will fall this Sunday…one way, or another.

Staying with “The Noose” this week will see some of the ringside attendants face-off in a Six-Man Tag Team match…Slash will leave normal partner Sinn to join up with Naturally Dark against Ron “The Truth” Killings and the Insane Clown Posse. Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope will be making their in-ring return to TNA this Friday on Impact.

Elsewhere the return of Sabu to TNA has also created a lot of stirs, the “Homicidal, Suicidal and Genocidal” maniac has already destroyed Fantastic Frank Ferdinand on Xplosion – and now will go up against an old Hardcore nemesis in the Sandman. It will be a Hardcore Rules match between two men who define Hardcore…only this week on Impact.

Also! Expect appearances from Petey Williams, Christopher Daniels, Elix Skipper, Konnan, DDP, Vampiro, Kid Kash and Dallas ahead of their Pay-Per-View matches at Against All Odds.

This is the final stop before Against All Odds, make sure you don’t miss it!

Impact! Spoilers – Friday 11th February 2005

Hey, from this week on I will be sending in the TNA Impact spoilers for you all to read. Before today many different people who attended used to submit the results to us here, but now I personally attend each taping due to moving to Orlando and the general quality of the TNA product recently.

This week was the final show before Against All Odds, and needed to be a selling point for the show. It turned out reasonably in my books, TNA is still heading in a good direction.

Enjoy, Greg Harris

Results:

The show opened this week following the pyro with the video screen showing Jeff Jarrett, Lex Luger, Sean Waltman and Abyss arriving backstage. Jarrett then stopped and turned to his troops…He told Luger, Abyss and Waltman that tonight was his last chance to prepare himself for Against All Odds, and to make his life a lot easier he had with him something important…Jarrett then pulled out a contract from his pocket, it was the contract for his 2 on 1 Handicap defence on Sunday. Jarrett then announced that the contract he was holding was going to make his life a hell of a lot easier. Why? Because while no interference is allowed in the Against All Odds Title match…the contract doesn’t state that. It only states that associates of Jarrett cannot. Waltman then asked what Jarrett was going to do, to which Jarrett told him to wait and see…and that tonight was going to guarantee him victory Sunday!

Glenn Gilberti def. Chris Candido

With that introduction out of the way it was time for the first in-ring Impact action, Chris Candido returned following a two week hiatus to face the NYC’s Glenn Gilberti in a one on one encounter – although typically fellow NYC members Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger gave their man an added backup. The bell sounded as Candido took the match to a cowardly Gilberti and took him down all over the ring. However Gilberti managed to pick up the win at the five minute mark following some interference from Simon Diamond. Diamond caught Candido with a right hand through the ropes that allowed Gilberti to roll him up and grab the trunks for the academic three. Gilberti then grabbed a microphone and announced that this Sunday he would lead the NYC back to their tag team titles…

**1/2 – 74% - 68% - 80%

Backstage Jeff Jarrett is shown at this point leaving his locker room. He wanders down the corridor and eventually comes to a stop…where he is now facing the main TNA locker room for the majority of the wrestlers. He adjusted his title belt on his shoulder and walked in…as the door shuts behind him the camera is left behind focusing on the TNA logo. Jarrett was defiantly up to something here…

Hardcore Rules Match

Sabu def. the Sandman

Sabu following his return to TNA on Xplosion made an Impact appearance here against the Sandman…and typically it didn’t take long for this match to boil down to a hardcore brawl between two of the defining hardcore wrestlers in the world. Sabu was the first to blink on that account and reached for a table as Sandman recuperated following a dropkick. The Homicidal, Genocidal and Suicidal one then set up the table on the outside of the ring as Sandman ran off the opposite ropes and performed a dive through the ropes onto Sabu! It looked sloppy, but done the job as both men crashed back into the steel barricade. From that point on Sandman was calling the shots and nailed his opponent all around the outside of the ring with weapon after weapon. Following a particularly vicious cane shot (that left him dazed) Sabu was whipped face-first into the ring post. It all looked over there as Sandman rolled Sabu’s carcass onto the table and climbed up onto the top rope from inside the ring. Sandman dove off with a Senton Bomb! But Sabu managed to roll out of the way and Sandman went through the table! Sabu dropped an arm over Sandman as the referee made the count, 1…2…Kick out. Sandman then raked Sabu in the eyes immediately and called for a weapon from the crowd…some guy offered him a steel chair. But as Sandman grabbed it he failed to let go…SMACK! The man caught Sandman right in the skull with the steel chair! It was Kid Kash! He was hiding in disguise and had just planted the Sandman with a chair! This allowed Sabu to roll his dazed opponent in the ring and head up on top…for the Arabian Facebuster! 1…2…3! Sabu won! His music hit around the arena as Sandman quickly pulled himself under the bottom rope and out into the crowd – where he grabbed Kash around the neck! But there was more as Dallas floored Sandman from behind with another chair shot! Kash and Dallas left Sandman out cold!

¾* – 62% - 58% - 66%

Next we were shown a pre-taped interview conducted by Mike Tenay before Impact, it featured the ex-Triple X in Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper sitting on chairs in the six-sided ring. Tenay began by calling them both Triple X – which Daniels immediately shot down, he said he wasn’t going to be associated with that name no longer. Daniels talked about how he wasn’t going to be teaming with anyone in a 2 on 1 Handicap match, and how he is going to be out there by himself, Triple X was finished a long time ago and in Daniels’ mind still was finished…Primetime then spoke after waiting for Daniels to finish, he announced that he didn’t agree with a word that Daniels just said, he said this Sunday he is going to go out there and not work against Daniels…but work with him. Daniels asked him what the hell he meant by that…to which Primetime replied that he knew what happened last week was no accident, that Daniels and him hit the Powerplex for a reason, and that it would happen again. Daniels called Skipper crazy…before Primetime finished off what he had to say by announcing that whether Daniels likes it or not, it will be his help that will give him the X-Division title at Against All Odds…Pretty nice interview actually, although a lack of Petey Williams somewhere is interesting.

81%

When the video finished another showed the NWA Champion Jeff Jarrett again. He was still wandering around backstage, Chris Candido then was shown to be having a conversation with him – although the camera was too far away to pick up any sound. The two men smiled and shook hands before Jarrett wandered off again, this time towards the direction of America’s Most Wanted.

81% - Chris Candido gained 1 point of overness from this segment.

6-Man Tag Team Match

Ron “The Truth” Killings and the ICP def. Slash and Naturally Dark

The third match of the night saw the Insane Clown Posse make their in-ring return to TNA alongside Ron “The Truth” Killings. Slash and Naturally Dark were the opponents…and just weren’t a match within the surprisingly clean match that went down. Violent J worked on Andy Douglas to start the match before tagging in Shaggy 2 Dope, who was too strong to fall to any counters that Douglas could produce. He eventually managed to tag Chase Stevens in – who finally managed to take down Shaggy with a spinning elbow off the ropes. The ground-based submission followed as Killings banged on the apron to attract his partners attention away from the hold, the crowd also replied to Killings’ taunts as they started to stamp their feet all around the Soundstage. This allowed Shaggy to break free and tag Killings as Slash tagged himself into the match, he however was quickly dispatched over the top rope to the floor as Naturally Dark spilled back into the ring. The Truth nailed Douglas with the scissors kick to the back of the neck! He then jumped into the splits under a Stevens forearm before nailing a spinning heel kick! Naturally Dark both rolled to the outside with the momentum as Slash nailed Killings from behind, he went for a cheap rollup – but was countered through into the Front Facebuster! Slash was out as Killings hooked the leg for the three!

But then Sinn and Raven were in the ring with Father James Mitchell, they hadn’t accompanied the rest of the Flock to the ring but now were in the combat zone. The New Flock beat down on Killings and the ICP for a while before BG James ran down – and also got taken down. Raven nailed Killings with the Evenflow and stood with his arms aloft as Naturally Dark, Slash and Sinn also put down the Posse and the Truth. Slash and Sinn then were instructed by Mitchell to go and get something from under the ring, any guesses? Yes they pulled out a couple of Nooses! Both men slid back in the ring…when Jeff Hardy’s music hit! The New Flock’s attention was distracted to the entranceway…when Hardy ran in from the opposite direction! He nailed Sinn from behind with a right hand, nailed Douglas with a spinning heel kick, Stevens with a dropkick, ducked Slash into a front faceplant – and scared Mitchell out of the ring to leave him one on one with Raven! Hardy just cleaned house of the Flock! Hardy and Raven stared at each other…before Hardy jumped in with some major right hands, Raven collapsed in the corner of the ring as Hardy just continued to nail Raven over and over with closed fists! Every punch looked brutal as the Flock started to stir. Hardy took them all down again before it was revealed that Raven had been busted open due to the right hands! Raven stumbled back to his feet and walked into Hardy – who nailed the Evenflow! Raven had just been on the end of his own finishing move…and then had the Noose placed over his head on the mat. Hardy posed over Raven’s body before heading to the back…

*1/4 – 64% - 62% - 68%

There was then a pause before the Kru ran into Konnan and Vampiro backstage. The situation got heated really quickly before Diamond Dallas Page intervened. He mentioned that while Killings and James are the next logical step for Vampiro and Konnan…they won’t be able to take it without beating him Sunday. DDP then walked off as Vampiro and Konnan looked on.

Tag Team Match

Abyss and Sean Waltman def. Randy Savage and Monty Brown

With that it was now main event time. Jeff Jarrett took a place at the announcers table while Kevin Nash and Scott Hall took a place in the front row of the crowd, all the wrestling elements were in place…and then the final element came down in the form of the ringside security. Eight security officials lined the ring as the four men made their entrances. With everyone in the ring referee Rudy Charles called for the bell as Monty Brown and Sean Waltman started the match…with the Alpha Male taking the early advantage with some quick paced fists – before catching Waltman off the ropes into a Fall Away Slam. He then made the first cover of the match for a quick two count. Waltman decisively snuck back into proceedings with an elbow to the ribs and a running forearm. Abyss then tagged himself into the match and worked over the Alpha Male with numerous strong and heavy attacks. This eventually culminated with Abyss nailing a massive big boot and making the tag back to his partner…who Brown surprisingly speared out of nowhere! The crowd came alive at this point as Brown turned and made the hot tag to the Macho Man! Savage took down Waltman with a right hand – and then ducked Abyss into the corner of the ring! Waltman ran at Savage and was sidestepped so that he actually flew into Abyss! He then stumbled out of the corner into another right hand! Abyss however wasn’t going down so easy and countered a whip off the ropes into a clothesline, he then managed to tag himself legally into the match as the Macho Man slowly edged his way over to Brown. Abyss attempted to grab Savage – but got kicked in the legs over and over until he backed off, thus allowed the tag to be made! Brown steamed back in and ducked Abyss…only to continue running and pounce Waltman through the ropes and off the apron! Brown then called for it with Abyss, he was going for the deciding Pounce…but ran into the Black Hole Slam instead! Abyss hooked the leg! 1…2…3! That was enough! Abyss and Waltman defeated Brown and Savage! But it wasn’t finished there as Nash and Hall then hit the ring! They managed to get past security and nail both Abyss and Waltman with right hands, Luger also joined in with the brawl as he ran down from the back. It was short lived however as security filled the ring and dragged all seven men to the backstage area in different directions…just leaving Jarrett sitting at the announcers table.

**1/4 – 74% - 74% - 75%

Jarrett though made his way into the ring and took a microphone. He announced that tonight he had convinced the TNA locker room of what their best interests are as to Sunday’s NWA Title match, and that he wouldn’t need Luger, Abyss or Waltman to back him up…he had proven to them that he is the man who deserves to be at the top of the mountain, and who deserves to lead TNA…The crowd just couldn’t believe it, they couldn’t believe Double J’s words. Jarrett then finished his speech by telling Erik Watts and Dusty Rhodes to shove their fingers up their asses because he has all the power in the back and not them. But then attention was turned to the two TNA entrance tunnels…as TNA superstars were streaming out from all directions. Chris Candido, Amazing Red, BG James, DDP, Abismo Negro and AMW to name just a few all took positions surrounding the ring…there had to be 25 or so TNA wrestlers present. After a long pause it was Chris Harris who eventually took a microphone. He told Jarrett that he’s wrong, he hasn’t had and never will have the TNA locker room behind him. As far as TNA is concerned…they don’t want Jeff Jarrett to be the NWA Heavyweight Champion…they don’t like Jeff Jarrett, they never have and none of them ever will. Everyone nodded in agreement as the show ended with Jarrett trapped in the ring…He had been proven wrong and now would have it all to do this Sunday at Against All Odds.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling Presents:

AGAINST ALL ODDS 2005

Sunday 13th February, Live! On Pay-Per-View!

Show Preview:

This Sunday brings a night of Handicap action from TNA Wrestling as “Against All Odds” hits Pay-Per-View. Live from Soundstage 21, Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida there are eight personal matches signed to take place inside the six-sided ring…

The biggest of all being the main event – which will see three men battle in a 2 on 1 match for the NWA Heavyweight Championship. The champion Jeff Jarrett will defend against Monty Brown and Randy Savage in what is a culmination of months worth of hype, and build-up. The Alpha Male has been chasing the gold since November…but has always had the Macho Man just ahead of him in the packing order. This time he is on the same level…and now has his opportunity to reach the top spot in TNA. Savage meanwhile has fallen short on two occasions now, he was the last man eliminated at Turning Point in the elimination match for the gold – and was last month screwed out of becoming champion when Lex Luger debuted in TNA. But now things are different, Jarrett’s associates have all been banned from ringside, the TNA locker room have turned the back on their champion…and now Jarrett will have to do it on his own. Make sure you don’t miss this!

Jarrett’s associates meanwhile have another challenge. When their leader turned his back on Kevin Nash and Scott Hall he started an avalanche of trouble…which now Lex Luger, Sean Waltman and Abyss have to sort out. It will be a 3 on 2 Handicap match…and the “Outsiders” will not loose this one easily. This is a big challenge for both teams, who will come out on top? Find out Sunday!

The other main headline heading into Against All Odds surrounds the match between “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy and Raven. It will be for the first time ever! These two men will compete in a non-sanctioned match…where the loser will be hung from a Noose! Distasteful – yes, but this is the mind of Raven, and there is nothing tasteful about that. He alongside his New Flock is chasing his destiny of becoming the NWA Champion…and in Raven’s eyes Hardy needs to be struck off his list, permanently. With the rest of the Flock, the Kru and the Insane Clown Posse ringside this will be hardly a clean affair, but this is going to only end one way…with one man in a world of trouble.

The notorious tag team known as Triple X this Sunday will return to TNA…as Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper team up for the X-Division Championship against Petey Williams, in what is destined to be an amazing match. But to say Triple X is “united” would be wrong, they hate each other…and this could be their downfall this Sunday. Primetime himself has said that the Fallen Angel will return to his roots and help him and himself…because it’s who he is. Daniels meanwhile claims that he will not do that…and will go on to become the champion. But it has happened before. What WILL happen here? It’s still impossible to say, and there will only be one way to find out. Tune in to Against All Odds, this Sunday on Pay-Per-View!

Also! More handicap action will go down as different wrestlers look to win…Against All Odds.

What a show this is going to be, it’s live at 8pm this Sunday – only on PPV. Purchase now for only $29.95 to see three hours of top TNA wrestling action. It will be a night to remember.
