Impact! Spoilers – Friday 28th January 2005

Sent in by Jay Rutherford, from Orlando.

Results:

We are treated to a little highlights video on last weeks show as we are getting into our seats, showed all the stuff that went down last week surrounding Erik Watts, Monty Brown the NWA Title etc. Nice to see the arena looking reasonably full as well, it wasn’t packed but the Soundstage recently has really been bumping up the weekly attendances – which can only be a good thing for TNA.

Then it was straight into our first match as Chris Sabin and Elix Skipper made their way down to the ring, before Christopher Daniels (alike Skipper last week) joined Mike Tenay and Don West on commentary.

Elix Skipper def. Chris Sabin

Good little X-Division match. Daniels attempted to get involved to screw Primetime…but it failed as Skipper kicked out following the interference. He then nailed the Play of the Day for the three over Sabin. Daniels then attacked Skipper following the match…until Erik Watts was drawn out. He told both men to stop brawling, and then announced that they would at Against All Odds both get the X-Division title shot! It would be the return of XXX as Skipper and Daniels face Petey Williams! Following the announcement Petey Williams himself ran through the crowd followed by Jonny Fairplay – he levelled both men with the title belt before nailing the Canadian Destroyer on Sabin. A typical pose with the belt followed. And another match for Against All Odds was signed! Nice.

The video screen then showed Dusty Rhodes walking around backstage. He turned into a room and found Raven sitting in a circle of candles…while his New Flock lurked away in the darkness. Rhodes told Raven there was no way that Erik Watts was going to sanction any match involving a Noose for Pay-Per-View. Raven replied with how that was a good thing, because the match didn’t need a referee. Raven then told Dusty he couldn’t stop the match from happening, because it would one way or another. Dusty thought about it and then agreed…just because Watts wasn’t going to sanction it, didn’t mean it wasn’t going to happen! Dusty sure has got an evil streak recently! He then left the room as Raven turned his attention back to the noose…

Tag Team Match

American Patriots def. Slash and Sinn

Slash and Sinn then made their way down to the ring as the new Patriots had their first match together (this being numbers 2 and 3). They didn’t look like a new team though, they looked like they deserved to be the tag champions as they took control for most of the match. However Slash fought his team back into things…until Jeff Hardy made his impact on proceedings. He cost the New Flock the match before backing up the ramp with his damage done. That of course being a message to Raven.

There was then a pause as the ring was set up with a carpet, it was time for the return of Piper’s Pit…or In the Pit with Piper as it was called here for copyright reasons. With the ring ready Piper and Jimmy Snuka took to it. Piper then welcomed his guest…THE SANDMAN!? Sandman was back in TNA! He celebrated around the crowd, and I managed to touch the hardcore legend as he pushed past me on his way to the ring. But Piper’s actual interviewing didn’t last for long as Kid Kash and Dallas came out from the back. This lead to Kash challenging Sandman to take on Dallas right then and there…so he did!

Sandman def. Dallas

Sandman defeated Dallas quickly as a mass brawl broke out with Kash, Snuka and Piper also in the ring. Then the three faces cleared house as Piper took another microphone. He asked Sandman to team with him and Piper at Against All Odds to take on Kash and Dallas. Sandman’s response? NO! Wow, that wasn’t the logical way to go! He nailed both men with his Singapore Cane before calling for some beers! Kash and Dallas then returned to the ring thinking he was with them…but only got the same treatment! Sandman wasn’t going to team with either! Good segment here from TNA, liked it a lot – and leaves some great questions to be answered heading towards the PPV.

Following another pause to clear up the ring a bit it was time for more in-ring action.

Tag Team Match

Konnan and Vampiro def. Diamond Dallas Page and Chris Harris

Konnan won following his Rolling Clothesline/Lariet of doom. He pinned DDP and both he and Vampiro mocked Page following the win. The match did its job, nothing more. Probably the only time where TNA didn’t try something different in a segment this week.

Next came the build for the main event. Jeff Jarrett was shown walking around the back towards the ring in his wrestling attire. Interestingly he walked past a very suspect parked limo…and then the window came down as he had gone out of shot to reveal the face of KEVIN NASH! WO! This was going to prove very interesting! Nash was back in TNA and Hall seemingly had to be with him!

Jeff Jarrett vs. Monty Brown went to 10 Minute time limit

Neither man could get a pin inside the ten minute time limit, although Brown had just nailed the Pounce on Jarrett when the time ran out. He looked the stronger man, thus highlighting how he was in a prime position to win the title. Then all hell broke loose…

Following the match came the unsurprising beatdown from Abyss and Lex Luger. They both ran down from the back and attacked Brown in a 3 on 1 assault. BUT THEN KEVIN NASH’S MUSIC HIT! THE OUTSIDERS WERE BACK! Nash and Hall hit the ring! Nash nailed Jarrett with a big boot and the brawl escalated! Now the team of Nash/Hall and Brown were taking over as Jarrett/Luger and Abyss were on the backfoot! BUT WAIT! SEAN WALTMAN RAN DOWN FROM THE BACK?! WALTMAN?! WHAT THE HELL?! Fuck, I did not see that coming from anywhere! He jumped into the feud and attacked Nash as the heels started to get the momentum back! The brawl continued to escalate as now the 4 on 3 advantage to Jarrett’s army was taking affect. But there was still one man missing, and here he came! The Macho Man steamed down from the back and evened up the odds! Finishers were nailed all over the place as eventually Jarrett’s team of Luger, Abyss and Sean Waltman all retreated to the outside!

Erik Watts then came out from the back with a microphone. He said that he was impressed by the return of so many guys in one night…and also said they all now had got themselves a part to play at Against All Odds. Because at that event it would now be Kevin Nash and Scott Hall against Sean Waltman, Abyss and Lex Luger in a 3 on 2 Handicap match! What a way to end the show! This ranks up there for end of show swerves with DDP’s return and Raven’s swerve, what an Impact this was. Probably my favourite to date! Amazing show. Great momentum from TNA, I know I’ll be ordering Against All Odds on this alone! Make sure you guys see this show on Friday, it should translate to TV well!

I don't want to give anything away as I read the spoilers and I know some other people won't have so I'll try to keep this somewhat general.

I love the way you book with what would appear no logic at all, in the sense that I sure as hell never think of it and isn't the sort of thing I would expect in the situations, but it damn sure works. It's different and is exactly what TNA actually need to become a global company.

And for those who haven't read the spoilers, I have and I still can't wait until I see the exploding barbwire match in its full glory. I don't know how Jarret will come back from that one. ;)

Hey,

Well with a new narrator times have to change...and from now there is a change occuring around here.

Owen liked to show you guys the spoilers and full show results, each week. But, I meanwhile prefer to just have spoiler writeups - it's just the way I like to do things. I tried it Owen's way...but I guess I don't have the commitment to give the 110% he did to this while he was telling the tale.

So, with that look out for the new formatting for this diary...

Impact Preview, Impact Spoilers, Xplosion Preview, Xplosion Shorthand Writeup and Pay-Per-Views...fully as per usual.

So with that, until we meet again...

"Hardcore Wildcard" Added to Against All Odds!

Erik Watts announced today on TNAWrestling.com that he and Dusty Rhodes had signed a sixth match to TNA's Against All Odds Pay-Per-View. Following the return of the Sandman this week to Impact - and his subsiquent actions towards Kid Kash, Dallas, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka the two co-DOA's have announced a matchup which will follow up all five men's stances on each other.

It will be known as the "Hardcore Wildcard" match, with a 2 on 2...on 1 stipulation in place. One man from each team of Kash/Dallas and Piper/Snuka will be legal as under normal tag rules, while the Sandman will be able to roam around and be entirely legal throught the match - and also be the only participant able to use his hardcore nature to his advantage! Sandman can not be disqualified for his actions, and this will definatly add a more odd aspect to Against All Odds!

Xplosion Preview – Tuesday 1st February 2005

Xplosion this week has the best to offer from TNA Wrestling…from Impact highlights to great in-ring action. With that it has to be said this week’s show is one NOT to be missed!

The main headline heading into Xplosion is the already announced main event. It will be the return of the “Genocidal, Homicidal and Suicidal” Sabu to TNA…and by the order of Erik Watts he will be facing the undefeated Fantastic Frank Ferdinand! This is going to be a big match for both of these men for entirely different reasons! Can Sabu return to TNA and get back to winning ways? Or can Ferdinand prove his doubters wrong…and prove he can hang in the big leagues of wrestling? AND the big leagues of TNA? Only one way to find out! Tune in Tuesday!

There is also three other matches signed to Xplosion this week. Tag Team action will see Abismo Negro and Hector Garza team up against the returning Shark Boy and D-Ray 3000. The Mexican Duo of Negro and Garza have made an impression on the tag team division following their great match against Kazarian and Shane last week…and rumour has it these two great superstars will be teaming with each other for a while yet.

Two of Xplosions younger talents this week also once again have got themselves tricky single encounters. Knuckles (who debuted last week) has got a tricky match against Sonjay Dutt, while OK Revolution is facing the experience of Chris Candido. Both Revolution and Knuckles are great talents, and it will prove interesting to see if they can come out on top over their more experienced opponents. This week’s show is very much youth against experience…

Also! As usual this past week’s Impact will be highlighted alongside some exclusive comments that can only be found here on Xplosion!

Make sure you tune in Tuesday, only on MTV!

Confirmed Matches:

Fantastic Frank Ferdinand vs. Sabu

OK Revolution vs. Chris Candido

Tag Team Match

Abismo Negro and Hector Garza vs. Shark Boy and D-Ray 3000

Knuckles vs. Sonjay Dutt

Xplosion Results – Tuesday 1st February 2005

Against All Odds Update

Xplosion this week opened with Jeremy Borash and Mike Tenay hyping the Against All Odds PPV by running down the current card – and especially reminding fans of the new match added to that event this past week on TNAWrestling.com. After giving their comments on all six current matches they sent the action down to ringside where OK Revolution was making his way down to the ring…

88% - Jeff Jarrett gained 1 point of overness from this segment.

Chris Candido vs. OK Revolution

Nice opening match here. Candido came down and took the match to his younger, more inexperienced opponent in the early stages with Revolution struggling to get any sort of foothold into the match.  Candido cleverly kept him grounded and away from the ropes as much as possible as he continued to plant move after move. However Revolution took his in-ring intelligence up to the next level here…he countered a ground-based headlock over into pin on Candido for a two count, and this then proved to stun Candido as Revolution took him down with a 360 Spinning Atomic Drop! He covered again for another two! Candido saw enough was enough and went to nail his Blonde Bombshell finishing move…but Revolution countered it and turned Candido around into a Scoop Slam! Revolution then made his way up onto the top rope and nailed the Shooting Star Press! He hooked the leg! 1…2…3! And also managed to win the match! This was a great win for OK Revolution – and Candido looked stunned in the ring as the winner celebrated his way up the ramp to the back.

Winner: OK Revolution

Time: 6:14

Match Rating: *1/2

60% - 45% - 76% - Chris Candido lost 1 point of overness from this match. OK Revolution gained 2 points of overness from this match.

Impact Highlights 1 – The X-Division Situation

A brief video aired here showing the end of the Chris Sabin and Elix Skipper match from Impact…

…Daniels attempted to get involved to screw Primetime…but it failed as Skipper kicked out following the interference. And another match for Against All Odds was signed with the champion having laid out all of the main X-Division elements in TNA!

88%

-: commercial break :-

Knuckles vs. Sonjay Dutt

Xplosion returned to in-ring action following the break as Knuckles had his second-ever TNA match up against Sonjay Dutt. Knuckles went on the attack from the word go and took down Dutt in the first lockup, before then countering out of the second into a monkey toss. Dutt looking rather panicked ran at Knuckles and was taken down with a Snapmere for a two count, and from here Knuckles used his speed and agility to wear down on the “Playa from the Himalayas”. However the momentum changed back towards Dutt as he planted a massive superkick to Knuckles’ chin as he dove off the top turnbuckle. This scored him a two count of his own as he looked to finish off his in-experienced opponent. Dutt whipped Knuckles off the ropes, only for Knuckles to grab onto the opposite ropes and hold himself steady. Dutt came from behind and caught the rollup! 1…2…Knuckles rolled through! 1…2…3! Knuckles won! Referee Fred Richards held his arm up in victory as Dutt just sat on the mat looking up at the man who had just defeated him. Knuckles offered a hand up, and Dutt accepted it as another Impact highlights video started to play.

Winner: Knuckles

Time: 7:56

Match Rating: ***3/4

69% - 38% - 100% - Sonjay Dutt lost 1 point of overness from this match. Knuckles gained 2 points of overness from this match.

Impact Highlights 2 – In the Pit with Piper

The video package started with Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka making their way down to the tartan clad ring…

…Piper then welcomed his guest…THE SANDMAN!? Sandman was back in TNA! He celebrated around the crowd as usual. But Piper’s actual interviewing didn’t last for long as Kid Kash and Dallas came out from the back. This lead to Kash challenging Sandman to take on Dallas right then and there…so he did!

The final image of the Sandman standing over four bodies in the ring was frozen as Xplosion went to another commercial break.

55% - Rowdy Roddy Piper lost 2 points of overness from this segment.

Just some news and notes for you...

Impact Extra...

Although it wasn't noted in this week's spoilers there was a promo video edited in for this weeks Impact. It was shown between the tag team match and "In The Pit With Piper" segments...

The action then was taken away from the ring momentarily as a promo video started to play. It had the Kru’s theme music in the background and started off with shots of Ron “The Truth” Killings and BG James rapping and dancing around. That then changed though as it then showed Killings’ microphone work from the week before – where he stated that good friends of the Kru would be returning to TNA in two weeks. The video then faded out to darkness before the distorted cartoon face of a clown came through the background, it was gone in a flash to reveal…

“Coming to the Impact Zone…NEXT WEEK!”

Female Roster Cuts Made

TNA today announced the release of four female members of its roster. Desire, Trinity, Goldylocks and Traci haven't featured at all on any programming recently and due to this were let go from their open contracts yesterday. Despite their open contracts not costing TNA money per month the decision was taken that they would not be required in the future for any programming. This leaves just Lollipop as the only female worker on the TNA roster, however rumour has it she might be the next departure from the company. Time will tell on that one.

Impact! Preview – Friday 4th February 2005

Impact this week once again hits FSN from the Impact Zone at Universal Studios…and with two massive main-event calibre matches signed by Co-Director of Authorities Dusty Rhodes and Erik Watts that will concentrate on two of TNA’s finest areas…the main event and the X-Division.

Firstly the NWA Heavyweight Champion himself will step into the ring, and go face-to-face with the two men who made their dramatic return to TNA last week…Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Nash and Hall hadn’t been seen since before Final Resolution when they were kidnapped by Randy Savage…but their issue now isn’t with the Macho Man, it is with Jarrett himself. Backstage gossip has it that Nash and Hall are not happy after Double J failed to help them get back into the States, and now are after revenge against the man who’s back they had for two months. Jarrett meanwhile since then has taken on the help of Sean Waltman and Lex Luger – who are both also going to be at Impact. However he has turned towards his monster Abyss for backup this week in what will be a massive 2 on 2 tag team encounter! Will Jarrett survive against two men with a true vendetta against him? Or will Nash and Hall make their in-ring returns with a massive win? Tune in to find out!

Secondly this week there is a Final Resolution rematch inside the X-Division competitors…as Christopher Daniels faces Elix Skipper ahead of their 2 on 1 Handicap match against Petey Williams at Against All Odds. Both Primetime and the Fallen Angel were left down in the ring following an assault from the champion last week…but typically blamed each other for what happened. These two men do not get on, and this match is sure to be an excellent wrestling encounter…while also having the underlying dislike very much at boiling point.

Raven has himself announced that he and his New Flock will be opening this week’s show with some news surrounding “the Noose” at Against All Odds. While very little is known about this match at the moment it is felt that Raven is set to make some announcement surrounding the rules, or running of this unusual sounding stipulation itself. But knowing Raven and his mysterious nature there will probably be more questions than answers…and that’s not to consider how Jeff Hardy will involve himself in proceedings.

Last week saw the Kru of Ron “The Truth” Killings and BG James air a promo video highlighting the return this week of some friends of theirs. Three weeks ago came the first announcement but this week is when it happens! There are many rumours as to who these friends are…but the only way to truly find out will be to tune in this week! Who are the Kru bringing to TNA?!

Also! Two other matches have been signed to take place inside the six-sided ring. Both are tag team encounters, with firstly the team of Abismo Negro and Hector Garza taking on Shane and Kazarian, and then secondly a big encounter between America’s Most Wanted and Naturally Dark. Both of these matches knowing the competitors are going to be top-rated affairs, and ones defiantly not to miss!

Plus! More announcements for Against All Odds are expected from Dusty Rhodes and Erik Watts as the countdown to the Pay-Per-View hits the two weeks mark.

Make sure you don’t miss Impact this week, Friday on FSN!

Confirmed Matches:

Tag Team Match

Jeff Jarrett and Abyss vs. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall

Christopher Daniels vs. Elix Skipper

Impact! Spoilers – Friday 4th February 2005

E-mailed in by George Jacob from Tampa, Florida…

Hey all. I just arrived back from this week’s Impact tapings in Orlando and thought I would tell you all what went down…

Results:

Impact opened with all us in the crowd being shown a video package that seemingly will open the show on Friday. It showed the culmination of the show last week involving the returns of Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman…and how it left Jeff Jarrett on the backfoot.

72%

With that complete there was a pause before Raven made his way down to the ring. He was accompanied by his New Flock and quickly grabbed a microphone as Slash, Sinn, Naturally Dark and Father James Mitchell stalked around the ring. Raven said how he was happy that despite everything he was able to meet Jeff Hardy in two weeks at Against All Odds. How he would be able to inflict a level of punishment never seen before in TNA, and how he would finally be able to strike Hardy off his list to destiny. He then paused before turning to his Flock in the ring…and announcing that due to the fact the match is Non-Sanctioned and not meant to even be happening that he would require backup around the ring…backup that would allow him to inflict the punishment required without any security or TNA officials running in and ruining his “fun”. So Raven announced that Mitchell, Slash and Sinn would all be ringside for his battle at Against All Odds. But with that Jeff Hardy’s music hit. Hardy strolled out from the tunnel with a microphone and immediately fired back at Raven, he said that if Raven was gonna have backup at the PPV…so was he. To which the Kru replied to! Ron “The Truth” Killings and BG James both came out in response to the request for backup and announced they would also be ringside at Against All Odds. But it didn’t finish there! Killings said he also had some friends that would be happy to cover the “Charismatic Enigma’s” back at the Pay-Per-View…THE INSANE CLOWN POSSE! WOW! THE ICP of Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J came out from the back to join the resistance! They would also be ringside at Against All Odds! The celebrations continued on stage with the ICP, Kru and Hardy as the New Flock looked on from the ring. Both sides had backup now, and “the Noose” was surely now going to go ahead no matter what…in just two weeks!

69%

Backstage Monty Brown was shown arriving at the arena. But he quickly walked into someone who he probably didn’t want to see…the Macho Man himself. Savage stopped Brown and offered a hand, only for the Alpha Male to just look at it. Savage told Brown that he was lucky that he showed up last week…or else Jarrett and his goons would have destroyed him. Typically Brown stated he didn’t need any help…but Savage reminded him that he seemingly did…both men backed away from each other with a most apparent friction present. And to think these two men would be on the same team against Jarrett at Against All Odds!

86% - Monty Brown gained 2 points of overness from this segment.

Tag Team Match

Kazarian and Shane def. Hector Garza and Abismo Negro

Good to see Kazarian and Shane here, and a good win over Garza and Negro. Shane nailed a superkick on Negro for the win, but following the match there was an interesting altercation between Negro and Garza. Both men were discussing something, and at one moment it looked like a fight was gonna break out…however Garza instead just headed to the back on his own. This left Negro in the ring looking bemused…it was confusing due to the lack of the English language use from either man, from what I could hear in the front row anyways, but seems like these two men are heading towards problem central.

**1/4 – 65% - 50% - 81%

We were then shown on the video screen the two Co-Director of Authorities in Erik Watts and Dusty Rhodes. Both men were deep in discussion before they shook hands announcing it was a done deal…at Against All Odds there would be the first ever…X-Division Cluster Handicap Match. It would be 2 on 1 on 2 on 1 match with the winner…or winners being the no 1 contender or contenders for the X-Division title! Bit of a mouthful to me…but at least they are straying away from having another 2 on 1 Handicap match or something. Dusty then announced the entrants as being…Chris Sabin, Kazarian and Shane, Hector Garza (interestingly without Abismo Negro) and the final team of D-Ray 3000 and Shark Boy.

79%

The camera then cut away from that to show Kevin Nash and Scott Hall arriving at the arena! Both men stepped out of their limo and made their way across the locker room. Tonight they would of course be facing Jeff Jarrett and Abyss in tag team action!

72%

Tag Team Match

America’s Most Wanted def. Naturally Dark

The second match on the show this week was also tag team action. It showed AMW defeat Naturally Dark (ala the Naturals for all you who missed the allegiance with Raven’s New Flock) following the Death Sentence. Following the match the NYC made a surprise attack…Gilberti, Swinger and Diamond all laid into AMW as Stevens and Douglas looked on. They then also joined in on this 5 on 2 assault! But wait! The Patriots ran down from the back! The Tag Champions were here! Patriots 2 and 3 both took it to Naturally Dark as AMW fought off the NYC and ultimately cleared the ring! Watts came out following this and announced that due to everyone’s actions here they had all signed themselves into the final Agaisnt All Odds match. NWA Tag Team Titles on the line, 5 on 4 Elimination Handicap match. The last man or men remaining would win the titles…and of course, if there is more than one person per team left on one side then the match will turn into a free for all, where there would then be one final man standing!

***1/2 – 78% - 67% - 89%

Christopher Daniels vs. Elix Skipper went to 10 Minute Time Limit

In a rematch from Final Resolution these two men had one hell of an X-Division type match up. Daniels thought he had the thing won in the first five minutes following the Angel’s Wings, but Skipper managed to kick out. Then the same went for Primetime after he nailed the Play of the Day for also only a two! The moves intensified all over the place as both men went for the win, but time ultimately wasn’t on their side as both men laid each other out with superkicks as the final countdown was made to the ten minute limit. With both men out and the time limit up the referee announced the match as a draw…and typically Petey Williams saw a chance to extract some damage on his battered opponents. He quietly made his way down to the ring and slid in behind both Daniels and Skipper with his title belt! He was going to for the second time in two weeks make an impact with the gold that would be up for grabs in two weeks! But Daniels ducked! And Skipper nailed a right hand! BEFORE BOTH MEN NAILED WILLIAMS WITH THE POWERPLEX! Without even thinking about it both Daniels and Skipper had returned to their Triple X roots! Both men just backed away from each other in the ring following that unusual moment…

***1/2 – 82% - 78% - 87%

Backstage DDP was shown chatting to Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka…when four men approached them. Kid Kash, Dallas, Vampiro and Konnan all walked into shot and looked across at their current respective issues. Kash then after a pause made the first move by spitting into Piper’s face! Hotrod wiped his face with his hand…before replying with a slap! This lead to all the men nailing each other with fists, and the start of a 3 on 4 brawl! The heel group of Vampiro, Konnan, Dallas and Kash took down their three opponents eventually…before looking down at what they had done. But then Dallas was nailed with a Singapore Cane in the back of the head! Kash then got nailed as he turned around! It was the Sandman! He also nailed Vampiro before kicking Konnan in the gut and smashing the cane over the back of his head! Now there were eight casualties…and Sandman just looked down at the mess before taking another drag on his cigarette…

62% - Dallas gained 1 point of overness from this segment.

Kevin Nash and Scott Hall def. Jeff Jarrett and Abyss

The Outsiders won their return match in TNA, following the unsurprising ref bump and lots of other interference. When referee Mike Posey was taken out with an accidental big boot from Nash it drew out Lex Luger and Sean Waltman from the back. They laid into Nash before Abyss then caught the Black Hole Slam! Hall meanwhile was taken down with a massive chair shot from Jarrett! This had turned into an ugly assault…as the referee remained down the attacks continued. But then Monty Brown’s music hit…and both he and Randy Savage came out TOGETHER from the back! They stormed the ring, and Brown immediately caught Waltman with the Pounce! Savage nailed Jarrett with right hands as Hall and Nash also started to return to life! This four on four brawl was everywhere inside the six-sided ring…before everyone was taken outside to the floor someway or another…just leaving Nash with Jarrett! The referee was stirring as Nash just looked down on the NWA Heavyweight Champion – who was begging on his knees! But wait! LOW BLOW to Nash! Jarrett then signalled for a Jacknife Powerbomb! He was gonna nail Nash with his own finisher! But Nash countered and pulled up Jarrett into the real deal! Nash made the cover as the referee made the count! 1…2…3! Nash defeated Jarrett! Everyone on the outside stopped brawling following Nash’s music hitting around the arena…Waltman, Abyss and Luger all looked shocked. They couldn’t believe Jarrett had lost it!

**3/4 – 77% - 74% - 81%

Savage and Brown meanwhile joined Nash and Hall in the ring…and Brown took a microphone. Jarrett was aided to the back as Brown started to speak…he announced that he didn’t really give a damn who left Against All Odds with the NWA Title…AS LONG AS IT WASN’T JARRETT! And with that the Alpha Male and Macho Man raised each others arm! They were now going to give a united front at Against All Odds! And that was gonna leave Jeff Jarrett with a hell of a job with none of his faction being allowed to interfere anyways! I love this product at the moment, great ending, great show, and Against All Odds like Final Resolution and Turning Point is going to be a top PPV!

AMW Sign Written Contracts

Today TNA revealed after lengthy negotiations they had managed to sign two main players with the company into written contracts. Chris Harris and James Storm (who of course are known jointly as America's Most Wanted) had both resisted signing written deals with TNA for the past few months. This being due to wanting to work elsewhere for another promotion in the States - and not holding out for a WWE contract offer as was rumoured by various media outlets. Negotations actually began back in December when TNA first looked at getting written contracts in their pockets due to the departures of AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn, but until today Harris and Storm had not reached what they felt was an acceptable deal. Now both men are said to be under contract for 14 months each and very happy with what the future holds.

Jeff Hardy Heading Out?

Jeff Hardy today is rumoured to be on the verge of leaving TNA Wrestling. Hardy's contract expires in two months time and due to his antics and general attitude on occasion it seems that he will not be offered a new deal. Many wrestling media circles are already surprised by this rumour as they would expect TNA to keep someone under contract who has that name value...however TNA insiders believe Hardy just isn't worth the hassle - and his paycheck could easily go elsewhere to another wrestler or wrestlers who have the same name prospect that Hardy does, and thus the same drawing power.

WWE Superstar(s) Heading In?

With that news comes another rumour linking TNA to one or two current and ex-WWE superstars. Some roster cuts were made recently from both RAW and Smackdown - while there is also expected to be more in the future. One TNA superstar admitted he wouldn't be surprised if two WWE names came into the company within the next one or two months...but ultimatly, time will tell on that front.

Finally...The Super X Cup Returns!

Leaving all the contractual talk TNA today revealed that following Against All Odds the highly-rated Super X Cup will return for the "2005" edition. The trophy that Chris Sabin won previously has been recalled and will be up for grabs in a now 16-Man Elimination Tournament...that will culminate at the Destination X Pay-Per-View in March. The tourny will feature both currently contracted TNA wrestlers, ex-TNA wrestlers and other stars from Mexico, Japan and Great Britian. Everyone associated with TNA Wrestling is sure this year will see another successful competition with the finest althletes and X-Division wrestlers the world has to offer. Friday the 18th of February on Impact will spell the start of this...so keep your eyes peeled. Futher announcements will come in the future as to who will be wrestling, and when. We personally cannot wait for this thing to get underway!

8 - Jeff Jarrett © vs. Randy Savage and Monty Brown

See the match below for who I think the belt will end up going to.

Against All Odds

3 on 2 Handicap Match

5 - Abyss, Lex Luger and Sean Waltman vs. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall

Really, the only guy who could gain anything would be Abyss. So I see Hall and Nash winning the match, but Abyss going crazy on Lex and Sean at the end so he can challenge Jarrett next month.

The Noose…

Unsanctioned Match – With No Referee

What can I say? I hate Jeff Hardy.

I figure that I've said the handicap people would lose thus far. Might as well have one where they win.

Against All Odds

2 on 1 Handicap Match

TNA X-Division Championship

When it comes to these title matches, I don't see the partners working together as well, and by hook or by crook, Petey will retain here.

Against All Odds

2 on 2 on 1 “Hardcore Wildcard” Handicap Match

2 - Kid Kash and Dallas vs. Jimmy Snuka and Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. the Sandman

The Against All Odds Prediction Contest…

Matches:

Predict the winners and the match order

(1-8 with 8 Being the Main Event, and 1 the Opener)…

8Against All Odds

2 on 1 Handicap Match

NWA Heavyweight Championship

Jeff Jarrett © vs. Randy Savage and Monty Brown

It's time for Jarrett to lose we all know that but please god don't give it to Savage i could accept a Savage/Brown feud I suppose but not Savage with the belt.

6Against All Odds

3 on 2 Handicap Match

Abyss, Lex Luger and Sean Waltman vs. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall

SWERVE! Waltman turns and joins with his clique buddies, I don't know why, I just see this as the best place for a turn.

7The Noose…

Unsanctioned Match – With No Referee

Raven vs. Jeff Hardy

With: Slash, Sinn, Father James Mitchell, The Kru and the Insane Clown Posse ringside!

The ICP? I thought it would be them but I didn't want it to be. The ICP suck but I suppose at least there just making up the numbers please God don't push them as real wrestlers. I see Raven winning as he's the evil demented twisted one just a gut feeling really.

2Against All Odds

2 on 1 Handicap Match

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Konnan and Vampiro

After such a strong debut it would be odd to have DDP win so you'll probably do it cause thats the kind of thing you do. But I still say Konnan/Vampiro to keep them going strong.

1Against All Odds

2 on 1 Handicap Match

TNA X-Division Championship

Petey Williams © vs. Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper

The champion retains in a good match that will break down into a triple threat and see the sneaky Williams benefit from Daniels and Skipper brawling.

4Against All Odds

2 on 2 on 1 “Hardcore Wildcard” Handicap Match

Kid Kash and Dallas vs. Jimmy Snuka and Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. the Sandman

I'd like to see Kash move onto something bigger and better but I see this one ending up with the Sandman going crazy and laying everyone out. I'm not even sure if he can win but if he can, he will.

5Against All Odds

X-Division Cluster Handicap Match with 2 on 1 on 2 on 1!

Winner(s) Become The No1 Contender(s) To The X-Division Title!

Chris Sabin vs. Kazarian and Shane vs. Hector Garza vs. D-Ray 3000 and Shark Boy

This one is either going to be a hell of a match or a mess, or maybe both. In the end I see Kazarian and Shane overcoming the odds by cheating and working together like good heels do.

3Against All Odds

4 on 5 Handicap Elimination Match

NWA Tag Team Championship – The Last Man Surviving Wins The Belts for His Team!

American Patriots © and America’s Most Wanted vs. New York Connection and Naturally Dark

Just a guess, as much as I love the Patriots I would like to see what you can do with the Dark characters so I'd like to see a push for them.

Show Questions:

What will the elimination order be in the NWA Tag Title Match? Gilberti, Patriot #1, Swinger, Storm, Douglas, Diamond, Harris, Patriot #3 - Leaving

What will be the worst match – rated due to overall match rating in %? 2 on 2 on 1 “Hardcore Wildcard” Handicap Match

What will be the best match – rated due to overall match rating in %?Petey Williams © vs. Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper

Will Against All Odds see anyone debut? Yes

If Yes – Who is going to debut? I don't really know but i'll guess at someone WWE...Matt Hardy hell I don't know he was just the first name in my head.

Will Against All Odds see anyone leave TNA for good? Yes

If Yes – Who is going to leave? Savage will lose and make a retirement speech. I hope.

Will anyone turn at Final Resolution? Yes. Waltman will join the outsiders.

What will the overall PPV be rated – as a %? 71

What will the buyrate be for the show? – 1.24

8 - Against All Odds

2 on 1 Handicap Match

NWA Heavyweight Championship

Jeff Jarrett © vs. Randy Savage and Monty Brown

Jeff Jarrett retains yet again, when Savage makes a shocking turn and joins up with Planet Jarrett.

7 - The Noose…

Unsanctioned Match – With No Referee

Raven vs. Jeff Hardy

With: Slash, Sinn, Father James Mitchell, The Kru and the Insane Clown Posse ringside!

With the assorted cast of characters at ringside I doubt it's going to stay one on one for long, but I'll go with Jeff Hardy [just to go against the odds <_< ] and say he wins thanks to some interference from his brother, Matt Hardy.

6 - Against All Odds

3 on 2 Handicap Match

Abyss, Lex Luger and Sean Waltman vs. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall

The Outsiders because they just made their return and need a huge win. Also one of them is probably next in line for a title shot.

5 - Against All Odds

2 on 1 Handicap Match

TNA X-Division Championship

Petey Williams © vs. Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper

I will go with Daniels and Skipper winning just to be different and say Daniels gets the pin when Skipper is either incapacitated or Daniels just lays Skipper out and then pins Williams.

4 - Against All Odds

2 on 1 Handicap Match

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Konnan and Vampiro

Loosing to DDP would kill their heat.

3 - Against All Odds

2 on 2 on 1 “Hardcore Wildcard” Handicap Match

Kid Kash and Dallas vs. Jimmy Snuka and Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. the Sandman

Kid Kash and Dallas just cause they need the win and they've been jobbing to those geezers for months now.

2 - Against All Odds

4 on 5 Handicap Elimination Match

NWA Tag Team Championship – The Last Man Surviving Wins The Belts for His Team!

American Patriots © and America’s Most Wanted vs. New York Connection and Naturally Dark

Naturally Dark wins, just cause I like them and they'd be someone new besides the NYC or AMW. And I just don't see the Patriots surviving with the belts in this one.

1 - Against All Odds

X-Division Cluster Handicap Match with 2 on 1 on 2 on 1!

Winner(s) Become The No1 Contender(s) To The X-Division Title!

Chris Sabin vs. Kazarian and Shane vs. Hector Garza vs. D-Ray 3000 and Shark Boy

Hail Sabin, Hail Sabin! I just see Sabin coming out of this one as the surprise winner.

Show Questions:

What will the elimination order be in the NWA Tag Title Match? (1 point for each correct) Gilberti, Patriot #3, Swinger, Patriot #1, Diamond, Douglas, and Storm

What will be the best match – rated due to overall match rating in %? X-Division Title

Will Against All Odds see anyone debut? Yes

If Yes – Who is going to debut? Matt Hardy

Will Against All Odds see anyone leave TNA for good? Yes

If Yes – Who is going to leave? Superfly Jimmy Snuka

Will anyone turn at Final Resolution? Randy Savage, and don't you mean Against All Odds? :P

What will the overall PPV be rated – as a %? 68

What will the buyrate be for the show? – person closest to it gets the point 1.01

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling:

Xplosion Preview – Tuesday 8th February 2005

This week’s Xplosion sits just around the corner from TNA’s Against All Odds Pay-Per-View – and will include previews for that event alongside this week’s Impact highlights and exclusive in-ring action.

And what exclusive in-ring action we have! The main event this week will feature two top name TNA superstars when the “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels meets “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy in singles action. Both men have big matches at Against All Odds and defiantly won’t want to loose any momentum heading into Sunday’s Pay-Per-View. The real and obvious question is though - Will Daniels defeat Hardy? Or will Hardy defeat Daniels? Both of these men house the capabilities to defeat the other…Tune in Tuesday to find out who will get the victory.

Last week’s main event meanwhile saw Sabu return to TNA as he destroyed the cocky and undefeated Fantastic Frank Ferdinand; however despite the beating the Genocidal, Homicidal and Suicidal delivered to Triple F his record is still intact this week due to the disqualification ruling. Sabu has already been confirmed to be on Impact this week, and with that news Ferdinand has announced he will be on Xplosion with a microphone in hand. What will Ferdinand have to say next?

The six-sided ring this week alongside the main event will also play host to two tag team matches…the New Flock will be represented via the old New Church of Slash and Sinn as they face Shark Boy and D-Ray 3000. While there is also the X-Division talents of Frankie Kazarian and Michael Shane to be sighted as they face two of TNA’s true youngsters in Knuckles and OK Revolution.

Also! Chris Candido will face Sonjay Dutt following his surprising loss to OK Revolution last week, can Candido get back to winning ways? Or will Dutt make it two loses in two?

Xplosion this week is a solid show all-around, make sure you check it out Tuesday – only on MTV!

Confirmed Matches:

Jeff Hardy vs. Christopher Daniels

Tag Team Match

Slash and Sinn vs. D-Ray 3000 and Shark Boy

Tag Team Match

Kazarian and Shane vs. Knuckles and OK Revolution

Sonjay Dutt vs. Chris Candido

TNA Shakeup?

This week on the eve of TNA's Xplosion program going on the air there has been rumours circulating that TNA officials are re-assessing the wrestling talent under contract at this time. Many TNA stars contracts are up at the end of this month - in particular Jeff Hardy and Sean Waltman and there is an air of uncertainty around who will be still with the company in March. This news is not helped by the expected arrival of three or four new full-time contracted stars at the end of February (see the news story below). Whatever happens TNA is very keen to establish a set roster in the near future, so the changes now look set to be long-term decisions.

IPB Image

Andrew "Test" Martin Confirmed as a TNA Wrestler

TNA Wrestling today on their website (www.tnawrestling.com) made the long expected announcement that Andrew Martin (formerly Test in the WWE) has signed with them on a year-long deal. Martin has been in TNA's sights for a long time since his release from the WWE and has already served his contractual forced 3 months time away from wrestling with another "major" company. He is expected to debut over the next month, but while Martin has been confirmed as a TNA superstar there are also some other rumours floating around...

Rumour has it that an ex-TNA worker is set to return to the company at Destination X (TNA's March Pay-Per-View) alongside the expected (although not confirmed) arrival of Ultimo Dragon. Dragon has been in TNA's sights for a while and has been offered a place in the upcoming Super X Cup 2005. Whether or not Dragon accepts with his Japanise commitments is to be seen. Dragon at this moment is the only prospective X-Cup entrant who has been offered a written contract, anyone else who wrestles in the competition from outside TNA are expected to be under open contracts.

This is proving to be a very interesting month for TNA...
