[Hamm3r, July 28th – BWA fan-forums]

“Hero’s Welcome” will take place on the 21st of August (Sunday), and will be held at the Fleet Leisure Centre.  IWA: Mid-South and Border City Wrestling star Chris Hero will be at the event, and will be signing autographs before and after the show.  The Havana Pitbulls (Reyes & Romero) will also be at "Hero's Welcome", and will take on the BWA Tag Team Champions The UK Pitbulls with the titles on the line.

In other news, Doug Williams has informed BWA staff that he will be unable to make the show due to his Pro Wrestling NOAH commitments.  We wish Doug all the best in his tour with NOAH.

BWA sign DVD deal with SMV

[Hamm3r, 11th August 2005 – BWA fan-forums]

British Wrestling Alliance owner Michael Jacobs today announced that SmartMark Video will be taping the next BWA event “Hero’s Welcome”, as well as all additional BWA events onwards for at least 6 months.  The DVDs will be released on www.smartmarkvideo.com, as well as a new shop on the British Wrestling Alliance homepage as well.

As well as all the action from each BWA event, the DVDs will also feature extra bonus footage, ranging from pre-match promos to match reactions to ‘dark’ matches from each event.

This comes within days of the BWA turning down a television deal from Canal Plus, who reportedly wanted the BWA to fill a 2 hour prime-time slot.  However, the DVD deal should help fans from across Britain and across the world gain access to BWA’s product.

Hero’s Welcome Results, for August 21st 2005

[DVD Extra: We get a pre-taped interview with BWA Champion Jonny Storm, who says that once again he has to defend his title against three men. However, it didn’t stop his reign before, and it won’t stop him tonight either.]

In the first match of the night, Mr. Intelligence picked up a victory over Raj Ghosh following The Dumbinator. Intelligence went a small way towards restoring his pride after losing to Birchill in a Handicap Match at Best of British, but still looked like he was lacking in confidence. Ghosh was essentially fodder in this match, and barely got any offence in. After picking up the win with his trademark finisher, Intelligence then hit Ghosh with a Piledriver to rub salt into the wounds of the young lightweight.

Mark Belton took on The Zebra Kid in the second match, and was none to happy about his English opponent. Belton said that he deserved an American opponent to really test his skills against, but as usual he’d been lumbered with a nobody. Zebra came out with all guns blazing, and tore into Belton with strikes and aerial moves. He nearly got the three-count off the back of a Moonsault, but Belton got his foot on the bottom rope. Finally, Belton got the victory after putting the Kid down with a step-up Enziguiri, before putting him away with a 450 Degree Splash.

[DVD Extra: Backstage, Belton says that at next months show he wants an American opponent. He proved tonight that he was better than every British worker in the country, and now he really wants to test his skills. Anyone Jacobs can get, Belton wants.]

Adam Windsor and the ever-arrogant Mr. Vain picked up a victory over “Psycho” Steve and Jack Xavier, thanks to an unlikely source. Steve and Jack seemed to have the match won after Xavier hit the Xaviator on Mr. Vain, only for Adam Windsor to drop Steve with an absolutely sickening Kryptonite Krunch on the concrete floor outside the ring! The referee rushed to check on the condition of Steve, allowing Hade Vansen to waffle Xavier with a Scissors Kick, before retreating to the back! Mr. Vain got back to his feet and pulled Xavier up with him, before getting the victory with the Double Underhook Piledriver.

The BWA Tag Team Champions The UK Pitbulls defended their gold against The Havana Pitbulls, a team almost half their size. Despite some promising moment, Reyes & Romero struggled to come to terms with Big Dave & Bulk’s size, unable to really do anything to the big men. The nearest the Havana Pitbulls came to winning was when both rolled Bulk up and piled on top of him, but Big Dave got in and broke up the count. The UK Pitbulls successfully defended their titles after Double Powerbombs to both Havana Pitbulls, before both covered their man for the comprehensive victory.

Before his match with Jody Fleisch, Chris Hero thanked the fans for the reception he received when making his entrance. He hoped that this wasn’t his only appearance in the BWA, and neither did the fans. Once “The Phoenix” Jody Fleisch made his entrance, the fans were salivating. However, to say the match was disappointing would be an understatement. There was a complete styles clash, as the two men’s different styles completely cancelled the other’s out. Fleisch picked up the victory with a well-executed 720 Phoenix DDT, although it was a bit of a letdown.

[DVD Extra: James Tighe prepared for his match backstage, and told the cameras that tonight was HIS night. He wouldn’t be screwed out of his title again.]

Jonny Storm defended his title against Nigel McGuiness and James Tighe in the main event, and they had a lot to make up for after the disappointment of the previous match. The trio delivered, as McGuiness and Tighe started off with a reversal of holds, whilst the champion stood on the sidelines and watched. Storm got involved however when Nigel rolled Tighe up with a Small Package, and Storm made sure that there was no three count. McGuiness and Storm began to trade holds, but Jonny soon turned to his aerial ability to try and retain his title. Storm flipped a ‘rana into a cover but Tighe broke up the count, and a giant brawl ensued. McGuiness and Tighe ended up on the outside, and Storm took them both out with a Cross Body from the top rope! Once all three were back in the ring, Storm took Tighe out with The Rewind, only to get blindsided by McGuiness. However, Storm fought back and then hit another Rewind on Nigel to get the win!

Another great show, I'm not sure paying to bring in the Havana Pitbulls only to have them squashed by your champions was such a great idea, it would have been cheaper if they'd just defeated a jobber team from the same country. I'm still loving Johnny as the champ, he's more than deserving, I'd like to see you try and elevate a few stars into the title picture rather than using old reliables, but I'm sure you have that planned in soon. On the plus side the diary is well written and shows how versatile a writer you really are. Keep it up and I still can't wait to split with you when the scenario is finished >_>

Wrestling Updates for August ‘05

[Hamm3r, September 1st – BWA fan-forums]

First of all, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has folded after going bankrupt at the end of August.  This brought an end to the rumours that have been going on for months, reporting that PWG were in tremendous financial difficulty.

Unfortunately, Combat Zone Wrestling seem to be heading down the same path after John Zandig posted a message on the CZW message board, telling the fans not to be surprised if CZW was shut down by the end of the month.

On a brighter note, Mystery Club Wrestling announced it would be opening from the beginning of September, although no owners, stars or shows have been announced.  Look for more news in the coming days.

Finally, Chris Hero informed BWA management that he would not be appearing in the company for some time, due to signing a contract with Full Impact Pro.  This seems to have angered some WA faithful, after Hero stated at Hero’s Welcome that he wanted to stay in the BWA for some time.  Michael Jacobs refused to comment.

I'm loving this diary man, good booking, easy to read results, a great cast of characters both well known and not, this diary is compact and has everything you need. Great work.

I'll do a bigger write up at a later date, I just wanted to post something now to give you some support. Can't wait for the next show.

Anarchy in the UK Results, for 18th September 2005

We got a three way hardcore match between 3 men who aren’t afraid to dish out the pain to start us off, as “Psycho” Steve took on Curve and Paul Travell. Before the match Travell once again campaigned for a Hardcore Title to be introduced to the BWA, but Jacobs again didn’t respond. By the end of the match all three men were bleeding like nobody’s business, whilst the ring was littered with hardcore plunder used by each man. “Psycho” Steve eventually picked up the win after going berserk with Travell’s Mr. Pointy, taking out Travell with vicious repeated shots to the forehead. He then put Curve down on the mat with another shot, before finishing the youngster off with a Catapult Elbow.

Adam Windsor defeated Simmons relatively quickly with the Kryptonite Krunch. However, Simmons did manage to kick out of a Superkick and mounted a brief comeback and even hit The Butler Buster, but Windsor got his foot on the ropes. After this it wasn’t long before Windsor was back in control, and eventually got the 1-2-3.

Ashe was looking to salvage some pride for The New Breed as he took on Raj Ghosh, but didn’t get any as Ghosh got the victory off the back of a Tornado DDT. A fast-paced match between the two cruiserweights saw some nice spots, including a Moonsault from the top rope by Ashe onto Ghosh, who was on the outside of the ring. After the match Ghosh celebrated, but was attacked by Ashe who spiked him with a DDT!

[DVD Extra: James Tighe is backstage preparing for his match with The Zebra Kid, and says that once again he has been screwed out of his title. He ‘lost’ another three-way, but again he wasn’t pinned. He tells Jacobs that tonight, he’s going to prove why he deserves Jonny Storm one-on-one.]

James Tighe did exactly what he said he would, and defeated The Zebra Kid in impressive fashion. Tighe was extremely methodical in the match, working over Zebra Kid’s leg before applying a Half-Boston Crab, forcing Zebra to submit. After the match Tighe grabbed a chair from underneath the ring, before wrapping it around the ankle of The Zebra Kid! Tighe climbed to the top rope before shattering Zebra’s ankle with a Double Stomp onto the chair! Tighe once again and left the ring, looking very pleased with himself.

Mark Belton took on his American opponent in the next match, but didn’t know who he would be facing. After Belton had made his entrance, Jacobs got into the ring and announced that Belton’s opponent would be… Arik Cannon! The current CHIKARA Heavyweight Champion made his way to the ring and was met by a surprisingly good reaction from the crowd, but was taken down with a kick to the knee by Belton. The match was a good back-and-forth contest, but Belton eventually got the win following his 450 Degree Splash.

Birchill went one-on-one with the FWA’s all-England champion Hade Vansen, who looked much less cocky than the last couple of times we’d seen him. Vansen tried to out-power Birchill, but that was a big mistake as the monster took control. Vansen managed to fight back with a thumb to the eye and by using his speed, but was still no match for Birchill who finished off “The South City Thriller” Vansen with the C4! After the match, Jack Xavier made his way to the ring and challenged Vansen to a match at next month’s event. Before Vansen could respond however, Jacobs gave Hade no choice and made the match!

In the night’s Main Event, “The Phoenix” Jody Fleisch took on Jonny Storm for the BWA Heavyweight Title. The match started off with a handshake before going straight into some fast-paced action, with both men getting numerous pinfall attempts after a sequence of moves that resulted in pinfalls. Fleisch managed to gain the upper-hand after Storm slipped whilst climbing to the top rope, allowing Jody to take control. Storm fought back however and hit The Rewind for what should have been the victory – but Fleisch kicked out! Storm began to complain to the referee that it was a ‘slow count’, allowing Jody to recover. Fleisch nailed the 720 Phoenix DDT, but Storm then kicked out of that! The two continued to slug it out, but eventually Storm got the victory and retained his title with a Blockbuster for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Mike Jacobs got into the ring and told everyone that he had a HUGE announcement. Starting this Wednesday, BWA TV would be showing on The Wrestling Channel [427] every week! He hoped that all the fans tuned into the BWA’s new TV show, and hoped to see them at next month’s ‘History in the Making’ show.

[bWA TV #1 – Taped on Monday 3rd October]

Broadcast on The Wrestling Channel, Wednesday 5th October

The feed for the first ever episode of BWA TV opens up in the lockeroom area, where the current BWA Heavyweight Champion Johnny Storm is standing by. Storm says that he’s ready to lead the BWA into a new era, and it begins tonight when he defends his title against “The Phoenix” Jody Fleisch. The two have faced each other on numerous occasions in the BWA as well as numerous other promotions – but Storm was confident he’s going to come out on top.

We go to the arena, which is decorated in much the same way as it would be for a standard BWA event, except for the ‘BWA TV’ logo hanging above a small TV screen suspended above the ramp. The first televised BWA match pitted James Tighe against Birchill, who Mike Jacobs billed as the most dangerous man in the BWA. Tighe managed to overcome the odds however, and after being on the receiving end of a vicious beating for most of the match, managed to roll Birchill up with an inside cradle for the victory!

Mr. Vain made his way out the ring next, and proceeded to trash everyone inside the arena, for not being as gorgeous as himself. His opponent, The Duke of Danger stormed the ring with the rest of Hampton Court following closely, but was unable to put Mr. Vain in his place. After a back-and-forth match between the two, Vain put The Duke away with his Double Underhook Piledriver finishing manoeuvre.

The Tag Team Titles were on the line next, as The UK Pitbulls (Big Dave and Bulk) took on the New Breed, made up of Ashe and Curve. Following on from his Hardcore match at the Anarchy in the UK event, Curve had a large plaster covering up most of his forehead. The UK Pitbulls showed them no mercy however, as they bounced their opponents around the ring before mercifully finishing them off with tandem Powerbombs followed up by a double cover.

The first episode of BWA TV came to a close with a Heavyweight Title matchup, between Johnny Storm and Jody Fleisch. The TV screen at the top of the ramp showed some clips of their previous BWA battles before they made their entrances, such as Storm defeating Fleisch at the Best of British show, and at the Anarchy in the UK event with the Blockbuster. The match itself delivered what it promised, with lots of fast-paced action you’d expect from the two athletes. Fleisch almost got a victory after his Springboard Shooting Star Press, but Storm managed to get his shoulder up. The BWA Champion eventually retained his title after The Rewind on Fleisch, before the one-two-three.

The show ended with Jody Fleisch thanking the fans for coming, and that he hoped they enjoyed the show.

[bWA TV #2 – Taped on Monday 10th October]

Broadcast on The Wrestling Channel, Wednesday 12th October

As the feed for the second episode of BWA TV begins, the ‘Royal Stud’ Adam Windsor makes his way down to the ring. Windsor takes a microphone and basically riles up the crowd of 176 people, saying that they don’t deserve to see an athlete of his class in action. His opponent Jack Xavier makes his way out, for both of their BWA TV debuts. Windsor’s cheating takes control of the match, but with the crowd firmly behind Xavier he manages to fight back, but an unfortunate missed Superkick accidentally takes the referee out! Almost immediately the ‘South City Thriller’ Hade Vansen comes rushing down to the ring, wearing a referees shirt! He takes Xavier out with a Scissors Kick, before Windsor picks him up for the Kryptonite Krunch. To add insult to injury Vansen makes a fast three count, to give The Royal Stud the victory!

The second match of the night introduced the BWA TV fans to the BWA’s Hardcore style, as ‘Righteous’ Paul Travell, equipped with Mr. Pointy, took on ‘Psycho’ Steve and the unusual choice of Mr. Intelligence. The unusual choice picked up the unlikely win however, after watching his two opponents practically kill each other before moving in for the kill – hitting The Dumbinator on both of his opponents before covering Steve for the win.

After the match Mr. Intelligence took hold of a microphone, and said that he was going to use his intelligence to get to the top of the BWA. So far no-one has been able to take the BWA Heavyweight Title off of Johnny Storm – but that’s because Mr. Intelligence hasn’t faced him yet.

The main event saw ‘Anarchist’ Arik Cannon make another BWA appearance, this time against Nigel McGuiness. A largely technical affair saw McGuiness come out on top after hitting the Guvnor’s Crumpet on Arik Cannon, before offering a handshake – which Cannon duly accepted.

After the two competitors had left the ringside area, Michael Jacobs entered the ring and announced a World Heavyweight Title tournament, that would start next week, and involve 8 of the BWA’s top stars! The semi-finals would then be held at ‘History in the Making’, and the final on the following episode of BWA TV! The winner would then get a shot at Johnny Storm’s Heavyweight Title at the BWA’s November event!

Finishing Manoeuvre: Tandem Powerbombs to Opponents

Weighing in at a combined weight of 843lbs, The UK Pitbulls are not to be messed with.  After becoming the BWA Tag Team Champions, the Pitbulls have successfully defended their titles on numerous occasions – often in impressive fashion.

The Pitbulls cemented their status as champions with an impressive win over the Havanna Pitbulls, and with their size, it looks as if The UK Pitbulls will be top of the tag-team division for some time to come.

[bWA TV #3 – Taped on Monday 17th October]

Broadcast on The Wrestling Channel, Wednesday 19th October

Tonight’s event will be taken up by action from the BWA Heavyweight Title tournament, and the first match saw Mark Belton take on Jack Xavier. This one was hard to call as either man could’ve won, and the back and forth action in the match reflected that. In the end however it was Mark Belton to came out no top, finishing Xavier off with his 450 Degree Splash! After the match as Xavier was getting to his feet, Hade Vansen came through the crowd and nailed Xavier across the back with a Steel Chair, before completing the assault with a Scissors Kick! The crowd booed heavily as Mark Belton applauded Vansen from the top of the ramp, and Vansen celebrated on the turnbuckles.

In the second match of the night, James Tighe took on The Duke of Danger, in another Heavyweight Title tournament match. Tighe’s technical superiority came to the front in this match, and allowed him to get the impressive victory over the Duke, with Tighe’s impressive Half Boston Crab finally finishing off the Duke. After the match Tighe promised that he would win the tournament, and then go onto beat Johnny Storm for the title!

In the third match of the tournament, Hade Vansen – who we had already seen attack Jack Xavier this evening – took on Birchill. Vansen tried to use his speed to tire Birchill down, but the man monster kept up with him every step of the way. Things seemed to take a turn for the worst for Birchill when the referee got squashed in the corner, allowing Mark Belton to come out and help Vansen, and the two began to double-team Birchill! It didn’t last for long however, as Jack Xavier had a receipt for Vansen, and he rushed the ring to make the save! Xavier took care of Belton and took him out with the Xaviator, as Birchill hit the C4 on Vansen! The referee came round and made the three count, allowing Birchill to advance. After the match Xavier raised Birchill’s hand in the air, before the two headed to the back.

Before the final first-round tournament match, Mr. Intelligence made his way to the ring. He said that it was mind-boggling that a man of his intellect and talent had been kept out of the Heavyweight Title tournament. He said that it was typical discrimination – Jacobs was jealous of his intelligence! This brought out Paul Travell however, who chased Mr. Intelligence off with Mr. Pointy! Travell then took hold of the microphone and asked Jacobs one more time to introduce a hardcore title… and Jacobs agreed! This Sunday at History in the Making, Paul Travell will take on ‘Psycho’ Steve and a mystery opponent, with the NEW BWA Hardcore Title on the line!

In the final match of the show, the ‘Royal Stud’ Adam Windsor took on Jody Fleisch, with the final place in the semi-finals of the tournament on the line! Their mismatched styles made for an… interesting match, to say the least, but Adam Windsor picked up the massive upset victory – after a low blow on Fleisch followed up by the Kryptonite Krunch! Windsor even put his feet on the ropes during the cover, and advances to the semi-finals. Windsor disappeared quickly, obviously not wanting to be around when Fleisch came to, and it was plain to see why as The Phoenix looked extremely pissed off. Suddenly however, Petey Williams entered the ring behind Fleisch, and planted him with the Canadian Destroyer! Williams snatched a microphone and said that PWG may be dead, but their feud isn’t! Williams delivered a couple of stomps to Fleisch before exiting the way he came, leaving Fleisch down on the floor.

History in the Making results, for October 23rd 2005

846 people packed into the Aldershot Cellar Bar – the new location for BWA ‘big’ events. The exposure they’ve gotten from their TV deal has really skyrocketed their popularity. To open the show, Mr. Vain took on Chris Justice, and took the victory pretty comfortably. Justice looked uncomfortable throughout the match, and even slipped off the apron as he made his entrance. Vain picked up the win with his Double Underhook Piledriver.

In the next match, Mr. Intelligence went one-on-one with Arik Cannon, in another all round disappointing match. The two didn’t seem to gel, and even elicited a ‘boring’ chant from the crowd. The less said about this match the better, as Mr. Intelligence picked up the win with a rollup and handful of tights. As he made his way to the back he tapped his head, mouthing to Cannon “I’m smarter than you”.

A woman dressed in a business suit made her way down to the ring next, and introduced herself as Vanessa. The American woman said that she was disgusted with the current tag team situation in the BWA, with the two slobs running around as tag team champions, and she’s taken it upon herself to clean up the BWA tag team title scene. With that she announces her clients New South, Ashley Hudson and Kory Williams. The two make their way out, and await their opponents.

Hampton Court, The Duke of Danger and Simmons make their way out, but not with Buttercup who isn’t here tonight due to other commitments, apparently. As they’re getting ready for the match they’re jumped by the New South, who are looking to take control early on. Hampton Court managed to fight back and threw both members of the New South to the outside, allowing themselves to regroup. Once the match ‘properly’ got underway the newcomers took control once more, keeping Simmons in their corner and keeping each other fresh with quick tags. Vanessa bellowed instructions from the outside, but Simmons managed to make the tag to The Duke, who came flying out the blocks. It wasn’t enough to get them the win however, as New South hit a Flapjack-DDT combination which Michael Jacobs said they call Welcome to the South. After the match Vanessa got back into the ring and raises her clients’ hands in the air, before leading them to the back.

The new BWA Hardcore Title was on the line next, as Paul Travell took on ‘Psycho’ Steve and a mystery opponent, who was introduced… Madman Pondo! Pondo gout a decent pop from the crowd as he carried his ‘STOP’ sign to the ring, only to get caught with a tope from Travell! The bell quickly rung and ‘Psycho’ Steve got in on the action, smashing a Kendo Stick down across the back of Travell. The first man to bleed was Pondo, who took a shot from Mr. Pointy square across the forehead. He returned the favour however as he smashed his ‘STOP’ sign down on the skull of Travell, before doing the same to Steve. Eventually however, ‘Righteous’ Paul Travell became the first ever BWA Hardcore Champion as he nailed the Hazards Splash on Madman Pondo through a table before making the cover, after ‘Psycho’ Steve had been taken out with a Powerbomb from Pondo onto the concrete!

Following on from his attack, Petey Williams took on ‘The Phoenix’ Jody Fleisch in what truly was match of the night. The fast paced action had everyone involved, and carried on from their PWG feud perfectly. In the end, Fleisch picked up the win and got a measure of revenge on Williams following his Phoenix 720 DDT. After the match Jody celebrated, but Williams vowed this was far from over.

In the first semi-final match of the Heavyweight Title tournament, Birchill took on the ‘Royal Stud’ Adam Windsor, in a decent match between the two. Windsor mocked Birchill before the match but was shut up by the man monster, who ripped into Windsor with a flurry of punches and kicks. Windsor used a thumb to the eye to buy himself some breathing space and then took control of the match, before hitting a Superkick on Birchill, who kicked out of the cover attempt! Windsor went looking for the Kryptonite Krunch as he attempted to finish Birchill off, but Birchill managed to escape and then nailed Windsor with the C4! Birchill covered, and will be in the final of the BWA Heavyweight Title Tournament!

To decide who would face Birchill in the final, James Tighe went one on one with Mark Belton. The fans showed their hate for both of the wrestlers as they made their entrances, and they weren’t too sure on who to cheer for during the match. Tighe made quick work of Belton, focusing on his left leg and, after a dragon screw leg whip, slapped on a Half-Boston Crab – forcing Belton to tap out. Tighe will now face Birchill in the final on BWA TV, and continues his impressive streak!

The main event saw Johnny Storm take on Alex Shane, a match which Johnny Storm had requested after losing to Alex Shane at the FWA Gangland event. Shane got a big chorus of boos from the crowd, but he claimed that he would prove that Johnny Storm is only champ because the BWA is a shithouse. Storm started like a house afire which surprised Shane, who almost lost after Storm hit a standing Hurricanerana into a pin which Shane narrowly kicked out from. Shane fought back and took control, using his power to dominate Storm. Shane nearly picked up the win with a Brainbuster, but Storm managed to kick out and then eventually went on to win with the Blockbuster!

After the event Michael Jacobs entered the ring and announced that the BWA’s next event would be Calling all Coroners, and is scheduled for November 27th 2005!

Jack Xavier Injured

[Hamm3r, BWA Fan-Forum]

Whilst training at his house last night, Jack Xavier apparently suffered a pretty nasty injury to his eye.  Xavier was able to finish his match with Spud, but has been told he’ll need around 2 months off before being able to step into the ring again.

The BWA apparently still want him at the BWA TV tapings tonight, perhaps to explain the injury through his feud with Hade Vansen.

Yeah, it's taken me a while because Ive only just got around to getting everything back after reformatting. Still, better late than never.

[bWA TV #4 – Taped on Monday 24th October]

Broadcast on The Wrestling Channel, Wednesday 26th October

The final episode of BWA in October opened up with Petey Williams standing in the ring, with a microphone in hand. Williams says that the loss at History in the Making was a fluke, and he wants Jody Fleisch to come to the ring right now so he can prove it. ‘The Phoenix’ obliges, but before things can get to heated Mike Jacobs enters the ring, with a few members of the BWA roster and officials to separate the two. Jacobs says that if they want each other so bad then fine, next month on November 20th, at BWA ‘Vendetta’, then they can have each other in an Anything Goes match! Eventually the two were escorted backstage after seemingly agreeing to the match, and the show resumed.

The first match of the night saw New South member Kory Williams, accompanied by Vanessa and Ashley Hudson, taking on Simmons who was flanked by the Duke of Danger and their maid Buttercup. After their impressive win over Hampton Court at History in the Making, Williams managed to keep up his teams’ momentum as he picked up the win following a Pumphandle Slideslam followed up by the three count. After the match Vanessa and Hudson raised Williams’ hands in the air, as Simmons was helped to the back by Buttercup – with the Duke not looking too impressed.

On the TV screen near at the top of the entrance ramp, footage was shown ‘earlier today’. Jack Xavier is shown backstage, when suddenly he is taken down by a chairshot to the back of the head! The camera pans out and reveals Hade Vansen standing their, smiling sadistically. He raises the chair up again and this time brings it down across the arm of Xavier, followed up by another three shots to the same area. Vansen spits on Jack to add insult to what appears to be a serious injury before walking off, leaving Xavier writhing in agony on the floor.

Before the Main Event, a video is shown recapping the BWA #1 Contender’s Tournament. We focus on how Birchill and Tighe got to the final, before heading back to the ring.

Birchill is introduced first, and looks focused as he makes his way down to the ring. James Tighe engages with some banter with a few fans in the front row, before entering the ring. Tighe immediately looked to ground the man monster as he kicked away at his knee, before attempting to apply a Figure Four. Birchill managed to kick Tighe away however and went on the warpath, taking out Tighe with a series of hard hitting moves. However, an unfortunate collision between Birchill and the official allowed Tighe to connect with a Low Blow, before heading to the outside. He reached under the ring and pulled out a Lead Pipe, before re-entering the ring and drilling Birchill over the head! Tighe made the cover as the referee slowly recovered, before making the cover! James Tighe will now face Johnny Storm at Vendetta on November 20th!

[bWA TV #5 – Taped on Monday 31st October]

Broadcast on The Wrestling Channel, Wednesday 2nd November

As BWA TV opens up with ‘The Anarchist’ Arik Cannon making his way down to the ring, when he is attacked from behind by Mark Belton! Belton knocks Cannon down with a clothesline to the back of the head, before sending him into the railing with an Irish Whip. Belton continues to beat away on Cannon, before putting him down with a nasty garbage can shot to the head! Belton rolls Cannon into the ring and follows, and the bell is rung although Cannon is already out of it. Belton climbs to the top rope and nails Arik with the 5 Star Frog Splash, before getting the academic three count. Belton makes his way to the back without looking at anyone, as the referee checks on Cannon.

In the second match of the evening, Paul Travell took on Hade Vansen in his first defence of the BWA Hardcore Title. During the match Mike Jacobs informed us that Jack Xavier will be out for a minimum of two months with a severe arm injury, following Vansen’s attack last week. This match went all over the arena, with the two ending up fighting amongst the fans at one point. Vansen could’ve picked up the win after sending a chair into Travell’s face with a Scissors Kick, but took too long in playing to the fans before covering – allowing Travell to kick out just before the three. Eventually the match swung in Travell’s favour, and the champion retained his title following the Hazard’s Splash from the top rope to Vansen through a table on the outside!

Up next, the UK Pitbulls Big Dave and Bulk defended their tag team gold against the New Breed, Ashe and Curve. The Pitbulls looked strong for the entire match, eventually finishing the New Breed off with a Big Dave Powerbomb to Ashe for the win. After the match, the team of Ashley Williams and Kory Hudson – followed by Vanessa made their way to the ring and attacked the UK Pitbulls! In what must have been a BWA first, the New South man handled Big Dave and Bulk as Vanessa barked orders at them, before managing to nail Dave with Welcome to the South! Vanessa then entered the ring and proclaimed that her team were the new Number 1 team in the BWA, and were challenging the Pitbulls to a match for their Tag Team Titles at Vendetta!

To cap off this episode of BWA TV, we had the contract signing for their title match at Vendetta between Johnny Storm and James Tighe! Storm came to the ring first to sign his contract, before Tighe made his entrance. Tighe signed the contract before Storm offered his Vendetta opponent a hand, which Tighe seemed to accept! However, he quickly went for a right hand on Storm but he managed to duck, and opened up with a barrage of punches on Tighe! James fought back before pulling something out of his pocket, and throwing a white powder in Storm’s eyes! ‘The Wonderkid’ dropped his belt and clutched his eyes, as Tighe grabbed hold of the championship. He lined Storm up and then drilled him right between the eyes, knocking Storm out cold! Tighe applied the Half-Boston Crab, before eventually being pulled off by BWA officials. Tighe posed with the BWA Heavyweight Title before laying it across Storm's face, and heading backstage as BWA TV came to an end.

[bWA TV #6 – Taped on Monday 7th October]

Broadcast on The Wrestling Channel, Wednesday 10th October

The 6th episode of BWA TV opened up with a match between the young Chris Justice and ‘The Royal Stud’ Adam Windsor. Despite being the underdog, Justice came close to winning a few times taking advantage of Windsor’s arrogance, rolling the ‘Royal Stud’ up for a close two count as Windsor taunted. However, the favourite did eventually come out with the win as Windsor put Justice down with a Superkick, getting the one-two-three.

We then cut to a pre-taped interview with the current BWA Champion Johnny Storm, to get his thoughts on James Tighe’s actions last week after their contract signing for Vendetta. Storm tore into Tighe, and claimed that come November Twentieth Storm would expose Tighe for the fraud he is. He then spoke about the match tonight, which would see Storm team up with Jody Fleisch to take on Petey Williams and James Tighe in a Tag Team Match, claiming that despite their previous rivalries, the Phoenix and the Wonderkid would come out on top.

Up next was another singles match for a member of the New South, as Ashley Hudson took on Raj Ghosh. In an impressive display, Hudson made light work of Ghosh and picked up the win following a Fisherman’s Swinging Neckbreaker to Ghosh. However, as Hudson was joined by Kory Williams and Vanessa in the ring, the UK Pitbulls hit the ring and assaulted the New South, getting revenge for their attack last week! After throwing Vanessa to the outside and putting Hudson and Williams out with Tandem Powerbombs, Big Dave grabbed a mike and bellowed “Consider your challenge accepted!”, so at Vendetta we’ll see the UK Pitbulls defend their Tag Team Titles against the New South!

In the main event, Petey Williams and James Tighe took on Jody Fleisch and the BWA Heavyweight Champion Johnny Storm, with each of the men having an issue with another in the match. It turned out to be the best match seen on BWA TV in its short history, as all four competitors gelled together. Just like Storm promised, he and Fleisch managed to put their differences well and truly behind them as they worked well together, but that didn’t storm Tighe and Williams picking up the win. As the former TNA X-Division Champion took Storm out with his Canadian Destroyer, the referee turned his back on Tighe which allowed the man who will get a shot at the BWA Heavyweight Title at Vendetta to throw more white powder, this time into the eyes of ‘The Phoenix’, before knocking Fleisch down and applying a Half-Boston Crab! With Storm unable to make the save Fleisch eventually tapped, giving Tighe and Williams the win! The victors congratulated each other before heading to the back, as BWA TV faded out.

Honor to Invade Britain?

[Hamm3r, BWA fan-forum]

Apparently, the BWA’s December event will be a joint show between the BWA and top American Independent Ring of Honor.  Much like the ‘Frontiers of Honor’ show held by FWA, the show will revolve around the BWA vs. Ring of Honor.

If the event does go ahead, then expected to appear are the RoH Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino, and top stars Brian Danielson, Alex Shelley, Low-Ki and Spanky, as well as others.

Look for more information to possibly be posted on the BWA website in the near future.

Get TJ Cain and push him you twat.

Ugh yeah, just read through the last few shows, some good stuff but I'd like to see a bit less of all the FWA wrestlers and some others, I know there aren't many but get as much variation as possible please.
