Saw

Did anyone happen to see this movie when it was out on the big screen? I remember when it came out, I thought it was just some strange ass show that I'd probably never see...but now that it's coming out on DVD, and seeing the previews it looks kinda good. To me, it seems like it's kinda like manhunt, where a killer puts several people in situations where they have to kill one another, or something of that nature...which I feel would be a pretty cool movie. Em I right by thinking this, or em I totally off by what the plot is?

It was okay... I'd probably call it the most disappointing film of 2004 because I had high expectations. Now, I realize horror movies rarely have the best acting in the world, but this was worse than most Jason or Freddy movies. The terrible acting just drags the story completely down, but yeah, the ending is badass.

I liked this movie...I actually saw it with a friend at the Toronto Film Festival a few months ago, which probably made it seem better than it was, just because it was a midnight showing, and just a lecture hall full of 20-something college/university students.

My only problem was the dialogue. Some of it made the actors seem so shitty. Except for that guy in the room WITH Carey Elwis...he WAS shitty.

It was made for cheap. Thus the writers acted in it. The Asian policeman was the main writer, the guy in the room was his classmate at film school and wrote all of the gory scenarios. I enjoyed it as I knew what it would be, a cheaply made movie. If you go in expecting the actors to win awards you will be disappointed. My main complaint was the final third of the movie dragged like a mother fucker.

the ending was EXCELLENT! just got home from seeing saw, and i must say I liked it very much. Everything was so well thought out. Dont plan on being scared to death, the movie just plays with your mind, and makes you think of stuff, not a horror, but the ending totally caught me off surprise, and there for a second i thought Danny G was the one.
