Question about something that happened at...

I was watching the Brit awards last night and Greenday was performing. Now something struck me as odd.

There was a fourth person on stage, playing a guitar. The tv camera's seemed to be trying to avoid looking at him, but on any wide angle shot he made it it. He was just playing.

So who was he? or what was he doing there?

He was there when I saw them at Reading, I think he's been added since Warning - and just occasionally is used for the double tracked guitar bits live. Don't have a name though, maybe Maxx'll know.

Something else strange happened, Muse won an award..must be a mistake.

Anyways, I didn't watch the Brits because I dislike most of the music although I would have liked to see Green Day. I'd like to know who that person was too though.

Just a session guitarist, a bunch of bands do it when they have a few tracks with two guitar tracks. He's not counted as afull member of the band, just helps out on live gigs.

A lot of groups with three band members do it....

I saw a live Muse performance on TV a while back and they had a fourth guitarist (Dunno why, they make enough volume and depth between the three of them).

Also I went to see Feeder a couple of times back in 2000 and one time they had a session guitarist with them.

He's pretty much the guitar player because the singer likes to hold on the mic and strum three chords all song.
