Fergie abandons flight as mystery deepens

SIR Alex Ferguson has abandoned plans to fly to Norway amid further confusion over Jon Obi Mikel’s proposed move to Manchester United.

Ferguson was willing to sidestep his usual pre-match media briefings and jet into Oslo in an effort to sort out the dispute that has erupted since United announced Mikel’s capture from Lyn Oslo a fortnight ago.

The Red Devils boss has become increasingly concerned at contradictory statements being made on Mikel’s behalf about his willingness to move to Old Trafford in preference to Chelsea, who also believe they have signed the promising 18-year-old Nigerian midfielder.

But, after learning Mikel was no longer in Norway, Ferguson has opted not to make the trip and risk embarrassment.

Lyn Oslo officials insist the deal with United is watertight but Mikel failed to turn up for training as planned this morning and is now believed to be en route to London in the company of agents Jerome Anderson and John Shittu.

The situation has so concerned the Oslo club they have contacted the Norwegian police and the Norwegian Football Association.

“We do not know where Jon is,” Lyn’s sporting director Morgan Anderson told Sky Sports.

“He has been taken away by agents who told us they were working for Chelsea, although Chelsea have not confirmed that with us.

“Manchester United know we have written to Chelsea about this whole saga but we know there is nothing wrong on our part. Everything done is rock solid and legal.

“We have always got on well with Chelsea. They made us an offer for Jon, but it was way off the mark and they only wanted to use middle men all the time.

“Jon wasn’t happy with all the agents becoming involved and so we managed to cancel all the arrangements before he signed for Manchester United.”

This is a joke, Chelsea are fucking scum, they also came up with a list of offenses Chelsea have made this season.

Tapping up Ashley Cole

Telling everyone Neale Barry is a cheat

Stewards selling match tickets on the black market

Being racist to Samuel Etoo

Forcing Anders Frisk to retire

Lying to UEFA

Ignoring UEFA by deliberately keeping Mourinho in contact with team affairs

Mourinho not turning up to a pre-CL press conference

Mourinho not turning up to a post-CL press conference

Kidnapping a player

Kidnapping a player, bwahahaha, that just sounds hilarious, I can just imagine him tied/taped up in the back of Abramovich's Volvo.

Kidnapping a player

You do realise that a lot of the things you list are either BS, proved as BS, justifiable, or just OTT reactions by you? Kidnapping a player...ok....of course.

I'll run through the list:

Don't tell me that Chelsea are the only team you believe taps players up. Whether its Man U, Arsenal, or any other big club, they all have underhanded ways of doing things, as do even the smaller clubs. Thats just the way it is, but its just been blown up out of proportion. And why not blame your own player for doing something that he shouldn't have done?

All managers complain about referees. So saying Neale Barry is a cheat isn't as bad as you say. Alex Ferguson recently said that it's "sinister" that Man U don't get enough penalties. Fair enough, he got fined, but thats along the same lines. And sometimes, refs are shit, and deserve to be told that.

I don't know about the stewards thing.

Eto'o was never proved to be racially abused, and enquiries were held. I just think they were bitter that they were out-gunned by Chelsea and Morinho's mind games, and just wanted to kick up a fuss, wouldn't surprise me.

The whole Frisk thing. They made a fuss about it, and in the end, if I remember rightly, a UEFA official agreed that Frisk and Rijkard had had words of some sort, albeit not in the referee's room. Rijkard had tried to go in with him, IIRC, but wasn't allowed in. Now, Mourinho wasn't there, but Chinese whispers, and things change. Follow that by Drogba's dodgy sending off, and losing a game you were winning, I guess he has a right to feel a little peeved, especially since he has been told about the conversation by someone else. As for the conference, he wouldn't go if he thought he was cheated, would he? Frisk retiring was bad, but its no worse than the abuse other refs got for bad decisions. Are you saying you condone the media/fan bollocking that Urs Meier got (I think it was him who reffed the Portugal match)?

They kept him in touch with team affairs? He was in the stands for the first leg, and in a hotel for the second leg. Unless you are going by the "OMG, THE ASSISTANT WORE A HAT, HE MUST HAVE HAD AN EARPIECE", which is tabloid media BS. He was allowed contact on the run-up to the match. Also, if you are banned from a game, for something which eventually, turned out to be partially right, I think it makes sense not to go to the match conference.

Seriously, you are probably worse than JP with the anti-Chelsea sentiment.

Blues sign Del Horno

Chelsea have completed the signing of Athletic Bilbao defender Asier del Horno for around £8 million.

The Spanish left back has been earmarked by Blues boss Jose Mourinho for some time, but the deal has been something of a stop-starter.

The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal, starting from July 1, after the two clubs finally came to a suitable arrangement.

Bilbao president Fernando Lamikitz has been insisting that they will not let Del Horno go on the cheap, and the €12 million deal has persuaded them to do business.

"Asier is an outstanding international player who will add quality to the squad in a position we needed to strengthen," Mourinho told the club website.

"I'm sure he will be a key player as Chelsea continues with its goal to achieve greater success both in England and in the Champions League."

The Portuguese coach had identified left back as an area that needed strengthening after having to play William Gallas in a makeshift role last season.

Blues chief executive Peter Kenyon was equally thrilled to have lured Del Horno to Stamford Bridge.

"Jose identified his target to fill the left-back position and we're delighted that Asier has chosen to come to Chelsea.

"The arrival of Asier signifies Chelsea's desire to strengthen the squad in key positions following a hugely successful season and we all look forward to seeing Asier in the blue of Chelsea in July."

It's funny now how Mourinho quickly dismissed being linked with Ashley Cole when the whole 'tapping up' affair arose, stating that he already had a world-class left-back in Wayne Bridge.

Funny that the same Wayne Bridge will most likely be dropped for new-boy Del Horno or even potentially sold given the predicted arrival of others such as Ashley Cole and Kaladze.

He may have inherited a few Englishmen that make up the backbone of his team, but that’s about the height of it...suddenly neither Parker or probably Bridge are of Mourinho's or Chelsea's standard.

Real Madrid have offered Chelsea £20 million plus Solari and Owen for Lampard, which Chelsea turned down.

Chelsea also made an approoach for David Trezeguet, but Juventus have told them he's not for sale. Good, give me Adriano, damnit.
