Eugene Back From Injury

July 1st, 2005

WWE RAW superstar Eugene has successfully recovered from his knee injury that was suffered at the January pay-per-view, New Year's Revolution. He has been working hard in rehab and he is now back to pretty much full health. Even though most internet fans would like him to return with a new gimmick, it looks like WWE is determined to stick with the 'mentally challenged' persona. Look for Eugene to be back on our screens within the next couple of weeks, maybe even as part of a trade to go to Smackdown!.

Cruiserweights Making Waves

July 1st, 2005

The Cruiserweights of the WWE seem to be attracting media attention. Exclusive to Smackdown!, the Cruiserweights put on some spectacular matches that leave the crowd on the edge of their seats or standing and applauding. With the latest additions to the roster including Super Crazy, Juventud and Psychosis, the Cruiserweight division may get more attention in the near future. Both Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) and Stuff Magazine have articles planned for next month's editions on the WWE's Cruiserweights. Let's hope the Cruiserweights continue to get more recognition.

Good show. I hope both Rhyno and Christian get pushes. I was glad to see Storm as a full fledged heel. Aligning him with Dawn can only help.

Rhyno and Christian didn't really add up to Big Show and RVD but I'm almost counting on you doing some trades.

I like how you had Dawn come back to manage Storm but isn't she pregnent?

Anyways, good show. I hope to see a trade before you post Raw.

Hope some trades will happen in this one, Christian and Rhyno didn't really close it out good for me.

Hmm, I thought they were decent picks as they can prosper more on Smackdown!, seeing as most of the 'better talent' is on RAW. I'll of course take your comments into consideration, though. I had planned for a couple of trades, but I'm not sure they will go ahead. You'll have to wait until RAW to see.

I was glad to see Storm as a full fledged heel. Aligning him with Dawn can only help.

Storm back with Dawn! Amazing. I love how your handling Storm.

Thanks for the Storm comments. I really had no plans for Dawn, seeing as the divas on Smackdown! are just eye-candy at the moment. Then I thought about re-uniting Storm and Dawn. I'm glad you like the move.

I like how you had Dawn come back to manage Storm but isn't she pregnent?

Anyways, good show. I hope to see a trade before you post Raw.

If Dawn is pregnant, I didn't know about it, and it would be stupid to take her off screen now. So if she is pregnant in real life, let's pretend it never happened in my game :P .

If a trade/trades do take place, they will likely be announced on RAW, unless they aren't major ones in which case they will probably be revealed via WWE.com.

As for Christian & Rhyno, I am actually glad that they are on Smackdown. It could really give them a chance to break out (especially Christian).

Well she was pregnent before One Night Stand happened so it would have been happening before your diary started...She didn't really look it at One Night Stand from what I could see. Just because she is pregnent doesn't mean you have to fit it into the storyline, it may have just caused a little problem in your storyline. If you choose to ignore that then, thats you choice.

Yes Dawn was pregnant at ONS and they did hid it well. So what if she's pregnant, I say just ignore it. It wouldn't hurt your diary (IMO)

RAW, Smackdown! Get Trading

July 4th, 2005

The 2005 Draft Lottery ended last Thursday on Smackdown!, but the roster changes did not. Both General Managers engaged in three trades. The first was a straight swap as Heidenreich moved to RAW and Tajiri returned to Smackdown!. Heidenreich's search for friends continues on the red brand, whereas Tajiri re-joins the Smackdown! cruiserweights.

In the second trade Booker T, hot off his win against Kurt Angle in the cage last Smackdown!, was swapped for the Big Red Machine, Kane. Sharmell goes with Booker to RAW as part of the deal. Kane is currently out of action, due to Edge's actions at Vengeance, but when he returns he'll be appearing on Thursday nights.

The third and final trade will be revealed on RAW this Monday.

WWE RAW Preview

July 4th, 2005

Last Monday - just 24 hours after being involved in a brutal Hell In A Cell match - Batista was forced to defend his World Heavyweight Championship as Edge used his 'Money In The Bank' title shot contract. Edge had a huge advantage as Batista was in no condition to wrestle. Edge didn't come away with the title, though, as he won via count-out. Edge was irate and used a steel chair to take out his frustration on an already injured Batista. What will the World Heavyweight Champion's condition be like this week? It surely won't be a good one. We'll see the fallout from last week's main event.

The draft finished last week with RAW's final two picks being Big Show and Rob Van Dam. Big Show was not in a good mood last week and he destroyed Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel set. 'Y2J' has challenged Show to a match this week, which was accepted. Will Jericho get some revenge for Show's actions? Or will Big Show be able to take out his anger on Jericho, who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Speaking of the draft, two trades were announced on WWE.com the other day. Heidenreich and Booker T come to RAW in switches for Tajiri and Kane. How will Heidenreich and Booker impact RAW? There was also another trade announced, but the superstars who were a part of it were not revealed, we'll find out who they are on RAW.

Also last week, we saw Triple H decline a challenge from Shelton Benjamin, and then we saw The Game attack Benjamin in his match against Christian. We'll find out what Shelton has to say.

Intercontinental Champion Muhammad Hassan says he is ready for a long reign as champion on RAW. It could quickly come to an end as Hassan takes on Chris Benoit in one-on-one action with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line.

Don't miss RAW this Monday night!

Segment 1: RAW Hype

(1 Minute)

Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler welcomed us to RAW from the commentary table by the stage. They both told us what there was in store for us. Chris Benoit would be challenging Muhammad Hassan for the WWE Intercontinental Title and Chris Jericho would be facing off against Big Show. They also informed the viewers of the trades that had been made between RAW and Smackdown! - Tajiri and Kane were off to Smackdown!, whereas Heidenreich and Booker T were now on RAW. They also told us that another trade had been made and would be announced by Eric Bischoff shortly.

Overall Rating = 74.4%

Segment 2: Third Trade Announced

(5 Minutes)

The former World Tag Team Champions, The Hurricane and Rosey made their way to the ring with Stacy Keibler. They were ready for tag team action, but were surprised when Eric Bischoff came out with a microphone. He said that he was about to announce the final trade, and that one of the two superstars he had acquired would be facing Hurricane and Rosey in the tag team match next. Bischoff told us that he was sad to announce that Eddie Guerrero had got his wish, and he was back on Smackdown! (the crowd cheered). We were then told that for Eddie Guerrero, RAW had acquired Rene Dupree and Carlito Caribbean Cool (the crowd jeered). He then told us that Rene Dupree would be in the tag team match next, and his partner would be Sylvain Grenier!

Overall Rating = 77.4%

Segment 3: The Hurricane & Rosey w/Stacy Keibler vs. La Resistance (Rene Dupree & Sylvain Grenier) w/Robert Conway

(13 Minutes)

As Bischoff left, Dupree, Grenier and Conway made their way out - La Resistance were back together. Grenier began the match with Hurricane, and got the upper hand with some brutal forearms. He tagged in Dupree, who came in very confidently and drilled Hurricane with a spinebuster. He did his 'French Tickler' routine, but was clobbered in the back by Rosey. Hurricane got a tag and Rosey beat down on Dupree with some body slams before knocking Grenier off the apron, into Conway. Dupree then used a thumb to the eye to stun Rosey and then took him down with a dropkick. Grenier tagged in and a double team ensued, as Rosey was slammed hard to the mat. Frequent tags between La Resistance followed and Rosey was double-teamed a few times. Rosey came back, though, and hit a Samoan drop on Dupree and then made the tag. Hurricane came in and did a number on Grenier and Dupree, sending them both to the outside. Hurricane then jumped over the top rope, looking to get all three La Resistance members, but came up empty as they all moved just in time. Action spilled to the ring as Rosey was hit with the Au Revoir by Grenier and Dupree as Conway got onto the apron, distracting the referee. Conway had slid the French flag into the ring, and Dupree used it to waffle The Hurricane and get the 3 count. Stacy checked on Rosey and Hurricane as La Resistance walked up the ramp, happy with themselves.

Winners: La Resistance

Match Reaction = 66.6%

Match Quality = 65.0%

Overall Rating = 69.8%

Segment 4: Shelton's Reaction

(6 Minutes)

Todd Grisham was backstage standing by with Shelton Benjamin. Todd asked Shelton what his thoughts were after Triple H's actions last week. Shelton said he didn't get it, Triple H declines a match with Shelton, and then goes and attacks him from behind. Benjamin said that 'Triple H is just a coward'. He then went on to again challenge Triple H to a match next week on RAW, because 'now, Triple H has something to prove'.

Overall Rating = 71.0%

Segment 5: Val Venis vs. Simon Dean w/Maven

(12 Minutes)

One half of the World Tag Team Champions, Simon Dean took on Val Venis in singles action. Maven accompanied his tag team partner to the ring and proved to be a distraction at various points in the match. Maven taunted Venis earlier on to allow Dean to attack his opponent from behind. Dean took control of the match from there and trapped Venis in a body lock. Venis powered out eventually, flipping Dean over his head and then levelling him with some big clotheslines. Dean then got slammed hard to the mat and Venis went up-top. Maven climbed on the apron, the referee telling him to get off. Maven argued with the ref and then shook the top rope, causing Venis to fall groin-first onto the turnbuckle. Maven acted like it was an accident, but the referee was having none of it and he 'ejected' Maven from ringside. As the referee was trying to get Maven to go backstage, Dean climbed out of the ring and grabbed his tag team title belt. He nailed Venis with it and then got the pinfall as the referee returned to the ring.

Winner: Simon Dean

Match Reaction = 66.4%

Match Quality = 68.4%

Overall Rating = 75.6%

Segment 6: The RAW Debut Of Carlito's Cabana

(10 Minutes)

Carlito made an unwelcome debut on RAW. He didn't seem to care about the fans' reaction as he hosted his segment, Carlito's Cabana, for the first time ever on RAW. Carlito said being on RAW was 'cool', but being in Toronto, Canada? 'That's not cool!' He then said that the Cabana would be the greatest show ever on RAW and that The Highlight Reel was 'no match for Carlito's Cabana'. Carlito said he had a huge guest and then introduced the World Heavyweight Champion, Batista! Batista made his way to the ring to a huge ovation. He wasn't in a very good mood and he was still hurting from his injuries suffered at Vengeance and also last week when Edge attacked him after their match. Carlito told Batista that he wasn't cool enough to be World Heavyweight Champion, Carlito was though. Batista got into Carlito's face, making the host cower into one of the deck chairs in the ring. Out of nowhere, Edge ran into the Cabana and attacked Batista. He stomped away on the champion, tearing off his shirt to reveal bandages wrapped around The Animal's abdomen. Edge used the deck chairs and the barrel of apples in the Cabana to beat down Batista as Carlito exited the ring, watching from the ramp. Edge then destroyed Batista with a spear and picked up the World Heavyweight title, staring at it with a grin on his face.

Overall Rating = 75.1%

Segment 7: Booker T w/Sharmell vs. Tyson Tomko

(13 Minutes)

New RAW arrival Booker T made his way to the ring with Sharmell to face Tyson Tomko. Tomko wanted the win after suffering a loss last week at the hands of Chris Benoit. Tomko took it to Booker in the early part of the match, rocking him with some punches and a big powerslam. Booker fought back with chops and kicks, sending the 'Problem Solver' over the top rope with an outside crescent kick. Outside, Booker slammed Tomko's head into the timekeeper's table and then hit a suplex on the protective mats as Sharmell cheered her husband on. Booker broke the referee's count but when coming back outside, he got hit with a kick to the face. Tomko slammed Booker onto the security barrier and then drilled him with a clothesline to the back of the head. Tomko stalked Sharmell, but Booker saved her with a clothesline out of nowhere to Tomko. Back in the ring, Booker went for the Scissors Kick, but missed and connected with a superkick instead for a 2 count. Tomko then went for a back drop, but it was countered with an atomic drop by the Bookerman. Booker then hit the Book End for a near fall. Tomko came back and went for a pumphandle slam, but Booker slid out of the hold and hit the Scissors Kick for the 1, 2, 3 and the victory.

Winner: Booker T

Match Reaction = 76.4%

Match Quality = 66.8%

Overall Rating = 71.5%

Segment 8: Heidenreich Finds Some Friends

(1 Minute)

Heidenreich was walking backstage and he entered the locker room to find William Regal. Heidenreich asked Regal to be his friend, but as Regal was stuttering to respond, Eugene came into the picture, making his return to RAW. Eugene was excited as usual and had his thumb in his mouth. He recognised Heidenreich and did the Heidenreich march arm movement. Heidenreich grinned and asked Eugene to be his friend, to which Eugene emphatically agreed. The two marched away as Regal shook his head and sighed.

Overall Rating = 73.1%

Segment 9: The Crippler Shuts Hassan Up

(7 Minutes)

Muhammad Hassan came to the ring, flanked by Daivari. Hassan showed off the Intercontinental Title around his waist and grabbed a microphone. He told everyone that he would be the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion ever, seeing as he would never lose it. He reminded us that he was yet to be pinned or forced to tap out on RAW. Benoit then interrupted Hassan, coming to the ring with a microphone. Benoit took an old 'Y2J' catch phrase and told Hassan to 'shut the hell up'. Benoit then told Hassan that he obviously had a lot to say, but the problem was that nobody wanted to listen to it. The Crippler then told Hassan to 'just shut up and wrestle'.

Overall Rating = 77.2%

Segment 10: WWE Intercontinental Championship

Chris Benoit vs. Muhammad Hassan © w/Daivari

(19 Minutes)

Benoit took it to the Intercontinental Champion in the early going, rocking him with some forearms, headbutts, stinging chops and a powerful release German suplex, forcing Hassan to take cover on the outside. Hassan sat on the apron, trying to get his breath back but was hit with a baseball slide by Benoit, knocking him off the apron and into the security barrier. Benoit delivered some more chops on the outside and then knocked down Daivari when he tried to interfere. Benoit went to powerbomb Daivari, but Hassan attacked and threw Benoit into the ring. Hassan hit a diving shoulder block and then a reverse DDT for a 1 count. Hassan locked his opponent in a dragon sleeper, but Benoit managed to reverse into a sharpshooter. Hassan made it to the ropes, though. Benoit then went for a suplex, but it was countered by Hassan into a DDT. Hassan then locked Benoit in a grounded abdominal stretch. After a few minutes, Benoit was able to get up with the crowd's encouragement and hit a snap suplex. Both men exchanged blows, Benoit coming out on top with some stinging chops. The Crippler hit three German suplexes and then went up-top. He went for the diving headbutt, but Hassan moved and locked in the Camel Clutch. Benoit was amazingly able to stand up while in the move, but he staggered backwards with Hassan still on his back and knocked out the referee. Benoit trapped Hassan in the Crossface, but it was broken up as Daivari came into the ring. Benoit was caught in a two-on-one assault. William Regal then ran down to the ring and helped Benoit, fighting off Hassan and Daivari. The referee came to and saw the big brawl, causing him to call for a no contest. Regal threw Daivari over the top rope and Benoit got rid of Hassan. The two stood tall in the ring as Hassan and Daivari stumbled away.

Winner: No Contest

Match Reaction = 76.4%

Match Quality = 74.3%

Overall Rating = 82.5%

Segment 11: Gauntlet To The Game

(6 Minutes)

Backstage, Todd Grisham was standing next to Triple H and Ric Flair. Todd asked Triple H whether he was going to accept Shelton Benjamin's second challenge. Triple H laughed and told Grisham that no, he wasn't going to accept the challenge. Triple H reiterated his comments that he had nothing to prove. On the other hand, Triple H said, Shelton had a lot to prove. Triple H said that if Shelton really wants to face him, then next week on RAW, he will begin the 'Gauntlet To The Game', where he will face three opponents of Triple H's choosing, one each week. If Shelton fails to win all three matches he will not be able to face Triple H. 'In the unlikely event that he wins all three' he'll get to go one-on-one with the 'greatest wrestler in the world' - Triple H.

Overall Rating = 85.0%

Segment 12: Main Event

Chris Jericho vs. Big Show

(15 Minutes)

Jericho was ready right from the get-go as he took it straight to Big Show. Jericho hit a nice dropkick, sending Show out onto the apron. Jericho then hit a springboard dropkick to take down the big man. Jericho leaped over the top rope, but Show caught him and drove him spine-first into the ring post. Show then drove Jericho into the security barrier and then the ring apron, doing more damage to Jericho's back. In the ring, Show locked on a backbreaker submission, and even delivered some brutal slaps to Jericho's chest while he was in the hold. Show drove Jericho into the corner and then hit a running butt-bump and got a 2. Big Show then lifted Jericho up and hit a modified Samoan drop for another near fall. Show dug his knee into Y2J's back and grabbed a hold of his head, wearing him down. Jericho fought back with some elbows and then went for a hurricanrana, but Show stopped that, throwing Jericho across the ring. Show went for a clothesline, but Jericho ducked and hit a dropkick to the knee and then a missile dropkick from the top rope. Show powered out of the count at 2. Jericho connected with a swinging DDT and the Lionsault, but could only get a 2. He went for the Walls Of Jericho, but could not turn Big Show over and was kicked away. Y2J then hit another missile dropkick, sending Show staggering across the ring, squashing the referee in the corner. The referee fell to the mat and Show drilled his opponent with a big boot. Show went for the Chokeslam, but Jericho kicked his way out of it, only to fall victim to another big boot. Jericho rolled out of the ring and grabbed a steel chair. He went to use it, but Big Show snatched it away. Show went to use the weapon, but Jericho scouted it and hit his running enziguri, knocking the chair into Show's head. Jericho fell on top of Big Show as the referee came to and made the 3 count.

As Jericho was celebrating in the ring, Big Show got back up and attacked him from behind. Show nailed Jericho with a huge Chokeslam onto the steel chair and stood tall as RAW went off the air.

WWE Smackdown! Preview

July 7th, 2005

The question that has been on everybody's mind since last Thursday is 'Will Kurt Angle accept Shawn Michaels' WrestleMania 21 rematch challenge?' We'll find out this Thursday on Smackdown!.

Eddie Guerrero returns to Smackdown! this Thursday as part of the trade made between the General Managers. Carlito and Rene Dupree are now on RAW, but Eddie is back on Smackdown! - he'll most likely collide in some way, shape or form with Rey Mysterio.

Christian and Rhyno came to Smackdown! last week as part of the Draft Lottery. Christian got into a war or words, and then fists, with WWE Champion John Cena. Don't miss the fallout from last week's brawl.

The tournament to determine the number one contender to Paul London's Cruiserweight Championship continues this week as the semi-finals begin with Rey Mysterio against Juventud.

The Dudley Boyz are scheduled to make their Smackdown! returns this week, and last week they targeted MNM and the WWE Tag Team Titles. We'll see what the Dudleyz have planned this Thursday.

Also last week, Lance Storm beat Charlie Haas in a non-title match - thanks to a distraction from Dawn Marie. The pair seem to be together again, what havoc will they cause this week?

In what we now know was the last Carlito's Cabana on Smackdown! last week, The Rock was victim of a 4-on-1 assault by The Cabinet. Rock is out for revenge this week and he may get some as he takes on Orlando Jordan in singles action.

Tune into Smackdown! this Thursday at 8pm on UPN.

Confirmed Matches:

Rey Mysterio vs. Juventud - Cruiserweight Title #1 Contender Tournament Semi-Final

The Rock vs. Orlando Jordan

Still reading this, still enjoying it. I liked the SD choices, and it's spooky how your RAW choices were just as the real life ones. I'd just like to say that Rhyno is an excellent choice, and had the WWE not ruined him (starting as soon as they brought him in), he could easily be World Champion, or at least challenging for it. He's incredibly underated. Christian was also a top choice, I can see him right up there between uppercard and ME.

Love the teaming of Heidenreich and Eugene, should be interesting, especially with Regal as the "bemused gardian" type character.

Not too keen on CCC on RAW, as RAW now has two host segments, whilst SD has none. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it pans out.

Gauntlet to the Game is also very interesting, as is the Edge/Batista feud, although I wasn't too keen on the wasting of the money in the bank title shot (it seemed to me like you were trying to get rid of that aspect of Edge's story so you could do something else, too obvious IMO).

I like the fact that you put La Resistance back together, Conway and Grenier were getting stale.

The Gauntlet To The Game is also very interesting. I've been reading this diary for a while now, and I've been liking most of the things you've done so far, the banners are really good as well, keep up the good work, it looks like a lot of people are appreciating it.

Good Raw. I hope the reformation of the original La Resistance somehow leads to Conway leaving the group and going solo. I like the Gauntlet idea. It could really put Shelton over if he wins all three matches and faces Triple H.

Segment 1: The Rock Will Lose Tonight... According To JBL

(7 Minutes)

To kick off Smackdown! this week, John Bradshaw Layfield made his way to the ring, without The Cabinet. JBL picked up a microphone and said tonight, Smackdown! wasn't The Rock's show, it wasn't even JBL's show. It was Orlando Jordan's show. JBL said that this is because he is going to be victorious in the main event tonight, as he goes one-on-one with The Rock. JBL reminded Rock that he held the WWE Championship longer than anybody else in the past ten years, proving that he is indeed a 'wrestling God'. He also told us that JBL was smart, he picked only the best to work for him in his Cabinet, and that's why Orlando Jordan was his Chief Of Staff, because he was good enough. Rock isn't good enough, according to JBL, and that was why he would lose tonight against JBL's Chief Of Staff.

Overall Rating = 77.7%

Bubba and Akio started things off, Bubba, with the obvious size advantage, took it straight to Akio with three body slams in a row. Akio tagged in Kidman, but Kidman received similar treatment as he was drilled with a couple of clotheslines and a back body drop. D-Von then tagged in rocked Kidman with a shoulder block and gave Akio a big elbow. The Dudleyz worked over Akio in their corner, using frequent tags and double team moves to wear him down. They even hit the 'Whassup' headbutt. Kidman tried to get in the match illegally, but he was sorted out by Bubba with a big powerbomb. The Dudley Boyz then hit Akio with the Dudley Death Drop, much to the delight of the crowd. Akio was pinned.

Storm picked up a steel chair and slammed it on the back of Haas. He then locked on the Canadian Maple Leaf as Dawn laughed at Haas. Torrie then came into the picture and slapped Storm, causing him to release the hold. She then dove at Dawn, tackling her to the ground. Storm grabbed Torrie and threw her off of Dawn. Dawn kicked Torrie and shoved her to the floor before instructing Storm to put the Canadian Maple Leaf on Torrie. He did so and Torrie yelled in pain. Juventud then waffled Rey with a modified pumphandle slam for a very near fall. He then dragged Mysterio to the corner and signalled for a high risk move. He came off the top with a 450, but missed. Mysterio threw Juvi onto the second rope, looking for the 619. As he was about to do it, Eddie Guerrero's theme music hit. Mysterio stared at the entrance way, but Eddie didn't show at all. Juvi took advantage and dropkicked Rey into the referee and both went tumbling out of the ring. Eddie Guerrero then showed up, steel chair in hand. Mysterio staggered to his feet and received a devastating chair shot right to the skull. Juventud pulled the referee back into the ring and pointed out Mysterio on the outside. The referee, after some confusion at Eddie being out there, counted to 10, awarding the match to Juventud via count-out as Mysterio got to his knees on the outside, holding his head.
