I've just read this diary from beginning to end and it's the best WWE diary I've ever read and has kept me hooked all the way through. The booking is top notch and the writing style is perfect IMO as it's easy to follow and you get your point across.

I'm loving the build for the feuds, although with the way the last Smackdown ended I feel it would hurt Christian greatly to lose to Cena, unless your planning on putting right back down the card to U.S. level because I can see a Storm/Christian feud working but he deserves much more.

Everything else is great and I think this is the first time a diary has got me psyched in aniticipation for the next show.

Anyway, predictions.

Note: I modified my writing style a little bit for The Great American Bash. I wrote out interviews in full and also added commentary between segments. I think it gives the pay-per-views that extra 'special' feeling. Of course, I will welcome your feedback and whether the majority of you lot think it sucks or rocks will decide whether I do this again in the future. I will NOT be modifying my writing style for RAW, Smackdown!, Velocity or Sunday Night Heat, though, as I would find it too much and it would probably kill my desire to continue this. I can handle doing it once a month if that's what you guys like. So, without any further ado, I present to you - The Great American Bash!

The Great American Bash

(5 Minutes)

The opening video for Smackdown!'s The Great American Bash began the pay-per-view. It began with the American national anthem and images of USA troops with their hands over the left side of their chests, on their hearts. An American flag waved in the background. The footage then fizzled out and new music played - The Great American Bash theme, 'Ugly' by The Exies. We saw some action clips of John Cena, nailing numerous foes with the F-U, including him beating JBL with the move at WrestleMania 21 when he became WWE Champion. Clips of Christian were then shown, saluting his peeps and beating down opponents. As the music got going, Cena and Christian clips were joined by clips of other Smackdown! superstars - Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, JBL, Rey Mysterio. The opening video came to an end with John Cena holding up his WWE title belt and spinning the middle of it around.

Welcome To The Great American Bash

(1 Minute)

The opening pay-per-view pyro exploded on the entrance ramp and around the ring as the crowd went crazy, all holding up their signs for the cameras to get a good look at them. The arena was soon covered in thick smoke as a result of the pyro, the viewers could barely see the stage where there was a large rectangular screen with the Great American Bash logo just above it. Either side of the large screen was a big star which acted as another screen. The cameras went down to Michael Cole and Tazz at the commentary table, ringside.

Michael Cole: "Welcome everybody to The Great American Bash! Michael Cole and Tazz here at ringside."

Tazz: "Smackdown!'s back on pay-per-view, baby, and have we got some awesome matches to come tonight!"

Michael Cole: "You're not wrong there, partner. Tonight, Eddie Guerrero battles Rey Mysterio in a 30-Minute Iron Man match!"

Tazz: "That's going to be one hell of a match, no doubt about it, but we also have a WrestleMania 21 rematch tonight between Kurt Angle and the 'Heart Break Kid' Shawn Michaels!"

Michael Cole: "That's right, Tazz, two of sports entertainment's greatest ever athletes step into the ring to square off once more. Will they be able to top their performance at WrestleMania?"

Tazz: "Well I don't know about that, Cole, that was one of the greatest matches of all time, it'll be extremely difficult to beat it. And what about that main event. I'm pumped up and ready for that one!"

Michael Cole: "Of course, how can you forget? John Cena defends his WWE Championship against 'Captain Charisma', Christian!"

Tazz: "Things got a little out of hand last Thursday when Christian attacked the WWE Champion during his little concert thing."

Michael Cole: "Yes they did, but Cena was able to battle back and stand tall. Will he be able to do it again tonight? We'll find out in the main event."

Overall Rating = 68.6%

Michael Cole: "Tonight's action looks like it's about to get underway as here comes Super Crazy, ready for the triple threat Cruiserweight Championship match!"

WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Paul London © vs. Super Crazy vs. Juventud

(14 Minutes)

Juventud, according to Tazz, was the 'wildcard' in this match as officially Super Crazy won the tournament to determine a number one contender and if it were not for the unfortunate controversy over the final, this would be a singles match. London made his usual entrance, racing down the aisle and sliding across the canvas, Juvi took advantage of this and stomped away on the champion, forcing the bell to be rung. Juvi pulled London to his feet and pressed him into the corner, striking him with loud, stinging chops. London was able to duck a right hand, come out behind Juventud and attempt a reverse victory roll after pushing him into the corner, but Super Crazy broke the count up. Super Crazy went to work on London with some blows to the back, he then connected with a snap suplex for a 2 count.

Crazy backed London into the far corner and whipped him across the ring to the corner where Juvi was recuperating. 'The Juice' was able to dodge the oncoming London and slammed him to the mat by the hair. Crazy then came across and joined Juvi, whipping London across the ring and drilling the opponent with a double dropkick. Crazy went for a cover, but Juvi broke it up. Juventud went for the cover, but Crazy broke it up. A shoving match between the challengers ensued, Juvi getting the best of it and dropping Crazy to the mat with a drop toe hold before hitting a basement dropkick to the side of the head.

London came back into the match-up with some forearms directed at Juvi's skull. Juvi ducked another forearm and grabbed London with a waistlock. The champion was able to roll through, but Juvi kept hold of him and they were back to square one. Paul London then tripped Juvi up and went for a leg move, but Juventud kicked him in the rear, forcing him forwards shoulder-first into the ring post. Juvi kicked London out of the ring and then turned - straight into a super kick from Super Crazy. The move only got 2.

Super Crazy hooked up a suplex, but Juventud reversed and got a suplex of his own, dropping Crazy across the top rope. As he hung over the rope, Juventud climbed up to the second rope and connected with a leg drop. Crazy bounced off of the apron and fell to the mats outside. Paul London got onto the apron and got some shots in on Juventud. 'The Juice' came back with some shots of his own and then flipped over the ropes and London to the outside, looking for a rolling powerbomb. London held onto the ropes, though, and Super Crazy kicked Juvi in the gut. The two exchanged punches but were both promptly taken out by a London asai moonsault! All three men were down.

London was the first to a vertical base and he took advantage of it, rolling Juventud back into the ring and getting a 2 count. He went to whip him across the ring, but it was reversed and London was sent crashing into the turnbuckles. Juvi charged at him, but London jumped over him and hit a 'mushroom stomp', sending Juvi face-first into the pads. London turned quickly and drilled him with a dragon suplex with a bridge, but could only get a near fall. The champion dragged Juventud to the corner, looking for the 450 splash. Super Crazy re-entered the ring and cut him off, battling on the top rope with him. Juventud was back up by this point and he picked Super Crazy up onto his shoulders, as if for an electric chair. London dived from the top rope, but didn't connect with the cross body as Crazy ducked. London got back to his feet and Juvi turned around. Before the champion could do anything, Juvi launched Crazy off of his shoulders. Super Crazy landed on London's shoulders and hit a hurricanrana as the crowd gasped and applauded. Juventud then rocked London with the Juvi Driver, but Crazy broke up the count. Juventud was slammed to the mat by Super Crazy, who then went for his Trifecta Moonsault combination. He hit the first two, but London was back to his feet by the third. He stopped Crazy, climbing out onto the apron and drilling him with some right hands. Super Crazy battled off the shots, and shoved London off of the apron. The champion crashed into the commentary table, seemingly catching his head on it. He looked to be out cold.

Back in the ring, Juventud had recovered and he climbed to the top rope with Crazy. The two exchanged punches and Crazy received a kick to the body from Juventud. 'The Juice' then grabbed Crazy, lifted him up and waffled him with a Juvi Driver from the top rope! Juventud rolled into the cover and got the 3 count as London was just standing up on the outside.

The referee handed Juvi the Cruiserweight title belt as 'The Juice' began to walk back up the aisle. Super Crazy was barely moving in the ring, whereas Paul London was pacing around the squared circle energetically, angry that he had just lost his title.

Winner: Juventud (NEW Cruiserweight Champion)

Match Reaction = 70.7%

Match Quality = 81.2%

Overall Rating = 80.2%

Michael Cole: "What a way to kick off The Great American Bash! A great match and a new Cruiserweight Champion!"

Tazz: "What a match right there! The Juice's reign begins!"

Michael Cole: "Ladies and gentlemen, we still have some great matches to come tonight including The Rock and John Bradshaw Layfield going one-on-one. Our colleague Josh Matthews is backstage with The Rock right now."

Payback Is On The Cards

(8 Minutes)

Matthews is holding a microphone while facing the camera backstage. He introduces himself and then his guest, The Rock. The camera zooms out a bit and Rock walks into the picture.

Josh Matthews: "Rock, tonight you have a match agains-"

Matthews is cut off as The Rock puts his hand up to him, signalling that he wanted to speak.

The Rock: "Finally, The Rock has come back... to Missouri!"

The crowd went wild at the mention of Missouri. A 'Rocky! Rocky!' chant started up and Rock let it continue for half a minute or so before speaking.

The Rock: "Yes, Josh Matthews, The Rock has a match tonight against J...B...L. Now you, the Smackdown! crew, the RAW roster, Michael Cole, Tazz, all of Missouri and the millions... and millions of The Rock's fans saw what happened this past week on Smackdown!. The Rock got his ass whooped good and proper. No, it's true - 'The Great One' was bloodied up. But was it a fair fight, Josh? Was it a little double team? Hell, was it even a triple team? NO! The Rock had five - count it, not one, two, three or even four, but five - jabronis jumping him and beating him down. We had the Bashams and Orlando Jordan, Rhyno and that sum-bitch JBL all wanting a piece of The Rock! You know what, Josh? That's not going to happen tonight, oh no! Tonight at The Great American Bash, 'The People's Champion' grabs JBL, he grabs his Cabinet, he grabs any son-of-a-bitch that gets in his way and he lays the Smackdown! on all their candy asses! The Rock says revenge is on the cards tonight, JBL gets what's coming to him - and that's a big ass-whoopin' by The Rock. JBL has all his fancy butlers and his posh limousine, but none of that matters when you step into that ring and go one-on-one with 'The Great One'! When all the smoke has cleared, all the dust has settled, The Rock will be in the middle of that ring raising his hands in victory standing over a pile of beaten garbage known as J...B...L. If you smell... what The Rock... is... cooking.

Rock pushes away the microphone and the camera gets a shot of him walking away.

Overall Rating = 94.3%

Michael Cole: "The Rock seems ready for action, Tazz."

Tazz: "He always is, Cole."

Michael Cole: "You're right there, partner, but let's focus on our next match-up - the mixed tag team bout as Charlie Haas and Torrie take on Lance Storm and Dawn Marie!"

user posted image

Charlie Haas & Torrie vs. Lance Storm & Dawn Marie

(12 Minutes)

Storm and Dawn came to the ring first, Dawn patting Storm's United States belt to show it off. Haas and Torrie quickly followed, seemingly discussing strategy and pointing to their opponents. Haas and Storm began the match with a tie-up in the middle of the ring, Haas being forced backwards into a neutral corner of the squared circle. The referee got Storm away and another tie-up occurred. Haas backed Storm into the opposite corner of the ring this time. He broke the lock when told to by the official, but was promptly stunned with a thumb-to-the-eye from the United States title holder. Storm then battered away at Haas's chest with some knife-edge chops and a couple of punches. He then whipped Haas to the ropes and dropped him with a powerslam on his way back, which got a near fall.

Storm put in some kicks to his downed opponent before pointing at Torrie, and then his partner, Dawn Marie. Dawn tagged in, which due to the rules of the match meant that Torrie had to tag in. Haas crawled towards his corner, but before he could get there Dawn kicked him a few times in the ribs. Torrie ran into the ring and tackled Dawn to the mat, slamming her head into the canvas. The referee got some order between the two. Torrie looked to tackle Dawn again, but Dawn countered with a kick to the stomach, knocking Torrie backwards. Dawn then grabbed Torrie from behind and rolled her up, but could only get 2. She then picked Haas' partner up and sent her back down with a facecrusher, reminiscent of X-Pac's old finisher The move did not get three, though, as Torrie got the shoulder up. Dawn, now frustrated, picked Torrie up off the mat and drove her into the turnbuckles of her corner, the referee warning Storm not to involve himself. Dawn looked for the 10-punch combination, but Torrie got out of the way quickly, pulling her feet off of the ropes and dropping her face-first into the top turnbuckle pad. Storm immediately tagged in and charged at Torrie, who ran to her corner and tagged Haas in.

Haas jumped over the top rope and levelled Storm with a clothesline, and then another, and then another. Charlie then grabbed his opponent by the head and completed a vertical suplex, rolling into a pin attempt for a near fall. The fight spilled to the outside momentarily as Storm tried to mount a comeback. He failed in this, though, being thrown face-first onto the unforgiving steel steps by Charlie. Storm's face seemed to catch the edge of the steps and by the time the action returned to the ring, he was bleeding profusely from around his eye. Haas beat down on Storm in the corner and then went for a monkey flip. Storm reversed, though, slamming his adversary down with a spinebuster. He then pulled Torrie into the ring which caused loud boos to erupt from the crowd. He sent her across the ring, straight at Dawn who had entered. Dawn levelled the oncoming Torrie with a well-placed kick to the skull. Torrie looked to be out cold, Dawn Marie looking proud of herself. Storm smiled and pulled Haas to his feet, hitting him with a swinging neckbreaker. He then locked on the Canadian Maple Leaf, but Haas was able to grab the bottom rope. Dawn came across and slapped Haas three times. Storm then grabbed Haas by the hair, lifting him up onto his shoulder. Storm connected with a shoulderbreaker as Dawn cheered him on, but the referee could only count 2. Storm yelled out 'It's over!' and climbed to the top rope. He waited for Haas to get to his feet, but he was rocked with a dropkick as he landed. Dawn looked to be in shock as Storm hit the canvas. She was then spun around by Torrie, who had recovered. Torrie hit Dawn with a DDT, pointing at her and yelling. She then helped Haas up. Charlie shook off the cobwebs and delivered numerous suplexes to Storm, firstly a snap vertical then a German, followed by a dragon suplex. Torrie and Dawn began to fight again, rolling to the outside to continue their battle. Inside the ring, Storm broke a Haas grip and went for a superkick, but Haas ducked and tripped the U.S. champion up. He then proceeded to tangle Storm up in the Haas Of Pain. Storm held on for a while, but could not take the pain much longer before slapping the mat.

Haas let go of the hold and let his hands be raised in victory by the referee. On the outside, Torrie had Dawn Marie reeling. She hit her foe with a neckbreaker on the outside, leaving her barely moving as she celebrated the win with Haas.

Winners: Charlie Haas & Torrie

Match Reaction = 71.4%

Match Quality = 52.7%

Overall Rating = 63.5%

Tazz: "Oh my God! Dawn Marie may be out cold here in front of us!"

Michael Cole: "We're going to need some medical attention for Dawn, definitely. But the show must go on, as they say. We'll try and get some help for Dawn Marie while you guys take a look at the recent events between MNM and the Dudley Boyz."

Recap Video

(3 Minutes)

A video recapping the recent rivalry between the WWE Tag Team Champions, MNM and The Dudley Boyz was shown. It began with the Bubba Ray and D-Von returning to Smackdown!, beating Akio and Kidman and putting the latter through a table as a message to MNM, indicating their intentions to once again become WWE Tag Team Champions. We were then taken back ten days and shown D-Von Dudley defeating Johnny Nitro. Last Thursday's match between Bubba Ray and Joey Mercury, where Bubba won the Dudleyz a title shot, was also shown. The recap ended with Theodore Long telling the Dudleyz that it would be a tables match.

Overall Rating = 68.8%

Michael Cole: "So, here we go, a tables match for the WWE Tag Team Championship!"

Tazz: "Yeah, and it's a little unfair, Cole. You got the Dudley Boyz who's match this is, a tables match! They're all about putting people through tables. This is MNM's first ever tables match, they were only told about it on Thursday and they will go into this one very much the underdogs in my opinion."

Michael Cole: "That is true, the Dudley Boyz have a lot of experience in tables matches, but they won this shot fair and square. So, partner, are you going to make a prediction for this one?"

Tazz: "It's tough to call, Cole. Bubba and D-Von have the experience, but MNM have the youth and are at their prime right now."

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Elimination Tables Match

The Dudley Boyz vs. MNM © w/Melina

(16 Minutes)

This tables match was not to be a regular one where normal tag team rules applied. All particpants were in the ring at the same time, tornado style.

MNM looked, understandably, nervous at the start of the match but they soon became more confident as they took it to the Dudleyz. They dropped D-Von with a double dropkick that sent him tumbling to the outside before hitting Bubba with a double suplex. MNM were on top, but Melina started screaming at them to turn around. They did, and saw D-Von Dudley, table in hand. D-Von went to clock the champions, but they scouted it and hit another double dropkick, sending the table crashing onto D-Von as he fell to the mat. Nitro then took the table and set it up near the corner. He punched D-Von onto the table as Mercury climbed up-top. Bubba came back into the picture and knocked down Nitro with a big right hand. He then cut off Mercury, throwing him over the table and D-Von to the mat below. D-Von got up and took out Nitro with a big powerslam. The Dudleyz then set the table up, looking to 3D Mercury through it. Mercury scouted it, though, and kicked D-Von away before knocking down Bubba with a clothesline.

Nitro entered the ring (having exited it moments before) with a steel chair in hand. Mercury held Bubba up for the shot, but Bubba ducked and the chair connected with Mercury's skull. Bubba span Nitro around and hit a Bubba Cutter. D-Von came across and kicked away at Nitro. The Dudleyz sent Mercury packing, throwing him over the top rope. As Melina checked on him, the Dudleyz turned their attention to Nitro. They went to double suplex him through a table, but Nitro countered with low blows to both of them. Bubba and D-Von fell to their knees as Nitro recuperated. He signalled to Mercury to get in the ring, and then pointed at D-Von. Mercury nodded his head and they did the 'Snapshot pose'. Nitro set up the table and MNM then eliminated D-Von with a Snapshot through the table.

D-Von had indeed been eliminated from the match, but he could still partake in it, helping his tag team partner. He was, however, in no state to do that, laying motionless among shards of broken table. The Tag Team Champions then turned their attention to Bubba Ray, but he proved difficult to control as he fought out of their grips with some hard right hand shots to the guts. He followed them up with a big double clothesline, knocking MNM to the mat, holding their throats. Bubba staggered to his feet with that 'far-away look' in his eyes. He then shook his head and took to the outside where he scared away Melina before reaching under the ring for some more wood. He brought out two tables and set them both up on the outside, one on top of the other. He then took apart the steps and tossed them into the ring. As he entered the ring himself, he was promptly assaulted by MNM, much to Melina's delight. They tried to take out Bubba with punches, but he came back with harder ones. Amazingly, D-Von Dudley had got to his feet once again and he laid out the oncoming Joey Mercury with a neckbreaker. D-Von then joined Bubba in beating up Johnny Nitro. As D-Von delivered some hard shots, Bubba Ray took the ring steps and put them by the ropes. Bubba then instructed D-Von to lift Nitro onto his shoulders, which he did in the way of a suplex. As Michael Cole shouted frantically at the commentary table, Bubba Ray slowly climbed the steps and dumped Nitro over the top rope and through both tables he had set up with a powerbomb! The crowd went into a frenzy as the camera got a shot of Melina trying to help Nitro, laying amongst the debris of two broken tables.

By this time, Joey Mercury was back on his feet, stalking the Dudleyz with the chair that had been used earlier. The Dudleyz, returning from viewing the damage caused to Nitro, turned to face Mercury. Joey chucked the chair at D-Von, knocking him down and then hit Bubba with a spinning heel kick, taking him down. Mercury glanced at Nitro among the broken tables and then hit a quick leg drop on Bubba. Melina then climbed onto the apron to distract D-Von. She proved to be a great distraction, as Mercury took the steel chair and knocked D-Von down with it, using it repeatedly to batter him. Satisfied with his work, Mercury turned back to Bubba who had set up another table. Bubba hit a kick to the gut on mercury before dragging him to the corner where he set him up for a powerbomb. Bubba looked to end the match from the second rope with a powerbomb, but Melina rushed across and rocked Bubba with a low blow. Bubba immediately felt the effects which was enough for Mercury to turn the move into a hurricanrana from the second rope, sending Bubba crashing through the table. MNM had retained the titles.

Melina helped Mercury and Nitro down the aisle while they held the tag team title belts. The Dudleyz looked on, beaten and battered, from the ring.

The Rock vs. John Bradshaw Layfield

(17 Minutes)

A tie-up in the middle of the ring began the match, JBL coming off worse as he was shoved to the mat by Rock. The People's Champion grinned at JBL, who looked frustrated. Rock went for another tie-up, but JBL didn't comply, driving his knee into his opponent's gut. Rock, bent double, staggered backwards and then was hit from behind with a big clubbing blow to the back, taking him to the mat. JBL shoved Rock into the corner and began to choke him with his big boot, up to the referee's 4 count. JBL then sent Rock across to the opposite turnbuckles, but got a nasty surprise when he bounded out and hit a flying forearm. 'The Great One' nipped up and hit a scoop slam on his adversary, following that up with a picture-perfect suplex. JBL, holding his back, slid under the bottom rope and onto the apron to catch his breath.

Rock was having none of it and pulled JBL up by his head. Unfortunately for The Rock, JBL hung him over the top rope, hangman style, sending him crashing to the mat clutching his throat. JBL pulled Rock out of the ring and dropped him throat-first onto the commentary table. The referee tried to get the participants back in the ring, but to no avail as JBL whipped Rock into the steel ring steps shoulder-first. Eventually, JBL returned with Rock to the ring and tried to end it with a pinfall, but Rock managed to kick out. JBL then got up to his knees and grabbed hold of his foe in a sleeper hold.

Rock managed to battle out of the hold after a few minutes of suffering, dropping JBL with a back suplex. Both men used the ropes to pull themselves up to a vertical base. Rock then came at JBL with a hard right hand, but received one himself. He hit another, then blocked JBL's before connecting with three in a row. He went for a fourth, but JBL ducked and drilled Rock with a full nelson slam. JBL smiled, thinking it was over, but Rock kicked out again. JBL, now frustrated, picked his opponent up and set him up for a powerbomb, arms out to the side in The Cabinet's 'longhorn' symbol. He lifted Rock up for the powerbomb, but Rock managed to counter in mid-air, slipping out of the grip and landing a DDT!

Both men were barely moving as the referee started his count. At 6, Rock managed to drape an arm over JBL, who kicked out just after 2.

Rock got to his feet moments before JBL did the same. Rock hit some more punches and then looked for a back body drop after sending JBL to the ropes. Layfield scouted it well, though, and with a well-placed kick to the chest, sent Rocky staggering. Rock charged, but JBL ducked and pulled down the top rope. Rock went flying over it and landed on the mats outside. JBL followed him out and aimed to send Rock face-first into the ring post, but it was not to be as Rock countered with a short-arm clothesline. Rock then connected with some stinging chops before getting JBL back into the ring. The Rock looked for the sharpshooter and got it cinched in. JBL, yelling in pain reached desperately for the ropes, but as he got closer, Rock pulled him back to the middle of the ring. JBL's Cabinet - Orlando Jordan, Danny and Doug Basham then ran down to the ring. Rock was forced to let go of the hold and knock Orlando off of the apron. The Bashams entered the ring, but were both taken down by a clothesline. While sorting out The Cabinet, Rock's attention had left JBL who had brought a chair into the ring. Rock dodged the chair shot and nailed Layfield with a spinebuster. He set up for The People's Elbow, but was tripped at the ropes by Doug Basham. The referee saw it and went over to the ropes, signalling that the Bashams were ejected from ringside. As the referee tried to get the Bashams out of the way, Orlando snuck into the ring. He picked up the chair JBL had tried to use and swung it at The Rock. Rock ducked it again and levelled Orlando with the Rock Bottom!

Orlando rolled out of the ring as Rock turned straight into the Clothesline From Hell. JBL shouted at the referee to get back in the ring, which he did. He made the count - 1, 2, but no! Rock somehow kicked out! JBL was shocked and threatened the referee, telling him it was a 3. He eventually turned back to Rock, but his argument with the official had given Rock time to recover. Out of nowhere, Rock drilled JBL with the Rock Bottom. He hooked the leg and got the 3 count!

The referee raised The Rock's hand and the crowd went mental. Rock climbed to the second rope to celebrate his win, but was quickly attacked by both Bashams. Rock, tired from his match, tried to mount a comeback, but could not as Orlando Jordan joined in the assault. All three continued to beat down Rock as JBL yelled encouragement. JBL then hit Rock with a kick right between the legs before nearly knocking him out with a devastating chair shot. The Cabinet took the beating to the outside, where Rock was tossed around like a rag doll. Already bleeding, Rock was pulled to the side of the ring by JBL. Layfield then removed the protective mats and destroyed Rock with a powerbomb onto the cold, concrete floor.

Tazz: "I'll have to agree with you there, Cole, that was uncalled for. We're going to need more medics down here, that was one huge powerbomb."

Michael Cole: "We hope that The Rock is OK, somebody needs to sort Bradshaw and his Cabinet out, that was disgraceful!"

Tazz: "Yeah it was disgraceful and this obviously isn't over between Rock and JBL."

Michael Cole: "So The Rock wins the match and then gets beaten down in a mugging, that's what it was - a mugging!"

Tazz: "Alright, Cole, calm down, keep your cool. We've got to get to our next match."

Michael Cole: "OK partner, you're right. And what a match it is going to be. Over the last few months a new side of Eddie Guerrero has been revealed, trying to beat Rey Mysterio which he just can't seem to do. Tonight is his final opportunity."

Tazz: "He's got a few opportunities tonight, he could beat Mysterio two, three, four, five or more times in this type of match!"

Michael Cole: "That's right, this is no ordinary match. It's a 30-Minute Iron Man match! The rules are simple - you try and get as many wins over your opponent in the time limit, whether they be by submission, pinfall, countout or disqualification. The competitor with the most wins at the end of the thirty minutes goes home with the victory. Let's show you how this match came about."

30-Minute Iron Man Match

Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero

(36 Minutes)

Both men circled in the middle of the ring as the opening ring bell was sounded. The atmosphere was electric as the crowd expected a fantastic match. An 'Eddie sucks!' chant rounded the crowd, putting Guerrero off his game for a minute or two. The two combatants then locked up in the middle of the squared circle, Eddie getting the better of the confrontation and wrapping up his adversary in a tight headlock. Rey tried to shoot Eddie off, but the grip was not broken. Mysterio managed to roll-up Guerrero for a 2 count while still in the headlock, but Eddie was soon back up with the lock still in place. Rey was able to get Eddie off of him by sending him to the ropes, but he came back with a fierce clothesline and locked in another headlock, grounding Mysterio. Mysterio tried to escape, but Eddie held on and ended up in a similar position to a camel clutch. Rey was able to scamper towards the ropes to break the hold.

They locked up once more, Mysterio coming out of it with a wrist lock on his opponent. Eddie reversed it into one of his own, but Rey slid between his legs, flipped him to the mat and hit a leg drop for a near 2 count. Eddie tried to get up, but was stopped with a dropkick to the side of the head when at his knees. Mysterio then took to the top rope and dove off with a cross body block attempt which was countered with a powerslam by Guerrero. Eddie then stomped away at his opponent before mounting him and punching away. Eddie played to the crowd momentarily but it cost him as Rey got in some shots to the gut. Rey came off of the ropes, only to be sent to the mat with a high-leg clothesline and was only just able to kick out of the pinfall attempt.

Guerrero then grabbed Mysterio with a front face lock and hooked him up for a suplex. Mysterio flipped out of it, though, and dropkicked Eddie onto the second rope. He then went for the 619 but missed it, landing on the apron. Eddie hooked Rey up for a suplex into the ring, but Rey flipped out of this one, too, rolling up Eddie and getting the 3 count!

Rey Mysterio pins Eddie Guerrero

Eddie got up, shocked and angry. He then took Rey to the mat with a big clothesline which, according to Michael Cole, nearly beheaded Mysterio. Eddie began to pound away on Rey in the corner with some hard right hands and then some stinging knife-edge chops. Rey was whipped across the ring to the opposite turnbuckle hard, sending him sternum first into the pad. Guerrero followed up with another clothesline, this one to the back of the head, and a 2 count. Mysterio seemed to get an adrenaline rush after flipping out of a back drop attempt as he took it to Eddie with some hard punches and kicks. He hit a hurricanrana and followed that up with a dropkick that send Eddie tumbling out of the ring. Mysterio took to the air with a slingshot plancha onto Guerrero, but he was caught. Eddie slammed Rey back-first into the ring post and then slammed him to the floor. Eddie promptly tossed Rey into the ring steps and then connected with all three of his 'Three Amigos'. Guerrero rolled the lifeless Mysterio back into the ring and climbed up-top, coming off with the Frog Splash and getting the pinfall.

Eddie Guerrero pins Rey Mysterio

Eddie went for another quick pin, but the referee couldn't count until the 10-second rest period between the two falls had passed. When he could count, Rey kicked out after 2. Eddie then put Mysterio between his legs and lifted him up for a powerbomb, but it was countered with some punches and a hurricanrana. Both men lay on the mat and the referee started his count. He got up to 8 before either competitor could pull himself up. Rey charged, but Eddie dropped him on the top rope throat-first. The official was taken out inadvertently when Rey missed a dropkick and connected with him. Eddie took the opportunity to hit a low blow and then grab a steel chair from the timekeeper's table. Rey, still feeling the effects of the low blow, staggered to his feet, as did the referee. Eddie saw this and chucked the chair to Rey, who caught it. Guerrero then fell to the mat so the referee saw Mysterio with the chair and Eddie, pretending to be out cold. Mysterio pleaded his case to the referee as Eddie, acting hurt, stumbled to his feet. Mysterio then looked from the ref, to the chair and then to Eddie. Unexpectedly, Rey took the chair and flattened Guerrero with it, causing himself to be DQ'ed.

Eddie Guerrero wins fall - Rey Mysterio disqualified

In the 10 second gap between falls, Rey took the chance to connect with the 619 on Eddie, using the chair for extra impact. The bell rang for the next fall and Rey hit the West Coast Pop for the 3.

Rey Mysterio pins Eddie Guerrero

Guerrero rolled to the outside, holding his head. Rey followed moments later with an asai moonsault onto his opponent. Rey got back up onto the apron and tried to fly off again, but Eddie scouted it well and dodged it, sending Rey face-first onto the security barrier. Eddie then re-entered the ring and shoved the official out of the way, grabbing the steel chair used earlier by Mysterio. He went to the outside, stalked Rey and then smashed it over his skull, causing the DQ.

Rey Mysterio wins fall - Eddie Guerrero disqualified

Eddie began to stomp away at his former tag team partner. Viciously and mercilessly throwing Rey Mysterio around at ringside like a rag doll, Eddie was in control. He slammed his foe onto the commentary table and then commenced prepping the commentary table, ripping off the top part and removing the monitors and wires. The referee came to the outside and tried to talk Eddie out of it, but he would not listen. Guerrero grabbed Rey and pulled him on top of the table, then lifting him up for a suplex or a brainbuster. He hung him there for a while, but maybe too long as Rey kicked his legs and fought out of the move. The two exchanged blows on the commentary table, Eddie got the best of them with a thumb-to-the-eye. He then grabbed Rey by the head and tossed him off of the commentary, over the security barrier and into the crowd. Mysterio landed with a sickening thud on the concrete floor as Eddie, smiling, slid back into the ring. Eddie jokingly looked at an invisible watch as the referee counted to 10, counting out Mysterio who had barely moved.

Eddie Guerrero wins fall - Rey Mysterio counted out

Eddie then went outside and pulled Mysterio back over the barrier and back into the ring. The clock was winding down, currently at two minutes and thirty-three seconds left - the score was tied at 3-3. Guerrero looked at the clock, nodded and tried to rip the mask from Mysterio's head. He managed to tear part of it off, but it wasn't enough to reveal Mysterio's face. Rey battled back and connected with another hurricanrana and got a near fall following a DDT. Mysterio took a glance at the time remaining and then went for yet another hurricanrana. However, this attempt was countered with a devastating powerbomb. Guerrero took to the air, looking for the Frog Splash again, but he did not connect, crashing into the mat. Guerrero stumbled onto the second rope to recuperate. Mysterio saw this and went for the 619, but Eddie managed to catch his feet. Eddie dragged Mysterio into the middle of the ring by his feet and locked on a Texas cloverleaf! Guerrero put the pressure on as Rey screamed out in pain. The clock told us that there were fifty seconds to go. Rey tried to crawl towards the ropes twice, but was dragged back to the middle of the ring. Despite Michael Cole's encouragment, Rey could not hold on and was forced to tap out with four seconds left.

Eddie Guerrero submits Rey Mysterio

The remaining few seconds ticked away with Mysterio nursing his injuries and Eddie walking confidently around the ring. The buzzer sounded the end of the time limit and Eddie walked back down the aisle, a big grin on his face as Mysterio was seen to by the referee.

WrestleMania 21 Rematch

Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle

(24 Minutes)

Angle began the match in control, reverting to his mat wrestling style and out-wrestling Michaels. He trapped HBK in a headlock earlier on which proved difficult to escape from. When he eventually did escape from the hold, Michaels was drilled with a release German suplex. Angle continued to work on the back of Michaels, utilising a body scissors while holding his head in a sleeper. Michaels fought back from this early setback and managed to dodge Angle running at him in the corner and slammed Kurt to the mat with a big body slam. He followed it up with a quick elbow drop and tried to use Angle's Ankle Lock. Angle was quickly able to roll through it though, sending HBK flying over the top rope and crashing on the outside.

Kurt followed Shawn out and pounded on him with some hard punches before hitting a vertical suplex, Michaels' fragile back smacking off the mats with a thud. With a 'woo' Angle picked Michaels up and seemed set to hit a powerbomb, but HBK reversed with a back drop. Shawn then grabbed Angle and drove some hard forearm shots into his skull. Angle staggered as HBK climbed up onto the apron and came flying off with a cross body block. Michaels then tossed Angle onto the commentary table and climbed to the rop rope of the ring. The crowd stood up, gasping in anticipation. HBK leaped from the top-rope, but Angle rolled off of the table - HBK crashed through it by himself.

The referee went to see if HBK was alright, he called for EMTs to come and take a look and they did. Before they could do anything, though, Kurt Angle had picked HBK up and rolled him back into the ring. After a brief argument with the referee, Angle slid in to the ring with the ref. Kurt went for the cover, but amazingly Michaels kicked out after 2. Angle could not believe it and tried two more covers, but again he was unsuccessful in his quest for the 3. Frustrated, Angle wrapped HBK up in a modified rear chin lock, driving his knee into HBK's spine while kneeling atop him. HBK suffered a few minutes of the hold, but eventually battled out, driving his elbow into Angle's gut a few times. He then ran off of the ropes, but received a knee to the gut by Angle, who again applied the rear chin lock while sticking his knee in the back of Michaels. HBK fought out of the move again and dropped Angle with a big back drop. Shawn got to his feet, maybe on adrenaline alone, and hit Angle with a flying forearm. He then nipped up, much to the crowd's delight. HBK hooked up a suplex, but Angle pulled out of it and levelled Michaels with a huge clothesline.

Both competitors were down on the mat and the referee began his 10 count. Angle barely got to his feet in time, just as the referee was about to throw his hands up for the tenth time. HBK was trying to pull himself up using the ropes, but Angle cut him off and stomped him into the corner. Angle then sat Michaels on the top rope, looking for a superplex. The 'Olympic hero' tried it, but HBK grabbed hold of the rope, and Angle's momentum pushed himself backwards, landing on the canvas. Michaels then balanced himself and attempted the elbow drop, but it did not connect and Angle quickly locked in the Ankle Lock. Michaels tried to roll out of the move, but Angle held on. HBK inched towards the rope, but was dragged back to the center of the ring. Shawn was close to tapping, but he managed to get up to one foot while still in the lock. Hobbling, Michaels managed to twist around and hit Angle with an enziguri. HBK grabbed his ankle yelling out in pain.

Kurt got to his feet and stomped on Shawn's ankle, inflicting more damage. Angle then shoved his opponent into the corner and the two exchanged knife-edge chops, loud 'woo's' erupting from the fans. Angle could not take Michaels' chops anymore and raked the eyes of his foe. Angle then tied HBK's ankle up in the ropes and began to kick at it as the helpless Michaels cried out in pain. The referee put a stop to Angle's illegal attack, but the damage seemed to have been done. Kurt pulled Shawn into the middle of the ring and once again applied the Ankle Lock. Shawn was quickly able to roll through this time, though, sending Angle right into the referee, who fell to the mat in the corner.

Kurt took the opportunity to grab a steel chair from ringside. He returned to the ring, but when he went to swing at Michaels, he received a low blow from the Heart Break Kid. Shawn then kicked the chair aside and hit a back body drop and then an inverted atomic drop, followed by a hurricanrana. Michaels then took the chance to go up-top again. This time he connected with the elbow drop as the referee staggered to his feet. Michaels got up and started to 'tune up the band'. Kurt stumbled to his feet and was able to duck the oncoming superkick, instead hitting his adversary with the Angle Slam. Kurt stood up and took down his singlet straps before locking on the Ankle Lock once more. HBK rolled through again, causing Angle to fall to the mat, still with his ankle in the hold. However, Shawn was able to grab a hold of Kurt's ankle - both men were trapped in the Ankle Lock! They both screamed as the other put on the pressure. Angle broke the hold quickly and Michaels followed to nurse his own ankle. Angle charged at HBK, but got some Sweet Chin Music right to the jaw! Michaels fell on top of Angle and the referee made the 3 count.

As HBK was celebrating, though, Kurt Angle got to his feet and took HBK down from behind. He hit another Angle Slam and then re-applied the Ankle Lock. HBK, having endured the hold numerous times in the match, had nothing left and began to slap the mat furiously. Backstage officials and agents came out to try and prise Angle off of Michaels, only succeeding when Angle was happy with his work.

WWE Championship

John Cena © vs. Christian

(20 Minutes)

The challenger for the WWE Championship, Christian, made his way to the ring dressed in his shiny hooded jacket and shiny pants. A dramatic pause followed Christian's music dying down and then the reigning WWE Champion John Cena bounded out onto the stage, holding his title high in the air as the crowd went crazy. Once in the ring, Cena took off his jersey and threw it into the crowd before showing Christian his title and spinning the middle of it. Christian pointed at and mouthed off at Cena, but the referee stopped any pre-match high jinks by lifting the title in the air to show that it was on the line. The bell then sounded to signal the start of the bout.

Both men locked up, Cena being caught in a side headlock by the challenger. Christian promptly turned it into a hammerlock, which Cena reversed into one of his own. Christian tried to get out of it but found out that getting to the ropes was the easiest way to do that. Both men locked up again, but Cena staggered out of it clutching his groin. Christian told the referee that he hadn't done anything, even though Cena looked to be in quite some pain (apparently from a knee to the 'family jewels'). The referee checked on Cena, but he was shoved out of the way as the champion lunged at Christian, sending him reeling with some punches. Christian was clotheslined out of the ring, falling awkwardly on the mats.

The fight came to the outside as both competitors exchanged chops. Cena charged at his opponent, only to be met with a drop toe hold that sent him face-first onto the steel steps. Christian didn't let up, almost immediately driving his boots into Cena's ribs. The action returned to the ring where Captain Charisma very nearly won the title, Cena kicking out just before the 3. The challenger locked the champion in a front facelock while on the mat. Cena got up to his feet and Christian hooked up a suplex, but the champ blocked it. Cena pulled out of the suplex attempt, missed a clothesline and then was momentarily blinded by a thumb to the eye. Christian then slapped Cena around the head a few times, which did not please the champ. Cena came back furiously with hard punches to the side of the head and a big powerslam. Cena went for a suplex, but Christian flipped out of it and rocked the champion with a reverse DDT that got a 2 count.

Christian applied a rear chin lock, Cena fought back and got to his feet, releasing himself from the hold after some stiff elbows to his foe's gut. Cena came off of the ropes, but was met with a nice dropkick and a near fall. Christian got frustrated at the amount of near falls he was getting. He then climbed to the top rope as Cena stumbled to his feet. Christian's axe handle attempt went astray as Cena got a shot to the gut in, flipping Captain Charisma over onto his back. Cena then connected with some right hand shots and a couple of knife-edge chops. Whipping Christian across the ring, there was obviously some fire still left in the champion - he dropped Christian with a flying elbow as he returned. Cena hit a floatover suplex and got a 2 count before sending Christian up in the air and to the canvas with a big back body drop. Cena was running on the energy of the crowd and he waffled Christian with a spinning-out powerbomb and a near fall. Then came the Five-Knuckle Shuffle and another 2 count. Cena stood up and 'pumped it up', squeezing his sneakers. The unsuspecting Captain Charisma staggered into an F-U! Cena made the cover... but there was no count. Cena looked around and saw the referee lying on the mat, holding his head. The viewers were shown a replay which showed what happened very clearly - as Christian was hoisted up for the F-U, his feet had inadvertently clocked the official in the side of the head.

Cena tried to wake the referee up, only getting him up to his knees. The champion then turned straight into a low blow by the challenger. Resounding boos erupted from the crowd and a 'Christian sucks!' chant followed. Christian dropped into the cover, but the referee's slow count could only make 2. Christian signalled that it was over, but he was sent backwards by some forearms from Cena. Cena took down his opponent and then climbed up to the top rope, looking to go high-risk. Christian cut him off, though, before setting up and hitting a spike DDT from the top rope. Christian grinned and crawled into a cover without hooking the leg. This abled Cena to kick out of the pinfall attempt. Angered at the near fall, Christian picked Cena up and drove him into the corner to hit some more chops. He charged in with a clothesline, but Cena ducked and lifted him up for the F-U. Christian slid out of the move, though, looking for the Unprettier. The attempt was thwarted as Cena got a roll-up for a 2 count. Christian took out the champion with a clothesline, confidently showing off to the crowd.

Christian came off the ropes, aiming to hit Cena with a bulldog, but Cena caught him in mid-air and with a unique counter, slammed Christian to the mat with the F-U! Cena rolled into the cover and the referee made the 3 count.

Cena was given his title belt as Christian rolled out of the ring to the arena floor. Cena held the title in the air while standing on the ropes, celebrating the retaining of his championship.

Nice, I've been reading this for a few hours and this is one of the best diaries I have ever read.

I'm kind of disapointed Captain Charisma didn't pick up the win. Still, very good PPV, I enjoyed reading every word of it.

Writing as I read.

Juvi winning isn't that bad of a choice after him getting into the match in the way he did. I can see a three way feud with some great matches coming.

Haas & Torrie winning was my prediction and it gives Haas somewhat of a shot at the US title, probably for Summerslam?

MNM retaining wasn't what I would have done but hopefully you can still let these two continue this feud. I would have liked to see the Dudleys win there and then have MNM use there rematch later...

The Rock winning was what I would have done but the beatdown after is something I wouldn't have. I would have let the Cabinet get their heat back on SD! not taking from The Rocks PPV win.

Eddie winning, will probably cement a match between the two at Summerslam, can't say I'm diapointed by that.

HBK got his win back but Angle attacked after, I guess we'll see another match between the two at Summerslam, eh?

Cena winning is what I expected, but was is next for him? and for that matter Christian?

By the way, I wasn't really in the mood to read the interviews and from what I read of the commentary, I didn't like. Although everything else was great, I just think writing the recaped interviews is better, hey...you could try the same for the commentary in-between matches too?
