This is such a good diary AD. I discovered it like 3 days ago and had to read through it all because i love your style of writing and your graphics (as everyone at BS forums you know, PLUG) are awesome. Keep this up man, I was going to do a diary from the GAB and onwards but I'm actually enjoying this a little too much to start writing at the moment. Nice work (Y)

Cheers Drez. Glad you're liking it.

WWE Smackdown! Preview

August 11th, 2005

In last week's Smackdown! main event, Eddie Guerrero stole a victory against Shawn Michaels thanks to Kurt Angle's interference. This week, Eddie Guerrero will be the guest on Piper's Pit!

Due to his interference in last week's main event, Smackdown! General Manager Theodore Long has forced Kurt Angle into a non-title match against WWE Champion John Cena for this week's main event!

Shawn Michaels has said that this Thursday he will officially issue a challenge to Kurt Angle for a third and final match at SummerSlam. Will Angle accept? Will he even care this week as he'll be concentrating on his match against John Cena?

Last week Orlando Jordan was found backstage, apparently assaulted by an unknown person. Orlando will not be in attendance this week, but JBL and his Secretaries Of Defense, The Bashams, will be as they try to find out who assaulted Orlando.

Charlie Haas, coming off of a failed attempt to capture the United States Championship, will be in action this week as he faces Christian one-on-one.

Rey Mysterio will not be at Smackdown! this week as he recovers from the effects of Rhyno's attack on him last week. Mysterio was Gored through a table and is unlikely to return in the next couple of weeks.

'Primetime' Elix Skipper won his second match last Thursday, beating Funaki. This week he answers a challenge from Super Crazy. They'll square off on Smackdown!.

MNM came away with the WWE Tag Team Titles still around their waists last week. Melina takes on Miss Jackie this Thursday on Smackdown!.

Tune into Smackdown! this Thursday on UPN!

Confirmed Matches:

John Cena vs. Kurt Angle - Non-Title

Charlie Haas vs. Christian

Super Crazy vs. Elix Skipper

Segment 1: Main Event Recap

(3 Minutes)

A recap video of last Thursday's main event was shown to begin this week's Smackdown!. The main moments of the main event match between Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels were shown and also the interference by Kurt Angle, attacking Shawn Michaels. The footage ended with Angle applying the Ankle Lock to a screaming HBK.

Overall Rating = 80.0%

Segment 2: Michaels Versus Angle 3?

(8 Minutes)

Shawn Michaels came down to the ring, slower than usual as a slight limp was hindering him. He grabbed a microphone and gave us a quick reminder of his rivalry with the Olympic Gold Medalist - Kurt Angle. He began the recap at the Royal Rumble where the two crossed each other's path for the first time, then onto WrestleMania 21 where Kurt Angle made him tap out and then to The Great American Bash where he picked up the victory. Michaels was just about to officially lay down the challenge for SummerSlam when Kurt Angle slid into the ring out of nowhere and attacked HBK from behind. Angle put the boots to HBK and then drilled him with an Angle Slam. Angle picked up the microphone as HBK wriggled on the mat, his hand on his back, the crowd booing loudly. Angle said he knew what Michaels was going to say and he accepted his challenge for a third and final match at SummerSlam. Before leaving, Kurt said he would once again make HBK tap out and would leave SummerSlam known as the best wrestler ever to grace a WWE ring.

Overall Rating = 80.0%

Segment 3: Super Crazy vs. Elix Skipper

(13 Minutes)

Super Crazy began this match in full control of Skipper, dodging numerous kicks and connecting with some lethal ones of his own. A particularly hard kick to the sternum sent Skipper tumbling out of the ring. Skipper came back into the match on the outside with a double underhook suplex before he took the match back into the ring. Another suplex got Skipper a near fall. Primetime wore Crazy down with a sleeper, but Crazy battled back and hit a back drop. Both men got to their feet, Super Crazy was able to duck a side-kick and then hit a jumping reverse DDT for a 2 count. Super Crazy slammed Skipper to the canvas and attempted his Trifecta Moonsault combo. He connected with the first two, but Skipper got his knees up on the third moonsault attempt. Skipper laid out Super Crazy with a hurricanrana and then an inverted DDT. Super Crazy managed to dodge a superkick attempt and hit an inverted atomic drop, but Skipper came right back with a clothesline that levelled his opponent. Skipper then took his momentum up to the top rope, but Super Crazy cut him off with some forearm shots. Crazy hooked up a frankensteiner attempt, but Skipper caught him mid-move and jumped forwards from the second rope, slamming Crazy into the mat. Primetime rolled over into the cover and gained the victory as the referee counted to 3.

Winner: Elix Skipper

Match Reaction = 72.8%

Match Quality = 78.2%

Overall Rating = 78.4%

Segment 4: 'Primetime' Wants A Shot

(2 Minutes)

Following his match, Elix Skipper took a microphone from Smackdown! ring announcer Tony Chimel. Skipper said that for the third week in a row, he had proved why he deserved a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. He said that he was the most deserving superstar of a title shot seeing as he's defeated Nunzio, Funaki and now Super Crazy. Skipper said he is better than those three and he's the best Cruiserweight in the WWE. He called Juventud down to defend his title right there and then, saying that it was 'Primetime'.

Overall Rating = 73.7%

Segment 5: Cruiserweight Title Match At SummerSlam

(6 Minutes)

The WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Juventud, did not appear though. To Skipper's frustration the Smackdown! General Manager, Theodore Long, walked out into the aisle. Long said that this was Smackdown!, the land of opportunity, and he was going to give Elix Skipper that opportunity, but he was also going to give five others an opportunity as well. The GM then went on to announce that at SummerSlam, Juventud will defend the WWE Cruiserweight Championship in a six-man Cruiserweight Invitational. The participants will be Juventud (obviously), Elix Skipper, Chavo Guerrero, Super Crazy, Tajiri and Paul London! Skipper seemed a little disappointed that he wasn't getting a one-on-one match for the title, but he apparently took Long's decision well.

Overall Rating = 70.6%

Segment 6: Miss Jackie vs. Melina w/Joey Mercury, Johnny Nitro

(9 Minutes)

In a battle of Smackdown! divas, Miss Jackie took on Melina. Jackie started off the match well, but was soon the victim of dirty MNM tactics. Johnny Nitro tripped her up at the ropes, allowing Melina to mount her and pound her head into the mat. Jackie came back, though, and knocked Melina down with some big clotheslines and a scoop slam which got a 2 count. She even went on to slap Mercury when he tried to interfere. Jackie went for a powerbomb, but Melina countered with a catapult into the corner. Melina rolled up Jackie as she staggered out of the corner and got her feet on the ropes for leverage, cheating her way to a 3 count.

Winner: Melina

Match Reaction = 57.7%

Match Quality = 34.8%

Overall Rating = 32.8%

Segment 7: A New Challenge For MNM

(6 Minutes)

Melina kicked Jackie out of the ring and the tag team champions entered. Melina took a microphone and said she was Smackdown!'s best diva and MNM were Smackdown!'s best ever tag team champions. MNM had beaten every team on Smackdown! and they were obviously the best tag team to ever step foot in a WWE ring. Mark Jindrak then appeared, microphone in hand. He told MNM they hadn't beaten every team on Smackdown! just yet, because they hadn't beaten the Natural Born Thrillers. As MNM looked confused, Sean O'Haire came out from behind the curtain! The re-formed Natural Born Thrillers tagged hands and then rushed down to the ring, sliding in and taking it to MNM, sending the champions out of the ring with punches. MNM retreated up the aisle as Jindrak and O'Haire stood tall in the ring.

Overall Rating = 65.2%

Segment 8: The Thrillers Have A Shot At SummerSlam

(4 Minutes)

Returning from a commercial break, we see Josh Matthews standing backstage. Mark Jindrak and Sean O'Haire come into view, big smiles on their faces. The Natural Born Thrillers then informed us that they'd just come from Theodore Long's office and the General Manager had given them a WWE Tag Team Title shot at SummerSlam! Jindrak and O'Haire walked away still grinning and looking excited.

Overall Rating = 61.3%

Segment 9: RAW Rebound

(5 Minutes)

The RAW Rebound was shown, as usual highlighting the important occurings on the past edition of RAW. We were shown a brief clip of Batista and Edge in the Cabana, but the main event was concentrated on the most, as Muhammad Hassan cost Chris Benoit a match against Randy Orton. The rebound ended with Orton being scared into the crowd by The Undertaker's gongs.

Overall Rating = 87.7%

Segment 10: Charlie Haas vs. Christian

(15 Minutes)

Charlie Haas tried to get back on winning terms after suffering a loss at the hands of United States Champion Lance Storm last week. Christian began the match stronger, shoving Haas to the mat twice after lock-ups, just to slap his chest and 'respect his peeps'. Haas charged at Christian, tackling him to the mat and quickly switching into a fujiwara armbar, but Captain Charisma was right under the ropes. Haas applied some pressure to Christian's arm with a wrist lock, wrenching the arm and almost pulling it out of it's socket. Christian was able to roll through and take down Haas with an arm drag. Haas came right back at his opponent with some chops to the chest and a standing dropkick for a 2 count. Christian took a breather on the outside, only to come back in the ring and be mounted by Haas in the corner who went for the ten-punch combo. Christian managed to counter at six, hitting a low blow on Haas as the referee was looking at Haas' head. Christian got a roll-up with his feet on the ropes but only got 2. A reverse DDT followed, another 2 count. Christian tried to apply a rear chin lock, but Haas quickly wriggled out of it and hit a back suplex. Haas locked in the Haas Of Pain, but Christian was able to get to the ropes. Haas grabbed a waistlock, but Christian span out and hit a German suplex. Christian signalled that it was all over, but Haas reversed an Unprettier attempt and hit a modified backbreaker for 2. Haas looked to be in control and grabbed another waistlock, but Christian pulled the referee towards him and slyly hit a muel kick for the second low blow of the bout. Haas fell to his knees and was easy pickings for the Unprettier, which got the 3.

Winner: Christian

Match Reaction = 76.9%

Match Quality = 76.7%

Overall Rating = 82.8%

Segment 11: Another Attack

(5 Minutes)

Backstage we saw John Bradshaw Layfield, flanked by The Bashams, walking. He reached Theodore Long's office, and told The Bashams to wait outside. JBL entered and we got a camera shot of him in the GM's office. Bradshaw demanded Long find out who was responsable for the assault on Orlando Jordan last week. His Cabinet was down a member, and JBL blamed Long for letting it happen. The GM said it wasn't his fault and he didn't know who was responsable for the attack. Long suggested JBL start an investigation of his own. JBL stormed out of the office to find both Bashams down on the floor, blood trickling from their heads and not moving at all. JBL looked around but couldn't see anybody. He called for the EMTs as he frantically looked for any sign of the attacker.

Overall Rating = 67.5%

Segment 12: Piper's Pit w/Eddie Guerrero

(12 Minutes)

The ring was decked out for Piper's Pit and the Hall Of Famer made his way down to the ring. He introduced his guest - the challenger at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship, a former WWE Champion himself - Eddie Guerrero. Eddie was met by loud jeers and chants of "Eddie Sucks!" by the fans. Piper asked Eddie what he thought of his chances at SummerSlam against John Cena. Eddie replied that he thought they were very good considering he's a much better wrestler than Cena and he also has the edge in experience. Eddie said he was one hundred percent confident of walking away the WWE Champion on August 21st. Piper also asked if Guerrero had any thoughts on tonight's main event between Cena and Kurt Angle. Eddie said he would be watching very closely.

Overall Rating = 84.0%

Segment 13: Main Event (Non-Title)

John Cena vs. Kurt Angle

(20 Minutes)

The Olympic Gold Medalist had the momentum early in the match as he out-wrestled the WWE Champion. Cena realised he didn't want to get into that sort of a match with Angle, so he charged and took Angle to the mat with a big clothesline. Cena hit a couple of forearms, but an Irish whip attempt from him was countered into a German suplex. Cena tried to come back, but Angle connected with another German suplex. Angle locked Cena in a body scissors and wore the champ down. Cena battled back with some elbows to the side of the head, but his rally was cut short as he was sent across the ring via a Kurt Angle belly-to-belly suplex. Angle then hit three Germans and got a 2 count. Angle took a risk, climbing up to the top rope, which Michael Cole commentated we didn't see him do very often. Angle was cut off by Cena, though, and the WWE Champion superplexed the Gold Medalist back into the ring. Both men staggered to a vertical base, Angle rocking Cena with some uppercut forearms, pushing him back into the corner. Cena fought out of the corner, though, and took down Angle with a diving shoulder block. Cena was feeling it as he hit a spinning out powerbomb for a 2 count. Cena signalled and then hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena 'pumped it up' and then went to lift up Angle, but Kurt was playing possum and he picked the ankle of Cena and put him in the Ankle Lock. Cena managed to roll out of the move but Angle was sent flying into the referee. At that moment, Shawn Michaels limped down the aisle and climbed into the ring. Angle staggered to his feet, straight into the Sweet Chin Music. HBK rolled out of the ring and got the referee to come to as Cena hoisted Angle up and slammed him down with the F-U! 1, 2, 3!

As soon as the bell had sounded, Eddie Guerrero had entered the ring from out of nowhere and was beginning to pummel Cena. Angle and HBK had begun brawling and Cena came back with some shots to Eddie. Chaos had engulfed the ring, all four men brawling! The ring bell sounded multiple times, but it couldn't stop the four men. Officials and crew members scampered to the ring and were trying to seperate them all as Smackdown! went off the air.

Winner: John Cena

Match Reaction = 79.5%

Match Quality = 75.4%

Overall Rating = 83.8%

Nice! Despite Jindrak not improving in the WWE I've always loved O'Haire/Jindrak as a team. I'm glad you brought them back into the WWE.

I'm wondering what your doing with Christian. He went from challenging Cena for the belt to beating London & Haas. Hopefully he doesn't end in midcard hell.

Once again Skipper wins (Great) also I'm glad you didn't give him a singles match with "The Juice". The 6 man is a great way to book the match.

Christian Misses Out On SummerSlam

August 12th, 2005

Many wrestling fans have applauded WWE for their recent use of Christian. Before he wasn't receiving a big enough push according to a lot of people. With Christian's sudden elevation up to the main event scene to battle for the WWE Championship at The Great American Bash came a big round of applause from fans who have wanted to see Christian in the main event for a long time. Since his match against John Cena at the pay-per-view, though, things seem to have come to a halt for 'Captain Charisma'. Since the Bash Christian has lost to Rey Mysterio, beaten Paul London and, more recently, Charlie Haas. Is this all the WWE has now for Christian, a midcard position? It's seeming more and more unlikely that he will feature at SummerSlam this month. Was The Great American Bash it for Christian? Was that his fifteen minutes of fame? A lot of fans hope not as they're already calling for him to be promoted back into the main event. It looks like the WWE do not have any major plans for him just yet, but we hope they will soon. Christian is a main event guy, now all the WWE needs to do is realise that.

Nice show. I liked the main event and how it was played out, especially the fact that Angle didn't lose cleanly maybe he could be back at a later stage for another challenge, the brawl at the end was a nice way to finish.

6 Pack Cruiserwieght title match at Summerslam, nice one.

Christian is doing ok at the minute and although he isn't facing the absoloute cream of the bunch, he's faced two solid opponents who have the capabiluty to put on good matches and he's won both, watch his space.

MNM vs Thrillers = good.

Same here! :D

If you don't mind me saying - Awesome/Masters on Heat was a bit suspect. Hasn't Awesome been booked as a big man who destroys everything in his path and now he's winning by DQ as if he's a face?

Awesome is a face. That's why he's been against people like Masters, La Resistance.

WWE RAW Preview

August 15th, 2005

Last week's RAW saw Batista get jumped by Carlito and then Edge in Carlito's Cabana. This Monday, just six days before SummerSlam, Batista will face Carlito in a singles match. Will Batista gain momentum as he approaches SummerSlam, or will Carlito give Edge an advantage this Sunday?

In last Monday's main event, Randy Orton defeated Chris Benoit when Muhammad Hassan attacked The Crippler. Orton was sent running after the match, though, as the eerie gongs of The Undertaker sounded around the arena. The Deadman did not show, but will he this week? Orton will be in attendance as he's requested some interview time.

Muhammad Hassan will see action this Monday on RAW when he takes on Val Venis. You can bet that Chris Benoit will be watching this one closely as he takes on Hassan at SummerSlam.

Last week we were promised that Trish Stratus will be returning this Monday night! We also learned that she is not recognised as the Women's Champion any more and that GM Eric Bischoff will address the title situation this coming RAW.

Triple H picked up a victory last week as he defeated Booker T in singles action. His opponent for SummerSlam, Shelton Benjamin, also got a win with a victory over Kid Kash. Will The Game and Benjamin clash again on RAW this week, and who will have the most momentum going into Sunday's pay-per-view?

La Resistance's poor form continued last RAW as Robert Conway was defeated by Rob Van Dam. Conway then told Rene Dupree and Sylvain Grenier that he was quitting La Resistance! Dupree and Grenier haven't had much time to think about that much since Eric Bischoff has recently informed them that they will face former World Tag Team Champions The Hurricane and Rosey this week on RAW.

A challenge to The Big Show for a match at SummerSlam was laid out by Chris Jericho last Monday. Big Show accepted, but only after having seemingly destroyed Jericho backstage. Will Jericho be able to make it to SummerSlam? We'll find out on Monday.

You do not want to miss out on WWE RAW this Monday, just six days away from SummerSlam!

Confirmed Matches:

Batista vs. Carlito - Non-Title

Muhammad Hassan w/Daivari vs. Val Venis - Non-Title

The Hurricane & Rosey vs. La Resistance

Segment 1: Now That's Cool

(9 Minutes)

As RAW opened, Jim Ross made his way down to the ring, his hometown fans from Oklahoma cheering wildly for him. The cheers became even louder as Jim Ross introduced the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, 'The Animal', Batista! Batista made his way to the ring to deafening chants of "Batista! Batista!". J.R. asked Batista his thoughts on defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Edge this Sunday. 'The Animal' said he'd had a great title reign since he won the belt at WrestleMania 21, and he had no intentions of it coming to an end this Sunday. Batista said he'd beaten Triple H three times in a row, so going into SummerSlam, he was the definite favourite against Edge. Ross then went on to ask the champion about the match he had tonight, against Carlito. Batista said Carlito made a huge mistake last week when he attacked Batista to help Edge gain a bit of an advantage over him. Tonight, said Batista, Carlito would find out what it's like to step in the ring with a wild animal and he will not like it. Batista predicted that at the end of tonight, Carlito would be down on the mat, looking up at Batista raising the World Heavyweight Title. The champion ended the interview by mimicking Carlito, saying "Now that's cool".

Overall Rating = 77.7%

Segment 2: (Non-Title)

Val Venis vs. Muhammad Hassan w/Daivari

(15 Minutes)

Muhammad Hassan and his manager, Daivari, approached the squared circle first. Venis came down afterwards and the match was underway. Hassan took control of Venis in the first few minutes, tightly applying a headlock and keeping it locked in. Venis battled out, but was taken to the mat by a hard elbow from Hassan. The Intercontinental Champion continued to work over Venis, hitting a vertical suplex for a 2 count. Venis fought back with a sidewalk slam and a couple of clotheslines before hitting his patented knees to the gut after Hassan had just come off of the ropes. Venis slammed Hassan to the mat and climbed to the top rope, looking for the Money Shot but Daivari pulled one of his legs and Venis crumbled onto the turnbuckle. Hassan shoved the referee aside after having distracted him and then sent Venis back to the canvas with a powerful superplex. Venis managed to roll a shoulder out to avoid the 3. Daivari then climbed onto the apron, sliding the Intercontinental Title belt to Hassan. The referee tried to get Daivari off the apron as Hassan picked up the foreign object and waffled Venis with it. Hassan got rid of the belt and then made the cut-throat symbol with his thumb before applying the Camel Clutch to Val. Venis had no choice but to submit, awarding the match to Hassan.

After the match, Hassan put the boots to Venis as Daivari shouted something in Arabic. Chris Benoit then ran down the ramp and slid into the ring. Benoit went toe-to-toe with Hassan as Daivari slipped out of the ring. Benoit trapped his SummerSlam opponent in the Crippler Crossface, but Daivari quickly broke it up as he smashed Hassan's title belt over Benoit's head. Hassan then put the beating on Benoit, wrenching away with the Camel Clutch. Hassan eventually let go of the hold and stood up, raising his arms in the air.

Winner: Muhammad Hassan

Match Reaction = 71.9%

Match Quality = 66.4%

Overall Rating = 72.0%

Segment 3: Women's Title Match At SummerSlam

(2 Minutes)

RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff made his way down to the ring to a mixed reception from the crowd. Bischoff got a microphone and said he was going to address the WWE Women's Title situation. He said that Trish Stratus could not defend her championship within thirty days, so she was stripped of the title, as WWE rules state she should be. Bischoff then said that a champion would be crowned at SummerSlam as the belt would be on the line in a four-way women's match. The participants, announced Bischoff, will be Christy Hemme, Victoria, Trish Stratus and Lita.

Overall Rating = 61.8%

Segment 4: Lita Is Not Happy

(5 Minutes)

Lita's music sounded and she made her way down to the ring. She immediately got in Bischoff's face, saying that his announcement was 'a bunch of crap', arguing that she should just be given the title because she's clearly the best female wrestler in the WWE. As Bischoff was about to respond, Trish Stratus' music hit and the record-setting former Women's Champion quickly walked onto the stage and down the ramp. Her return to RAW was met with big cheers from the crowd. She entered the ring and also grabbed a microphone. Trish told Lita that she was sort of right, but not fully. She said that while she was gone, Lita may indeed have been the best female wrestler in the WWE. Now that Trish is back, however, she clearly isn't - Trish is. Lita wasn't best pleased at Trish's comments and she suddenly tackled Trish to the mat. The two began to roll around on the canvas, trying to slam each other's head into the mat. Bischoff was hesitant to break it up, he stood there for a few moments enjoying the action before calling for the officials to come down and break the catfight up.

Overall Rating = 76.7%

Segment 5: The Hurricane & Rosey vs. La Resistance

(14 Minutes)

Rene Dupree and Sylvain Grenier were understandably off their game here with Rob Conway recently quitting the group. It showed in the early stages, too, as The Hurricane and Rosey were able to isolate Grenier. Rosey got a near fall following a spinebuster. Grenier eventually made the tag to Dupree, who came in and dominated Hurricane after knocking Rosey off of the apron. Dupree landed a big powerslam and a fist drop for a 2 count. Grenier tagged in and La Resistance double-teamed Hurricane with a double backbreaker. Grenier got a 2 from it. It was Hurricane's turn to be isolated as La Resistance used frequent tags and cheating tactics to wear him down. Hurricane desperately tried to make a tag following a hurricanrana on Dupree, but Grenier grabbed his leg. An enziguri released the super hero from the Frenchman's grip and Rosey came into the bout. Rosey cleaned house on the opponents, laying them both out with scoops slams. The Hurricane shortly tagged back in after Rosey had sent Dupree and Grenier to the outside. Rosey then launched Hurricane off of his shoulders and to the outside, onto La Resistance. Grenier took control over Hurricane as the action came back into the ring, Dupree sending Rosey into the steel steps. As La Resistance were getting ready to put Hurricane away, Rob Conway appeared on the stage. He proved a distraction to La Resistance who stood there shouting at him. They turned into a dropkick from Hurricane, a leg for each. Dupree tumbled out of the ring and Grenier fell victim to The Eye Of The Hurricane! Hurricane got the 1, 2, 3!

Winners: The Hurricane & Rosey

The Smackdown! Rebound highlighted the main event from last Thursday as John Cena battled Kurt Angle. HBK's interference was shown a few times as was the F-U that got Cena the win. The recap ended with Cena, Eddie Guerrero, Angle and Shawn Michaels all brawling in the ring.

Segment 7: A New Era Begins At SummerSlam

(4 Minutes)

We went backstage to see Maria who was standing by with Edge. She asked Edge if he's been preparing for his match against Batista at SummerSlam. Edge told Maria she was stupid and that of course he had been preparing. Although, he'd been preparing for the beginning of a new era, and that's what everybody else should do too. Why? Edge said that the era of Batista was coming to an end very quickly, and the era of Edge would begin on Sunday.

Segment 8: Calling Out The Phenom

(5 Minutes)

Randy Orton's music blared through the arena and the 'Legend Killer' came out to a round of boos from the crowd. Orton took a microphone and said that last week he fooled us into thinking he was actually scared of The Undertaker. He was going to prove he wasn't afraid by calling out The Undertaker... right now. Albeit with a shaky voice, Orton called out the 'Phenom'. After moments of waiting, Eric Bischoff's music hit. Orton looked relieved and asked Bischoff why he was out here. The GM said that The Undertaker would not be responding to Orton's challenge, because he was still suspended. Orton smiled. Bischoff said Orton would not be going face-to-face with The Undertaker tonight, but he does have a match... against the undefeated Mike Awesome!

Segment 9: Mike Awesome vs. Randy Orton

(12 Minutes)

Randy Orton removed his t-shirt as Awesome stepped between the ropes and immediately jumped him, beating him into the corner with kicks. Orton turned around and played to the crowd, but this allowed Awesome into the match as he took down Orton with an inverted atomic drop and then a gorilla press slam. Orton came right back with a thumb to the eye and took control of the match, slamming Awesome into the corner and connecting with some knife-edge chops. An Irish whip was reversed by Awesome and Orton smashed into the turnbuckles and came back straight into a big boot. Awesome set Orton up for the Awesome Bomb, but Orton hit a low blow as the referee was in a position unable to see it. Orton took the momentum and nailed his opponent with a powerslam for a near fall. Orton took the action to the outside and slammed Awesome face-first into the steps and then hit a modified backbreaker. Awesome tried to battle back, but was cut off with an out-of-nowhere RKO! Awesome was down on the outside. Randy slid back into the ring and told the referee to start the count, seemingly happy to have a count-out victory. Awesome had barely moved since the RKO. The referee reached a count of 6 when the arena lights cut out. An eerie blue/purple light flooded the ringside area as two of The Undertaker's gong sound blared around the building. This made Orton scatter out of the ring and into the crowd again. The lights returned to normal and the referee's count reached 10, counting out both Awesome and Orton. Awesome was just getting to his feet on the outside, whereas Orton was in the crowd, eyes wide open with fright.

Segment 10: It's Time To Play The Game

(10 Minutes)

Todd Grisham was standing backstage with Shelton Benjamin. He asked Shelton his thoughts going into this Sunday's pay-per-view, where he would face a ten-time World Heavyweight Champion in Triple H. Benjamin agreed that 'The Game' is a formidable opponent, but he has already proved he can hang with him by winning the 'Gauntlet To The Game'. Triple H then walked into the picture, a nasty look on his face as he stared at Shelton. He said that Shelton has no idea what it will be like to face him at SummerSlam. In the 'Gauntlet To The Game', said Triple H, Shelton beat three people of 'The Game's' choosing, but those three people were nowhere near as good as Triple H on a bad day. Triple H said that at SummerSlam, Ric Flair would be returning to be in his corner, not that he needs him, but that's another factor to add to the long list of why Triple H would be victorious. At SummerSlam, for Shelton, it will be 'time to play The Game' and Triple H predicted that he would lose. Before Shelton could respond, Triple H took a cheap shot at him. Shelton was punched into the ground until Triple H was satisfied. Grisham went to see how Shelton was as 'The Game' grinned and walked off.

Overall Rating = 80.2%

Segment 11: Jericho Will Not Make SummerSlam

(7 Minutes)

The Big Show's music hit and the seven-foot giant made his way to the ring with a big grin on his face. Show snatched a microphone from Lilian Garcia and then entered the ring. Big Show said that last week he accepted Chris Jericho's challenge, but he wasn't going to wait until SummerSlam. He proceeded to call Jericho out. 'Y2J' didn't appear and Big Show laughed. He 'just then' remembered what he did to Chris Jericho last week and he showed the footage on the screen. When it had finished Big Show told us that Jericho was currently in a hospital bed and would not be able to make it to SummerSlam, so unfortunately their match wasn't going to happen. Show advised Jericho not to return to RAW, saying he would be better off going to Smackdown!, or just retiring from the business because if he did come back, Big Show would just do the same thing over and over again until Jericho got the message. The crowd jeered as Big Show walked back up the ramp.

Overall Rating = 63.8%

Segment 12: SummerSlam Matches

(5 Minutes)

We went to Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler at the commentary table and they went through RAW's matches booked for SummerSlam, discussing them briefly. They then switched to WWE studios where Michael Cole and Tazz ran through the Smackdown! side of things to come at SummerSlam.

Overall Rating = 77.2%

Segment 13: Main Event (Non-Title)

Batista vs. Carlito

(17 Minutes)

As expected, Batista dominated this non-title match to begin with, drilling his smaller opponent with some hard right hands and a sidewalk slam. The champion put the hurt on Carlito as he stomped him into the corner and tossed him out of it. Carlito then slid under the bottom rope and started to retreat up the ramp. Batista followed and brought Carlito back to ringside, slamming him onto the steel steps. Carlito came back with a rake to the eyes and then sent Batista shoulder-first into the steps before momentarily entering the ring to break the referee's count. Carlito then shoved the champion face-first into the ring post and tossed him back into the ring, getting a 2 count. Carlito continued to work over his opponent with some knife-edge chops and kicks in the corner. Batista battled back with some right hands, but was cut off as Carlito dodge an attack which sent the champion shoulder-first into the ring post. Carlito hit a back suplex for 2. Carlito then climbed to the top rope, but he was stopped as Batista recuperated quickly and threw him from the top. Carlito got up and charged, but was taken to the mat by a clothesline, and then another. Batista was regaining the momentum with some powerful slams as Edge walked down the ramp. Edge grinned as Batista yelled at him, the referee trying to stop the champ from leaving the ring. Moments later, Carlito dropkicked Batista and he went crashing into the referee. Batista hit Carlito with a devastating spinebuster and had the 3, but there was no referee. Edge then slid into the ring with Batista's World Heavyweight Title belt. He swung, but Batista ducked and took him out with a spinebuster. The champion then set Edge up for the Batista Bomb, but had to abort it as Carlito swung the title belt at him. Again, The Animal was able to duck. Carlito came straight back with another shot, but Batista ducked yet again and Carlito laid out Edge by mistake! Edge rolled to the outside as Carlito fell victim to the Batista Bomb! The referee groggily crawled towards the pin and counted - 1, 2, 3.

After the match, Batista stood in the ring, one foot on the fallen Carlito and the World Heavyweight Title raised high in the air as Edge looked on with great frustration.

Winner: Batista

I stumbled on to this diary today and man I have to say I am loving what you are doing. Only if WWE had a mind for this. There are only a few things that have ruffled my feathers. One being Christian losing clean to John Cena. Now Eddie vs. Cena would be great but I would have loved seeing The Captain win by his cheating and only to have GM Long restart the match then and there only having Cena hitting the FU and walking out champ and then have Christian bitch and moan the next week on Smackdown until he recieved a rematch @ Summerslam. Also having him job to Rey on Velocity was a huge dud. Two, why did you kill the fued between Masters and Dreamer, I was actually enjoying that. Now you have Masters jobbing, which is horrible for a up and comer. Would have been nice to see Masters destroy the "Innovator of Violence" @ Vengeance. Three you have Hardcore Holly as your 2nd draft pick on Raw, have Triple H destroy him, then have him beat Flair on heat CLEANLY...talk about staining Flair's career. But your right I do see Holly being World Heavyweight Champion, only if you made him heel and changed his name to Robert Holly (Robert aka Bob). Four, you build up Super Crazy with his amazing trifecta moonsaults and have him win the Cruiser Weight turney, then make it a triple threat at GAB. Though, I did enjoy seeing The Juice win and I love what your doing with him. Five, it seems to me that you actually copied the WWE's decision to move RVD and Show to RAW...I like the fueds your giving them, but just found that a bit odd. Other than all that I have extremly enjoyed what you are doing with your version of the WWE since the draft. I like the idea of bringing in Skipper, and putting Heidenreich and Eugene together but I dunno bout Awesome though, he's past his time I believe...I would have given a well need 100th push to Hardcore Holly. Can't wait for SD and Summerslam...I pray you don't burn out on this because this f'n rocks...also your images add to the whole shabang!

 P.S. sorry about the long post, and if anyone disaggrees with me but opinions are like assholes, everyone has one

If you'd have read the time and date of the post, you'll have realised I did that a couple of days before they did in real life. I didn't know they were going to RAW, it was my decision. It was a coincidence. Not in any way did I copy real life WWE's decision on that.

WWE Smackdown! Preview

August 18th, 2005

In last week's Smackdown! main event, the WWE Champion John Cena defeated Kurt Angle, as Shawn Michaels ran in and hit Angle with the Sweet Chin Music. Eddie Guerrero also made an appearance and the show ended with all four men brawling in the ring. This Thursday, just three days away from SummerSlam, Eddie Guerrero battles Nunzio in a singles match. John Cena will certainly keep his eye on this one, as he faces Eddie Guerrero with the WWE Championship on the line this Sunday.

Kurt Angle accepted Shawn Michaels' challenge of a third and final encounter at SummerSlam last week. Both will be in attendance this Thursday but will they be able to wait for their match at SummerSlam? It could break down into another brutal brawl. We'll see what happens on Smackdown!.

Another attack took place last week when The Bashams were beaten up, but we didn't see it happen. Following all three members of his Cabinet's attacks, JBL feels that the unknown attacker must be after him. JBL will reluctantly be in attendance on Thursday and will address the situation.

Christian faced Charlie Haas in a singles match last week, cheating his way to a win. Charlie Haas has demanded a rematch and Theodore Long has booked it. Haas will meet Christian again this Thursday.

A new challenge to MNM's WWE Tag Team Championship surfaced last week as the Natural Born Thrillers re-formed. Jindrak and O'Haire will have a shot for the gold at SummerSlam, but this Thursday they'll have their first match, against the Cruiserweight tandem of Billy Kidman and Psychosis.

Last Thursday, Smackdown! General Manager Theodore Long made a match for the Cruiserweight Championship at SummerSlam. Juventud will defend his title in a six-man invitational, with his opponents being 'Primetime' Elix Skipper, Chavo Guerrero, Paul London, Tajiri and Super Crazy. Juventud has been given some time to speak about the match on Smackdown!.

Don't miss Smackdown! this Thursday night, just three days away from SummerSlam!

Confirmed Matches:

Nunzio vs. Eddie Guerrero

Charlie Haas vs. Christian

Natural Born Thrillers vs. Billy Kidman & Psychosis

Still enjoying this diary very much, but realized something in the last few days. Something I don't understand is why you bother to make it "Non-Title" when the champion is going to win anyway. Usually they make it non title if the challenger is going to win, and title if the champion is going to win. Creates excitement. Just my opinion.

In a title match between the champion and someone who isn't going to pose a real threat to the title (ie. Batista versus Carlito), it's obvious the champion is going to win. In a non-title match, it could go either way (see; John Cena versus Carlito in real life WWE). I make them non-title matches because I feel they're not as predictable as title matches.
