In the movie, he was the manager of England. The Wirral thing all started at the beginning of the TV series I think.

Yeah, he'd managed to destroy the England team and had just been let go from the equivelant of a Spanish conference side when his dad's old club came back in for him.

It was a good series and I'd like to see a second one but only if it's able to keep a good feel to it rather then, "the first series was popular, the movie was popular, lets make a new one!" since that's why the movie industry and tv industry are full of so much shit right now.
