Steve Davis rolls back the years

So, my childhood snooker 'hero' Steve Davis is winning 3-0 in the quarter finals of the championships at the moment against Ken Doherty.

At the age of 48 the Nugget defeated last year's champion 9-8 after coming back from 6-8 and getting a 145 break in the final frame - his biggest break in 19 years!

Hopefully Davis can get at least into the semis.

He's in an unlucky this year. In the top 16 but still has to go through the qualifiers for every tournament. But good to see him doing well.....

I'm a big snooker fan myself. Watched the game last night, absolutly fantastic stuff from Steve. Maguire played the wrong red though, he took the one closest to the cushion for position on the blue.

But yeah, he's playing very well, I'd love to see him win it.

The other semi is for the young plebs.

As much as I'd like to see Davis win, I don't think he has it in him to beat Hendry.

Well Davis is winning 7-1 in the semis against Hendry last I heard! He must be in the form of his life! I MUST book myself some time to watch the final!

Holy shit...I haven't been watching much tv over the last week or so, now I wish I had. Davis has always been my favourite snooker player, and it sucks that I missed seeing him thrash Hendry (the guy I hate the most). I'm going to make it my mission to watch the final, and hopefully see Steve win it...because if anyone deserves one more title it's him.

Phew 9-6 in the end. Hendry started playing well but Steve held it together to stagger over the line....And into the final he goes!

Shaun Murphy is my snooker idol.

I went to see some qualifiers like, 3 years ago when he was a nobody. Really nice bloke. Went on to win the world championship. Amazing.
