The show for June 4 will be taped June 1 and we will have three big matches lined up. Here is our lineup.

Trent Acid vs. B-Boy

Acid makes his in-ring debut as he takes on B-Boy in what should be a brutally stiff match as these guys are both stiff wrestlers. Acid looks to prove himself in his first match and B-Boy wants to show why he is the enforcer of Prime Time.

Puma vs. Johnny Kashmere

Another battle between the Backseat Boyz and Prime Time. This one could be a preview of an eventual tag team title shot for the Backseat Boyz against the Havana Pitbulls in the future.

Brandon Thomaselli vs. Jerelle Clark

Two young, junior-heavyweights look to make an impression on the fans as they open up our first ever television broadcast and it should be an exciting one.

Patterson: “Whitmer has two victories in the round robin tournament and Estrada has been eliminated from competition in the tournament.”

Guppie: “The action keeps on coming. After the commercial break Michael Shane takes on Trent Acid one-on-one.”

Patterson: “That should be a good match. Shane has had lots of trouble in the ring lately since he was evicted from Prime Time and Acid has been on a roll so far in the SMWA.”

Segment 2: The Real Prime Time

Michael Shane walks out from backstage to a mixed reaction but mostly boos. He walks past the fans disdainfully then slides into the ring and takes the mic from the announcer.

Shane: “Elix Skipper stole away my hard work. I established Prime Time as a dominant faction and under my lead Prime Time dominated the tag team scene. Then I look to power Prime Time up and I bring in Elix Skipper. Skipper gets his first win thanks to Prime Time’s help and he never did anything for Prime Time. We get an eight man tag with him in there and we lose and then he blames me and takes Prime Time as his own. Petey Williams leaves the group, Conrad Kennedy is injured and B-Boy turned on me. Then, Elix picks up the tag team champions and adds them to the group. He brings in champions instead of making them himself! Skipper, I am going to get you for what you did to me and how you destroyed Prime Time. Sooner or later we will meet in the ring and I’m going to show the fans that you are the weak link and Prime Time lost because of you not me.”

Patterson: “Acid just put it all on the line in the match and just went right after Shane. Trent Acid is really showing a lot and this weekend at Showdown he and Johnny Kashmere take on BJ Whitmer and his partner Danny Maff in a hardcore match and that match should be a brutal affair.”

Guppie: “After the commercial break it’s time for our main event as Petey Williams and a partner of his choosing take on B-Boy and Elix Skipper.”

Patterson: “This could be a good match depending on who Williams gets as a partner. There are a lot of people who have grudges against Prime Time.”

Segment 4: The Ex-Man Cometh

Petey Williams walks out from backstage and goes down to the ring to cheers from the crowd. He slides into the ring and takes the mic from the announcer.

Williams: “Tonight I get a shot at revenge. Tonight I take on B-Boy and Elix Skipper with a tag team partner of my choosing. I’ve heard lots of rumblings about who people thought I was going to choose. A lot of people were saying it would be Jimmy Rave or Chad Collyer, guys who have a problem with Prime Time. And while I would love to team with either of those guys they have a problem with me because I was in Prime Time. Tonight, I have a partner that nobody saw coming. Tonight my mystery partner is a star in the Southern California wrestling scene. That man is Excalibur!”

Excalibur comes out from backstage to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Excalibur slides into the ring and takes the mic from Williams.

Excalibur: “Come on, make some noise! I may not be the huge star that you were hoping for but tonight I’m reforming my ways. I’ve cheated in the past but like Petey here I’m going to be the good guy now. Petey needed some help and I offered to team with him and he accepted. Tonight B-Boy and Skipper are in for a beating. They may have more experience as a team but Petey and I are fighting the good fight and just like in the movies the good guys always win.”

OA: 67

Guppie: “Excalibur is an interesting choice but his style should blend well with Williams’.”

Patterson: “Excalibur also knows B-Boy’s style really well since they are both from the West Coast wrestling scene and worked a lot of shows together. I think Williams has made a good choice for a partner and they have a good chance of winning tonight.”

Segment 5: Excalibur & Petey Williams vs. B-Boy & Elix Skipper

Williams and B-Boy start the match and they circle each other and then B-Boy tags out to Skipper. Skipper comes into the ring and locks up with Williams. The two men struggle against each other and Williams takes Skipper over with an armdrag. Showdown Card

www.smwawrestling.com

June 11, 2008

June 15 in the SMWA Gym in Detroit SMWA Showdown takes place. This is a show with some huge feuds taking place and it’s going to be a violent show.

Halo ©vs. Ace Steel (SMWA Championship)

Halo makes a title defense against Ace Steel who has been on a roll lately in SMWA action. He’s had a few shows off but Steel is back with a vengeance and he wants to leave with Gold around his waist. Halo is determined to keep the belt around his waist however and this is going to be a heated match.

Michael Shane vs. Elix Skipper

Shane gets his shot against the man who stole Prime Time from him. Skipper gets the chance to prove that he deserves to be the leader of Prime Time.

Backseat Boyz vs. BJ Whitmer & Dan Maff (No Holds Barred)

Trent Acid made his debut saving tag team partner Johnny Kashmere from BJ Whitmer’s assault and now they face off in tag team action and BJ Whitmer has brought in Dan Maff to be his partner. The Backseat Boyz have a reputation of being hardcore from their work in CZW but Maff and Whitmer are hard hitters and they have been in some brutally hardcore matches. Blood will be spilled and bodies may be broken.

Petey Williams vs. B-Boy

Former tag team partners collide in this match. These two men broke up violently and Williams looks to get some more revenge than what he got on Rage earlier today when he beat the team of Skipper and B-Boy. B-Boy isn’t one to just lay down and lose though. He’s a hard hitter and he’s going to go right up against Williams.

Chad Collyer vs. Ricky Reyes

One-half of the tag team champions Reyes looks to prove his singles wrestling chops against Chad Collyer in what should be a display of great wrestling.

Joey Ryan vs. Jorge Estrada (Block 2)

Ryan and Estrada face off in tournament action for the Premier Title. Estrada has been eliminated from competition but he can stop Ryan from getting a shot at the Gold with a victory here.

Come down to the SMWA Gym and see the show. Tickets are just $15 or $20 for ringside seats.

Patterson: “That’s right. We are going to have an action packed show for you. With a huge main event as Halo defends the SMWA Championship against Ace Steel.”

Guppie: “But before we get to that we have Joey Ryan facing off against Jorge Estrada in Block B of the Premier Round Robin Title tournament. Jorge Estrada has already been eliminated from contention but Ryan needs to win to get a shot at the belt.”

Patterson: “This can go either way and Ryan better be on the top of his game if he wants to get a victory and get a shot at the Premier Title. Estrada had two hard losses but that doesn’t mean he can’t hang with the SMWA talent.”

Next B-Boy is going to show everybody that he was the man that carried the tag team not Petey Williams. Petey you left Prime Time but you never fit in anyways. You were too worried about the fans and breaking the rules and you got what you had coming to you when we beat the shit out of you and left you laying in the ring. Tonight B-Boy is going to leave you a bloody mess in this ring. He is going to show you why he is called the new age punisher.

“Then later tonight I get to take on Michael Shane. The man I kicked out of Prime Time and took the number one spot from. Mike you never deserved to lead these men. You kept picking up trash and adding it to the group. Adam Pearce, Conrad Kennedy III, who are they? Why would you even want them on your team. Now we’ve taken out the crap. It’s four men who know how to get things down in the ring. The tag team champions Ricky Reyes and Puma, The new age punisher, B-Boy, and of course, Prime Time Elix Skipper. You have been running your mouth about how you are better than me Mike. Tonight it’s time to put up or shut up and I know that you are going to be the one to shut up. Now hit Petey’s music, it’s time for him to lose.”

Patterson: “He may not like it but the Backseat Boyz got the win in their first tag team match here in the SMWA in impressive fashion.”

Shane: “I know you fans don’t like me, so just shut up so I can say what I have to say. Elix Skipper tonight I get my payback. You stole Prime Time from me. You stole it like a common criminal. After I lost a match you just take B-Boy and walk off. Then Conrad gets hurt and I don’t have anybody backing me up. You take the name of the group because it’s your nickname but Prime Time is the name of my group not yours. I made Prime Time. I made Prime Time champions. You didn’t make champions you took them. I assembled a tag team of Adam Pearce and Conrad and when Pearce failed he was kicked out of the group and I took his place. I brought in Petey Williams and B-Boy to strengthen the group. Then I brought you in and it has cost me everything. I thought you would be an asset but you have been a liability. In your first match Conrad had to interfere to get you the win. Then Prime Time wins an eight-man tag without your help. Three months later we have an eight-man tag with you on our team and we lost. You can label me the weak link if you want but you are the one who has fallen down. You are the one who has been inadequate. You don’t own the name Prime Time and you never will. I don’t care what you say, the announcers say or the fans say. Your group is not Prime Time. My group is Prime Time and I will reform it and bring it back to the forefront of the SMWA! Tonight I am going to put you down for the three count and prove that I am Prime Time and I am what made Prime Time so dominant!”

Skipper showed me that I’ve been slacking off. I’ve been relying too much on having a group of guys helping me out when I wrestle. I’ve got to win on my own and I can do it. I’m Shawn Michaels’ cousin. I was trained by some of the best in the business. Johnny Spade you are going down tonight. I am back in top form and tonight Spade is going to get a taste of just what Michael Shane can do.”

Guppie: “We’re back from commercial break and what a match we just saw. Johnny Spade was firing on all cylinders and he defeated Michael Shane with an amazing corkscrew moonsault.”

Patterson: “Spade stayed strong throughout the match and chose his spots. Shane seemed too determined to win quickly and Spade managed to capitalize on that to win.”

Guppie: “That means it’s main event time and we have former SMWA Champion Jimmy Rave taking on Elix Skipper in what should be a great match.”

Patterson: “These are two of the top contenders here in the SMWA and either one of these men could earn a shot at the champ with a victory.”

Segment 4: The Main Event

Jimmy Rave comes out from the back and gets cheered by the crowd. He walks around the ring giving the fans fives before he rolls into the ring and takes the mic from the announcer.

Rave: “It’s good to be back in front of all you SMWA fans again. It’s been a while since I’ve been here and I’m glad I’m back. Tonight I get a challenge in the main event when I take on Elix Skipper. I’ve had my battles with Prime Time and I’ve come out on top more often than not. Skipper you are a world class athlete, there is no doubt about that but tonight that’s not going to matter. Tonight you are going up against a great wrestler. You may be bigger and possibly faster but I’m smarter. I’m a better wrestler than you. Plus I have all these great fans cheering me on and with their support there is no way I am going to lose here tonight.”

Background

The SMWA Title

Jimmy Rave had a nearly five month long reign as champ before losing the belt to Halo. Halo has held the belt for just as long and has been nearly as dominant as champion. Continuing the tradition of 2/3 falls title matches on the Anniversary show Halo has granted Jimmy Rave a rematch for the SMWA Championship in what should be a great match.

Prime Time

Created by Michael Shane it originally consisted of Tag Team Champions Adam Pearce and Conrad Kennedy III along with B-Boy. Petey Williams was brought in to replace Adam Pearce after he refused to give Michael Shane the Tag Team Belt when he returned from injury. Shane and Kennedy held the Tag Team Titles for some time. Then Michael Shane brought in Elix Skipper as the fifth member of Prime Time. At the final show of 2007 Prime Time defeated the team of Jimmy Rave, Johnny Spade, Jimmy Jacobs and Sedrick Strong. Prime Time then suffered as the members were often booked separately from each other. Michael Shane returned near the Fourth Anniversary show and kicked things back up as they would have a rematch from the final 2007 show. Before getting to that point though Petey Williams rebelled and was kicked out of Prime Time. The eight man tag at the Fourth Anniversary Show would be Michael Shane, Elix Skipper, B-Boy and Conrad Kennedy III vs. Jimmy Rave, Johnny Spade, Chad Collyer & Sedrick Strong. On the second night Michael Shane faces Sedrick Strong in a loser leaves match, Chad Collyer takes on Elix Skipper in a grudge match and B-Boy faces off against Petey Williams.

Halo & Johnny Spade

These former tag team partners have not become blood enemies but they have had some great contests against each other. Halo has managed to come out on the winning end more often but it has not been often and Spade can keep up with Halo and always makes it a close contest.

Ace Steel, Mark Briscoe & Jay Briscoe

A tag team triangle as Mark Briscoe was torn between teaming with Ace Steel and his brother who just returned from injury. Mark chose teaming with Jay and engaged in a brutal feud with Ace Steel. A brutal feud that leads to the Fourth Anniversary show. Ace Steel is bringing in fellow NOAH competitor and former GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, KENTA. A tag team match on the first night and cage match between Ace and Mark on the second night will hopefully end the feud.

A lot of the past isn’t too important to the future shows as many of the former big stars have been stolen away and there aren’t too many long going feuds right now. Prime Time is the biggest ongoing story and will probably continue to be for some time. It doesn’t seem like much but it will update you on the big happenings and most of the smaller stuff is fairly new to the SMWA and growing. I hope this helps the new readers.

You fans came here to pay for some action and tonight that’s what I’m going to give you fans. Tonight you saw Azrael beat Brandon Thomaselli and he is going to the finals of the Premier Title Tournament as well. OA: 55 CR: 31 MQ: 79

Guppie: “What a display by both men. Whitmer pulled out his best high impact moves but Hart showed his resilience and got back up and kept on coming.”

Patterson: “Whitmer seemed to write hart off as a challenge and that let Hart capitalize with his high flying moves and got a big victory. If Hart can win his next match he will go on to win Block B. If he loses he will face off with Whitmer again in a playoff match to go to the finals.”

Guppie: “I would love to see a rematch between these two men. Folks we have a huge main event coming up for you next. The Havana Pitbulls defend the SMWA Tag Team Championship belts against the Backseat Boyz and that match is coming up after the commercial break.”

Segment 4: Backseats Back

The Backseat Boyz burst out from the back with an energy that is immediately transferred to the crowd who cheer them. Acid and Kashmere go around the ring flirting with the female fans in attendance before they slide into the ring. Acid goes to the announcer and takes the mic.

Acid: “There are a bunch of tag teams in the back saying that we don’t deserve this title shot. They say that we haven’t gotten wins as a team here and haven’t proven our worth. They forget that the Backseat Boyz were once the best tag team in the world. We may only have one tag team victory here in the SMWA but you don’t just lose your skill as a team overnight. Johnny and I are friends and we know what the other is going to do before they do it. We just function well together and tonight the Havana Pitbulls are going to get a lesson in tag team wrestling the way it is meant to be. They have been strong champions there is no denying that but everything comes to an end and their reign will come to an end here tonight. The Backseat Boyz are back in action and we are going to get gold around our waists right now!”

Acid’s statement is backed up by the cheers of the crowd which turn to boos as the Pitbulls walk out from the back and come down to the ring.

OA: 74

Guppie: “Acid seems confident that he and Kashmere will be able to shake off any ring rust as a team right away. They do hold an impressive victory over BJ Whitmer and Dan Maff in a hardcore match but the Pitbulls have held off some tough challengers.”

Patterson: “But this could be their toughest challenge. Acid was not exaggerating when he said the Backseat Boyz were one of the best tag teams in the world and they are getting a chance to prove that they are still one of the best but the Pitbulls aren’t just going to roll over and die either.”

Segment 5: Havana Pitbulls ©vs. Backseat Boyz (SMWA Tag Team Championship)

Reyes pulls Kashmere up to his feet and rearranges his face with a brutal slap that spins Kashmere around. Reyes grabs Kashmere from behind and takes him over with a tiger suplex and bridges for a two count. Kashmere slowly gets up to his feet and Reyes nails him with a couple of kicks to his midsection. Patterson: “Thomaselli took quite a beating to his back but he wouldn’t give up and almost got a win but Cannon outsmarted him and got the three count.”

Segment 4: The New Boyz in Town

As the show comes back from commercial Joel Gertner is standing in the middle of the ring with the mic.

Gertner: “Ladies hold your applause. Yes it is I, the quintessential stud-muffin, Joel Gertner. I am here for one reason and one reason only. No, it isn’t to steal Alicia Webb from Teddy Hart, although she’s one fine looking, nevermind. I’m here to bring some underappreciated talent the spot they deserve in this promotion and take some of the greats to the top. Let me introduce you to the four men that I am going to help dominate the SMWA. First let me introduce the best up-and-comer in the SMWA right now. A brother to a former SMWA Champion here comes Brandon Thomaselli!”

Brandon Thomaselli comes out from the back and slides into the ring and shakes Gertner’s hand.

Gertner: “That’s right. Brandon here is going to be the newest superstar in the SMWA and he’s going to be a champion here. Our next member is a man who has been close to being a champion. He’s had many opportunities for the title but he’s never been the man here in the SMWA. He’s had some shots at the SMWA Title recently but that’s about the only matches he’s been getting. He’s a former tag team partner of the champion it’s Johnny Spade!”

Spade comes out from backstage to a good reaction. He climbs onto the apron then leaps over the top rope into the ring.

Gertner: “This is a man who has been with this company since it started and now that he truly has star potential he is only pulled out every once in a while for a title shot with the easy sell of former tag team partners facing off. This man doesn’t get other matches to showcase what he can do. That being said I have secured a title shot for Johnny Spade next week against Halo or Jimmy Rave whoever comes out on top at Brutality Defined. This isn’t because Johnny is a former champion this is because he is a great competitor and you will be seeing more of Spade in the SMWA that I guarantee you. Now we come to our last two members. These two are a tag team and they are guys who embody many of the same, great qualities that I do. They are stars with the ladies and magicians in the ring. They are competing for a shot at the Tag Titles tonight they are the Backseat Boyz!”

The Backseat Boyz come out to loud cheers from the crowd and they circle the ring giving the fans fives and then both men slide into the ring and shake hands with Gertner.

Gertner: “I know what many of you are thinking. Sure the Backseat Boyz don’t need a manager but they want one and they wanted one as cool as Joel Gertner. Tonight the Backseat Boyz are going to claim a shot at the tag titles. They are going to show KENTA and Marafuji that NOAH is not the end all of professional wrestling. Tonight they are going to earn a shot at the tag team titles and at Brutality Defined, this Saturday, they are going to show the Havana Pitbulls what’s up and claim the belts for their own. Brandon and Johnny, you two head to the back. We aren’t like the other stables here. We don’t cheat to win and everybody wins on their own accolades. You fans know these guys and you know they don’t need any cheating to get wins.”

Gertner hands the mic back to the announcer to cheers from the crowd then exits the ring and stands ringside as the show goes to commercial.

OA: 74

Guppie: “Joel Gertner has shown up and looks to make an impact here by grouping up four great wrestlers.”

Patterson: “Gertner has a big mouth but I don’t know he’ll do as an actual manager. Luckily all four of those guys are great on their own and don’t really need the help that much.”

Brutality Defined Card

www.smwawrestling.com

July 17, 2008

We are just two days away from Brutality Defined and we have an amazing show lined up for Kalamazoo. Here is the full card.

Halo ©vs. Jimmy Rave (SMWA Championship)

Halo defends the belt against the man he won it from. Jimmy Rave has earned this shot with a victory over Ace Steel and Halo will once again face a tough challenge to hold onto the belt.

Samoa Joe vs. Low Ki

Two of the hardest hitting men on the American wrestling scene face off in our co-main event of the night. Bodies will be bruised in this match.

Havana Pitbulls ©vs. Backseat Boyz (SWMA Tag Team Championship)

The Backseat Boyz make another bid to win the belts from the Havana Pitbulls but will they be able to overcome the brutal offense of the pitbulls?

Petey Williams vs. B-Boy (Street Fight)

These two former partners have clashed in normal matches but this time they meet where everything is legal. B-Boy won’t have help in this match as Skipper is competing in Japan and the Pitbulls have to be ready to defend their titles. There is a level playing field and these men won’t be contained.

Teddy Hart vs. Scott Lost (SMWA Premier Title)

These two men earned their shot at the title by competing in a round robin tournament. Hart went 3-0 in the tournament while Lost went 2-1 and then won a sudden death match against Azriel to get into this match. Only one of these guys can walk away with the belt.

KENTA & Marafuji vs. The SAT

The former GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions take on the SAT in what should be a high-flying encounter between these two teams.

The card is set and the competitors are ready. Saturday the action will go down in Kalamazoo and you can be there for just $15 or $20 for ringside tickets. Come out and support the SMWA.
