Blues Rock?

I'm looking for some bands that have a blues feel to them, but are also good at creating rocking tunes, if you get what i mean... ok i suck at explaining but i cannot really find many bands that have this special sound to them

But there are only really a few bands that can fit these together:

Guns N' Roses (With Slash - esp some of the slower stuff)

Metallica (Tuesdays Gone/Turn The Page)

Danzig (in some strange way)

and i'm stumped for anything else...

When you search for "blues" and the top search is HIM then you know theres something wrong

Led Zeppelin are the ultimate blues rock band really, but I suspect you've heard their stuff, and if not, you live a very sheltered life.

Free would be blues rock, as would Cream.

Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band come readily to mind when I think blues rock, as do The Soft Boys, Billy Childish and Holly Golightly. That's the bluesier side of things.

From what it would appear you're after, though, I'll suggest The Dogs D'Amour. They're hugely under-rated, in my opinion, and do a great job of mixing blues with 80s style glam metal. Like Poison, but with less rose and more thorn.

Perhaps George Thorogood and the Destroyers would be up your alley for this sort of situation.

I always liked the classic blues guitar players like Lightnin Hopkins, T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, and Robert Johnson as well. They might not be "rocking" but they are certainly great for blues purists.

early Black Sabbath has a blues-ish feel to it, so that's another band to add to the list.
