Five days ago, Chris Benoit managed to retain the World Heavyweight Championship in his match against Batista. However, it was not retained fairly. General Manager Teddy Long is said to have an announcement planned for Smackdown this week. What could it be? Also, Mr. Kennedy pinned former World Heavyweight Champion, Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam. However, according to Mr. Kennedy, he is not yet finished with Mysterio. These two will come face to face this week on Smackdown in the main event!

A tag team rematch is set to take place this week. MNM will once again be putting their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line against the Second City Saints. Can the New Blood get the job done this time? Speaking of the New Blood, Samoa Joe will be teaming with Burchill this week to take on Booker T and Finlay. Meanwhile, Christopher Daniels will be defending his Cruiserweight Championship once again, this time in a Triple Threat Match against Daivari and Super Crazy!

At SummerSlam, we saw Lashley finally defeat JBL to capture the United States Championship. What is in store for the new champion this week? And, what is in store for the man defeated?

Don’t miss all of this and much more this week on Friday Night Smackdown at 8/7 CT on UPN.

Live! From Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania

World Wrestling Entertainment Presents: Smackdown on UPN

The show comes onto the air with a video highlighting all of the events that transpired for Smackdown at SummerSlam. The video comes to a close with a shot of Chris Benoit and Ric Flair still holding the World Heavyweight Championship in the air. Following that, the usual Smackdown video package plays, followed by the opening pyro. A few seconds after the pyro, Daivari’s music hits the speakers. He makes his way to the ring, followed by Super Crazy. Once Super Crazy is in the ring, the music of the Cruiserweight Champion, Christopher Daniels’ hits. Daniels makes his way to the ring and the match begins.

Cruiserweight Championship

Super Crazy vs. Daivari vs. Christopher Daniels©

The match goes back and forth, displaying some fantastic, fast paced wrestling. The majority of the match is fought between Super Crazy and Daniels, as Daivari continues to be thrown out of the ring by both men. However, as the match progresses, Daivari finally starts to get in some offense, and Christopher Daniels is tossed to the outside. Daivari and Super Crazy fight it on inside the ring until Crazy slams Daivari down hard near the corner. Crazy climbs to the top and is about to go for the Moonsault when Daniels comes back and crotches him on the top rope. Crazy ends up in the tree of woe in the corner. Daniels hops up to the second rope, springing to the top, and soars off the top with the Best Moonsault Ever, despite Super Crazy hanging from the ropes. He lands it perfectly on Daivari! He goes for the cover. 1... 2... 3!

Winner: And STILL Cruiserweight Champion, Christopher Daniels

COMMERCIAL BREAK

As the show returns from the break, the music of Kid Kash and Jamie Noble - Southern Comfort - hits the speakers. The two emerge from the back, once again clad in the tattered jean shorts and sleeveless flannels (picture Jamie Noble’s attire from his first WWE run), and make their way to the ring. Once in the ring, Jamie Noble is handed a microphone.

Noble: It’s no big secret, that the two of us… we’re the best damn tag team in the WWE! We don’t need to prove it, but we’re going to anyway! And, we’re gonna prove it by becoming the WWE… Tag Team… CHAMPIONS!

Noble hands the microphone to Kash.

Kash: And judging by the Second City Saints’ embarrassing loss at SummerSlam… it looks like we’re gonna be takin’ those titles from MNM! And that’s gonna happen pretty damn soon! We’ve beaten the best this company has to offer! We beat them punks, Paul London and Brian Kendrick last week… and hell, we’re gonna beat ‘em again tonight!

Just then, London and Kendrick slide into the ring behind them and attack them. A few moments later, the referee calls for the bell and the match begins.

They brawl around outside the ring, before being joined by Cabana. Cabana and Punk get in some shots on Mercury while Melina tries to fend them off, but to no avail. As MNM celebrate, the screen goes black and a video package begins to play. Some oriental sounding music plays over the video as silhouette images of a warrior on shown on the screen. The warrior delivers several stiff kicks to random other silhouettes. As the video comes to a close, a profile shot of the warrior is shown, still a silhouette. He has his hands in a prayer position in front of his face. The camera quickly zooms in toward the warrior’s face. Just as it does so, he whips his head toward the camera. The timing allows only for the viewers to catch the warrior’s eyes, dimly lit now, no longer a silhouette. The camera rests on the warrior’s eyes for a few moments before fading out.

Mr. Kennedy vs. Rey Mysterio

The commercial break comes to an end as Mr. Kennedy’s music hits the speakers. He makes his way to the ring and then does his own introduction. However, just as he begins to say the second “Kennedy”, Mysterio’s music hits, cutting him off. Mysterio shoots up out of the stage and makes his way to the ring to a loud ovation. Once in the ring, the match begins. Mysterio gets in some quick offense at the start, mostly evading Kennedy only to hit him with a quick move and then evade again. But hey, if it works, it works. Mysterio’s offense is soon cut down, however, as Kennedy’s size and strength advantage begins to play in his favor. Kennedy controls the match for a few minutes, completely destroying Mysterio. Around the five minute mark or so, Kennedy sends Mysterio into the corner. Kennedy charges at Mysterio, but Rey quickly dives out of the corner and drop toe holds Kennedy, sending him into the second rope near the corner. Mysterio climbs out of the ring and onto the apron. OH! 619 around the ring post! Kennedy stumbles back toward the center of the ring as Mysterio hops back onto the apron, climbing to the top rope. He soars off for his move, only to be caught by Kennedy with a sit-out Powerbomb! Kennedy goes for the cover! 1... 2... NO! MYSTERIO KICKS OUT!

Kennedy pulls Mysterio to his feet and gets in a few shots at him. Mysterio tries to fight back and actually gets in some shots. Mysterio goes to whip Kennedy toward the ropes, but Kennedy reverses. Mysterio comes off the ropes and tries to counter with a Crossbody. No! Kennedy catches him and holds him there for a few moments. Kennedy smiles and then flips Mysterio up on his shoulders. Uh oh. Kennedy heads for the corner and turns his back to the ring post. He slowly climbs up to the second rope, still holding Mysterio on his shoulders. GREEN BAY PLUNGE! Kennedy goes for the cover! 1... 2... 3! Kennedy gets to his feet with an ear to ear grin, but instead of celebrating, he exits the ring and grabs a steel chair! He climbs back into the ring and proceeds to beat the living hell out of Mysterio with the chair!

Winner: Mr. Kennedy

At this point, Kennedy tosses the chair to the mat and jumps on it, evening it out a little bit. He picks Mysterio up and gets him back onto his shoulders. He heads for the corner and climbs up onto the first rope. Oh no. He’s not going for the Green Bay Plunge onto the steel chair is he? Just as he takes his first step up for the second rope…

“WEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! WELL IT’S THE BIG SHOW!”

Kennedy steps down off the ropes as RAW’s Big Show emerges from the back! Big Show makes his way down to the ring, talking trash to Mr. Kennedy. Big Show climbs into the ring and Kennedy lunges at him, throwing punches left and right. They have little effect on the giant. Big Show goozles Kennedy and hoists him up… CHOKESLAM! Smackdown Comments:

Looking forward to Benoit/Batista II in a No DQ/No Countout/Hardcore/Streetfight match.

The team of Burchill/Samoa Joe makes me smile, even if it was just for one time :D

Also, not sure if Joe's even a part of New Blood anymore since he hasn't associated with them in a while.

Big Show destroying Ken Kennedy was cool and I can see it getting a big reaction from the crowd.

RAW Comments:

Carlito going over Rob Conway... Cool.

Kane crushing Goldust, A-OK with me. I love me some Kane.

Wondering where your going with Mick Foley's promo. Maybe an inferno match or some new stipulation to the WWE.

Great to see Nigel McGuinness on the roster, and i'm curious as to how you use him.

As for the Main Event, I can see the crowd popping big time when Triple H makes his entrance as the mystery partner.

Side/Summerslam Comment:

John Cena soaking his wrist tape in ether before applying the STFU on The Rock = brilliance.

Smackdown was good as usual. I am really excited for the huge rematch between Batista and Benoit. That should be a slobberknocker in JR's words. Also, Big Show destroying Kennedy was awesome, but not so cool because it was KENNEDY! A lot of matches on the show, though, but you still made it good.

- CW Title match was good, nice to see your building up the belt.

- I'm thinking we are going to get Southern Comfort/London & Kendrick/New Blood/MNM at No Mercy. This just builds it up more.

- Batista/Benoit II, should be good, but Benoit will retain.

- JBL should've gotten the clean win, but I don't care if Regal is on my television screen.

- Joe/Burchill, that team just makes me laugh.

- Lashley squash was just a squash.

- Interesting to see the new guy, I'm guessing he'll just be a midcarder.

- MNM/SCS was alright, but I just think this builds up to the match I alluded to earlier.

- Show destroying Kennedy was good, just gives Kennedy another feud for a month until 'Taker comes back.

Finally, An Answer

August 28, 2006

Last Monday, Edge was finally going to give an answer to Vince McMahon’s proposition. However, before he could, Rob Van Dam made his presence known, attacking the WWE Champion, and the WWE Chairman! This week, Vince McMahon will be making a huge announcement, assuring an answer from the WWE Champion! What is the big announcement?

Mr. McMahon has also promised a special match this week involving D-Generation X. What could Vince possibly have in store for Triple H and Shawn Michaels? Also, Mick Foley’s words last week have stirred up quite a bit of conversation. What did Foley mean when he said Kane was going to Burn In Hell? Will we find out this week on RAW?

Last week, Carlito finally got the win over Rob Conway, entitling him to a shot at Chris Masters’ Intercontinental Championship. Can Carlito reclaim the gold this week? Plus, Charlie Haas has certainly made an impression since returning to the WWE at SummerSlam, costing Shelton Benjamin his match against Chavo Guerrero, as well as defeating the two of them last week on RAW. This week, Charlie Haas is set to team up with Eugene to take on Shelton Benjamin and the new-comer, Nigel McGuinness!

All this and much more on Monday Night RAW (9/8 CT; USA Network).

For the next few minutes, The Interns make frequent tags, weakening HBK. All the while, Cena refuses to tag into the match. The double teaming continues on HBK for a few more minutes. Triple H occasionally attempts to come in for the save, only to be stopped by the referee, allowing The Interns to continue with cheap shots. The crowd boos.

Foley: Yeah I know. I’m sorry. But I have some more important things to get off my chest… right here… in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!

Haha, Foley lied. Cheap pop.

Foley: Okay, I thought I’d give you at least one. Anyway, onto business. At SummerSlam… Kane, you woke up the demons inside of Mick Foley. Kane, you brought out a pain… a hatred… You brought out a… a FEAR… That I haven’t felt in a long time, Kane. The thing is, that’s good. Kane, I thank you. You see, I thank you, because deep down, I enjoy that pain. Deep down, I long for that pain, Kane. Last week, I made a promise to you. Last week, I promised you that you were going to Burn In Hell… I WASN’T LYING! These people! These SICK… TWISTED… DEMENTED PEOPLE… Want to see fire, Kane. They want to see FIRE at Unforgiven, Kane! These people… they want to see… an Inferno Match!

The crowd erupts into cheers.

Foley: I hate to be one to disappoint, but there will be no Inferno Match at Unforgiven.

The cheering turns into boos.

As Kane laughs, the ring posts explode with flames and the house lights turn to red. Kane continues to laugh as Foley stands in the ring, looking at the burning ring posts.

RVD leaps off, going for his diving kick, but Jericho catches him in mid-air with a drop kick!

COMMERCIAL BREAK

When the show returns from the break, Chris Jericho is gaining some momentum. A few moments later, he sends RVD into the corner, hard. RVD stumbles back out of the corner and Jericho catches him with a bulldog! Jericho sees the opportunity, and goes for the Lionsault! No! RVD gets his knees up! In the next couple of moments, RVD begins to gain some more momentum. In the meantime, as RVD begins to take control of the match, Vince McMahon, The Interns, and Chris Masters all emerge from the back and make their way to ringside. The Corporation stands at ringside, watching on as RVD takes it to their stablemate.

Van Dam’s offense continues on for a few more moments. Van Dam sends Jericho into the ropes and as he comes back, lifts him high into the air with a Gorilla Press! RVD drops Jericho down behind him. Jericho immediately flips over onto his back as RVD nails a picture perfect Standing Moonsault! 1... 2... NO! Jericho kicks out! Frustrated, RVD gets to his feet and drags Jericho toward the corner. Oh! Split Legged Moonsault! He goes for another cover! 1... 2... JERICHO KICKS OUT AGAIN! RVD can’t believe it! RVD climbs to the top rope as Jericho begins to get to his feet. RVD leaps off the ropes… OH! Jericho catches him by the legs! Jericho is trying for the Walls of Jericho, but RVD is fighting back! RVD grabs a hand full of hair and rolls Jericho up for a pin! 1... 2... JERICHO KICKS OUT YET AGAIN! RVD quickly gets to his feet and hit a spinning leg drop on Jericho, incapacitating him long enough for RVD to hope to the top rope. He SOARS OFF WITH THE FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH! HE NAILS IT! He goes for the cover! 1... 2... ……… What the hell? RVD looks up, as Edge raises to his feet, refusing to make the three count. RVD yells at few obscenities at Edge and then gets to his feet. Before he can even approach Edge, Edge lunges at him and takes him down with the Spear! Edge pulls Jericho over, draping his arm over RVD’s chest! 1. 2. 3! What a quick count, and what a screwjob! Edge helps Jericho to his feet and then raises his arm in victory.

Winner: Chris Jericho

Overall Rating: 90%

Vince McMahon and Chris Masters climb into the ring, Vince now with a microphone. On the outside, The Interns pull a table out from under the ring and set it up at ringside. Finally, they climb into the ring as well.

Vince: John! Kenneth! Get this piece of crap out of my ring!

John grabs RVD’s legs while Kenneth grabs his arms. They then proceed to deliver a two-man High Spirits over the top rope to the outside and THROUGH THE TABLE! HOLY SHIT! RVD is motionless!

Vince: That’s more like it! Now, Edge. I told you I wanted an answer tonight, and by God, I just got my answer! So right here, tonight in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania… I want all of you people to welcome The Corporation’s newest member! He is the WWE Champion, EDGE!

The crowd boos loudly as Edge continues to help Jericho stay on his feet.

Vince: Hahaha. Rob Van Dam! You're officially in the same boat as DX! You're on the wrong side of the battlefield! And RVD... if you're not with The Corporation, you're against us. And if you're against us... we've got... Two... Words... For you!

The Corporation: YOU'RE SCREWED!

The Corporation’s music hits the speakers and the group celebrates inside the ring as the show goes off the air.

Foley/Kane feud is really starting to heat up, still looking forward to what Foley means by Kane will Burn In Hell, or if he's just using it as an expression.

Gotta say I laughed at the Nigel Thornberry doll. God that show sucked. McGuinness using the cricket bat was a brilliant weapon.

Loved the High Spirits from the inside of the ring to the outside through a table to RVD. Very nicely done. Looking forward to Smackdown

Do Sequels Ever Live Up?

September 1, 2006

Last Friday, General Manager Teddy Long announced that the world would see Chris Benoit defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Batista one more time, this week on Smackdown! One would question if the odds are stacked against Batista, or if they’re in his favor, as this match will be a No Disqualification, No Count Outs encounter. Can Batista finally reclaim the championship he never lost?

Seven days ago, Big Show showed up on Smackdown, destroying Mr. Kennedy. Needless to say, Kennedy is far from happy with the events, and has stated that he will address the situation this week on Smackdown. Also, expect to see some amazing, high flying, fast paced, tag team action this week when the former WWE Tag Team Champions, London and Kendrick square off with The Mexicools!

Also in tag team action will be the New Blood’s Second City Saints when they square off with Southern Comfort to determine the number one contenders for the MNM’s WWE Tag Team Championships!

Don’t miss all of this and much more this week on Friday Night Smackdown at 8/7 CT on UPN.

I'm doing this as I read along.

- Please, no Edge turn for the love of god.

- DX vs. Interns/Cena was good, but HHH is going to get some payback.

- And I'm right...

- I hate Conway, please don't push him because right now, I can see him winning the IC Title at Unforgiven.

- I love this Kane/Foley feud & once it's finished, Kane should be a main eventer once again.

- This is why Eugene got over when he debuted, but this is also why no one gives a shit about him anymore.

- Nigel's push continues.

- Hooray, no face turn for Edge.

- So the Corporation now consists of:

Vince McMahon

Shane McMahon

Edge

John Cena

Chris Jericho

Chris Masters

Kenneth

John

D-X need to start recruiting some members otherwise it will be like NWO vs. WCW all over again.

Live! From Ocean City, Maryland

World Wrestling Entertainment Presents: Smackdown on UPN

The show comes onto the air with a video package showing the highlights from Batista versus Chris Benoit at SummerSlam. The video makes a point to show Benoit using the title belt as a weapon. As the video comes to a close, it shows a clip of Teddy Long announcing Batista versus Benoit in a No Disqualification match this week. The video fades off and the usual Smackdown opening video plays. Following that, the opening pyro goes off which is then immediately followed by Gunner Scott’s music. Gunner makes his way out from the back and heads to the ring, where Sylvan is already waiting.

Singles Match

Gunner Scott vs. Sylvan

The match begins and from the start, the two go back and forth quite a bit. However, within two minutes, Gunner Scott finds himself in firm control of Sylvan, working over his arm. Around the three minute mark, Gunner locks on the Crowbar, forcing Sylvan to tap out.

Winner: Gunner Scott

Overall Rating: 70%

Before Gunner Scott even gets a chance to celebrate, William Regal comes running down the aisle. He slides into the ring and goes after Gunner. Regal gets in a couple of shots, but then Gunner starts to fight back. Within moments, Gunner nails Regal with the One Night Stand and then leaves the ring, leaving Regal hurting on the mat.

Overall Rating: 67%

COMMERCIAL BREAK

The show returns from the break with Booker T sitting backstage with Finlay. Booker T complains about being pinned by Burchill last week.

Booker: Burchill thinks he’s some big star now that be pinned the five time… five time… five ti…

Finlay: GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!

Booker: … WCW Champion! Burchill ain’t nobody. He’s never gonna be nobody! Just like that boy Samoa Joe, Fit!

With the mention of Samoa Joe, Finlay immediately gets a worried look and says nothing. The cameras cut to the Smackdown interview set where Lashley stands with Kristal Marshall.

Overall Rating: 80%

Kristal: Ladies and gentlemen, I am here with the NEW… United States Champion, Lashley! Lashley, how does it feel to have defeated JBL to become the United States Champion?

Lashley: … I’m gonna keep this short… and simple. I’m ready for any and all challengers. I proved that last week, by defending this title only five days after winning it! Anyone who wants to step up and fight for this title… do it!

Lashley looks down at Kristal, probably at her breasts, before turning and walking away. Kristal stares at him with a smile as the cameras cut back to the arena.

Tag Team Match

Second City Saints vs. Southern Comfort

Southern Comfort’s music hits the speakers and Noble and Kash emerge from the back. Once they are in the ring, the Second City Saints make their way out. The match begins with Kid Kash and Colt Cabana. It is your average tag team match. CM Punk ends up playing the baby face in peril throughout the match. However, he eventually gets the hot tag to Colt Cabana, who storms into the ring and clears house. Jamie Noble is tossed to the outside, which enables the Saints to hit the RKO on Kid Kash! Cabana goes for the cover while Punk makes sure Noble can’t make it back into the ring! 1... 2... 3!

Winners: Second City Saints

Overall Rating: 92%

As the Second City Saints begin to celebrate, the cameras cut to the back, where MNM stand, watching a monitor.

Mercury: It looks like the Second City Saints are still the number one contenders to our titles.

Nitro: That’s okay, though. ‘Cause we’ve beaten them twice in a row now.

Melina: And you boys will have absolutely NO problem, beating them again!

Jamie Noble and Kid Kash walk onto the screen, tired and upset from losing their match just moments before. Joey Mercury stops them, wanting to talk to them.

Mercury: Hey, hey. Jamie. Dude, I heard a rumor that you slept with your sister. Ya know, like all those West Virginia hicks do. Haha.

Noble: Funny. Nice stereotyping. Besides, she was only my step sister, we’re not blood related.

Kid Kash’s eyes open wide and his jaw drops, surprised to be hearing that Noble did in fact sleep with his “sister”.

Kash: Dude, that’s so wrong!

Noble: Shut the hell up, Kash. You’re the one who slept with your cousin!

Kash: Third cousins don’t count!

The two continue to argue as they walk off. MNM all look at each other, disgusted.

Overall Rating: 77%

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Cruiserweight Championship

Petey Williams vs. Christopher Daniels©

The show returns from the break just as Christopher Daniels’ music hits the speakers. He emerges from the back to a good pop. He makes his way to the ring where a new guy is already waiting for him. (The new guy happens to be Petey Williams, who has recently been released by the company down south. Williams is being given a “try-out” match so to speak. I’ll let you guys be the judge on whether or not he should be signed full time.) Once Daniels is in the ring, the new guy is announced as Pete Williams. The referee finally calls for the bell to start the match. They go back and forth for a few minutes, with neither man getting the upper hand. They display some absolutely phenomenal mat work, showing that Williams is really trying to impress. As the match progresses, Williams is able to gain some momentum, eventually setting Daniels up for what appears to be a Powerbomb… or perhaps a Piledriver? Expecting a certain move, a small section of the crowd pops for it, but Daniels counters out with a back drop. As soon as Williams gets to his feet, Daniels catches him with the Angel’s Wings! 1... 2... 3! Daniels, rather than celebrating, helps Williams to his feet. Daniels offers a handshake, but Williams declines and leaves the ring.

Winner: And STILL Cruiserweight Champion, Christopher Daniels

Overall Rating: 67%

As Christopher Daniels celebrates his victory, the screen goes black and a video package begins to air.

Overall Rating: 79%

The cameras cut to the back as William Regal is sitting with Finlay, complaining about Gunner Scott.

Regal: That bloody wanker! That boy still has a lesson to be learned! That lesson, is respect! And I’m going to be the one to teach it to him! Bloody hell!

Regal storms out of the room, leaving Finlay sitting there by himself.

Finlay: Why is everybody complaining to me tonight?

Finlay shakes his head and then the camera fades to black.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Tag Team Match

London and Kendrick vs. The Mexicools

As the show returns from the break, The Mexicools’ music comes over the speakers. They make their way to the ring and are then proceeded by London and Kendrick. The match starts out with Kendrick and Super Crazy in the ring. They exchange some moves, going back and forth. Eventually, Kendrick gets some momentum and takes Crazy down near the corner. Kendrick heads to the top rope, but Crazy is quick to get up and ascend the ropes with him. They exchange some shots on the top rope, with Kendrick getting the better of Crazy, knocking him back down to the mat! Kendrick leaps off the ropes with a 450 Splash! OH! Crazy moves out of the way, just barely! Wait a second. Something isn’t right. The referee checks on Kendrick, who hasn’t moved since landing. The referee lifts his arms into the air, crossing them like an X toward the entrance way.

Suddenly, Super Crazy signals for Psicosis, who then runs across the ring and knocks London off of the apron. Super Crazy slowly rolls Kendrick over and pins him. 1... 2... 3! Super Crazy and Psicosis quickly leave the ring. Paul London slides into the ring to check on Kendrick as EMTs rush down the aisle with a stretcher and other medical supplies. Michael Cole and Tazz question what happened. A replay comes up onto the screen of the 450. The clip plays in slow motion, with a bit of a zoom in. As the clip plays, we can see that as Super Crazy rolled away, Brian Kendrick’s forehead clipped Super Crazy’s back, jarring his head back. This doesn’t look good.

Winners: The Mexicools

Overall Rating: 84%

As the EMTs tend to Brian Kendrick in the ring, the cameras cut to the back where the New Blood stands in front of the camera. Samoa Joe stands in the center of the group, looking angry as ever. Christopher Daniels is to his left, while the Second City Saints are to his right.

Daniels: Finlay, using that shillelagh to attack Joe last week, was the biggest mistake you’ve ever made! Do you see this man, Finlay? Do you? Look at him! He’s straight up ready to murder someone in that ring! And Finlay… that someone… is YOU! Finlay, hitting someone with a shillelagh… that isn’t wrestling. And we, the New Blood, are all about wrestling! Hell, CM Punk… he is addicted to wrestling! No Mercy might not be until October, Finlay, but Teddy Long has already made it official! At No Mercy, Finlay, you’re going to go one-on-one with the Samoan Wrecking Machine, Samoa Joe!

Samoa Joe gets even angrier. CM Punk steps forward and looks into the camera.

Punk: And Finlay… Watch out! ‘Cause Joe’s gonna kill you!

Punk and Cabana laugh as the group turns and walks off screen.

Overall Rating: 86%

COMMERCIAL BREAK

The show returns from commercials just as Mr. Kennedy’s music hits the speakers. He emerges from the back to some loud boos with a brown paper bag in his hand, and then makes his way to the ring, where he proceeds to do his own introduction.

Kennedy: Last week, I did what I set out to do! I put Rey Mysterio on the shelf!

The crowd boos.

Kennedy: But, I also did something else last week, that I hadn’t intended to do… and that was piss off a giant. It’s not a problem, though. You see, Two months ago, at the Great American Bash, I ended The Undertaker’s career! I wasn’t afraid of the Dead Man, The Undertaker, and I am certainly not afraid of the Fat Man, The Big Show! I am at a disadvantage here though, I’ll give you that, Show. Thing is, you’re too damn fat for me to lift you up for the Green Bay Plunge! But rest assured, I’ve got some other tricks up my sleeve… or in the bag. Whichever expression you’d like to use.

Kennedy opens the brown paper bag and pulls out a huge cheeseburger. Kennedy starts laughing, saying that he will distract the Big Show with the burger. Just then, Big Show’s music hits the speakers. Kennedy stops dead in his tracks, turning his attention to the entrance way. Big Show makes his way down to the ring and gets toe-to-toe with Kennedy. Kennedy nervously offers Big Show the cheeseburger. Big Show smacks the burger out of his hand, sending it flying into the crowd. Big Show then gets a few shots in on Kennedy before sending him into the ropes. Big Boot! Kennedy scurries to his feet and walks right into a goozle! Big Show quickly turns the goozle into a Cobra Clutch! OH! Cobra Clutch Backbreaker! Big Show then jerks Kennedy around and throws him across the ring! Big Show has decimated Mr. Kennedy once again! Show’s music hits and he stares angrily at Kennedy as the show fades to commercials.

World Heavyweight Championship No Disqualification Match

Batista vs. Chris Benoit© w/ Ric Flair

The show returns from the break just as Chris Benoit’s music hits the speakers. He makes his way out from the back with Ric Flair at his side. Once they are in the ring, a “BA-TIS-TA!” chant breaks out before Batista’s music echoes through the arena to a huge ovation. Batista emerges from the back to an even louder ovation. Batista makes his way to the ring and immediately gets face to face with Benoit. Ric Flair tries to get in between them, but the referee forced Flair to the outside. The referee calls for the bell for the match to begin. Benoit balls up and shoves Batista, only for Batista to shove him back, launching him across the ring. Benoit gets to his feet and charges at Batista, walking right into a huge side walk slam! From that point on, Batista has firm control of the match. After a few minutes, Batista sends Benoit into the ropes, and then catches him with a huge Spinebuster! He goes for the cover, but Ric Flair climbs up onto the apron, distracting the referee!

Batista gets to his feet, approaching Flair. He yanks Flair into the ring and grabs him by the throat. Before he can do anything though, Benoit comes out of nowhere with a steel chair and clobbers him in the back! Batista is hardly phased by it, and spins around to face Benoit. Benoit isn’t sure what to do. He panics, and attempts to lift the chair up once more, but Batista grabs him by the throat. However, once again, before he can do anything, he is attacked from behind. This time, by Ric Flair with a low blow! Due to it being directly in front of the referee, and the match being no disqualification, the referee opts to eject Ric Flair from ringside! The crowd erupts into cheers and Ric Flair throws a fit on his way to the back.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

When the show returns, the two are brawling around ringside, with Batista still in control. They brawl their way over near the announce tables, where Benoit begins to fight back. Benoit slams Batista’s head on the ring apron and then sends him hard into the ring steps! With Batista incapacitated, Benoit approaches the announce table, where he proceeds to remove the cover and the monitors. Benoit then moves back over to Batista, where he delivers a few shots to him and then drags him over to the announce table. He blasts Batista in the head with one of the monitors! Benoit then lays Batista across the announce table. It looks like Batista is busted open! Benoit climbs back into the ring and climbs to the top rope. He isn’t planning on a Diving Headbutt to the outside, is he? Well, if he was, his plan’s been ruined! Batista rolls off of the table to the floor.

Benoit climbs back down the ropes and heads to the outside, getting in a couple more shots on Batista. However, Batista fights back and drags Benoit closer to the announce table! Uh oh! He sets him up for the Batista Bomb! OH! JBL COMES OUT OF NOWHERE AND BLASTS BATISTA IN THE BACK WITH A STEEL CHAIR! Benoit quickly crawls away as JBL gets in a handful of shots on Batista. OH NO! JBL WITH A POWERBOMB ON BATISTA THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE! JBL grabs Batista by the hand and drags him toward the ring. He lifts him up and rolls him into the ring, yelling at Chris Benoit to get in there and pin him. Benoit slowly climbs into the ring and crawls over for the cover. 1... 2... 3! No! JBL just cost Batista the World Heavyweight Championship! This is bullshit! Benoit gets to his feet as his music hits. The referee hands him his belt as he climbs out of the ring. JBL stands on the outside, staring at Batista with a smile. The cameras stay on JBL as the show goes off the air.

Corporate Punishment

September 4, 2006

Last week, in a state of utter anger, Mr. McMahon announced that Shane McMahon and himself would be squaring off against D-Generation X this week on RAW! Do the McMahons have something up their sleeves for DX? Also, Edge finally gave an answer last week when he assisted Chris Jericho in defeating Rob Van Dam, thusly joining the Corporation. What does The Corporation have in store for Rob Van Dam this week?

Things continue to heat up between Mick Foley and Kane, no pun intended. Kane is scheduled for action this week. Will we find out anything more about their mysterious rematch at Unforgiven?

RAW new-comer Nigel McGuinness has really been making some waves on Monday Nights so far. He is set to take on Charlie Haas this week. Will we see Shelton Benjamin and/or Eugene get involved? Also, Rob Conway interfered in the Intercontinental Championship match last week, resulting in the match being thrown out. What will happen now with the title situation?

All this and much more on Monday Night RAW (9/8 CT; USA Network).

- Regal should've gotten the upperhand when he attacked Scott.

- Finlay being scared of Joe will help get Joe over, good job on that.

- Open challenge by Lashley, don't know who could challenge him though.

- I was hoping for MNM to interfere, making the match a no contest but I guess you have the angle on RAW. But please, don't let them face each other again.

- This segment OWNED & you are definitely on the money with WWE humour.

- I think your starting to bring in too many indy/TNA guys right now, so don't bring Petey in.

- I like this Warrior guy already.

- Once again, you know WWE humour.

- Too bad for Kendrick injury, 8 months is pretty bad.

- Woot! Joe vs. Finlay, should be a good match.

- Typical Show segment against a cocky guy, still good though.

- JBL/Benoit/Batista at No Mercy as well? I like, but I guess it's just a way to continue the Benoit/Batista storyline for another month.

Live! From Poughkeepsie, New York

World Wrestling Entertainment Presents: RAW on USA

As the broadcast comes onto the air, Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon stand in front of the camera in what appears to be Vince’s office. Both McMahons have a huge smile on their face.

Vince: Hello again ladies and gentlemen. Tonight, my son Shane and I, we’re going to single handedly destroy D-Generation X! Yes, that’s right. And damn, does it feel good to say it! But right now, folks, I’m in a great mood. So, I’m going to announce another match, for right here tonight. You’re going to see everybody’s favorite superstar, (Shane follows along with the thumb taunts in the background) Rob… Van… Dam… And he’s going to go up against Edge!

The crowd can be heard cheering.

Vince: … AND Chris Jericho! In a HANDICAP MATCH!

The cheering turns into loud boos.

Vince: And since I am a big fan of getting things right away… that match… happens… right… NOW!

Overall Rating: 94%

The opening RAW video package airs. There is no pyro following the video. Instead, Edge’s music hits the speakers and he emerges from the back with Chris Jericho. They make their way to the ring and await the arrival of Rob Van Dam. After a few moments, his music hits. He steps out from behind the curtains, one arm grasping his ribs. He slowly makes his way down toward the ring, obviously hurt from the High Spirits through the table last week.

Handicap Match

Rob Van Dam vs. Edge and Chris Jericho

As soon as RVD enters the ring, he is jumped by Jericho and Edge. The two beat down on him relentlessly. RVD tries his hardest to fight back, even getting in quite a few shots on both men. However, with his ribs being injured, and with the numbers against him, RVD quickly succumbs to the beating. Jericho and Edge work over RVD’s back and his ribs, and within two minutes of the opening bell, Edge nails the Spear! Edge gives the nod to Chris Jericho, who then goes for the cover. 1... 2... 3! The match is over, but they aren’t done yet. They pull RVD to his feet again and Edge proceeds to hit another Spear! With RVD down on the mat, Jericho applies the Walls of Jericho! RVD yells in pain but Jericho refuses to release the hold. Finally, after what seems like minutes, Jericho lets go with a smile. The Corporation’s music hits the speakers and they make their way to the back as the show fades to commercials.

Winners: Edge and Chris Jericho

Overall Rating: 89%

COMMERCIAL BREAK

As the show returns from the break, a graphic appears on the screen announcing that at Unforgiven, Chris Masters will defend his Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat Match against Carlito and Rob Conway. Following the video, the cameras cut backstage as Carlito stands near the RAW interview set with Todd Grisham.

Grisham: Carlito, as we just saw, you will be getting another shot at the Intercontinental Championship in just under three weeks at Unforgiven. What are your thoughts?

Carlito: Carlito thinks… that’s cool. It’s been far too long since Carlito has had WWE gold around his waist. A let’s face it Grisham. Everyone of those fans out there agree. Carlito with gold… that’s cool.

Overall Rating: 76%

Rob Conway makes his way onto the set and gets face to face with Carlito.

Conway: Carlito, you don’t need a title. You don’t deserve a title. You say it’s been too long since you’ve been a champion. There’s a reason for that, pal. You suck. Plain and simple. I deserve to be the Intercontinental Champion! Just look at me! I’m the alpha male! I’m the total package! I AM the reflection… of perfection! I have never held that Intercontinental title… it’s time I did!

Chris Masters then walks onto the screen with a smirk on his face, and the Intercontinental Championship over his shoulder.

Masters: What makes you two jackasses think that either of you deserve this title? You both need to shut up and quit dreaming, because no one… NO ONE… will ever take the Intercontinental title away from him. I mean, give me a break. Carlito… you suck. And Conway? … Heh… You swallow!

Conway gets a look of shock on his face as Carlito’s mouth drops open in amazement. Masters smirks and walks off screen. Carlito begins to chuckle as Conway continues to look shocked.

Nigel McGuinness w/ Dean Ayass vs. Charlie Haas

The cameras return to the arena as Nigel McGuinness’ music hits the speakers. He emerges from the back with Dean Ayass at his side. They make their way to the ring and are then proceeded by Charlie Haas. Once Haas is in the ring, the match begins. They go back and forth for a while, display some excellent wrestling skills. However, as the match progresses, Charlie Haas gains momentum, capitalizing on one or two mistakes made by Nigel. Eventually, Haas is able to hit the Exploder Suplex ‘98 and go for the pin……… Where’s the referee? Haas looks up and the referee is being distracted by Dean. Haas gets to his feet and takes a couple of steps, but is then whipped around… EXPLODER T-BONE FROM SHELTON BENJAMIN! Benjamin drags Nigel over and drapes his arm over Charlie and then flees the ring while Dean hops off the apron. The referee hurries over for the count. 1... 2... 3!

Following the bell, Shelton is back into the ring to beat down on Haas. As soon as Nigel comes to, he joins in on the beating. Wait! Eugene comes running down the ramp! He slides into the ring and goes after Nigel! Eugene tosses Nigel over the top rope to the outside. He turns his attention to Shelton Benjamin, who says “screw it!” and flees. Eugene helps Charlie Haas to his feet as the show fades to commercials.

Johnny Swinger vs. Kane

The show returns from the break just as Kane’s pyro explodes from the stage. Kane emerges from the back and makes his way to the ring, where Johnny Swinger is already waiting. Kane enters the ring and Swinger immediately attacks him. Swinger gets in a dozen or so shots before Kane comes back and starts to decimate him. Kane sends him into the ropes and catches him in the face with a big boot! Swinger slowly gets back to his feet. Kane hoists him up onto his shoulder. Oh, no! TOMBSTONE! 1... 2... 3!

Winner: Kane

Overall Rating: 68%

Before Kane can even think about celebrating, the house lights go off and a dark, gritty video begins to play on the big screen. The video shows very, very vague shots of some type of platform, lit ablaze. Burning words begin to flash on the screen.

“Two men will risk their lives…

To end each others’…

One Man…

Will be…

BURNED ALIVE”

If this isn’t going to be an Inferno Match… what the hell is it going to be?

Once they are in the ring, the music fades out. A few moments pass and a “DX” chant breaks out. Another few moments pass and… Vince McMahon’s music hits the speakers… What the hell? Vince and Shane emerge from the back… wait… That’s Triple H dressed up as Vince and Michaels as Shane! They make their way down to the ring, Triple H mocking Vince’s walk, and Shawn Michaels mocking Shane’s juking and jiving. They enter the ring and get face to face with their counterparts. The crowd is up in arms with laughter. Vince and Shane say some harsh words to their opponents before throwing out the first punches. However, they are blocked. Triple H and Shawn Michaels fight back with ease and take it to the owner and his offspring.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

The show returns from the break with HBK and Shane in the ring. Shane is being completely manhandled. Vince is refusing to be tagged in, as well. In the midst of getting their asses handed to them, Vince and Shane try every dirty tactic they can think of, but to no avail. HBK goes to whip Shane into the corner, but Shane reverses and spins around, sending HBK into Vince’s corner! Vince gets in a couple of shots and then enters the ring, joining Shane in beating down on HBK! Triple H quickly enters the ring and goes after Shane. Triple H gets in a few punches and then sends Shane into the ropes. SPINEBUSTER! Vince gets in a few last punches on Michaels and then turns his attention to Triple H. They begin to argue in the middle of the ring. While they are exchanging words, Shane manages to get back to his feet. He lungs at Triple H, but HBK comes back out of nowhere with the Sweet Chin Music on Shane! At the same time, Vince catches a boot to the midsection from Triple H! Triple H has him set up for the Pedigree!

What the hell? JOHN CENA slides into the ring behind Triple H, tossing Shawn Michaels over the top rope to the outside! Just as Michaels hits the floor, Vince’s head hits the mat with a Pedigree! Triple H turns around… FU FROM CENA! The referee calls for the bell! Vince rolls to the apron, while Shane already lies on another side of the ring.

Winners: By Disqualification, D-Generation X

Overall Rating: 88%

Cena continues to beat down on Triple H. Vince and Shane slowly make it back to their feet. At that time, HBK climbs back into the ring, but The Interns rush to the ring and are quick to take him down and make sure he cannot help Triple H. With the Interns holding Shawn down, Shane makes his way to the outside and grabs a steel chair, and then proceeds to throw it into the ring for John Cena. Cena places the chair in the middle of the ring and pulls Triple H to his feet. He sets him up for… The PEDIGREE?! OH! MY! GOD! Pedigree to Triple H on the steel chair! Triple H is busted open! Shawn is forced to watch on while Triple H lies in a puddle of his own blood. Shane then hands Vince a microphone.

Vince: Triple H! Allow me to introduce you to your opponent at Unforgiven! John CENA!

Vince throws down the microphone and stares down at Triple H. Shane raises John Cena’s arm as if he’s won a match as the show goes off the air.

A Big Return

September 8, 2006

Two weeks ago, the Big Show made a shocking return to Smackdown when he attacked Mr. Kennedy, saving Rey Mysterio from a vicious beating. Big Show once again showed up last week, leaving Kennedy laid out in the ring yet again. This week, General Manager Teddy Long has officially signed Big Show for his first in ring competition since returning to Smackdown! Big Show will go one-on-one with Booker T in this week’s main event!

Batista had a chance to regain the World Heavyweight Championship last week in a No Disqualification match against Chris Benoit. However, JBL interjected himself into the match, delivering a sickening Powerbomb through the announce table to the Animal. Neither of these three men are scheduled for competition this week on Smackdown, but all three are expected to be present. What is in store for them this week?

Last Friday, Lashley laid out the open challenge to anyone willing to fight for his United States Championship. Will anyone answer the challenge? Also, Matt Hardy will make his return to Smackdown after being absent for nearly a month. However, Matt Hardy, nor anyone else, knows who his opponent will be. Who will challenge Matt Hardy?

Don’t miss all of this and much more this week on Friday Night Smackdown at 8/7 CT on UPN.

- Good way to get RVD over as the challenger, but I think it would be better if you align him with D-X somewhat.

- I'm not liking this push for Masters.

- Eugene/Haas tag team is not something I want to see, but I assume it won't be lasting long since they have their own singles feuds.

- So you changed Parisi's name?

- I'm thinking a really huge match going down, involving a scaffold perhaps?

- HHH/Cena, I like this match alot but D-X & RVD better get some payback next week.
