So here's a question... are the Oakland Raiders the worst team in sports right now?

Yeah, or atleast tied with the Lions.

17-3 lead. Things well in hand, the wheels come off, and fifteen minutes later it;'s 19-17 and another Lions loss. There isn't much to comment about, the old Lions cliche remains true, they find another way to lose.

Well...

That was fucking embarassing. From the stupid ass obvious fake punt, to the bad defense. Fuck.

At least Ben got his mechanics back, now if he would only get his head out of his ass and stop making those horrible decisions like last year maybe we could win a few games.

If they lose to the Chiefs next week the season is over. I'm one of the most positive Steeler fans I know, but Christ this is getting old. Ben improves every week, so hopefully next week he finally gets on the right page.

Note to Bill Cowher and Ken Whisenhunt: YOU HAVE SANTONIO HOLMES! USE HIM!

For fucksake crossing patterns aren't what he's suited for, let him spread the field. Dammit.

This is so frustrating, so embarassing. The whole team is playing like shit with a few exceptions (Casey Hampton proved he's the best 3-4 DT in the NFL, Willie ran hard, "The Dumptruck" Dookie Davenport looked decent, Hines is getting better) but everyone else played like shit.

Cowher's counting the days until he retires to North Carolina.

Goddammit this team could conceivably be 4-0 right now, but they've played like shit all year. Fuck. This is annoying.

I feel like a Browns fan, only y'know...with expectations higher than winning 3 games a year.

Your upset...try being a buccaneers fan right now.

Atleast Gradkowski is the future and Chris Simms can pack his fucking bag.

Caddy's beginging to roll.

Receivers are doing their job.

The defense is sucking hine tit, but hey, there old and washed up. We should be atleast 2 and 2 right now.

I look at the Raiders and wonder what the fuck happened. Each and every week. Art Shell needs to do something to these guys or these guys need to do something to Art Shell.

From the looks of it Shell should've just stayed at home watching football rather than trying a comeback.

Yeah... look at that horrible coaching

Oakland just sucks this year, if Shell gets some talent he can turn THE RAIIIDDAAAHHHHSSSS around. He isn't a flashy coach, but the NFL isn't flashy. Run first has always been the key to success in the NFL. Even with Peyton the threat of Edge opened everything up because you can't focus on one thing.

Davis admitted firing him the first time was a mistake, and if they can make some good offseason moves, and get some good kids in the draft, they will be on track. Bing was a good pick up last year, and this year they may end up with Quinn, although I would trade down and get some defense or line help.

I don't know if he will survive this or next season, but I believe Art Shell is a good fit. He knows football, he just needs players that fit into his system, and outspoken players like Moss do not. They need defense, lines, and a better running back. Which can not be changed overnight.

Gibbs, Shottenheimer, Parcells, among others proves that just because this is a different era doesn't mean you lose the ability to coach. If you think Shell is not a passer, go look at his team stats.

While he normally hung around the middle of the NFL in all offense, rushing and passing, his yards per attempt in passing outside of 1992 were in the top 5. His pass defense outside of 1991 were top 10.

The difference? Personal. He does not have his personal that can compete at this time. Saying he is a bad coach is ludacris and shows minimal knowledge of the person you are talking about. Are there better coaches? Yes. Are there worse? Yes. But until the front office can address issues in multiple off-seasons the Raiders will not be a threat to anyone. I woudl give Shell 3-5 years to get personal in that he needs through the draft and free agency to compliment his coaching system. The one downfall has been the Raiders off-season moves in the past that have blown money and essentially not worked out.

I think by years end we will get a better feel for how the future looks for his system, maybe not the players, but the system.

I don't see Be and that other guy bragging about their Ravens this week ¬_¬

HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS?!

And plus, we lost to Denver in Mile High on a Monday Night. It's not like we lost to the Raiders in Baltimore or something. There's still much to brag about, like our defense playing a great game once again.

That's cuz I've been playing EHM '07. Still, it wasn't exactly a poor defensive performance, even if the offense failed miserably.

The offense actually does worry me a little. Not exactly the personnel (though the loss of Mulitalo is huge), but Brian fucking Billick. Since he knows nothing about defense he lets Ryan run that to near perfection. But since he thinks he knows everything about offense he tries to meddle in it as much as he can and I think it is detrimental.
