The top 100 films according to EWB

So with all these threads which have caused us to argue about the placings of films in the rankings, I had an idea: lets sort out our own little list of the greatest movies of all time. Most of us happen to be mature, so i guess the films that are sorted will end up being actual epics, not kiddie films that people like because there is nothing to compare them to. If this turns out alright it will also double up as a beginners guide to epics, where anyone could just look into this and say.. "I like the look of this. I'll watch it"

Each member (that participates) creates a list of their top 20 movies, these will be then totalled up using a points scheme (20 for no1, 1 for no20 etc.) This will be tallied up all the time, due to having a database at ready for all the actual work. After a while i'll post the results and everyone can complain about the placements of the movies, just like on IMDB

This is how i'd like you to organise your list (you can develop on points for why it is good in your opinion if you want, but it isnt gonna change a thing with the points)

Ah, nothing like Hamster to throw in some movies nobody else has heard of, and thus add more to the selection. We'll be at 100 in no time once Benji and J show up.

Wha? Which of those haven't you heard of?

Echo'd. I've heard and seen most of those in his list bar maybe one or two.

Yeah, I was planning to echo the post. Most of the Oriental films he lists are the "obvious" ones generally.

Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa is probably the most famous japanese movie of all time, Zatoichi(I've only seen the one with Takeshi Kitano) is about a blind swordsman and Ong-Bak turned stunt double Tony Jaa into an established actor.

Is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind worth seeing? Everyone seems to talk about it, I have heard that it isn't very good from a few people I know. Is it actually that good then?
