It's not coming to your TV screen this fall, but the pilot for "Aquaman" is now available for your viewing pleasure.

The show, which The CW rejected for its inaugural schedule, joined the roster of TV offerings on Apple's iTunes service Tuesday. The pilot is among several shows from Warner Bros. TV making their debut on the service; users can also download the first season of "Friends," "Babylon 5," "The Flintstones" and "The Jetsons."

"Making our television content available to iTunes consumers is an important step in our digital distribution strategy," says Simon Kenny, president of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. "This deal fits perfectly with our philosophy of providing consumers with access to our world-class entertainment properties across the widest selection of platforms and devices available."

As with most iTunes video offerings, episodes of the shows will cost you $1.99 apiece. Viewers can also download the full first season of "Friends" for $27.99.

The "Aquaman" pilot, which was created by "Smallville's" Al Gough and Miles Millar, stars Justin Hartley ("Passions") as the prince of Atlantis, who lives on land in Florida and is starting to discover his legacy. Ving Rhames ("Kojak," "Mission: Impossible III") and Denise Quinones ("Freddie") also star.

It's also the first show offered on iTunes that has never aired on a network, and the second pilot to get a new lease on life in the past week thanks to the Internet. NBC announced a few days ago it was redeveloping the comedy "Nobody's Watching" based on its popularity on YouTube.

Thats good to here as I was actually looking forward to the show, wondering how they could pull off a show about one of the most worthless superheroes ever. I did hear it was a good pilot though so I might check it out.

Aquaman's, like, the second gayest superhero in the world. Why does this exist?

Sub-Mariner has to get #1 by default then.

Shit, I forgot about him...

Captain Planet's still number one, though.

So for all the people pissed off that Aquaman didn't get picked up to the CW schedule, credit cards at this point will speak louder than words. And from The CW's perspective, if it doesn't generate enough interest to warrant an episode order, at least they'll make some cash selling the pilot online. TV networks are definitely starting to figure out how to effectively use the internet though, and that's gotta be encouraging.

Fuck Aquaman, that's the big news :w00t:
