THQ and its LLC respond to WWE lawsuit filed on October 12th.

THQ and THQ/JAKKS Pacific LLC issued a statement in regards to a lawsuit was filed on October 12, 2006 in Connecticut state court by World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. against THQ and THQ/JAKKS Pacific. The suit involves a claim previously reported in Securities and Exchange Commission filings concerning allegedly improper sales of WWE video games in Japan and other countries in Asia. The lawsuit seeks, among other things, a declaration that the WWE is entitled to terminate the video game license and monetary damages.

THQ and its partners says that the lawsuit is without merit and that it intends to defend their rights vigorously. THQ and its partners publish WWE wrestling games for current and next generation platforms like the Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and PSP. The next WWE game will be WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2007.
