I fucking shitted on that ice esper, I had Vaan and balthier use Thundara on the little ones whiles trying to avoid the main guy, and healing if anything was reflected, and equipped Basch with the storm spear and let him tear shit up. It was the easiest battle so far for me.

What I found harder was getting that piece of dark matter afterwards, and then having to fight 50 thousand of those slug things, and then having to fight that rare spawn after. That was harsh.

Great game, and actually a lot harder then most of the other games, I've found myself getting killed several times along the way.

I'm in the sands on the way to the tomb with the treasure (I'm shit with names), and I keep getting savaged by tomatoes and the clan that lives there. They are fucking my shit up, to be frank. I think I managed to get through eventually, but when I've levelled up further, I might go back for shits and giggles and slaughter them all.

Yeah. I may have to go back and do some levelling there now. You'll have fun with the Garuda when you reach the tomb. ¬_¬

I think in my haste to get away from the baddies in that area, I actually went the wrong way.

When I realised that my last save was closer to where I needed to go then where I was, and I had been cornered by some big owl-like creatures, I turned the game off, and kept my dignity >_>

See, thats the problem for me. Where the frig do you get Thundara from? I saw it say that in one-of the boss by boss guides while browsing Game, and I can't see the thing in any of the magic shops. I tried Rabanastre, Dalbina, street merchants...everywhere. Where is the thing?

Yeah finally got after stalking all the merchants. Eventually found it in Rabanastre. Really helpful too, especially for killing flans.

Anyone know roughly what level I should be before attempting Rank IV hunts? I'm around Level 35 at the moment and killed Gil Snapper etc. without too much trouble.

I found the Garuda pretty easy in the end....yet Belias raped me the first two times I went up against him.

I'm just moving on to the 2nd level hunts. It took me a while to even bother with them, but they are a good source of gil, EXP (killing all the monsters on the way to the mark) and loot, so I've spent the last couple of hours doing it.

Ah, quickenings. I've yet to try those out.

My people are level 14/15. I once managed to get it down to about 1/3 health just by having Fran cast Dark on it again and again...but then I ran out of ideas. ¬_¬

Basically, all six of my characters have quickenings, so I got 3 of them to cast thiers, combo as much as I could in the 4 second time phase. Then, I drafted them out, brought in the other 3 and did it again. Insta-kill.

Yeah, its cheap, but my team isn't exactly that impressive abilities/magic/accessories-wise.

I beat him the 3rd time, so it wasn't as bad as it was shaping up to be.

Anyone know any good places to go and level up just after the point of getting Belias and completing the tomb?

I've also done the second time on the ship, where it ends up getting destroyed by the dawn shard

I'm not even sure what these berry things are that people refer to. :shifty:

Where did you buy them from?

You don't buy 'em. As best I can remember when you're about halfway through the desert, one of those Yensa things will be talking to a Moogle asking him for help. Go talk to the Moogle to see what's up, and he'll tell you about a big turtle thing that's eating the sand-people. After that I think you have to run after the Yensa guy for a while before you can go kill that turtle thing. Anyway, you'll get the berries at the end of this little sidequest. Use 'em on the bird and it should be a breeze.

I did that, and got a little notice saying that I'd killed it. Should I have magically got the berries or did I need to go back and talk to them again?
