Just played poker with Kevin Smith

So here I was on Thursday enjoying he first day of me three day vacation in Las Vegas and staying at the wonderful Paris Hotel and Casino. I was playing in the 4 seat at the 1-2 No Limit table when they suddenly announce a seat available for Kevin. I'm in the middle of a hand so I don't pay much attention to who sits down however when I fold my hand and I look up, there is Kevin Smith. I kinda had a bit of a star struck moment. I've met and seen a lot of celebrities at my work but that's always when I'm in "waitress" mode but now here I was playing poker with one of my favorite film makers.

So anyways, I tried to be cool about it but eventually I just kinda blurted out how much I loved his movies and he said thankyou and that was about it. About an hour went by and turns out he's a pretty decent poker player. He made a couple of stupid moves which I actually pointed out and he just kinda nodded his head until I cold called his hand a few minutes later just by the way he played it pre-flop. He actually asked me what I would have done and I told him and then we started talking about Ben Affleck and comic books. We played for about another hour when I'm dealt AQ offsuit in the big blind. Kevin raises it $40 pre-flop, I call and all the limpers fold. Flop comes K-J-5 rainbow so I check to Kevin and he actually checks to me. Turn gives me my straight with a 10 but I check it to Kevin who raises me $100 dollars. Now he had about $200 dollars or so and I had about $300 in front of me. I put on this fake little frown and checked my cards again and then I looked at him and asked if he had the straight to which he told me to call and he'd tell me. I asked him if I called he'd get me to the premiere of his new movie and he said "definatly" so instead I raised him all-in and he kinda looked suprised and called me. He turned over two pair K's and 10's and he was shocked about my straight. I didn't think about it after that because he bought back in but later on when he got up to leave he asked for my cell phone number and I gave it to him laughing. Later on Friday night he actually called me to see if I gave him a real phone number and said he'd call me again whenever he makes another movie so I can get invited to the premiere!!

So...yeah. I had a terrible vacation with bad weather and a horrible plane trip but this whole thing really made it awesome.

That's a fucking killer story. I haven't heard a thing about Kevin Smith that's been bad, so I wouldn't be surprised if you're saved in his phone with 'Poker' beside your name just so he remembers to call you, haha.

I can honestly say from seeing the pic in the Picture Place, Pepsi is hotter than Smith's current wife by miles. >_>
