Somewhat shocked to see Augie March take it out. The top twenty doesn't offend me too much, though, although Lily Allen got played to death on commercial radio once they got a hold of her. At least it wasn't dominated by Bernard Fanning again this year.

5 Scissor Sisters I Don't Feel Like Dancing

And the verdict is in, Australia is full of gays. But seriously, who's Augie March? I've never heard of him/her/it/them before, and you'd think that to be the top non-mainstream thing in Australia would warrant some kind of recognition.

I only know one Augie March song, and that's One Crowded Hour. It's not bad, nothing remarkable. I think Bernard Fanning got #1 last year with Songbird, so I guess the Australian submainstream scene has a soft spot for guitar ballads.

I liked her stuff for a while, but every commercial station down here played Smile and LDN to death, which hurt more than This 'Aint a Scene, It's An Arms Race being the Ripe Clip of the Week on two different music channels.

Lily Allen!

Well not that I like her but the LDN video and song is actually very good. Shame on the haters. Her appearance on Buzzcocks refreshed my faith in her a little.

The live version of LDN's brilliant, if only for liberal usage of the word "cunting".

Quite a bit late, but I just discovered this thread. This was up there with the worst hottest 100's in recent years in my opinion. It seems to be getting worse and worse each year.

The fact that there was not even ONE song from You Am I, The Drones, Wolf & Cub or The Sleepy Jackson makes me hate the current state of Australian music.
