Xbox 360 broke!

Its a hardware fault, mine did the same. Do you have the Red lights of Death yet? If not it might run on and off for a while. After that its either a case of contacting Xbox Customer Support to send it for repair or swap it where you bought it if they have a decent warranty length.

Yeah, if you have the red lights, just get on to Microsoft. They are actually pretty good with that, and either repair it or replace it outright, since its a pretty notorious problem.

You havent broken it, It might only freaze on one game, Mine does it too but only on Saints Row (On the fucking Vice Kings boss mission no less) but everywhere else its fine, So it might be the same for you.

I turned on Madden Football and it froze as the players were being introduced. So I hit the button on the system to turn it off and when I turned it back on it didn't even make it to the dashboard before freezing again.

I would suggest going to the xbox site and to the support section. There is an FAQ for freezing with some things to try.

Did you leave the game in when you restarted? I had a few problems like that with Madden 06 myself. Would freeze sometimes and if I left it in, wouldnt restart properly.

Ok I took the game out like it said on the site and the red lights came on! So I turned it off and figured that was it, but now I turned it back on and it works. Is it just the game? Or is the thing about to die?

I wouldnt worry, similar thing happened with mine. It froze with Madden 06, then 4 red lights came, and then it worked again grand and has been going ever since. Only get worried if you see 3 red lights.

Personally, I would think more red lights means more severe problem, but meh. Your system should be working grand. But if its anything like mine, Madden will always be a bit iffy.

Might just be overheating. Make sure it's got a decent air supply and it'll be fine.

If it was dead you'd simply get the red ring of death.

Well, that does sound like it for the machine. Just get on to Microsoft, they are very good for that. Im pretty sure the will repair/replace for free, even if its out of warranty, since its a pretty common problem, and would appear to be a design fault.

Oh well. Contact Microsoft and they'll send you out a box to send it to them in and instuctions on what to send (you don't send your hard drive or faceplate for example) and they'll send you out a new system, free of charge.

You will definately be covered since M$ recently extended all warranties to 3 years so even if you were an early adopter you're still good. You're probably looking at about a month or so of downtime though.

The 360 came with a one year guarantee, which was recently upgraded to a blanket 3-year warranty in light of the frequency of the failures. So everyone who has a 360 is covered at the moment.

You automatically get one with the console, seperate from any store one. Originally I believe it was 30 days, then it went up to a year, now it's 3 years.
