Some DSL boxes have a built-in router I believe. Are you running wirelessly or plugging it into the back? It could be a problem with the MAC address as it's a new console.

I just went in to get a Pre-owned 360 about two hours ago. I plug it in at home all ready to start rocking out to GHII and when I press the on button i get a flashing red light instead of a green one. Is this the infamous red rings? Also the disc holder won't open.

Is it already time to trade it back to the store?

Try taking all the wires apart and plugging it back in. Red lights usually means that the system was just shut down improperly. If that doesn't work then you'll need to trade it in.

Mine died again yesterday, three red lights of doom. That's the second time in a year, and I don't play heavily by any means, just a few hours a week. What's the deal on warranty? I heard it had been extended?

After having my 360 since early 2006, I finally got the red lights of death. Problem is, I cannot find a receipt and if they need that info I may be fucked over. Atleast I'll finally have to play some PS2 games.

You don't need a receipt to send it to get repaired. Mine's currently being fixed for the second time, only this time it's taking twice as long <_>

Same here. Last time I got it repaired, it took four days, and it was back. Now, it's been over three weeks. Pain in the arse.
