Well the song alone isn't so bad; Untitled 2 by John Frusciante from Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt on the mini film 'Stuff' filmed by Johnny Depp is coupled with Frusciante reading some form of poetry over the top while the camera just goes round his house, revealing that John was living in probably the best set for a horror film ever.

EDIT: For anyone who watches it, its the song the starts around the 3 minute mark as soon as you some of his blood on the wall, but both songs before that are quite creepy already.

"I Come And Stand At Every Door" by This Mortal Coil, "Patriot (A Single)" by Scott Walker, "N.L.T." by SunnO))) & Boris, "Sleep" by Godspeed! You Black Emperor and "Land Of Some Other Order" by Earth probably all fit the kind of eery and creepy category, but I'd be hard pressed to think of "frightening" songs per-sé.

EDIT: Actually, Penderecki's "Threnody For The Victims Of Hiroshima" probably fits the bill for frightening.

Most of Earth's discography is creepy, I still like to go back and listen to Earth2 on occasion just for how atmospheric songs like Teeth Of The Lions Rule The Divine is.

I suppose a lot of drone-y stuff could be considered creepy in the right situation, but since Earth have started incorporating almost Morricone-esque aspects with Hex and so forth, it just all sounds so desolate, it's fantastic.

Also, "The Electrician" by The Walker Brothers. Crikey.

The "waaaah-aaah-aah" part from Child In Time from Deep Purple got to me. The first time I heard it was during the film One Day In September, just after the failed hostage rescue attempt whilst it showed the black and white photos of the airport and the dead the next morning.

"G.I. Joe" by The Melvins and Mike Patton....also, it reminds me of another "creepy" song I can't believe I neglected to mention; "What's He Building In There?" by Tom Waits. The first time I heard that on Muse's live album, I was more than a little creeped out.

I just realized that people probably have no idea what I was talking about, so let me elaborate. After the final song on that album, the track kept going on (as in, time kept ticking but there was no music playing) and I never really paid it much attention. I just left the headphones in and started clicking around the internet. Suddenly and from out of no where, a low, low voice starts talking about builds up...

"Someone's in your house...."

"Someone's in your house...."

"Someone's in your house...."

You seriously need to hear it, the voice is creepy as hell and then you're able to hear the heavy breathing... ugh. It scared the shit out of me until the end where it goes "You understand this isn't just a CD... it is taking over your brain...You think... you think you are SAFE?" before bursting out into a loud voice yelling;

"MAKE WAY FOR THE QUEEN"
