lol buy a PS3 lol.

Also, isn't it the Red Ring Of Death? ¬_¬

It has a name? I just made it up on the fly :crying:

Is it the whole red circle or just 3 pieces of the circle in red while one is not lit at all?

That's it. The circle is divided in 4 pieces, upper left, down left, upper right, down right. The upper right one is not lit. Also makes a strange noise when I turn it on.

Then it is just over heated.

3 rings=death.

Yeah, that's what I said, 3 rings lit up, one doesn't... I don't think it's overheating, as I played for about just 15 minutes (3 matches). On the support page it also mentions the exact same thing. Tried calling the support number, but it's too late now, it was only until 5 PM <_<

Good thing I still have the freakin' warranty. But now that I think about it... in theses cases, is it usual to be able to recover whatever was on the hard drive? Save games, achievements and whatnot? I'm a complete newbie at this, I have the damn thing for less than two months.

EDIT: Regarding the name... the thing is, until I got myself a decent amount of money, I didn't care about console-related things such as this, because my dad is kinda "anti-console" and depending on him, I knew I wouldn't get one. So, when I got myself a bit of money, I saw bought it against his will. I bought an X-Box because it looked like it was as good as the PS3, if not better, and was cheaper (It was 275€ / 217£ / 355$, whilst the PS3 is 400€ / 315£ / 514$).

I'm not 100% clear on this, but apparently, we're not supposed to take RROD'd consoles in, because they've broken down, rather than there being a fault covered by the warranty, or something. Doesn't sound right to me, but some places might refuse to take it in. Regarding your hard drive, if the place you got it from is anything like Gamestation and you're just exchanging the console like-for-like, they may ask you if you want to keep your hard drive and they'll stick the new one with the buggered console. And if they don't mention it, there's no harm in you asking, I'd have thought most reasonable retailers wouldn't have a problem with it.

EDIT: I was operating under the assumption you were taking it back where you bought it from as it was under warranty.

I honestly doubt I'll be able to keep the hard drive. The place I bought it is like a shopping center with a section dedicated to gaming, it's not a specialized shop itself. Still, I'll ask and hope for the best.

Thank you all for your advices.

If it's red ring of death, send it to Microsoft. You have free support for three years with the RROD issue. They may well post you back a newer console as well, one of the ones that doesn't die so often >_>

I supposedly have one of the new consoles. 60 gb disk, released a couple of months ago, etc etc. >_<

I had this happen to me a couple of months back. I took it to my EB Games and they said they don't send it back adn you have to send it to Microsoft yourself.

I was told by the help line to take off my hard drive and faceplate to keep while you only send the unit off. I got it back in a couple of weeks

Well, here's something weird. Today I got up and turned the console on just for the heck of it. It works fine now. I know it wasn't overheating because it had the 3 red circles, exactly like the support page said, and it did a strange buzzing sound when I turned it on. But now, it's fine. I guess my X-Box is really Jesus.

Regarding the game itself: it's not as bad as I thought, but I still wouldn't waste money on it. It'll help pass the time until Smackdown vs Raw 2009 comes out.

TNA's "iMPACT!" video game release has not been nearly as successful as initially hoped. Midway Games lost double what they expected during the third quarter. The company projected losses of $34 million, but now expect to lose $64 million in the quarter. Midway hoped the TNA video game would help save the quarter. Midway canceled two licenses, but spared TNA for the time being. It's being said that sales for the TNA "iMPACT!" video game have not been good at all and the feeling is that if sales continue to disappoint during the holiday season, there will be no future TNA video game releases from Midway. Even if the game sells well during the holiday season, it won't matter if the company goes out of business. PCMag.com posted an article with a headline reading

"Midway Games Fighting for Its Life,"

Serves them right..they released a game that, at best, is actually half done. IGN did a fan interview before the game came out with one of the lead designers and, when fans kept asking about things like more gimmick matches, knocksouts, more moves etc...the guy just kept saying "We;re thinking about it for a future release" or things like that

I think they underestimated how much they could do within the timespan. They've got the basics of a good game there, but reviews and word of mouth haven't been kind to it because of the atrocious online and promised components like individual motion capping being missing. And as far I know, there's been fuck all in terms of support post-release. To be honest, I'm not sure how they were expecting it to save the quarter or anything, do they really think TNA's that big a deal?
