Okay, here's something I don't think we've ever done before. Let's compile an exhaustive list of songs about sports - not songs which can relate to sports (i.e. 'We Are The Champions'), but songs that are specifically about one sport, team, or player. I'll start us off...

Baseball

"Centerfield" - John Fogerty

"OK Blue Jays"

"Take Me Out To The Ball Game"

"Glory Days" - Bruce Springsteen

Hockey

"The Hockey Song" - Stompin' Tom Connors

"Fireworks" - The Tragically Hip

"The Lonely End Of The Rink" - The Tragically Hip

"Hockey Night In Canada Theme"

"Me Like Hockey" - The Arrogant Worms

"French Canadian Guy" - The Arrogant Worms

"Big League" - Tom Cochrane & Red Rider

"Frozen Puck To The Head" - The Arrogant Worms

"Wayne Gretzky Rocks" - The Pursuit Of Happiness

"Fifty Mission Cap" - The Tragically Hip

Snowboarding

"Canadian Psychedelic Snowboarding Team" - The Arrogant Worms :shifty:

Boxing

"Just Like Ali" - Tom Cochrane

Anyhow, that's a start. Your turn now.

Kurtis Blow--"Basketball"

Bell Biv DeVoe--"Above the Rim"

And can "Glory Days" really be counted as JUST about baseball? The first verse is about a guy who pitched in high school, but that's really as far as it goes.

I felt like there was too much hockey in my list, so I stretched it a bit. :shifty:

"Fireworks" isn't much different, the first verse is about hockey but the rest isn't.

"Three Lions" - my iPod/iTunes has tagged it by The Lightening Seeds, but not sure if that is right.

Anyway, that's about soccer...or England sport in general.

.............Jesus Christ. Americans...just don't even try.

"Three Lion" was by The Lightning Seeds (w/Frank Skinner & David Baddiel) who were a comic duo, at the time known for their "Fantasy Football League" program. The Lightning Seeds basically NEVER get credit for it, even though it's there song, but they were more of the backing band for Skinner/Baddiel.

Yes, the song's about soccer/football...and in no way shape or form is about England sport in general.

I have a video, with Baddiel and Skinner doing it live with "Das Bundesliga Band"...which is basically, a band made up of Bundesliga players...was epic. Can't remember who played...but was a couple of famous people I seem to remember.

So cheesy, but so, so good.

Don't forget the Super Bowl Shuffle (Chicago Bears '86).

There's also Let's Go Mets that Shelley Palmer did for the '86 playoffs or something.

Dropkick Murphys' Tessie is greatness, even if it is about the BoSux.
