Guitar Hero/Rock Band Guitar Compatibility

For those of you who have a PS3, and if you own both Rockband 2 and Guitar Hero: World Tour, can you tell me whether or not the GHWT guitar will work for Rockband 2? I want to buy Rockband 2 but I don't want to buy the whole set right now.

Whats the better idea? Buy Rock Band instruments or Guitar Hero instruments? Compatibility doesn't really matter for the PS3 seemingly (aside from Guitar Hero drums on RB, which they are looking to patch apparently), but I mean more going towards build quality.

The GH drums are a more "natural" feel, but they have a lot of issues with actually working. The RB drums are loud as fuck and the kick pedal is poorly made. The RB2 drums have the same set-up as RB1's, but are sturdier, quieter, have the metal kick pad, and the slot for cymbal upgrades. Overall, I think the best bet would be RB2 drums.

There's always eBay, even if you were to import them and possibly get a sting with some form of import tax, it might still work out cheaper than getting the UK equivalent if/when it comes out.
