UFC 2009: Undisputed

I decided to start a third career as a kickboxer and wrestler and it's incredibly fun to play as. I don't usually go for take downs when I play so I'm forcing myself to play as a take down specialist that likes to ground and pound. I opted to go with light heavyweight as that offers lots of good opponents. I think I'm at my 6th fight or so and my next opponent is Stephan Bonnar. Oughta be a good fight.

I did the same thing, forcing myself to use a different style. I just started as a boxer/BJJ fighter. I am 3-0, but my second fight saw me end a fight with a submission for the first time in any career match I have played.

Just unlocked three classic fight montages. First I beat Bonnar with Griffin via decision which was hard for the beast in me because I could have easily finished him a couple of times during the match. Then knocked Liddell the fuck out with Rampage in the first round by just acting like an animal. Lastly I KO'd Matt Serra with GSP in the second round although it could have happened in the first round already.

I wub Rachelle Leah, she's so cute

Okay I've heard of and experienced people quitting at the end of a match so they don't get a loss on their record but I just had a fight as Rampage against someone as Forrest Griffin and they quit in the middle of the fight. They must have thrown in the towel rather than just disconnect though because I got the win by TKO. It had been a fairly even contest as well.

The music on the career mode menus is driving me fucking up the wall. I would turn it off, but then it turns off the music for the actual fights as well (which is bad ass). First time I've ever had to mute a video game.

Speaking of which, who is it in the commentary music that is asked by Joe Rogan whether he was worried when he was knocked down and how hurt he was? He responds by saying something along the lines of 'Oh, I wasn't hurt bad I was just trying to create a little drama'. I'd also like to know who he was against in that fight.

As for the Classic Fights, is there any other way to lock in an armbar than from full mount offense, postured up? Perhaps a reversal in a particular situation or something? I'm finding it tremendously difficult to get into mount against Matt Hughes with GSP.

That sounds pretty weird, did it still say there was a connection problem or anything?

No connection problem, the fight just stopped and it starting saving data.

Also, I had that random disconnect just then too.

I'll be back after I get raped by the guy who's ranked number 2 online. <_<

Ok, so yeah, I got raped. Well not really. He's a shit fighter to be honest. He was just waiting to catch my leg/punch and get into mount. Whilst we were standing for the first 30-45 seconds, I don't think he hit me. I landed quite a few decent headshots.

EDIT: I STILL hate the clinch, getting out of it is pure guess work, and once your opponent figures out you're shit in it, you may as well give up then.

I think the only two ways to get an arm bar is from mount or with BJJ open guard where you catch a punch.

Is that the one where he goes on to say "it was a joke, he hits hard man?" If so that was Rich Franklin.

God, I keep getting my ass handed to me in career mode. I had it on expert to start off with, because that's how I was playing on the demo since it came out. Then, I had to lower it to advanced just to last more than a round, now I'm all the way down to experienced. I love the game, but I just can't seem to figure out how to stay consistent on expert.

I'm getting ready to create a new character in the lightweight division and I want to play on expert from the start, any suggestions on how to go about fighting on expert? My stand up skills are good, I counter quite a bit. My ground game has drastically improved, but no matter how many times I reverse some, or try to reverse something, the computer always ends up with the upper hand. I want to run through the career mode on expert like I said before, but I don't want every single fight to end up being a 1 to 2 minute brutalization of my character, lol.
