So, my venue launches in September, and I've cheekily assigned myself the pop punk/pop/rock/fun music Friday night DJ slot in the bar (the venue has mad mad beatdown grrr hardcore which I'm too scared to go in to)... So what kind of songs would you want to hear when you go?

I'm thinking every time I DJ I want it to be full of fun singalongs from all walks of music, but stuff nobody will kinda get annoyed at, just, enjoy it coz its fun!

So yeah? Add to the list :

Fall Out Boy - Grand Theft Autumn, Sugar We're Going Down

Paramore - Misery Business

Hit The Lights - Bodybag, Stay Out

New Found Glory - My Friends Over You, Listen To Your Friends, All Downhill From Here, Kiss Me, Hit Or Miss

Four Year Strong - Heroes Get Remembered, Love Song, Wasting Time

You Me At Six - Finders Keepers, Save It For The Bedroom

Sum 41 - Fat Lip

Set Your Goals - Mutiny

A Day To Remember - Downfall Of Us All, Over My Head (Cable Car), Since U Been Gone

Enter Shikari - Sorry Your Not A Winner, No Sleep Tonight

Lostprophets - Rooftops, Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja, Where We Belong, Burn Burn

Funeral For A Friend - In To Oblivion

Taking Back Sunday - Cute Without The E

+44 - When Your Heart Stops Beating

Blink 182 - All The Small Things (pretty much one of twenty songs)

Hellogoodbye - Here In Your Arms, Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn

Dashboard Confessional - Hands Down

Brand New - Quiete Things, Sic Transit Gloria (or anything off the first album)

The Used - Box Full Of Sharp Objects, The Taste Of Ink

Lit - My Own Worst Enemy

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade, I'm Not Ok

Something Corporate - Punk Rock Princess

Cobra Starship - Pete Wentz Is The Only Reason We're Famous, Good Girls Go Bad

Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer, You Give Love A Bad Name

Will Smith - Wild Wild West, Girls Of The World, Fresh Prince Theme

Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend

Dizzee Rascal - Jus A Rascal, Bonkers

Jay-Z - 99 Problems

Kriss Kross - Jump

Lady Sovereign - Love Me Or Hate Me

Then just cheesy fun but upbeat songs from the likes of Jason Derulo, Backstreet Boys, Cheryl Cole, Sugababes, Girls Aloud, PJ & Duncan etc. aswell as smaller bands I love slipped in like Fleeing From Finales, Fireworks and so on

So yeah, thats a pretty good indication, we need singalong ideas and bare in mind, we're in the UK so songs big over here please!

Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!! - Vengaboys tongue.gif

Highly recommend The Getaway Plan, especially their songs Shadows, Where the City Meets the Sea and Streetlight. Small Aussie band that broke up a while ago, kinda similar to A Day to Remember, although the songs I just mentioned don't involve the screamo.

Jessica Mauboy - Running Back, Up/Down and Burn

The Calling - Wherever You WIll Go

Bon Jovi - Its My Life, We Weren't Born to Follow, One Wild Night, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead.

Miami Horror - Sometimes

Good Charlotte - Dance Floor Anthem, Misery, Keep Your Hands Off My Girl, Lifestyles of the RIch and Famous

Eminem - Not Afraid

JET - She's a Genius

Amy Meredith - Lying

Quite a bit of that is Aussie stuff, but given the success of Kylie over there, it should catch on.

Pearl Jam - The Fixer

Nirvana - Aneurysm

Soundgarden - any of: Rusty Cage, Outshined, Big Dumb Sex, Superunknown

Alice in Chains - Man in the Box

Limp Bizkit - Hot Dog

SOiL - Halo

Five Finger Death Punch - Bulletproof

Neil Young - Rockin' in the Free World (although the Pearl Jam cover would be preferable)

Creedance Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son (This happened once. It was goooood)

Yeah, I go to dirty places. :shifty:

In fact a couple of weeks I was bored so I made a 'dirty disco' playlist on Spotify for this type of thing.

Dude, pretty much all of them are awesome, Craig David is certainly going on, I think I'm gonna make a cheese megamix for while I dance on the bar.

Also most things are great choices, apart from anything themodernway suggested, he makes my insides feel bad ^_^

SOiL - Halo. Always gets played at our rock night, for good reason. Same with Turisas - Rasputin.

Prodigy - Omen, too. And some Pendulum.

I completely understand these suggestions

But there is a "rock" club in the big venue in town, which plays all these and kills the dancefloor, unless its Pendulum at 2am and your off your tits just for the "fuck it i lied..." line
