I had read something to this effect a while ago, but it fell more in line with the press release version of events: that Love had booked a "BEACH BOYS" tour that started right after the reunion one ended and included none of the original members. Totally sleazy, but I don't think that they were technically fired by press release or maybe he just got it over with early. They're definitely not part of Love's new tour where he doesn't have to split as much of the cash and people show up thinking they'll be seeing the genuine article.

I love on the new Beach Boys album you can tell the Mike Love songs from the Brian Wilson songs by the ones that are shit and the ones that aren't. "Spring Vacation" is one of the hackiest, laziest songs I've ever heard. It's like a Ringo Starr song without the charm or the lifetime pass that Ringo Starr has to make songs like that.
