Fuck overtime. I loved the call. It sucks they couldn't pull it off (and this coming from a Notre Dame fan), but I miss the days of gutsy calls to go for two. Overtime has neutered a lot of coaches over the last two decades.

Great decision by Hoke to go for two, maybe not the greatest call by Borges on that pass play, definitely not a good decision to throw that pass by Gardner.

That's the most ridiculous fucking thing i've seen in my history ( three years ) of watching college football. The comedy of errors from Alabama, arguing to put a second back on the clock, electing not to go to OT, missing the field goal, then whiffing on the return man...

I don't think going for it with either a FG or hail mary is a bad idea, but at least with the throw you negate any opportunity for them to return it for a TD.
