Dutch club Vitesse have denied that the Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony is about to sign for Swansea City.

A statement read: "On Thursday 27 June various media reported that Wilfried Bony makes a move to Premier League club Swansea City.

"This message is incorrect. For the striker, last season top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie, is a lot of interest and indeed Swansea City is one of the interested clubs. However, a transfer to Swansea City is not an issue at this time."

Can't see the point of that one if it's true. Baines is 28 I think.

Didn't he create the most goal scoring opportunities last year? Seems like a good signing to me. He knows Moyes, constantly over performs for Everton, is a considerable improvement on Evra and he's not too old yet by any means. Also doesn't stop any young left backs developments because Baines is a little too old to be a very long term replacement.

Didn't United sign Sherringham when he was pretty old? That still worked out just fine.

£14m for Micah Richards? That's just stupid. I'm not saying he's not a good player, but that kind of fee is a joke given how little he has played in recent seasons.

He's young and english. Just these two make him worth £10m.

Utd have had a bid of £10m rejected apparently. There's just something a bit wrong about paying £15m+ for a 28 year old LB...

Almost as mad as paying around 30m for a striker of the same age?
