  1. Judas Priest have cancelled the remainder of their US tour featuring Sabaton as guitarist suffered an aortic aneurysm and complete aortic dissection during the band's performance at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky on September 26th. According to the 41 year old guitarist, it happened as the band played Painkiller, the final song on the setlist that night. He was rushed to the Rudd Heart & Lung Center and underwent a 10 1/1 hour long emergency open heart surgery during which 5 parts of his chest were replaced with mechanical parts. He was discharged from the hospital earlier today. https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/judas-priests-richie-faulkner-suffered-an-aortic-aneurysm-during-louder-than-life-performance/ https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/judas-priest-guitarist-richie-faulkner-discharged-from-hospital-following-heart-surgery/ Holy shit! It is a miracle that the dude survived this.
  2. Does anyone here happen to have a decent picture of George Hines aka. Jackie Fulton as The Eagle or American Eagle in AJPW?
  3. I see that they still haven't figured out how to make long hair work.
  4. We're finally getting more GTA!!!!! It's a remaster of GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas.
  5. Konaka put out a a statement for international fans: https://cjkinnyx.fc2.net/blog-entry-1.html
  6. So there is an annual event in Japan called DigiFes that celebrates everything Digimon. This years edition of the event, which took place a few days ago, was all about the 20th anniversary of Digimon Tamers. During the event a script by Chiaki J. Konaka, the main writer of Tamers, was performed by the original voice actors of the show. Sounds cool so far, right? Well, as it turns out Konaka didn't write a regular Digimon script. In this script, the Tamers and their Digimon were fighting the big bad "Political Correctness" who was using devastating attacks such as "Cancel Culture". I'm not making this up. It really happened. The original voice actors read this bizarre script live on stage in front of an audience: And I'm sitting here wondering how the hell this got approved and how they convinced the voice actors to read this.
  7. A spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff's Dept. has confirmed that Mike Howe took his own life. The cause of death was determined to be asphyxia due to hanging. https://bravewords.com/news/metal-church-singer-mike-howe-s-death-ruled-suicide
  8. If you ask me, Andromeda has the best combat of the entire series.
  9. Sad news. Former Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison passed away at age 46: https://variety.com/2021/music/obituaries-people-news/joey-jordison-slipknot-dead-dies-1235028746/ And we've also lost lost Metal Church singer Mike Howe who died at age 55, more than 16 years after his predecessor David Wayne passed away: https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/metal-church-singer-mike-howe-dead-at-55/
  10. Dwayne Johnson won't return for the final 2 Fast & Furious movies. Seems like Vin Diesel got his wish: https://www.ign.com/articles/dwayne-johnson-confirms-he-wont-be-in-fast-and-furious-10-or-11
  11. I'm done with my Andromeda playthrough. Now I'm sitting here jonesing for more Mass Effect and probably have to wait 4 to 5 more years to get. And yes, I know there are books and comics including a novel that deals with the Quarian ark. I don't really care for any of that.
  12. Iron Maiden are back: New album "Senjutsu" will be out September 3rd. It is about 82 minutes long. "Senjutsu" (8:20) Smith/Harris "Stratego" (4:59) Gers/Harris "The Writing On The Wall" (6:13) Smith/Dickinson "Lost In A Lost World" (9:31) Harris "Days Of Future Past" (4:03) Smith/Dickinson "The Time Machine" (7:09) Gers/Harris "Darkest Hour" (7:20) Smith/Dickinson "Death Of The Celts" (10:20) Harris "The Parchment" (12:39) Harris "Hell On Earth" (11:19) Harris https://loudwire.com/iron-maiden-senjutsu-album/ 4 Harris-penned long tracks. And 3 of them in a row close out the album. And only 2 songs under 5 minutes. This is going to be a slug to get through, isn't it?
  13. How to you usually deal with Kalinda in Mass Effect Andromeda? I let her die in my current playthrough. Not only is she a user who emotionally abused PeeBee and probably would have turned on her again the second it became convenient for her, she also must have hired about a hundred goons to kill us over the course of the string of quests involving her and didn't seem to care all that much that they all died in the process.
  14. I was a decent movie, just not really the Black Widow movie I had hoped for.
  15. People who have a problem with how other people play video games or blow a gasket whenever the topics of easier difficulty settings and accessibility get brought up are assholes.
  16. I decided to do another ME:Andromeda run. Why the hell is the font size so damn small? That wasn't a problem with the old games. I have to get up and stand right in front of my wall-mounted TV if I want to read the codex entries or the subtitles. I've noticed that with a lot of current-gen games. Why is that?
  17. It's still a great game overall. It really is just the final 30 minutes that suck. The extended cut, which is the default ending in the Legendary Edition, was really just an expended version of the original endings. It fixed some issues, the biggest one being with the extended cut we actually get to see the consequences of our choice with the epilogues they added. IIRC, in the original endings we get to see the Crucible fire, the fate of the reapers depending on what choice you make and the scene with your crew leaving the crashed Normandy and then it goes straight to credits. But the big issues that most people had with the ending still persist. I think the original backlash to the ending was waaaay over the top though. EA has done much worse things than this ending for which they didn't take nearly as much flack as they did for this ending.
  18. So almost 9 years since the extended cut of the ME3 ending was release and the ending is still bad. I thought coming back to that game after not having played it again since finishing the extended cut back in 2012 and coming at it without all the anticipation, the years of theorizing and unrealistic expectations might help me gain a new perspective on the ending. But after having finished it, I'm still just as disappointed as I was 9 years ago. The only thing I'm curious about with the new game is which of the 3 choices they decide to make canon in the next game. Also I could have lived without the knowledge that the Protheans were a bunch of imperialistic slave drivers. I really regret thawing Javik out. Also both From Ashes as well as Leviathan should have totally been part of the main game and not DLC. The fact that you had to buy a DLC to get the actual backstory of the Reapers is maddening.
  19. Nevermind. I got to that part myself and realized that it was a string of missions instead of just 1. Also I totally forgot how garbage the Arrival DLC was. And it just shows how badly thought-out the main plot of the game was. The actually threat to the galaxy is delegated to a badly written DLC while you waste the main game with fighting the Collectors who never get brought up again in ME3. In general other than the recruitment and loyalty missions nothing you do in the main plot of ME2 has that much of an impact in ME3. Even all the effort to turn Ceberus into a more morally gray organization is undermined in ME3. ME2 is probably my favorite game of the series, but in retrospect the main plot seems like a gigantic waste of time. But back to Arrival. Why do I have to do this mission alone? I get that the real world reason that it was probably too expensive and too difficult to schedule bringing all the voice actors back. But in-universe it makes no sense. Especially if you have done all the loyalty missions before you start the Arrival. So they found a Reaper artifact that gave them visions of the Reaper attack and told them where the Reapers are going to arrive first. First of all, it is implied that it took Sovereign ages to figure out a way to open a path for the rest of the Reapers. And now they apparently figured out a way to do it on their own? Also why the hell would they leave behind an artifact that could give their enemies a tactical advantage to begin with? Also if all the personnel on the Project base were indoctrinated, why did they wait for Sheperd and Kenson to arrive to sabotage the mission? Kenson doesn't have to be present for that. And why don't they simply kill Sheperd while he is knocked out for two days? And why doesn't Sheperd try to contact the Batarian colonies again after he is interrupted by Kenson the first time? She didn't jam communication channels, she just interrupted him. He could have easily tried to contact them again, but Sheperd just kinda forgets about that. I'm playing a 100% Paragon Sheperd who would have rather died on that asteroid then let anyone else die. I know it probably wouldn't have made a difference either way since there was not enough time to evacuate 350.000 people, but it still bothers my that I didn't get the chance to try and that everyone (including Sheperd) seems so cool about sacrificing 350.000 Batarians after the mission is done. None of the choices you make do actually matter. I assumed the big descision was whether to destroy the relay or save the 350.000 Batarian colonists. But it wasn't a choice. Then I though the choice was whether to warn the colonists or save myself. But that choice turned out to be meaningless. And not even the choice whether to Renegade-kill Kenson or not didn't matter in the end. And the timing of the mission is weird to. They kinda expect you to do it after the main story is over. But they give you the Hackett transmission right away and it would make no sense for Sheperd who has been trying to warn people about the Reaper invasion not to do it immediately.
  20. Isn't that vehicle used in just one DLC mission in ME2?
  21. Garrus just tells you about it on the Normandy when you ask him about his history with C-Sec. For Tali and the Geth data you have to travel to the Armstrong Nebula and you will get an assignment from Admiral Hackett who tells you to destroy 4 Geth Outposts in the system. Alternatively you can that assignment by hacking a Geth terminal in the ExoGeni building on Feros or the genophage lab on Virmire. After taking out the outposts, you will be send to a planet in the Glossum system where the Geth's base of operation for the outposts is. After cleaning that place out, you can find the Geth data on an encrypted terminal you need to hack. You can give the data to Tali when you're back on the ship. She will use it to complete her pilgrimage. I don't think either Kaidan, Ashley or Liara have any "loyalty" assignments.
  22. I would do the few "loyalty" missions for your crew (finding Wrex' family armor, hunting the organ harvester that Garrus is searching and getting the Geth data for Tali), the string of missions featuring Ceberus as well as the DLC mission. But the rest can be skipped.
  23. How would that be different from the Fusient Media/Bischoff buys WCW scenario that already exists (other than you updating the rosters, stats, ages and all the other stuff that those older EWR scenarios tend to get wrong)?
  24. Hbomberguy made a feature-length documentary about the anti-vaccine movement, specifically the Andrew Wakefield story. It is long, but it is definitely worth the watching.
  25. If you activate Legion and allow him to stay on the Normandy in ME2, he tells you that the it identifies itself to the Geth as Nazara.
