Season 4 was good, and really explored the origins of the social ills really well. My one complaint would probably be that it didn't really feel complete, almost like they're holding off closing that chapter for season five.

Just started season five and did some Googling whilst watching. Apparently Snoop is a girl, which I would not have guessed at all.

I think my favorite thing about Snoop is that she's Snoop. Like, she's not "actress playing a part" so much so as "actual drug dealer and convicted murderer playing herself". I really need to get around to reading her memoir some day.

There's no way an actor could ever play that a character as convincingly as Felicia Pearson did. That's why this show was so good because instead of trying to get actors to be like these people, David Simon just hired the people.

Season 5 is weird. All the cops are moaning about having to do more work with less, but it's by far the most peaceful season the show has had.

Holy shit, Omar killed by some random child. I honestly expected him to at least be killed by the nice stoop kid who I forget the name of. That was kind of amazing, showing that you never know who's going to take you out when you're in the game.

Also, that FBI description of the killer matching McNulty is fucking hilarious.

Also, Bubs being clean a year makes me happy, he's the only person I needed a happy ending for.

That child was Kenard. He was one of the main characters of season 4, the youngest of the crew (and the most profane). He first appeared in episode 3 of season 3, playing pretend and pretending to be Omar with some friends at a crime scene Bunk and McNulty were at.

Ohhh shit yeah, of course it was. That's kind of cool, and plays into the element I liked of not knowing who's out to get you.

Also, Snoop just got shot, hell yes.

Amazing stuff. I agree with earlier sentiment that it doesn't become among the best shows ever until you see stiff intertwining later on, but it's worth it.

The scene in Episode 4 where McNulty and his partner communicate by just saying "fuck" in different tones as they investigate a crime scene is superb.
