  1. Cisse for Torres would be an amazing deal, Crouch probably not as good.
  2. For fucks sake I wanted to go to Bristol and Hartlepool, but I can't possibly get to Bristol in 3 1/2 hours even if Google says it's 3hrs 19. And I am not getting up earlier than 10 on Boxing day. Fuck police. Long trip my ass. It's three hours if you go the google way, yeah. But not if you go the BSIG Way! Don't go through Sheffield and DEFINITELY don't go through Birmingham, because you'll just get stuck in traffic. Do this: Alright, so Manchester isn't the perfect route, but you'll be less likely (at least I think you will) to get stuck anyway through this route. Cuts journey time down too*. *Result not proven By your method though I'd be hitting Manchester at 5, which I imagine is worse than hitting Birmingham at 1/2 6 - which isn't great in itself. Other alternatives are try and get me and both of my mates out of school an hour early or trains, which I imagine will be worse.

  4. Didn't half of your squad come from us?
  5. It's worse when you have never missed a penalty in actual play or AET, have had 60% of the possession, 5x the shots, had 2 goals disallowed and one of your ex-players score a goal that was offside in the 119th minute. But yes I agree, it's gutting and there'd be riots if it happened in real life.
  6. Already did both of those. He's calmed down a bit in the back half of the season, unfortunately he's not scoring as much now either :pinch:. Anyway, I'll try what BSIG said if it happens again, if I'm still managing Barca, I've been having a tough time lately - I sold Eto'o in January for 48m to Arsenal and 3 days later Saviola and Sobis got injured for 6 weeks and 3 months respectively, then a week later Defoe got injured for a month. Selling Eto'o jinxed me apparently. Couldn't bring in Heinze still, but I brought in a Portuguese striker/attacking midfielder, who was nice cover and turned out to be useful in the end with all my injuries up front, and 2 young wing backs, one on either wing, can't remember their names but I think they were - at least one was - suggested in here. However, Zambrotta and van Bronchorst have been playing amazingly since mid-December and thus I haven't had the guts to drop them - they've been the only players constistently doing well these past few months. Tried to sign Casillas and failed, will probably try again in the summer because Victor Valdez is too inconsistent. Also brought in Morientez on the cheap to cover my striker issue. Anyway yeah, been having a tough time and I applied for the vacant USA job, haven't heard anything yet. Not sure whether I'll take the offer or not when it does come, depends whether I can turn the form around.
  7. ... I better go check my other computer for dust.
  8. Sorry for double post, but I keep forgetting to ask, how do you set someone to mentor/tutor another player? Edit: Think I've done it.
  9. This pretty much sums up my season so far: I had 56% of the possession, more than double the amount of shots they did, 75% of mine were on target, about 40% of theirs were and I hit the woodwork about 5 times in the second half. They scored 3 in the opening 20 minutes, with 3 shots, despite me having all of the possession before then. I just can't buy a win, I've lost 5 out of my opening 7/8.
  10. Ooops, didn't realise it was that high. Cheers for that Yesterday I came across a handy little feature that let me look at previous transfers and future transfers. I'm sure it's something extremely obvious, but I can't find it anywhere, and I could do with seeing how much money I'll have left when these transfers go through. Edit: Nevermind. It was under transfers, I kept looking under finances and completely overlooking the most obvious place for it to be.
  11. My team are trying to walk it in the back of the net, we keep losing/drawing games despite having 57/58/59% of the possession, because we have a grand total of 6 shots in the game, 5 of which go wide. The only time they've scored in 3/4 games was from a spot kick. Should've taken that Greece job.
  12. We'll take him. Seriously though, I reckon Big Sam could very easily turn him into a 15 goal a season man, but saying that I imagine he'll be behind Micky, Viduka and Martins in the pecking order.
  13. I thought the women's clubs were run seperately to the men's clubs, and just closely affiliated with one another. Because I'm pretty sure Leeds would've scrapped their women's team a few years back when we were in serious financial trouble (i.e. days from liquidation) if they were part of the same business. Or maybe it's different for different clubs. Anyway, enough arguing with myself, sad to hear this, Charlton Ladies were one of the better teams in the league, shame they had to go.
  14. Went for him in the summer and couldn't get him without paying over the odds - which I'dve done had I sold Eto'o. If I get the money in January, I'm definitely going to get him, him, Spud and Sobis were my main summer targets, I only got Sobis.
  15. Are there any good left and right wing backs in this game that I could possibly get relatively cheap (i.e. 10m each) and are likely to leave. I know I'm only in September, but van Bronchorst and Zambrotta, particularly the former, aren't really up to the standard of the rest of the team, and I could do with signing one on either side when January rolls around.
  16. Surely they cannot have 100m in their budget?
  17. Gah, I thought I'd sold Eto'o to Milan for 45 million but it turns out they didn't have the funds, which is a shame because I brought in Jermaine Defoe and Rafael Sobis, Defoe was second top scorer in the premiership behind Tevez and Sobis was top scorer in La Liga, they're both fitting in well, and seeing as I've got adequate cover in Javier Saviola, Hasselbaink (came in on a free with low wages, still got semi-decent stats to work as a super-sub) and Unfortunately I couldn't pick up Mascherano, well I stopped bidding after 25mil, and went for Pirlo who's marginally better, though slightly older and got him for 23mil. Sold Gudjohnsen, Guily and Iniesta, among others, partly to raise funds (got about 25m for the job lot) but also because their wages were appallingly high. Couldn't get quite a lot of other players I bidded for either, including Heinze, Lahm, Riquelme, Cech and a couple of defenders I don't remember the names of. Picked up Maldini and Costacurta though, who are decent cover seeing as all the South Americans piss off every 6 weeks Deco is a fucking cunt when it comes to discipline, he's a great player, but he gets sent off constantly, is there any way to lower his aggression?
  18. Try shortening your passing and slowing the tempo of your team down, a good team like Barca should be able to knock the ball around a bit, looking for an opening, have your best passing midfielder play through balls often and put Eto'o to make forward runs often (same for Gudjohnson and Saviola if their pace and acceleration stats are better than the defender they are up against) I find knocking down to the last notch that it'll say medium usually works and make specific schemes for each postional group (I use defenders, def mids, att mids and strikers) concentrating on the skills they need This only really ever works well with players under 24 and with a high versatility stat, unfortunate versatility is hidden and it shouldn't affect their progress. Only make small minor tweaks if your tactic has worked before, then it should unsettle the team that much as changing your whole system. Thanks, I forgot I'd made this post and so didn't check for answers, but I actually did most of the things you suggested, such as setting it to the last possible medium, shortening the passes and lowering the tempo. Thanks, anyway though, was good advice seeing as I won the league (albeit on the final day after Real Betis couldn't beat Celta Vigo).
  19. Why have my team turned shit all of a sudden? I started a new game managing Barca, and we were doing great, 2nd in the league, 16/18 points in the group stages of the champions league, Spanish Super Cup winners, European Super Cup winners, Club World Championship winners, and into the quarter finals of the Spanish cup. Great. Then for no reason at all they've started doing shit. I've gone from having 55% of the possession in most games and having 20 shots per game, to having 43-44% of the possession and having 7 shots per game, 5 of which are off target. Instead of winning games 3-1 or 4-2, I'm now losing them 1-0 or 2-0, so I think it's mainly my strike force that's suffering. Which I can understand somewhat seeing as Eider Gudjohnson couldn't hit a double decker bus and Saviola/Eto'o are as inconsistent as any strikers I've ever come across. All my coaches have average or light workloads, and all the categories are 5*, my players are all on heavy training schemes, could that be a problem? Only thing is I find anything less than that and they tend to drop in stats, or at least that was the case at Leeds. Should I drop the training methods down a notch. Also, does training players for a new position effect anything? I've only tried it in this game, but I've tried to teach a couple of my fringe players some new positions so that my cover is more effective. But will this affect their training progress? Could it be that teams have adapted to my style and formation, and thus I need to change things around? If so, won't that unsettle the formation?
  20. When does Wimbledon start? This Monday or next?
  21. I told ya Blackwell is nothing, what he did last season (or 2 seasons ago, depending how you look at it) was on luck, you could tell that from our performances. Teams just couldn't acor and we got a set of scrappy goals, that and we had players like Liam Miller and Rob Hulse. Any manager in the football league would've achieved a top 6 position for us that year - a good one could've got us promoted. I was hoping Huddersfield would get him, I was gutted when you told me that you'd picked him up Still, he might be able to cut it at League One level. Might.
  22. [Club Name] tactics > Detailed, then drag and drop. Or just click on your team at the top of the page.
  23. It's harsh, and I wish someone could've saved them like we've been saved countless times and like Chelski were saved, among others. Still, Scarborough Rovers will be around in a couple of years.
  24. Should've given me a bigger transfer budget then.
  25. I'm 2 points behind the playoffs and 9-10 behind the leaders, I've just won manager of the month, Eddie Lewis won player of the month and Kieran McKenna won young player of the month, so I clean sweeped the awards. Oh and finally beat them
