Can't you kinda do that with Universe mode though? Pick someone and play as then through it. I know it's not anywhere near as good and you'd have to edit things as you go along.
  2. There's a surprising amount of fire in that video...
  3. There was a rumour recently about Stardom DLC. They apparently recorded something for a video game.
  4. Just simmed a 30 minute epic between Kendo Nagasaki and Great Muta (facepaint version). Muta stabbed Kebdo with a fork to the point Kendo was leaving puddles of blood everywhere, constantly sprayed the green mist to the point where he ran out of breath about 5 minutes in and even used a steel chair. Kendo constantly choked Muta and repeatedly hit him with the diving elbow drop which Muta always no sold. Black Tiger ran in but attacked the Great Muta suggesting that it was Mark Rocco in the mask trying to help his fellow countryman. Fortunately Great Muta was saved by his future masked self. After this timeline shattering interference Muta won with the figure four. He now faces Johnny Saint in the next round. Also in the next round is Tanahashi (who defeated Cena in the most disappointing match of the tournament) vs Randy Orton (beat Okada), Angle (beat Suzuki after the Angle slam over the top rope to the floor) vs. AJ Styles (beat Omega), and Eddie (beat Tanahashi) vs The Amazing Red (beat Jody Flesich after Johnny Mundo got involved for some reason). Saint beat Doug Williams. Having a lot of fun with this tournament. I did start a fire promoter with a Hardcore promotion full of horror characters (with special guests John Zandig and Jimmy Havoc on the first card) but I might just carry on booking dream match tournaments. Really hoping for a mad final.
  5. How did someone propose a hazard which means that the audience, roboteers and judges can't see what's going on and how did someone else not suggest that might be a bit rubbish?

I can't help but think that some of those Daily Mail comments are people being sarcastic anyway.

    Doctor Who

After the announcement of the last Doctor felt far too showbizzy they manage to go in the complete opposite direction and make it seem entirely inconsequential. Thats not a comment on who it is, just the way they announced it.

I think it's a stretch to suggest that RTD's cliffhangers are much worse than the ones under Moffat. Lest we forget that Moffat has had love save the day and set up the Doctor's name as the mystery of the show and sort of hand waved it off into there being a secret Doctor. Not that you should reveal the Doctor's real name and of course it's a really boring plot point anyway. Both are guilty of having bad resolutions, if you even think that is a crime when doing Doctor Who. I think it's sometimes part of the charm in all honesty. I still think Series 6 is the worst series of the revival. Which is odd because individual episodes in it are great but overall it's a painful slog. The Pirate episode being utterly dismal and the only live transmission of an episode where I felt like giving up. And everything that happens to Amy feels like it should have a far bigger character response than it does.

Apparently there will be a trailer for the rest of the series after the first episode. After the trailer there'll be a spoiler warning and then they'll show a huge spoiler about an upcoming episode. You'll then have the choice to watch it and find out what it is or close your eyes. I'm assuming it has something to do with what DFF spoiled above but i haven't read it... I'm not sure i like the idea of showing a spoiler on telly, it sounds okay offering the viewer a choice but if it is genuinely a big deal you'll probably just get it spoiled for you another way...
  10. To be honest i think its probably more interesting than some of the duller Grand Tour episodes. Certainly feels a lot more natural than anything on that show.
  11. Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments has somewhat similar interrogation scenes. You can call suspects out on evidence that doesn't add up and also adds a disappointingly simple mode where you analyse people's appearances to form assumptions.

I actually thought the last series (bar the last episode) was one of the best new series and that was built largely on then tailoring it more to his talents. I'd have been very interested to see what he would have done under a new head writer.

Spare Parts is something of an origin story for the Cybermen and is all sorts of brilliant. Davros with Doctor Six is quite good too.
  14. I could do with something like this. I work in a library and last year some of us did one review of a book a month (always based around a different category) but I ended up burning out on reading after hosting a couple of author talks towards the end of the year and not giving myself enough prep time. Setting myself a number target for the whole year might work a lot better.
  15. I'm a librarian and we're all doing a big Roald Dahl thing for the summer reading challenge but I honestly don't remember reading any as a child. Possibly because my mother steered me away from them. I should probably fill the gap at some point.

I dunno, I could see it being just as likely that an American Doctor would actually be played by a well respected British actor doing an accent.
  17. The guy directed DKR, he's not that bothered about his name being attached to utter tosh.
  18. I'm far from a DC fan but it isn't a Superman movie is it? It's a movie that contains Superman, just as much as it contains Batman, a character you've said you could see in an R rated movie. And the cinema release is a PG -13. I dunno. Did I enjoy Man of Steel? No. I thought it was overly long pretentious bollocks with too many horn noises and a bland colour palette. And then it ignores all of the introspection anyway to have its toys bash their way through a lego set. It's hardly alone in that. Do the trailers for this movie fill me with hope? No. Again, the colour palette looks as dull as anything. The last Batman movie being toss as well doesn't help matters. That said, this is a movie where we've got a rich business man who thinks thinks that the public should never ever be told the truth (even if that means building a statue to a deranged murderous city official) and a man with incredible powers who is capable of murder in the right situation and has just unintentionally destroyed half an American city having a bit of a bust up before becoming BFFs. That's where we are heading into this movie. They're not as exactly shining role models in this narrative. And, if I'm honest, I don't think they'll be able to compete with the family friendly fun of Marvel. And given the over abundance of Marvel now I'm not opposed to DC doing something a bit grisly. I find there's something unsettling about both characters anyway, so you may as well chuck them in something a bit edgy if it means they actually get to explore that. If it means the characters are presented in a less sanctimonious light then good. You know, before the bits with the overly loud horns and the bashy bashy. I dunno about you but the movie I'll be watching is a PG-13 (I can't find a UK age rating) apparently because it contains some sensuality. That's the case for the majority of the public. Most kids will still watch it. It's not like there's suddenly a Superman movie at the cinema where he's doing the naughty. But if they wanna chuck that on a DVD to appeal to the people who want the Attitude era back so be it.
  19. I heard it as "on the roof" and didn't even question it.
