  1. Nearly two and a half years since his last big league game, the Mets will be activating David Wright for the final homestand and will start him on Saturday the 29th in what will be the final game of his career. Wright didn't say that he was retiring, but he characterized his injuries as "debilitating" and tearfully conceded that there's not much point in him continuing to try to push through it. With two years left on his deal, I'd assume the Mets will do what the Rangers did with Prince Fielder and work out an agreement with the league and the insurance company so that the player can be released to free up the 40-man roster spot while the player still receives their normal pay and benefits. Gutting situation, but I hope he can find some closure in getting one last game at Citi Field.
  2. Jacob deGrom pitches 7 innings of 2-run ball, takes the loss to send his record to 8-9 despite a 1.71 ERA. The next day, Mets score 13 runs.
  3. This being Stafford's 10th season already feels weird for some reason.
  4. So it appears that Ciampa, Kendrick, and Nikki Cross have in fact been left out of the game. I don't care if they were hurt around Mania time, that's just daft.
  5. I'm gonna guess it's Jeff Jarrett and/or Owen Hart. More likely the former since he was someone that everyone assumed would never go into the HOF.
  6. The next roster reveal is today. The theme is apparently "Never Say Never". As in, I am never buying this game.
  7. This cartoon has gone over very well.
  8. 2012 Sheamus is just modern Sheamus with different attire. The laziness is astounding.
  9. Wonder if a head coach has ever been fired one game into their career before.
  10. 3rd and 1, and Matt Nagy calls for a pass which goes incomplete. Bears have to settle for a FG and leave Rodgers with loads of time only down 6. Genius.
  11. I try not to put too much stock into week 1 but with how bad the Giants and Cowboys’ offenses looked, their week 2 matchup might already be a Loser Leaves Town match.
  12. There’s gonna be nobody left at that Titans/Dolphins game by the time it’s done.
  13. Their defense gave them 5 turnovers and they still managed to be down by 7 at home until very late in the game. The Browns make the impossible a reality.
  14. I don’t know how the Browns don’t turn to Baker Mayfield in Week 2.
  15. Great waiver claim by Gettleman. But in fairness, I doubt 45 seconds trying to drive against this secondary would’ve been happening. Giants hung in there. Unfortunately, the Jags felt like one of the more winnable games in their brutal early season schedule and they still lost.
  16. Yeah it’s over. They aren’t scoring two TDs on this Jags defense. Hell of a first TD from Barkley tho.
  17. Ravens in the Survivor pool was such an easy pick. There won’t be a better week to pick them.
  18. Saquon Barkley’s first half in the NFL is in the books: 8 carries for 12 yards. 10 of them came on one play. But the Penn State fanboys who have been lining up to jerk his gerk told me he’d single handledy carry the offense.
  19. First offensive drive of the season, Ereck Flowers has already had two penalties called against him. Worst offensive lineman I’ve ever seen. So glad he’ll be off the team next year.
  20. And the NXT crowd are still dead. What hot garbage.
  21. Sometime in the middle of high school, a girl transferred into our school as part of our grade. I didn't have any classes with her or know anything about her other than she was a hot blonde cheerleader. Years later, I would re-discover her as porn star AJ Applegate.
  22. Colorado/Nebraska has been so much fun. Laviska Shenault Jr is gonna be doing some serious work on Sundays.
