  1. Lance Briggs was franchise tagged by the Bears.
  2. I don't mind the apology if only for the fact that he just said he shouldn't have said the things he did on air. He didn't say he was wrong in what he thought or that he changed his mind on his views.
  3. I'm guessing Sean Taylor laid someone out in the Pro Bowl?
  4. They could always have it where you get the gamerpics or whatever, but you also get entered into a random drawing with the winner getting a bigger prize.
  5. Favre announces he'll be returning to the Packers next year. And as for Ray Lewis, while he might not be as dominant as he used to be, I'd still guess he'd start at MLB for about 90% of NFL teams.
  6. Ah, I misunderstood then on ESPN. I could've swore they said that if they hired Turner right now they would have broken that rule. And I always thought that Steve Mariucci was Italian, but I could be misinformed yet again.
  7. The only reason they are interviewing Singletary is because he's black. You have to interview more then one black guy because if not you get in trouble. I don't know why they call it minority, either. You could interview 20 Italians, Mexicans, whatever, but if there aren't any African Americans, you'd still get fined if I remember correctly. As for celebrations and sportsmanship, that goes out the window during the game. For those 60 minutes you're doing whatever it takes to win, and if that means taunting a player enough to get him a flag/thrown out the game, you do it. After the game though apoligizes are made and everyone goes back to being the good sportsman. That's part of the reason I have such a big problem with the Patriots doing the Merriman dance but not many of the other things that people seem to care about.
  8. I finally got back into Final Fantasy 12. The only thing that I don't like are that the quickenings can be used very early to deal lots of damage, which is pretty cheap.
  9. Is anyone else watching SportsCenter? Could that guy be more biased? He's sounds like a Patriots fan forced to announce that.
  10. Anyone else notice Brady run off right after? Manning always found Brady, congratulated him, etc after their games. But you know that they won't say a word about Brady not sticking around to give his words of encouragement.
  11. Second play of the drive, Manning gets smacked on the helmet when he's releasing the ball. No flag.
  12. There were others complaining and if you listen to any of the people on TV the Patriots were committing pass interference, but because it wasn't as bad as some it usually wasn't called. After if got so much publicity, the referees would have been under pressure to make the close calls pass interference, but now that have a 5-yard option that they can use that won't be nearly as costly.
  13. The whole reason that rules were changed was because the Patriots were committing pass interference on every play but the referee's wouldn't call it. I agree that they shouldn't have called it every time, but it was obvious that the Colts should have gotten at least a few calls for pass interference. The new rules were more in favor of the Patriots, because after that game was reviewed and everyone had a chance to see everything, it would've forced the Patriots to completely change their style rather then alter it.
  14. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning both say hello.
  15. That doesn't mean wind wasn't a part of it. I remember that they didn't have the wind, and when you're kicking a football that makes a lot of difference.
  16. I'm not sure how strong the wind was, but I remember that playing a part in not going for the 48 yard attempt.
  17. The Patriots get every call, it's been that way forever it seems like (except last year in Denver, obviously). I wouldn't be surprised if the referee's were pulling for the Patriots, but either way the Chargers had a chance to either tie or win and had a lot of chances to finish the Pats off early. Either way, I like the Bears and Colts, so that's who I'm rooting for.
  18. Whisenhunt going to the Cards is great, one less job for Rivera to leave the Bears for.
  19. I agree that the Patriots are a different team, as well as that San Diego has a very talented defense, but I don't think either of them can match up to the Ravens, especially in the secondary. Manning made a couple good throws to go with his bad ones, so right now he's playing average. Again, I'm not saying his play will change, but you guys are talking like it's automatic that they're going to lose their next game. Looking to today's games though, I expect Grossman to play well. He's had a long time to prepare and get ready, plus the defense has been able to get healthy. I expect a Bears win, but I don't think they'll cover the spread. As for the Patriots/Chargers, I think the Chargers will win it by a touchdown. LT is a beast and the Patriots aren't the same, plus I have pure hatred for them.
  20. Everyone's saying how Manning will get lit up the next game he plays, but wasn't everyone saying that about the Baltimore/Indy game? I'm not saying he won't, but I would be more scared of Baltimore's defense then the Patriots or the Chargers. They'll have good conditions to play in and the secondary for both of those teams aren't what the Ravens have.
  21. Makes sense to me now, I don't know why I didn't think it through more. :ohwell:
  22. Being down by eight, is there any reason Peyton isn't going for the 2-point conversion? I mean what does he have to lose, and that includes the score to go ahead by 6.
