    WWE '12

I haven't played a WWE game in years, but I'm looking for a new purchase. Just wondering - what the fuck is WWE Universe Mode? I looked on the Wikipedia entry for WWE '12 and it didn't really explain it at all.
  2. Frank Ocean - Nostalgia, Ultra. I'd like to sit down, smoke a spliff with the dude and just talk about life.
  3. Horrible selections. Ozzy isn't very memorable outside of being good at challenges in Cooks, Stephanie was only memorable in Palau. Rupert, despite not really being a mastermind, definitely belongs in.
  4. Definitely interesting. I think Cirie and Rudy belong there, but I never enjoyed Tom. He just came across like a douche on television and the way he manipulated Ian at the end... uncomfortable. It's one of those moments where you can really just see somebody manipulating and praying upon someone who is much weaker. Maybe just me.
  5. Serious Parody, I'm going to you some legal advice. Free legal advice. I swear, I'm not going to charge you or anything. This is somebody who is watching some man make some very stupid mistakes. As I've alluded to in this thread, I know a thing or two about trademark law. This is good and solid advice here. You have made a game that takes the WWE's trademarks, slightly alters them, and than puts them into your game. It's not that creative and it looks like amateurish. But that's not really a problem. Your problem is that you are arguably using a companies trademarks and than making a thread on a message board advertising that you are going head to head with that companies product. That's like entering a tiger-pit with a tiny little stick and prodding the tiger. Even if what you are doing is legal (which it may or may not be), the WWE won't care. They know you are an upstart developer with no money. They know all they have to do is flex their legal muscles and you will go away. You are a very stupid man if you in any way would insinuate that your product was in competition with the WWE. It is, bar none, the stupidest thing you could do with your video game. Not because you are right or wrong. But because the WWE has a legal department that's budget is probably ten times the size of what your game cost to make and if they want to, they can make you and your video game go away very quickly and make it very costly for you.
  6. Perfect! A crash course on IP law for publishing is a few years behind me, but he's suggesting they used verbatim dialogue and story ideas that he created as well as the layout of the content. Wouldn't that theoretically be actionable (if it were true)? Copyright covers expression, not the idea. So the story ideas wouldn't be. But if WWE copied word for word the dialogue, there would be a problem there. But it'd have to be a substantial part, not just two or three words.
  7. Because there is no copyrights in ideas . Unless THQ stole his code directly or closely resembled the layouts of his page (copyright) or stole some sort of invention (patent), he has no case. He can send any idea he wants to THQ, they can look at it and they can use those exact same ideas as long as he they don't copy the design, steal the code, or the invention. Okay. The answer I was looking for was "because it never fucking happened". Because it never fucking happened.

  9. Wait, wait, wait, wait... somebody clear this up before I buy this game... so it's 9.99$ with additional costs in-game?
  10. Though, I do have a question before i download the game... Did you guys go through with naming characters Able who looked identical to Kane and a character who looked identical to Rob Van Dam and call him Rod Van Damn. I don't want to reopen the debate as it was stupid before and everybody was talking out their ass, just looking for a yes or no answer...
  11. I've got a lot of work this weekend, but if nobody has downloaded and given a good review by Monday, I'll purchase and let everybody know how it is.
  12. Flying Lotus - Los Angeles. Classic record. Sounds so fresh, interesting and new. The guy knows how to make interesting electronic music that sounds so familiar, yet so innovative.
  13. Heroes vs. Villians spoiler.
  14. Oh yeah, if it was purely strategy - as in the people who strategically advanced the game the furthest - I'd vote solely on winners alongside people who introduced new ways of approaching and thinking about the game - ie, Cirie. But thinking more about character, entertainment and narrative, I think Cirie, Tina and Fairplay all had really great contributions to the game. Especially Fairplay, alongside Rob C, who laid the ground work for entertaining characters playing for second place, screen-time and notoriety.
  15. Who belongs to be mentioned alongside Parvati Shallow, ‘Boston’ Rob Mariano, Russell Hantz, Richard Hatch, and Sandra Diaz-Twine? I answered earlier in the thread and can't remember what I voted. If it were me, I'd probably go Cirie, Tina and Fairplay. I think the problem that would hold any of them back is there performance in returning seasons. I'd include Tina because she invented the female, social game strategy and is the second winner, Cirie because she basically controlled the end-game of Exile Island, the whole game of FvF and was one of the best narrators of Survivor and Fairplay because he truly is an iconic and revered character in the shows history.
  16. Listening to the Metallica/Lou Reed album and the Rihanna/xx track I got around to thinking about unlikely collaborations that would be really neat and awesome to hear. Bands from different generations, mainstream and lesser known groups, across genres, etc. Firstly, I'd love to hear Justin Timberlake do a collaboration with a a quality electronic act. Somebody like Caribou and James Blake... somebody with pop sensibilities, but new and interesting ideas. Eminem and Nine Inch Nails, I think, would make a really interesting combination. Eminem has always had a harder edge in the production area, but I think putting him with somebody like Nine Inch Nails would be cool. And if not Eminem, Jay-Z. I think Kanye West should pair with Moby. No other reason than Moby hasn't done anything quality since Play and I think the dude has an amazing mind when it comes to hooks. Or a Radiohead/Kanye album. Beyonce and some indie rock group. She went to a Grizzly Bear concert, had Sleigh Bells do some production work on her songs and has name-dropped Of Montreal. Any of the aforementioned bands teamed with Beyonce would be very interesting.
  17. Albert really is being set up for a fall very shortly. From his inability to keep Mikaelya over Edna, his wanting to get Dawn out first and now the promo of Coach being onto Albert... Albert is slowly but surely inching himself closer and closer out of the game.
  18. I actually listened to the whole album. I really don't know what to think. Part of me thinks its a huge practical joke. Part of me thinks it sounds like two musical icons basically releasing whatever the fuck they want to do, devoid of any standards and expectations. Part of me thinks its the worst album I've ever heard. But than I also think it's the best album I've ever heard? It's entertaining to say the very least.
  19. Yeah, seriously. And GoGo, I'm going to amend what I stated early. I don't think Cochran's decision was good, but I don't think it was bad. I don't think he really moved himself any further ahead in the game or hurt himself. The jury votes he lost he probably never had anyways. And if Cochran had went through with the plan, he might have lost just as many votes from Upolo who felt Cochran was sneaky and a rat for faking them out. It clearly wasn't about drawing rocks because given how everything shaped up, it probably would have never come to it. Thinking about it, Savaii had a really good chance of furthering themselves in the game. Dawn and Ozzy have Immunity. Cochran is the double agent and Upolo probably wouldn't vote for him. He tells them the idol will be played on Whitney. If Cochran was forthcoming to his tribe, only Jim and Keith would have been the only two people to receive votes. I think given the fact that Cochran informed them the Immunity was being used on Whitney, Upolo would have taken out the bigger challenge threat. However, Cochran clearly felt burned by Savaii and Survivor's an emotional game so he wanted to play with Upolo, not Savaii.
  20. You know, I think people are going to say Cochran's move was dumb, but I actually think it was a good decision. He was treated like shit by his allies, he was so clearly on the outs, and was going to be voted off the last tribal had it not been for Ozzy's plan. He goes from being 6 out of 6 to being in an unknown position (probably near the bottom) out of 7. Also, Probst when describing Purple Rock scenario seemed to indicate that the only people who wouldn't pull rocks were the people who received votes. Weird. I was under the impression after Marq that anybody who was Immune didn't pull a purple rock.
  21. The-Dream; "1977". What a great break up album. The first five songs are superb and the rest of the album is really really good. Gonna land near the top of my year end list for sure. Wake Me Up When It's Over, Used to Be and Long Gone are the best consecutive tracks on an LP this year.
  22. I'd actually be very easy to do. All you'd need was WinRAR....
