  1. Refused; "The Shape of Punk to Come" Perhaps the most revolutionary Punk Rock CD to come out since the original scene in '77. Experimenting with different sounds (including violins, harpisochords) and destroying the 3 chord, 2 minute punk-rock theory, Refused are indeed perhaps one of the greatest bands alive. Dennis Lyxen, screamer and anarcherist, has perhaps one of the best voices alive. Anyone who is anyone should check out this album. BEST SONGS : New Noise, Summerholidays vs. Punk Routine, Tannhauser Derive, Refused are Fucking Dead. The Clash; "Self-Titled" The Clash are perhaps one of the best punk-rock groups ever. A lot of people like London Calling for it's vast effect on music. I like their self-titled better because I find the songs are written better, Joe Strummer comes across as a great vocalist and rebellion swells deep in their hearts. But hey, while you are at it pick up London Calling, which is just a few awesome away from being on the level of their Self Titled. BEST SONGS : London Burning, White Riot, Janie Jones, Hate & War. The Doors; "Self-Titled" Jim Morrison was indeed a character. He released this CD, perhaps one of the greatest rock albums of all time, and than releases complete and utter shit for a few years. But don't let Blender magazine tell you wrong, these guys do in fact rock. The Doors are pent up frustration, anger, love, and every other emotion in a catharis on a CD. BEST SONGS : The End, Alabama (Whiskey Bar), Break on Through, Light My Fire. Jay-Z; "The Black Album" Twentieth century rappers beware: Jay-Z has skill. He did release some shitty albums. But Jay-Z has come back to his game. Jay-Z has proven that he will forever be immortalized with this CD. With hot tracks galore and some insane beats, Jay-Z is the man. Chingy, Nelly, other flavor of the months, take notice. BEST SONGS : Encore, Dirt Off My Shoulder, 99 Problems, Change Clothes.
  2. The Kinks, The New York Dolls, and the Specials. Three totally different bands.
  3. Buy the Sage Francis & Non-Prophets CD, "Hope". It is better than this shit.

    Dizzee Rascal

Anyone else really digging Dizzee Rascal? For some reason, I love the guy. I love a lot of rap music, but Dizzee is by-far the most eccentric. Everything about him is bizarre, his voice is bizarre, his lyrics are bizarre and his delivery is bizarre. But I still listen to his record constantly. Favorite songs - Wot U On, Just a Rascal, Fix Up Look Sharp

Damn, someone already said George Clinton and Parliament. "Play that funky music, white boy."

    The Strokes

It is a figure of speech. I highly doubt someones 15 minutes of fame are 15 minutes. I guess some people can't handle the fact that the Strokes are just like the other "garage rock" trash (I quote this because their are some very good 60's garage rock revival bands, they just don't happen to be the White Stripes, the Strokes, the Conformist, etc.) out there which will be long gone and forgotten in a few months. In fact, it is already fading away. And thus I am happy.

    The Strokes

They are the flavor of the month.
  10. I'd say you be on the safe bet to download any song by Dillinger Escape Plan, especially off their new disc Irony is a Dead Scene. I see by your screen-name you like Alexisonfire. Chances are, since you like the Onfire, you'll like Dillinger Escape Plan. Out of the 20 Dillinger Escape Plans songs I have, I find myself listening to Three for Flinching, When Good Dogs Do Bad Things and The Running Board. I just took three songs off three of their albums so you should be fine.
  11. Anyone besides me on here like the Dillinger Escape Plan? They are an awesome, awesome band who kick the shit out of anything in the mainstream and a lot on the independent scene. I don't think the band can do any wrong. Even getting Mike Patton to do vocals on Irony Is A Dead Scene turned on good. I love Mike Patton and all of his work, I was just sure that D.E.P and Patton would click. NP : Weekend Sex Change
  12. Shii Ann deserves to win the Million Dollars; she lasted pretty damn long and adapted to every situation. If she had gotten Tom and Rupert to vote out Amber, she would have won. No doubt in my mind.
  13. Hahahahahahahahaha... oh wait, you were serious. Anyone could have been Nirvana. Hell, Nirvana was the Sex Pistols over again. Nirvana stopped being musicians and started being entertainers after Bleach. As well, Nirvana are worse than sell-outs (a term you used twice, when it shouldn't have); they honestly became everything they loathed about the music business. Pearl Jam are NOT sell-outs. Red Hot Chilli Peppers would be the sell-outs, whoring themselves left and right. I'd like to hear your definition, exactely, on what a sell-out is. Because for some reason, I don't think you quite understand. Any rock band with credibility that makes it big must be a sell-out, right?

    Your top 5..

    1. Mommys Little Monster by Social Distortion 2. Lets Go Crazy by Refused 3. Spanish Bombs by the Clash 4. TV Party by Black Flag 5. Punk Rock Rebel by Millencolin
  15. I agree. I wouldn't end up seeing it anyway on MTV and would ultimately have to download it. Zombie videos are usually killer and anything with Anthrax in it is awesome.

    Music Survey

Fave Chilli Peppers Song?: ... Roller Coaster of Love, only because it is a cover. Red Hot Chilli Peppers are mediocre song writers. Fave Muse song?: Who? Fave Radiohead Album?: Radiohead are over-rated thrash. Pearl Jam or Nirvana?: Pearl Jam, anyday. Favourite Chill-Out album?: The Lost Patrol; "Songs About Running Away" Favourite Solo Artist?: Kanye West is solo, so I'll stick with him. Pop or R&B?: R&B Indie or Metal?: Metal Rap or Rock?: Both.
  18. Whoa, I can name at least a dozen bands who are better than Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Who else was on this list?
  19. Finally got around to purchasing Operation Ivy's classic "Energy".
