  1. He is a guilty pleasure. He makes good pop music and I'd take him over Britney anyday.
  2. Nothing like the game. More like brainless action movie. I didn't see the first one and drew a blank to what was happening. No character development, no plot and horrible acting. Heck, it wasn't even that violent. It gets a 1 out of 10.
  3. Pansy Division is this awesome band who have discovered a really stable and eccentric fan-base. They aren't big and don't get played on the radio, but you should check out some of there songs. He Whipped My Ass In Tennis Flower Anthem Vanilla Hockey Hair
  4. Come on, I think we could get a full 200 pages of reasons why people should hate Three Days Grace. I'd rather rub my ears in glass. Did anyone manage to catch the concert Sam Roberts and Sloan put on Olympic Isles? I was away in Europe when the concert was put on and missed a loaded show. Best, Canadian, Fest, Ever.
  5. Anyone heard of this truly awesome band? I heard about them three months ago along with !!! and the Liars and dance-punk has been blaring in my speakers ever since. Basically the premise of the band is have a drummer who sings and a bassist cranked up to the max. Than you have them jam out some of the catchiest and best punk song to ever come out of Canada. They recently had to add the 1979 to Death From Above because of a law suit. Even with the law-suit and rumors of their new album being shitty [haven't heard it yet], I still love these guys. Plus they have a weird obsession with things Asian. Sushi, ninja bandanas and weird intro to songs with foreign languages.

  7. Planet Smashers rule. I have seen them two times before and I must say, although neo-ska, I still love it. Billy Talent. Upon first listen, I thought Try Honesty was fine. I bought the CD. And realized the fact, "Billy Talent kind of suck." Than, I keep hearing their singles in the radio and saw the success they got. I said to myself, "okay, they are good for Canadian music." Than I saw them at Warped Tour. And now I have said, "hey, Billy Talent put on a rockin' show." So really, tommorow I could wind up hating Billy Talent. But they aren't, nor anywhere close, to rock gods. Someone said Moist and they couldn't be more right. Push was such an awesome song. I loved all of the singles Moist relased in the 1990's and they along with I Mother Earth, Big Wreck, Sloan, the Odds, Junkhouse, Tea Party etc. started up a huge revival of great music in Canada. The effects are still felt today with acts like Sloan, Sam Roberts, Broken Social Scene, Matthew Good being at the helms of the second coming of good, Canadian rock music. Plus you got Thornley, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Edwin and the Pressures {new I Mother Earth blows} showing that their is life after your good band. Lets ship away Three Days Grace, Default, Nickelback, Theory of a Dead Man to the states and let them have the shit.
  8. Nice to whoever said the Trews. I have tickets to see them on the 28th, and I am all ready to rock and roll when I see them. Three Days Grace on the other hand are playing tommorow and I get the unfortunate pleasure of seeing them. Sum 41 was here last week and man did they put on a good show along with Protest the Hero/Bombs Over Providence. And than next week, I get Kardinal Offishall and on Saturday I get to see Alexisonfire, Closet Monster and Hopes Fall. I also kind of dig Swollen Members. I mean, they aren't really talented MC's and there beats are nothing to phone home about, but I guess since they are Canadian got to represent. Canada has a hot bed of talent when it comes to MC's... K-OS, Kardinal, Choclair, Brassmunk amongst other talented MC's. To whoever said OLP... the first CD I bought was Naveed and it is still good for a listen or two. After Clumsy, Raine and the guys went down hill and became absolute shit. How about some of the old classic punk bands... Dayglo Abortions? Marilyn Vitamins? D.O.A? Heck, I'd even say old Gob is pretty good pop-punk {not this Give Up the Grudge, I Hear You Calling Pussy shit. Give me Soda or give me death}.
  9. I so agree about Rainbow Butt Monkeys. I remember the day when me and my friend heard about them and only liked their music because of their immature name. Oh, great times as a kid. And I do belive the Odds released something in 2003, or perhaps it was the lead singer. All I remember is, The Odds rocked my world as a kid.
  10. Write about your favorite Canadian bands/artists. Heck, even Americans can talk about Canadian bands they like. Oh, and lets try to stick to the not so obvious ["I really like Nickelback"] This can be current groups, disbanded groups, old groups. Whatever. Band... recommended song -Action {Dawn of a New War} -Age of Electric {You Complain} -Alexisonfire {Accidents} -Billy Talent {The Ex} -Bombs Over Providence {Walkertown, Workfare and the Wusses Who Watched} -Broken Social Scene {Cause=Time} -Buck 65 {Wicked and Weird} -Career Suicide {Sucker} -Closet Monster {Mr. Holland vs. Acceptable Behavior} -Death From Above 1979 {Too Much Love} -DJ Tiga {Hot In Here} -Femme Generation {Body Technology} -Hidden Cameras {High Above the Church Ground} -Hostage Life {Money Parade} -Hot Hot Heat {Bandages} -I Mother Earth {One More Astranaut} -Jersey {Generation Genocide} -Jesus Mullet {Munsoned} -K-OS {Crabuckit} -Matthew Good {Avalanche} -Matthew Good Band {Anti-Pop} -Maximum RNR {Switchblade} -Moneen {Lifes Too Short Little Ndugu} -Nomeansno {Two Lips, Two Lungs and One Tongue} -The Odds {Someone Who Is Cool} -Propadandhi {Fuck Religion} -Protest the Hero {Just Defy} -Riot 99 {New York City Girl} -Rufus Wainwright {Across the Universe} -Sam Roberts {Brother Down} -The Weakerthans {The Reason} Plus, that is without the classics that we have all grown to love like Teenage Head, BTO/The Guess Who, Rush, Tragically Hip...

    American Idiot

I have always been a fan of Green Day and blink-182-, have been for 7 years now. And they have really shown they are willingly to grow up and expand their bands. Blink-182-s latest effort was very well done and Green Day is proving to the world they can change too. Bravo, to both bands.

    The Clash

Yes, yes, yes, a thread dedicated to the Clash. How much I love the Clash. I have all of their CD's (including live and compilations). Plus, I have various vinyl's of the Clash including Combat Rock, London Calling, Self Titled, Black Market Clash, etc. My favorite songs that I didn't see [which I may have missed] Angry list are : Brand New Cadillac, White Man In Hammersmith Palace, Clampdown, London's Burning, Rock the Casbah, Stay Free, Train In Vain, Complete Control and This Is Radio Clash. Like Punk Rock Music? Wait, no, let me restate that... like Rock music? Listen to one of the greatest rock bands of all time, who deserve a spot on every top ten list.
  14. Broken Social Scene; "Anthems for A Teenage Girl" I don't know what it is about this song. Just so lovely, so beautiful. I can listen to it for hours on end. Joe Strummer and Johnny Cash; "Redemption Song" Given the circumstances of both men, this song deserves a listen. Moneen; "Lifes Too Short Little Ndugu" I hate emo. But I love Moneen. And this is one of my favorite songs. Refused; "Return to the Closet" Everytime Dennis screams, I feel something. There are a few other songs by Sloan, K-OS, the Streets, but I thought I'd just mention some of the ones I didn't see listed.

    .

Missy Elliot stole K-OS "Heaven Only Knows" and I nearly barfed.
  16. I defintely recommend it. The movie is very fucked up... I couldn't believe that all of the actors involved were willingly to be part of something like this. There are a few familar faces who play in roles that make you scratch your head. Plus, of course, saying Culkin in drag is worth the price of admission. At least he is attempting to build his own movie career, instead of relying on Home Alone.

In September. Plus I have been to literally dozens and dozens of local shows.
  18. Great, great movie. I loved every minute of it. I defintely recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in it. Not for everyone though, you got to be into the artsy movies and have an open mind.

    MTV VMAs

Or some people have different tastes. Stop trying to come across as an elitist snob, we already have enough of them here. Me included.
  20. Wow, someone really knows how to follow along with the movie. Go and see the movie, I went with two others who thought it was a very good movie, but not for the cinematic idiot. Oh, and don't go see Anacondas 2. Very bland, not worth the price of admission. Thank god I didn't pay.

    Best Bargain Ever

I got a Moneen CD for 5$. Moneen are an emo band from Ontario, and usually I hate emo but Moneen make it upbeat and fun. So kudos to them.
